My experience With the body shop was awful.
I received no status reports on my repairs, until a week after they were completed. When I arrived to pick up my car, there were interior pieces hanging that shouldn't have been and they didn't have the part so I had to leave it and go back 2 days later to pick it up again when it was "finished" A week later another interior piece was vibrating and loose which resulted in someone coming to me to fix it because I wasn't making a 4th trip to Ankeny. The trim inside is scratched, the headliner and visors are covered in dirty dark fingerprints from when they were reinstalled. The entire experience was awful start to finish. I'm now at the point of looking to trade it in and get something else because it doesn't feel like my car anymore and looks so awful inside, which is sad when the repairs were actually for the exterior.

Would have given a 4 or 5 rating until the finance part of buying my truck. They had added a $1500 Ally 5 year Premier Protection plan with no chance of opting out or prior discussion and a $345 Tire Protection plan on a 2018 Chevy 2500 HD. And when I started asking questions my I needed a Protection plan during most of the truck s factory warranty and they would change the subject. Tried to contact them today ( 12/7/17) still haven t heard a word. I guess the Colorado off-road that my wife was planing on purchasing next few months won t be there !

Had a very good experience with a dales person named Ted Nus. Talked about our vehicles wants and he let us drive and sit in a vehicle with no pressure - he even let us sit in one we knew we wouldn't buy, just so we knew what it was like! Butch in financing definitely worked hard in getting us a deal, even calling us back a week later to let us know there was a better one! Overall, very, very good experience!

I will never again step foot into karls chevy bought a brand new 2500HD and the next morning with just over 80 miles on it from the drive home woke up to a flat tire. It had a cut on the side of the tire called several times just to hear a load of B.S. So I ended up buying a new tire after just sending 42k after trade in and rebates. Good job KARLS on making a first time buyer into NOT a return buyer at least you did something right.

Mariano Duncan was the best Sales Rep I've ever dealt with. He helped us with two purchases in the past month - an Equinox and a Traverse. He truly LISTENS to ensure he fully understands what is most important to his customer. He arranged for an extended test drive to see how the seat worked for my back issues. He was never pushy and found vehicles with the options we were interested in. He immediately dealt with a small handful of issues we encountered always striving to give us a positive customer experience. Mariano made this such a great experience. 8th new car purchase in a row for our family at Karl's.

Purchased a new truck from Karl Chevrolet. Our Salesman, Mike McNeley was outstanding! No pressure, very friendly, like you have known him your entire life, great person to deal with and very knowledgeable of the truck. Would definitely recommend him! The Delivery Coordinator, Wes Hilderbrand was outstanding also. Very friendly and very knowledgeable also. Explained everything very well. If you purchase a vehicle from Karl Chevrolet I hope you get him as the Delivery Coordinator. Brian in finance was excellent as well. Our whole experience at Karl Chevrolet was awesome!

I am disappointed, that my turn signals and break ...

I am disappointed, that my turn signals and break lights were not checked as they have been in the past. There was plenty of time to do so since I had to wait for my windshield wipers to get to the lube station. It is also frustrating, that it was not offered to replace the leaking gasket in my oil pan when I asked about the leak.

We have been faithful customers of Karl Chevrolet for over 10 years....because of their awesome service. We have purchased at least four - maybe five - vehicles from Karl, and have been completely satisfied with the purchase process, the trade-in value, and the after-the-sale service. The Service Department maintains our vehicles with the utmost care and expertise. When we started purchasing from Karl, we lived locally. Since then, we have moved more than one hour away, but continue to bring our vehicles to Karl's for service and maintenance because we are so pleased with their service and their technicians. I would highly recommend Karl's Chevrolet for anything you need in reference to your vehicles.

I was in a fender bender with my Chevy Trailblazer. Being upset that someone had hit my car I wasn't looking forward to what was in store, little did I know I was in for the BEST service I have ever had anywhere. Jason at the collision center was very kind and took care of all my needs. I had also asked that my SUV have the service department take a look and get my oil changed. When it was time to pick up my SUV all I had to do was take my rental to the collision center and they took care of the rest. I was very impressed with the detail job they gave my car inside and out. Thank you to everyone who took part in giving me/us great service! I'm almost happy she ran into my car it's never looked better ;)

I went to Karls to look for a used truck. I found one I liked and thought the sales staff made me a fair deal on so I said I would like to buy it. I then went into the finance office where they proceeded to run credit checks on my credit through 12 different banks and loan offices. I have good credit (or should I say had) and didn't think that this was necessary. I didn't know that they had done this until I went to purchase a house 5 months later and my mortgage company asked my why I had so many inquiries to my credit in such a short period of time. I was and still am quite upset that they did this without my knowledge and was even unhappier to find out that I could have received quite a better rate on my 30 year mortgage if they hadn't done this. I am unsatisfied and let Bill Moyer at the Certified used sales department know this, and he told me "that is standard policy". Well you might want to let people know this beforehand Mr. Moyer.

During the recall for ignition failures. We received the car back after several weeks of waiting. When we got the car back trim pieces were missing from the car (the plastic on the column and around the floor shifter) they then argued that they weren't there when they received the car and weren't going to fix it. After arguing with them about it they agreed to fix the problem on the column but not the shifter. So improper repairs, stealing parts from the vehicle, arguing with a customer, and the amount of time in repairs is not what I expected from karl Chevrolet. Will NOT be returning to them in the future

I found the whole purchase experience pleasant. It didn't take half a day either. The salesman was respectful and listened to my needs. The sales manager went above and didn't pressure me into purchasing the vehicle on the spot. I found the people treated me the way they would want to be treated. The finance manager was easy going and made the check out process memorable. Yes, I will definitely recommend Karl to anyone who will listen.

We had a regular scheduled appointment for oil change and a issue with check engine light. The service tech noticed a small leak on the transmission line so we decided to have that fixed as well. The finished the work at the time promised and we were happy with the outcome.

First time they changed oil in my brand new car they dented the hood and the second oil change they put in the wrong oil. Luckily I was paying attention and pointed it out and they drained an refilled with proper oil that I paid extra for. Also on first oil change they told me they couldn't check rear brakes because they are drum brakes but I pointed out to service tech that they are rear disc. He had never looked just assumed. This was after the wheels were off of the car for tire rotation. The dent I saw happen when they didn't close hood all the way and then pushed on center of hood with hand to finish latching it. Can't say that I'm real impressed or happy so far.

Chris Mcneley was wonderful in working to help find a vehicle that fit my family s growing needs. He was patient and responsive and always willing to answer my questions. When it came to working with me on picking up the vehicle and signing papers - I was amazed I could do a home delivery. Chris set it up quickly and Olga met me at my house. She did a wonderful job walking me through the setup and features of the new Tahoe and signing all the paperwork. Overall, it was an outstanding experience.

Thank you Jim and Taylor. You guys are awesome. Wasnt planning on a brand new vehicle but that's what we got. 2017 chevy cruze. It has all the new options. Love it.

As I write this on Sept. 16, 2020, I recall being at Karl Chevrolet near the first of the year to get new tires on my 2017 Chevy. While I was waiting for the car, I of course walked around the lot and showroom. While doing so, I ran into a salesperson (Tyler) who asked if there was anything he could do for me, and I told him I was waiting for my car to be serviced. Well, it must have been a slow morning for this young man, and we ended up chatting for about 20 minutes. I told him as we parted that when it came time for us to trade up, I'd ask for him.

You guessed it ... a week ago today my wife and I decided to pay a visit to Karl Chevrolet and look at a 2020 model. I was greet by the receptionist, asked if Tyler was working. She said that he was, and he summoned him to the showroom. Tyler listened to what we wanted in a car, pulled up inventory on his computer, and we decided to check-out a 2020 Chevy Equinox AWD. Tyler explained all the safety features that came with the vehicle, and my wife and I felt spending a few extra bucks for safety was well worth it. He also explained incentives that were being offered by the dealership and GM at the time. We took the car for a test drive, loved it, and came back to the dealership and talked numbers. Now, let's make no mistake, our 2017 Trax was in excellent condition. We got a fair trade-in value for it, and drove our new car home.

One other thing I need to mention. During this time of the pandemic, it appears Karl Chevrolet is doing their best to make the shopping experience safe and pleasant for the customer. There were no cars in the showroom, employees were wearing masks, except if in an enclosed office, and I felt the place just seemed clean.

So, would I recommend Karl Chevrolet to a family member or friend? Yep, already did. My son bought a new 2020 Malibu from Tyler last eve. Thanks Tyler for taking care of the Kramer family!

I had the best experience I've ever had at a dealership and this is the 7th car I've bought!! I recently had a very poor experience with a sales manager at the Bob Brown GMC dealership so I decide to give the Tahoe a chance since its so similar to my old Denali!! Everyone treated me like they have known me forever and put me at ease!! It was the BEST car buying I've done and will most definitely be a returning customer!! Linda and the rest of the staff were very helpful in helping me purchase a new truck! I walked away with a truck beyond my expectations and they helped me along the way with any questions, concerns, and gave me a very fair price. I never felt pressured once during the purchase. The financing team and Butch were awesome as well. Olga was very helpful in showing me all the tech features I never knew about. This has been my best experience at a dealership by far.

I was very pleased with my experience at Karl s Chevrolet s collision center. They used all new parts. Even got my aftermarket parts for me. Kept me up to date on progress and the quality of their work was great. I had issues with the insurance adjuster but they took care of it for me and set me up with a rental.

We pulled in and were helped right away. Came in for an oil change and tire rotation on a Sunday, which was great. They had us finished faster than anticipated. The waiting area was very nice, with complimentary hot beverages and TV, although, it was on the Golf Game.

We needed a new car due to accident with the van. A friend's son works at Karl Chevolet so we inquired there for another Toyota. Todd McKinney did a wonderful job of lining us up with a Camry. Mileage good and reasonably priced. We were able to finance for several years. We agreed to sale conditions, and Todd had it ready for us the next day. I can see why their slogan reads, Your dealer for Life. Todd also followed up with us, and we can call him with any questions or problems. Fantastic service! Thanks Todd!

Best service all across the dealership. Used their collision shop for hail damage, have had accessories added post vehicle purchase, express lube service and have never been disappointed. While the place is large and they handle multiple people you always feel you're a special customer. And when buying a vehicle, you get to drive it off the show room floor! That's something you can't find anywhere else!

I was scheduled to have my front brakes looked at ...

I was scheduled to have my front brakes looked at and get 4 new tires. I went in about a week or so prior and received a print out of 3 different tire options. Hankook $167 per tire, Bridgestone $197 a tire, and Michelin $216 a tire. I decided on the Bridgestone. I called a few days before my appointment and let the service department know what tires I would like. He I forgot his name said he would make a note in my file. I show up to my appointment and get checked in by Taylor. I asked him to confirm the tires I chose were available. He couldn t find the note, but assured me he would make sure I received those tires. Not even 20 minutes later I get a call from Taylor stating my tires were never ordered and he only had 3 available. He had called around town trying to find one more, but couldn t. He offered to put the 3 on and then I could come back on Monday for the other one. That didn t work for me so he suggested I pick from the other 2 choices. I chose the Hankook s and was told they would be around $167 a tire. Taylor also called me later and said I needed new front brake pads and new rotors. I agreed to get those installed. I get called around 3:30pm saying my vehicle is ready after being there since 9. I pay and then leave. I noticed that I was charged $197 a tire!! I called and spoke with Taylor and let him know of the issue. He apologized multiple times and said he would call me first thing Monday to resolve the issue. I received a call from Taylor on Monday and he let me know I would either need to give him my debit info over the phone to refund my $130 that I was overcharged or he could mail me a check or I would have to make it there by 4 because there is only 1 person that can refund the card and she leaves at 4. I didn t make it by 4 I had to drive there anyway to get my tires re torqued, Taylor offered to do the refund over the phone tomorrow or just mail me a check. I decided on him mailing me a check. He once again apologized for the mix up. I just had a suggestion, Does anyone check to make sure all parts/tires are ordered and ready to go for the following business day? If not, I think that should be implemented. If this was done, I wouldn t have run into this issue. Once again, I do understand it was an honest mistake regarding the tires and overcharging, but maybe just do a little double checking next time. I did receive my paperwork to send in for the rebate and my $50 Visa card. Another thing to mention, I believe if you spend $1,300 dollars like I did, you could maybe get a top of the line car wash and not just the basic. I have received the top of the line car wash with spending less money. Thank you for your time reading my email. I will still continue to do my business with you guys because you always do an amazing job with the work to the vehicle. Everyone is friendly as well. Taylor went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the visit! Taylor was great!
