I just purchased my third vehicle from Karl Chevrolet and every time they have been amazing to deal with.
I ve worked with Ken every time and we may have 15-min in combined communications regarding the purchase. I don t know about you but I don t like sitting in dealerships all day arguing about pricing.
Ken has beat any price I got within Cedar Rapids so it s worth the drive. Karl Chevrolet is respectful, professional dealership that makes car buy enjoyable.

Went to get an oil change. Pulled up to the quick lane rows. There were 2 lanes and someone was sitting in one. I was next in line in the other lane. A woman came over to take my name and said it would be at least an hour and a half because they had just pulled the car in front of me in. I've never done an oil change in my life and I think I could do it in less than 90 minutes. They had 2 people taking names for 2 lanes. Maybe they could get away with 1 person with a clipboard and hire an extra tech. I won't waste my time and go back.

Do NOT go here. If I had my choice I would have never had my $20,000 repair done from an accident or any warranty work done through them. It has been the WORST experience ever. We have bought numerous vehicles from them, the last 2 were a brand new Silverado High County and Suburban. Larry, the technician I spoke to who claimed to be the service manager, is absolutely the rudest person I have ever worked with. I had warranty work done for a week and never received a loaner, however, a friend of mine had warranty A/C work done and received a loaner. Now my wheel bearings or brakes are grinding, which might I add, brakes were replaced in April 2018 with 10,000 miles. I have had nothing but problems done since my $20,000 repair.

There were two things I was not happy with. First thing is I was told there would be a loaner car waiting for me when I dropped my vehicle off for warranty work. When I got there I had to spend over a half hour with Hertz to get a vehicle. Second thing is when I was told my vehicle was done I went to pick it up and noticed there was a paint chip/peel where they repainted it so I had to leave it there another week and ended up making two trips which is 45 miles one way so I drove an extra 90 miles because of this mistake.

I was in an accident where I was hit by another car in a parking lot. Karl's was one of the places recommended by their insurance, and they did an excellent job repairing the damage and fixing the paint on my car.

They have a couple rental car places actually in adjacent lots they work with, and I was able to get my rental car, and drop it off, right in the lot where I dropped off my car to their repair center.

Overall, they did a great job and I had to do almost nothing to get the insurance of the person who hit me to pay for the repairs and rental car.

This was a government purchase.
The vehicle was ready for pickup and very nice for the bid price.
The salesman Dennis Rudolph does a good job and made sure to go over the vehicle with us before we left.

I simple oil change and tire rotation at the Quick Lube turned into a return trip to the service department when the techs at Quick Lube did not replace my cruze's air filter properly and my check engine light came on. It took about an hour at the Service Department for them to figure out what was wrong. It was a minor problem, but it caused me major stress.

The waiting time today was terrible. Had appointment at 11:30, oil change and small scratch looked at.( They went ahead and fixed yet didn't let us know they were fixing, if we had known this I wouldn't have been so irritated with the waiting time) Joe brought truck to us at 3:00. Up dateing a customer should be a proirity I would think in a situation like this.

Super customer service - the whole place was incredibly friendly when we went to buy our new Volt. Even though their company holiday party was starting, Rob Ferraro took as much time as we needed to walk us through the whole process and show us the details of the car (even though he missed a really good-smelling freebie dinner). The post-purchase support has also been fantastic--any time I have a question, I just call or email, and he gets back to me right away with an answer. Would wholeheartedly recommend Karl Chevrolet generally, and Rob Ferraro specifically.

We waited at the Express Service for over 45 minut...

We waited at the Express Service for over 45 minutes and watched the attendant service at least 5 other vehicles that arrived AFTER us. For a department that works on a first come first served basis, this was a terrible lack of attention to detail as to the order in which vehicles arrived. If the attendant had bothered to come to our vehicle to see what services were needed, she could have informed us that we needed to be at the Certified Service department and not the Express department. This oversight by her, and our willingness to wait the extended period of time, then caused us to be be 45 minutes late for our Service appointment. This then delayed our ability to pick up the vehicle that evening, so as not to rush the service technician to perform the repair appropriately. Potentially, had the Service technician informed us of the proper place to bring the vehicle when we scheduled the appointment, this all could have been avoided. It still is not an excuse for the POOR customer service that was received by the Express department. I had to walk in to the waiting area to receive help or at least information as to how much longer it would be, and eventually where our vehicle needed to be repaired. The Certified Service Department was helpful, courteous, and appeared to appropriately complete the repair. The cashier did not explain any of the service items repaired, nor did she inform us that we needed to have the tires rechecked 50-100 miles after the rotation. We only learned of this after reviewing the receipt. This experience was lacking in communication, customer service, and attention to detail. After we have used up the tires for life I will not be returning to this Chevy dealership.

One thing does bother me, it thus is the second time we have bought a new pickup within 3 years with extended warranty each time and yet when we icome get a oil change. they always say you just two oil changes left on your warranty
Really. I just got this truck on June of 2018. Why don't the records done they ever show what actual warranty I have

I'd like to describe my experience at Karl Chevrol...

I'd like to describe my experience at Karl Chevrolet in one word: Simple. I worked with Michael McNeley & I am grateful that it was him, because he kept an undoubtedly, optimistic attitude in that everything would work out.... Even though I certainly didn't think it would work out in my favor.
I looked at the inventory on Karl Chevrolet's website & that is when I noticed the 2011 Mini Cooper just calling my name & my interest immediately peaked.
After a few hours going through numbers & a few other options later... I knew I didn't want anything else but the Mini Cooper.
At this point, I really didn't think it was going to work out... just because it wasn't matching my expectations.
I went home that night thinking that it wasn't going to happen this time around.
Then I received a phone call the next day & he told me what they could do... I was thrilled. It wasn't exact, but it was pretty darn close. Needless to say, I went & picked my lil car up that night & drove it off the lot......... One happy camper I was, & one easy, fantastic experience. All because Michael McNeley can work magic! :) Thanks again for all your hard work Mike!!

a bumper to bumper warranty means nothing to these people in Stewart. I had me car there for the same problem for several visits nothing was fixed. when they finally decide to do something they say the warranty is expired and want to charge me .Do not buy a car from them you will be sorry

I had been putting off getting my oil changed but time was up. Due to COVID and my age, I was really scared. But my fright lessoned when I was told I could stay in the car. Even though I only let my window down 2 inches, we were able to correspond what I had to do myself to reset gauges, I was tickled to pieces. Everyone was so kind. I could not wait to come home and email my relatives my experience and they too said they were afraid to get their oil changed in their towns and hoped they could have such a good experience as I did. My wife and I stopped by Karl Chevrolet to look for a used affordable SUV. We were greeted by a lovely young lady at the entrance to the showroom. She matched us up with Shane Buck a salesman who drove us around through an endless inventory. It wasn't long before we were focusing on a used Black Equinox. Shane showed patience and professionalism as we negotiated the purchase. Eventually it became apparent that it would be more cost effective for us to consider purchasing a new one. Shane wanted us to have that vehicle and we wanted it too. Tiffany Martin from finance reviewed financing options with us and Mike Moots the Sales Manager also helped finalize the purchase. Wow it was ours and my wife was ecstatic! What an exciting experience without the expected high pressure salesmanship! This was happening at 7:00 PM on a Saturday night. This team knew how to put the needs of the customer ahead of personal convenience. Evan Williams trained us on how to operate/use the many options. This will add to the pleasure every time we drive this vehicle. What a way to start out a new year! Thanks again to the team at Karl Chevrolet! Dave & Lori Malin

Was pushed through a deal faster than we wanted so they wouldn't have to honor addl. rebates, had to spend over an hour trying to setup free trial of XM, they didn't do it, navigation unit didn't receive the updates it should have, doesn't work as advertised right on Chevy's website, vehicle had all 4 tires at very different pressures, even had an onstar maintenance alert triggered from it. No attempt to resolve anything despite numerous contacts by us. This is the 3rd car we've bought from Karl Chevrolet and most certainly will be the last.

Was in last week to see a very specific vehicle which was nice but was a little out of my financial capacity. I then asked to see a similarly priced truck that was being used buy the maintenance department. This truck was extremely dirty due to the fact of beingredients used as such. We moved on to haggling over the offer for my trade. I was shot a figure so low I was ready to walk but I stayed with it in hopes he would come up some. It never happened. So at this point the salesmen decided to show me something that I could afford. Happened to be a similar truck to what I had already owned. During my inspection of the vehicle I noticed it looked and smelled as if farmer John just crawled his stinky ass out of it. At this point I wasn't happy with anything the salesmen had to offer and told him so. The salesman then decided to act unprofessional and reminded me of a 12yo kid on the play ground that no one wanted to play with. This of course lead to a meeting with the sales manager he was kind and simpothetic to our needs and understood where I was coming from. I may not visit Carl's used car lot for quite some time after this experience.

First I wasn't in the Market for a new truck . I got a phone call about a red tag sale going on , so ON MY day off I went to Karl Chevrolet . I drive a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado with 170k miles . its not in horrible condition I would say fair . . They Offered 489.00 trade in for it . When I got home I looked up my trucks value using Kelly blue book calculator . IN poor shape it value is 4,074.00 dollars . Their offer of 489.00 is a insult , and I personally won't be doing business with them !

My car had excessive oil consumption so monitoring the oil usage for several months my engine was using 11/2 courts in1,200 miles the service advisor decided to rebuild my engine. They rebuild my engine in 1 day wow I think Karl's service dept is second to none .Thank you.

I had an ASC warranty on my 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe t...

I had an ASC warranty on my 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe that covered the cost of an aftermarket transmission replacement. Two major problems occurred. Before the transmission repair was even an idea, I paid for a misdiagnosis, where I was told nothing is wrong with your transmission at this time. And paid $127.15 for diagnosis, which 20 minutes after I left the dealership, I had a horrible noise coming from the transmission again and brought it right back. Suddenly there was something wrong. The next problem is that we finally move forward with this, and now at the end where my transmission is in place, I m being told I have to pay for the transmission pan drop, an additional $250.00. I was told by the Tech that ASC told them to drop the pan. I called ASC. They did not authorize that. ASC told me that all Karl was supposed to do was take a small sample for metal detection. I m supposed to come pick up this vehicle on Tuesday, and I am no where near satisfied with how things went. Bottom line is, I will never be coming back, and I ll make sure no one I know wants to either.

Customer service was very good. Initial salesman I have been talking with for a few months was not available so worked with another salesman that was available. We reviewed inventory of new 2018 Chevy Traverses. Did not have exactly what we wanted but that was ok, they sold us UP. Definitely worth our time looking at a higher package than we initially went into it thinking we would buy. One thing I was VERY disappointed with(AND SAME ON ME FOR NOT LOOKING AS WELL) is that this vehicle was in the show room so we did not drive it. We drove another Traverse. With that being said, I should have looked at miles. I bought a 'NEW' vehicle with 396 miles on it. I wish I would of known this before we negotiated. Disappointing on their part for not reviewing it with us but also shame on me for not looking. This will NEVER happen to me again and I will make sure to tell ALL of my friend to review miles even when it is NEW. Thank you.

People ask why our family has done business with Carl since the day he opened his doors. Well...this morning we had a tire issue with one of our out-of-town delivery trucks. A quick call to Randy Munson, and the Karl Chevrolet Service Department got us in right away. They got the tire fixed fast and allowed us to leave on our run at the scheduled time. Their customer service helps us keep commitments made to our customers. Thanks to Randy and the entire service team at Karl Chevrolet!

Bought my wifes vehicle here about a year and a half ago will have to say our buying experience was excellent the salesman would get a 5 star but their service on the other hand is terrible brand new vehicle wore out the set of tires in less then 20k got told they couldnt do anything yet when i called gm they said they were spose to look into it more had to spend 1000 bucks to get the tires replaced which i did else where had a missfire on the vehicle for over 6 months drove it for miles one way to be looked at and nothing could b done took it to pat clemons and they took care of the issue and treated us way better even tho we didnt buy it from them . Had other issues with the vehicle and the service writer was rude and treated us like we were just complaining well its a new vehicle and its been in the shop more then my vehicle with way more then 200k after finally getting them to look at it after getting stern with them they never updated us on how things were going and had to call my self so sad to say it but i almost dont want to buy a chevy now cuz my experince was absolutelt terrible

They seemed to get impatient with me because it took me a little while to decide on what car to get. And when I got the car there were problems with it. And there is still problems with it. And the guy that helped me literally told me to give him 100% on the survey because it's his report card. He said and I quote, 'Now you'll be getting a survey soon and I need you to give me 100% because that's my report card and I need it perfect!' You don't tell someone to give you 100%. You tell them to, fill it out so we know what we can improve on or so we know if we are doing our jobs correctly. Customers are the bosses. Without customers. No business.

Please, do you really need to have a service tech bring a dirty dipstick with oil on it into the customer waiting area? What happened, somebody file a lawsuit for not putting (enough) oil in their engine? Get real!!! Unless I go and watch them to verify that it's my engine, how do I know it's my oil level on that dipstick? And how do I know you put the correct oil in my engine? I pay for synthetic - is that what you really put in? Are you going to show me the empty can, too? You might be taking this a bit too far, Mr. Moyer!!!

I just bought my second car from Karl Chevrolet in the past 3 years. You wont find better service than Karl anywhere. All questions and concerns immediately remedied. Kyle sold me my first truck with all the niceties and now my fully loaded equinox. Hes the Go to Guy. I am a no nonsense buyer, with lots of concerns, I do my homework, and I bargin the best deals! Kyle has his work cut out for him every time I enter the building. With that said Karl is my dealership for life...period! Happy Shopping!!!

A word to replace AWESOME in the Karl Chevrolet dictionary~ McNeley.
I clicked on an information button for the Equinox some months back and got a reply from Mike McNeley. We emailed back and forth for several weeks, then my husband and I needed to put our search on hold. Mike understood and said he wouldn't bother us until we contacted him again. Unbelievable for a car salesman but he was TRUE to his word. We started our search again Sept 22 and stopped by to see Mike. He took us back to his office and listened to what we were looking for, then went to find it. We drove the Equinox and it was love at first turn. Then the dealing began. My husband had a set budget. Mike NEVER pressed ~ he respected my husband's limit. However, Mike and the sales manager went to work to put us in that car and they were able to work out a deal that meet our expectations. We picked up our new Equinox on Sept 23 after a tutoring lesson from Craig on it's features and how to use them. Needless to say that between the customer service from Mike, the deal, and the service we will get for our new Equinox we will be life long Karl Chevrolet clients.
