I really loved it! They had like everything there. The hotel was really nice. The staff were really friendly. Great tour guides on the bike tour. Alex and Sam were the best tour guides I ever met. I really want to come back!

Pros:

Pros:
1) Views are stunning
2) Pools are warm
3) Hotel lobby looks modern and relatively new
4! Chop House restaurant has good food. Healthy options.

Cons:
1) NO nightly entertainment during the weekdays. Only a band on Friday and Saturday s and the band is ok . Other than that nothing.
2) NOT a lot of options for kids food at The Deck restaurant. Just one option for them.
3) NOT a lot of daily activities for kids. You find yourself stuck at the pools and splash pad (which really only squirts when you play with a water gun and sit on a teeter totter).

We ended up playing for additional activities through SOAR (third party vendor that supplies jet ski and inflatable activities) but other than that they hotel doesn t really offer too much.

Overall very average service with stunning views.

Stayed recently using points. Quite an awesome location and great access to the lake and views. Rooms are underwhelming compared to similar luxury hotels in the same league. I mean even for peak season high 700's sounds like a rip-off but I guess they charge it because people are paying. Overall an amazing place if you don't mind shedding some $$

Somewhat disappointing!

Somewhat disappointing!
Great location.
Great views.
But vieesy are god given.
To which the hotel benefits.
Signage is lacking.
What signage!!!!!
Would I come again.....now that is the question.
As for the Marriott.....well...I'm not sure it meets the Marriott recognised standards!!!
Will I be back here....I don't really think so.
I was with great company...however the hotel was lacking....
Room service.....what room service.
Just some observations.....

Wow, what a great place to escape from everything!...

Wow, what a great place to escape from everything! I travel a lot but this resort definitely stands out. We went there with friends and it was hotel's 10th anniversary. So many different activities for all ages and most of them are free. Great staff: thank you very much Liz for checking us in and arranging connecting rooms! Thank you Brenda for making our dinner at Teca Italian restaurant absolutely special. Amazing genuine service and great knowledge! Andrew was incredible during the nature walk! Concierge arranged all of our activities and showed high level of professionalism (sorry, the name slipped my mind Matthew? Michael?). Meghan at the front office has been taking care of our friends every single time they stayed there and was always making sure that their stay is personalized. Photographer was amazing - Heather - thank you! Our only concern was the level of service at the lobby restaurant. Food was good but our waiter didn't bring his A game. Otherwise, great staff and great stay! We sang Christmas carols, drank hot chocolate, played bingo, went on a nature walk, played board games and pool, swam outside, had an astronomy session and so many other great activities! Thank you JW and Janica for making this great stay happen!

This resort is amazing. I have been lucky enough to get to stay here a few times for work. This place is like something you see in the movies. The nature encapsulates the resort making you feel like you are home. Everything is gorgeous. The food is amazing and I love the indoor out door pool. You don't see many of those. It is to be expect but the price of food and drink is quite expensive but not so much so that it hampers the experience. Great for a vacation or romantic get away. Highly recommend visiting if you can.

Beautiful location. Staff was very friendly and professional. Had asked them to before hand to deliver fruits and chocolates to the room before check in for a surprise. Unfortunately, they failed to execute it. We were compensated with free snacks from the sundry store as an apology. Room service can take sometime but the food was very good. Cottages was good value for lunch, but perhaps a little overpriced for breakfast. The Rosseau spa was very tranquil and the RMTs were very nice. Sadly, the spa's private outdoor pool and hot tub were closed due to mechanical issues. However, they did have another pool that was open to all hotel guests to use. The downside to that is there are many children there if you're looking for a calm and quiet swim.

Lovely setting -- especially beautiful in autumn to see the gorgeous colors of changing leaves. Relaxing spot where you can rent canoes, swim in the lake, take yoga classes or hit the spa. Clearly a go to spot for the Muskoka crowd as we passed Martin Short on our way in to check-in!

Exceptional service and friendly vibe even when hotel was packed. Weather wasn't great so enjoyed spa offerings and sampled various restaurants and checked out neighbouring little towns. Saw cute shops, art galleries, charming coffee shops and lunch spots. Nice, relaxing get away.

This review is not for this hotel but of Marriott hotel brands entirely
I have been staying with Marriott brand hotels now for 5 years and spent over $20000 and I stay for the points program.
Over the past few stays especially the hotels in the US we have had very dirty rooms and even wrote the hotels directly. No response back or lack there of care.
I am currently on hold with Bonvoy points as I recently stayed in New Jersey and they do not want to qualify my four night stay for rewards
I ve told them I will no longer stay with Marriott after I cash out my outstanding points over this and the many problems we have been seeing over the years.
No one should stay at any of these hotels as they are becoming very outdated and their staff are more then unfriendly when bringing up a problem. I rarely get room service to save them time even.
So frustrated with this company as a whole and will switching to immediately to Hilton brand hotels

Did not have a great experience our last time there. Our bill for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a handful of drinks mixed in, was about $750 for a family of four for a day, combined with nearly $500/night accomodations. I know it's Muskoka and everything is more expensive. But I didn't really see the value in $15 per glass wine, or a $35 breakfast buffet with not a huge selection. The food is very tasty and we enjoyed all our meals. I just didn't feel good about the bill every time it came.

Nearly everything was pay-to-play, even the kids' water playground was $30 for a day pass. Most of the pools I tried were dirty with lots of bugs floating, although most of the resort is kept pretty clean.

I forgot my bathing suit in the washroom of our suite, and it has been BRUTAL getting a hold of anybody about it. I have left three messages for the lost & found department and spoken to multiple people, none of which have been able to give me an answer. Bathing suits don't just grow legs and walk away.

I just don't think I would go back here again.

Can't be believe such a treasure exists so close to Toronto. We were passing through and decided to get lunch. We were just blown away.

We've already made plans to come back next weekend!

The property and hotel are incredible. The room and views are amazing. Very nice and clean. We stayed in June, right after they re-opened. We were disappointed with the check in, very chaotic, we were given our room 45 min late. That was after I complained many times and spoke to many different people. Finally the manager gave us our keys but did not give us much of an orientation or the schedules ect.. The service was terrible, the servers on the patio need to have their hygiene addressed, its not what I want to smell when I'm eating.

I would give 2 stars, I bumped it up to three, just because it was during the pandemic. However that is no excuse considering the prices I paid, very expensive. I expect better from a upper tier hotel. If they weren't prepared shouldn't have opened up.

A Muskoka treasure nestled on one of the most picturesque lakes in the area. Rooms are clean and well appointed with nice amenities. The hotel is equipped with a very nice spa as well as several pools including a wading pool for the little ones. For those of you that enjoy water sports this location is second to none with plenty of things to do on the lake. Some equipment such as kayaking and canoeing is included in your stay with other more exciting adventures such as jet skiing, boating, or zip lines at an additional cost. The hotel has several varied dining experiences from family style buffet meals to more intimate steak or Italian options. The hotel is approximately 12 years old at the time of this post. Renovations to the lobby area of the hotel are scheduled for early 2018. All in all I give this one 4 stars if you are looking for a family summer getaway put this one on your bucket list.

We planned a last minute weekend getaway to Lake Rosseau and stayed at the JW Marriot. It was an amazing experience. Lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Ken S. was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Service at the JW Marriott is impeccable! Coming from someone with a hotel background and who has travelled around the world, this means a lot! But where the Rosseau Muskoka Resort falls short is the F&B! I would struggle to give it a 3 out of 5! It is a terrible shame. I know the staff works extremely hard but why they cannot produce decent food in any of their F&B outlets is a crime, especially at the prices they charge! The F&B Director and the Executive Chef should be fired. You do an injustice to the hotel. Example: Christmas eve dinner buffet consisted of 3 bowls of WILTED salad greens and an assortment of dressings and not a composed salad in sight. The main course was overcooked luke-warm roast beef accompanied by delicious honey glazed carrots and mashed potatoes that was hotter than the beef. The other choices for main course was a vegetarian udon stir fry which was left sitting in the chaffing dish for far too long and pitiful small fillets of breaded tilapia. Next night we decided to give the even more expensive TECA restaurant a try. Portions were ridiculously small, main course prices started at $30+ and really, nothing to write about. This is supposed to be the crown jewel of their restaurants, however we left even more disappointed than the night before. Not even were we impressed by dessert - stale torte! So the moral of this was story ... Come and stay at this beautiful resort, but make reservations elsewhere for dinner! It's worth the drive to leave!

Staff was very attentive and took care of all our needs. Food was great and cocktails (except one bartender) awesome.

Biggest issue was how long it took to get food. Yes, it's fresh and great, but way too slow. Cocktail tended to fill up down time...

I came here for the family day weekend with my wife for a romantic getaway. The place is very beautiful and romantic but we picked the wrong weekend....it was filled with families and kids. With that said we still had a wonderful time. The room was perfect, we had a wonderful view of the lake. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We got a couple's massage at the spa, it was absolutely incredible. The spa and the amenities were very nice and relaxing. We will definitely be coming back again! Summer or winter. Prefect getaway!

Great location and comfortable rooms. Food quality at the patio restaurant was very disappointing. Water sports were not ip to the standards. Few kayaks and a couple of canoes to cater for a massive resort.. very disappointing as well. No electric vehicle charging. Seriously!! On whixh planet does the management live? Planet Exxon Mobil??

The place is beyond wow. We went here for a 3 day work conference. Large hall. The staff help you out as soon as you pull in. Surrounded by lake rosseau and its beautiful scenery. the rooms are gorgeous, the food is 3/5. They have a fitness centre, and indoor and outdoor pool and hottub. You can go zip lining, ice fishing and more. Saw a few deer here as well. Their coffee can use some improvement though.

Rooms were clean, staff extremely welcoming and pleasant throughout the entire stay. The property was recently renovated and even the spaces which have not were immaculately maintained. Stayed overnight and attended a professional event where the catering, service and food was delivered in high quality fashion. Beyond that, the property had gorgeous view and even had the outdoors well shoveled and salted should guests wish to get a glimpse in the snow. My only opportunity was that the blackout curtain in my room was missing the "rod" for adjustments thus my morning was more "illuminated" than I'd like.

A beautiful hotel in a magical setting. Visited with 200 of my closest friends at a work conference. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless and the staff was friendly and accomodating. Would return in a heartbeat!

Our mother daughters getaway was thoroughly enjoyed at JW.
Loved our room with balcony overlooking the lake. Food was excellent. David at the front desk was so helpful and a joy to deal with. Drinks were absolutely fantastic. The surprise bottle of Reif wine and miniature cheesecake were such a surprise for my birthday. The spa was exceptional. Sadly we couldn't enjoy the outdoor private pool and hot tub because of the rain. Fortunately they did have an indoor hot tub and well appointed shower, eucoliptis steam sauna, foot message, best chair message, etc. The only issue we had was not being told of the large conferance staying for 2 of the days, which took over the Cottage reataurant which did have the only outdoor patio. I would recommend they let guess know before hand. Thank you for a great time.

Beautiful location and an amazing high end resort. Lots of activities amd things to do including a golf course desogned by Nick Faldo that is almost too challenging even if you are a decent golfer. Rooms are large and very clean with quaint, cottage inspired decor.

Guests were not provided receipts for their corporate stay. I have since submitted 3 different requests and have received a run-around each time. First being told that the guests themselves must request a receipt and that I cannot request it to be sent to their address on file. Not even my email, THEIRS! That they themselves must call and leave a message for someone to eventually get around to sending it directly to them. Second, a completed the online receipt request form on their website. A week later and still radio silence. Third, I tried to call again and see if I could speak to someone else and request the receipt to be sent directly to my managers whose names are on file for each of the rooms. I was transferred to the accounting department, the voice message tells you to press zero if you would like to request a receipt. Someone answers tell me that I actually need to leave a message to request a receipt and they direct me to a voicemail box where they tell me to leave a message for anything other than requesting a receipt and someone will get back to me within a couple business days. I am not even trying to get them to send it to me. Just to the person on the account. I was the one who even made the reservations. What does a girl have to do to get some help?!
Such terrible customer service, I am in awe. Terrible experience.

We have stayed here both in the winter and summer and always love it. Beautiful resort. Fantastic service and delicious breakfast in the restaurant. Impeccable rooms with all of the amenities you need. Great atmosphere as well.

Beautiful hotel, but quite possibly the worst service imaginable. They are always understaffed in the fall/winter and the quality of front line staff is embarrassing. There s never a bellman to greet you at valet and help empty the car, on multiple occasions we had to find someone to just to take the keys. The staff at the front desk usually looks lost and the most common response they can offer is I don t know . Clearly a severe lack of training. They desperately need to invest in people, especially when they charge $400+/night for a room. Sad considering how beautiful the property is.
