This Hotel was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. You pay good money and the hotel is disquieting and with zero management..
There were so many worse but clear reviews below. so I don't need to say too much.
It was total accident to get here and we had no choice.
All I can say is "PLEASE DO NOT GO, IF YOU CAN!"
Zero management, unprofessional , ......
But over all, I think it's just waste of time to write more.
Just do not stay here.

The resort and its surroundings are beautiful. The service is amazing and all the amenities are spotless.

Clean rooms, great food, excellent service, beautiful setting.

We had a stay with our company on this really beautiful place. It was such a nice day here.
Our company gave sooo many efforts on this stay and booked an hospitality suite for the whole team (110 people!) until 11pm to continue at the bar upstairs afterwards.
What happened?
Bar closed at 11pm, personal manager was not willing to extend the opening time of the bar. The staff was running around, but not willing to give us some drinks.
Conclusion: nice place and nice area to come down. If you are planning to have a successful meeting with your company/team and to have some drinks together with your colleagues after 11pm, you should maybe visit this place only during the weekend. During the week you have to go to your room after 11pm, like the general manager mentioned.

I was disappointed to say the least. The rooms were absolutely fantastic but I've been here before and the second time around was not as good as the first. From not get our orders correct, to 2 of the three pools being closed, to getting more than one customer service rep not able to handle simple questions the new ownership (which I was told just happened) has dropped the ball....it really seemed the hotel staff were not prepared to answer very simple questions.....

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They also had complimentry apple cider

Located 30 minutes from Gravenhurst and a little bit more than 2 hours from Toronto JW Marriott - Rosseau is a hidden gem that captures the beauty of Muskoka. A fabulous high end resort with great hiking, cycling and water front views of the Muskoka region await. Fantastic dining options on site, great staff, well appointed and spacious rooms and great service will complete your visit. If you are looking for a spot to take in the Muskoka fall colors this a fantastic option that you must visit.

Great in the summer and you can land your plane on the lake!

I stayed here for a few days for an anniversary getaway. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with great service. Very welcoming staff. The lobby and lounge areas are beautiful as well as the grounds of the resort. Stunning views all around that make it easy for you to get into 'vacation mode' quickly. Our suite was great and spacious with a good sized balcony to sit out and enjoy the lake views and the night sky. Great sunset views too. I recommend going for the breakfast buffet; it's on the pricier side, but a better value in my opinion than ordering off the menu. Lots of tasty options available either way. Highly recommend staying here!

Nice but over rated. Not worth 300 to 500 a night. 150 is more than reasonable

It s a good resort, just be sure not to leave anything behind because they won t give it back to you. I left my gold earrings in the room and they told me that never found it although I called back in within 30 minutes and gave them the exact location .
The receptionist asked me to leave a message for lost and found which I did but they never got back to me . I tried to contact them few times and no one really cared to return my call.
I am extremely disappointed with the way they handled this case and I won t be going back.

Friendly staff, stunning location and ultimately very relaxing. The building and grounds are kept very clean and the restaurant food and service is done well. I especially liked using the mountain bikes at the front entrance to explore the property. Thank you!

I am a frequent traveller and have status with many chains, this is my first visit to JW in Muskoka, i just checked in and to start my vacation i had the worst check in experience. So far not good, if i had choice i would have cancelled and went any other hotel but it was a very long drive! Will see how the rest of the stay will be.

After spending over $7500+ on 3 separate stays, I won't be going back, truly feel like there is no loyalty at all, and highly disappointed.

Great location, views are beautiful and the grounds are well maintained all year. Rooms are nice, with comfortable beds and pillows. Staff is always friendly and attentive.

Stayed 7/3-7/5 2020. I have stayed at many JW Marriotts around the world and this is by far the worst of them all. It does not deserve the JW name whatsoever.

Upon arrival into our room it was obviously not thoroughly cleaned. The front hall closet had empty beer cans and wine bottles and the couch was covered with crumbs. During this virus time you would expect the room to be 100% SPOTLESS, how you can miss a closet full of bottles and a crumb covered couch is beyond me. We were given a credit for restaurant, which was quite good and came back 2 hours later and the mess was taken care of.

The room itself is quite old and in need of a renovation, tears on the couch and scuffed up furniture (again, something I was shocked to see at a JW). Really the worst part about this resort is the lake area. There are only maybe 8 loungers that actually have an umbrella, the rest are just basic lounge chairs on a slab of concrete next to the water. The landscaping of the entire lakefront area is truly awful and the "beach" is a joke, so tiny. If you are going here to enjoy being by the lake you will be disappointed for sure. No real pathways just dirt and grass along with torn up concrete.. invest some money in improving this area, every lounger should at the bare minimum have an umbrella or at least a small table to put stuff on.

The resort charges $50+ a day after tax for a "resort fee" which they state allows for access to Kayaks/canoes/bikes. Be warned there are literally 2 canoes and 3 kayaks available for rent. Felt bad for the employee trying to deal with lots of angry guests because all of the equipment was gone for hours on end.

Overall, The value for money here is just truly awful. You are MUCH better off renting a luxury cottage on rosseau as you will get way better access to the water and a nicer place at a cheaper cost. To top it off, I am currently fighting with the hotel for a $400 charge for the room even though I booked this hotel entirely on points, be warned and check your bill fully once checking out.

Amazing service, friendly front desk staff who give great suggestions on winter activities even though we had no snow, warm fireplaces scattered throughout resort. The best Ceasars with dilly beans and the chop house and tea restaurants had really well served dinners.

Best place for having a disconnection from the city life

I am still shocked... from my recent experience at this hotel!
THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!
The staff is not trained at all! Servers in restaurants keep dropping things, forget about their guests and act completely like amateurs! The bartender acts like customers are his friends... and to some he is arrogant and to some he is friendly! Unprofessional. The pool bar closed at 5:50 and refused to give us a drink at 6:02, as they said it closes at 6!!! When we asked why they said, they don't have a lot of guests now after the weekend! Restaurant Cottages: Servers have zero training. Cold food... Bad beer and cheap small talk.

The hotel is renovated well, but the service is worse than a motel next to the road.

Avoid! Waste of your money, energy and expectations...

Very nice resort! Expensive but the service is impeccable. The rooms are cozy, clean and packed with amenities. Very Muskoka!

Excellent Muskoka property. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to provide exceptional service. Stayed in a suite with balcony overlooking stunning Lake Rosseau. I would recommend this resort for a summer weekend getaway.

We stopped into the bar restaurant today and 3 of us had the JW signature burger. It was terrible!! Considering it was a pre made frozen patty it should not have been cooked to the level it was. It tasted like a dried out hockey puck. We also request service twice from the conceiege! Thanks for nothing JW!

Our stay at JW Marriott was very pleasant. The hotel was very clean and their location is awesome. It was late summer and they were very busy. We had to wait a long time at their restaurants.

We had such a wonderful stay here on our wedding anniversary. We went for a couple of days and they had plenty of activities available. Biking in the snow and hanging out in the outdoors hot tub while freezing outside were some of the highlights. They have so many food options and they provide live entertainment at night with board games available. It was the perfect getaway during winter season.

The hotel is great with lots to do. Went up for the Canada day 150 and had a wonderful time. Staff in the hotel and at soar were great.

This is a very good hotel. We got a lake view king suite. The bathrooms, furniture and decorations are all very tasteful and fairly updated. The staff are all very nice and well trained. They make a personal effort to please you and help you wherever possible. The pool is very warm in the winter. I swam with my 3 year old for at least an hour every day even though it was pretty cold outside. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Amazing resort with spectacular views of the rosseau lake. Visited the resort during my wife s birthday and she loved it. The dining experience is amazing with four restaurants to choose from. Lots of activities to do during the summer time such as rent bikes, rent kayak or canoe, bonfire. Its a great place to relax and enjoy in the lap of nature. I would highly recommend visiting the place during summers.

Red leaves is a very nice 4 star resort. This visit was for a Christmas party. It's a great venue with spacious conference rooms. We always have a good time there. The catering must be under new management though, because In past years the buffet was to die for. This year some things were inedible and they packed up the whole thing as soon as everyone had been through once. With the turkey carving station to the side and behind the buffet and the fanatic packing up of the buffet a lot of guests never even got the main protein. The staff was also fanatical about removing water glasses. Since there was a dance after the dinner you couldn't leave your drink unattended or it would disappear. The breakfast buffet the next morning was also just ok. I remember it all being a lot more spot on in past years. All the rooms I've stayed in have been great though. I've never tried the spa.

Terrible terrible terrible resort. Terrible service terrible front desk. Will NOT be back and certainly would not recommend. Unprofessional.

A major turn off of mine is when a business gets into the business of ripping people off. Hotel is fine but bought a single glass of lousy house wine at Cottages and charged $19.75 and there was no mistake. You could see in the bartenders eyes she didn t like charging that much either as she got that shock look from lots of others. I thought it was a joke. Even the guys beside me were disgusted. We were all there for a convention. It s sad really, ruins your experience for the rest of your stay when you get ripped off. Keep the extra $10 bucks, you obviously need it more than I. Had you charged a reasonable rate you would have made probably a hundred more.

This Marriott is the one to set the bar for all other Marriott to measure up to.
The 1st thing that you feel when you walk into the front desk area is the organization and cleanliness of this extraordinary building.
The atmosphere is warm and makes you feel welcomed!
The rooms are exquisite and very well appointed.
The scenery is spectacular and the grounds are neat and very well manicured.
All staff from the porters to the chef are very friendly very helpful always pleasant and cheery.
The chef takes extreme pride in the food varieties offered in the restaurant.
The food is excellent!
He makes just enough presence to ensure your experience is complete.
When your stay at this Marriott is over, you will leave wanting to return at the 1st chance you get!

Great location for a long weekend getaway . Rooms well suited to families, spacious and well appointed ..restaurants had some challenges, slow service, untrained staff , not what you d expect at a facility such as this ..
Pools needed a good cleaning considering amount of use ..

Beautiful resort with stunning views. Luxury rooms and great staff. Had a minor malfunction with our fireplace whole there and within 5 minutes they were there fixing it and getting it up and running.

The food is great and they have big portions. Best thing, as we were there for an event of 300+ people, the food was delicious and came out hot! Also as a big tea drinker they had a wonderful selection of teas and even have honey to sweeten instead of only sugar, which as a tea drinker is a wonderful change and greatly appreciated.

My husband and I have stayed here three times now, we love it! The wine, the food, the service, the gluten Free options, the SPA! We really do enjoy every time we are here. The upgrades to the lobby are gorgeous and the hot tub is great to finish off the day! For a little local getaway, highly recommend.

Great place to stay if you just want to relax and have a spa day. The spa treatments can be expensive but you get what you pay for. This is also a great place for people that like to explore the outdoors. Lots of trails to walk and different place to go in the area.

As for the resort. They have lots of staff that are always very helpful and willing to go the extra mile for you. The indoor/ outdoor pool is amazing and very clean and warm. There are lots of little things you can do on the resort property.

The room was amazing. Very clean and high ceilings and big windows, gas fireplace was great to warm up the room. Beds were comfortable and sheets were soft. Having a little kitchenette was extremely handy to make little meals and snacks. It had all the pots and utensils we needed.

Overall the experience was great. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away but will to pay a little extra for a great experience.

Went for a weekend and had a really good time. We went with several other couples for a retreat and came back relaxed and rested. Hotel is very modern, very clean, and staff is very friendly. Their snowshoe trails are a little bit lacking, but they do offer free rentals and there is a big lake out front to go on. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and were very comfortable. I would happily return.
We went to the Italian restaurant and ate at the lobby bar. Both were very good and I was very impressed with the creativity and flavours used on both menus. I left full and content from every meal.

We arrived at the Rosseau in high spirits. The bar was not very busy and we ended up standing There for 15 minutes before we were served. Others arrived after us and were served first. A simple acknowledgement that they would be with us soon would have been appreciated.

Amazing venue! Would love to have the chance to visut during the summer!

What a crowd, what a service

Amazing vacation! I didn t know place like this existed in Ontario. We stayed at Marriott 3 for days with my kids. Rooms were super clean. Staff was friendly. I plan to go every year

I think this hotel is overconfident thinking they are prepared to face Covid. Overall the staff are very disorganized, very few protocols in place to deal with Covid, and the service has been terrible.

We didn t arrive until 5:45 PM. Our hotel room was supposed to be ready at 4 PM and it wasn t ready when we checked in. They seem to be short cleaning staff so there was a rush to clean the room. When we got inside there was dirt on the floors, used smore cooking sticks in the closet, and food stuck on the plates. During our stay we asked for towels 3 times and they never got delivered.

The gym is a total disaster. There s nobody there to sterilize equipment between uses. Even if hotel guests are responsible for sterilizing equipment themselves they don t have the proper sterilization wipes and sprays within the gym.

The hotel restaurant Cottages is like Denny s. If you get wine by the glass chances are it s going to be off. We got salmon for our son and it was under-cooked, raw inside, and had to be sent back. It was one constant mixup after another and very slow service.

The front desk staff seem to be clueless and not communicating with the other employees. It s also very unprofessional and ironic that they are enforcing a strict indoor mask policy and yet they re wearing their masks on their chins and not covering their noses.

The cherry on top is the assignment of beach cabanas and pool chairs. It s like an African watering hole. You would think during this Covid era they would be more organized and have a cabana rental or at least some sort of reservation system. Instead, hotel guests are fighting over chairs, nothing is sterilized, and this whole concept of physical distancing is equivalent to snuffleupagus. It just doesn t exist here.

Overall, it s overpriced considering we are paying $700 a night. Save your money, stay in Bracebridge or Gravenhurst. Enjoy their local beaches and have zero expectations and ultimately have more fun and feel more safe.

The staff were great especially Larson who was so nice! The place has made very nice renovations!

Our experience was great with the exception of the Deck restaurant. We waited one and a half hours for 2 pizzas . They only have one pizza oven and everyone orders pizza. There were tables beside us that were waiting for as long as we did for pizza. It was ridiculous. The room service also did not come to our room during the day and had to call the lobby twice to ask for a room turn over.

Went to this place for this first time in August of this year and I must say...we absolutely loved it so much that we ve become regulars and have been 3 times in a span 3months.

Top notch hospitality and such an amazing customer service! They care so much for their guests and the property is just phenomenal! No words to describe how amazing this place is!

Our kids have completely replaced going to Niagara Falls for JW!!!

To add, we met an amazing server who was absolutely amazing, he s probably one of the most caring servers we have come across! Sweet, friendly, so caring and very pleasant! His name is PAL. Hence the name, he is super FRIENDLY!!!

We ve just arrived back home today and are already looking forward to going back for Family Day long weekend!!!
