Outstanding staff, especially Paul at the front desk who was extremely helpful through out our stay at this JW Marriott.

The rooms and the views are great. All I can say is avoid the restaurants.
We had a fantastic time out at Starr Pass. They provide an amazing venue for events.
Birthday girl had a blast! Great atmosphere and spectacular service. I'll be back!
I have been to many resorts in Tucson for events and JW at Starr Pass is my favorite. I prefer the view at Skyline of course but the drive up to JW is always relaxing. Parking is very convenient with the recent addition to the parking garage. The staff is always friendly and the interior is lovely. I have not stayed overnight but have been to over 15 events held at the resort, and when I hear an event will be at Starr Pass I am excited everytime.
Went for drinks. Got some wings and they were good even though they were all drumsticks. Drinka were pricey but it was worth it, because the JW was so nice and awwsome games and fun things to do. I highly recommend bringing a date there to impress him or her. We whooped up on some employees in corn hole and ping pong, so step up your game next time.
Great room! Dinner at the Signature Grill was a miss..our pork chops were raw and chicken mole was too sweet. However, the staff was very understanding and they fixed it right away. Full breakfast buffet is great! Location was perfect for family getaway.
Fantastic place to visit. great service and the food was great.
Awesome setting for the resort, it's very clean and the start was very nice. I had some interaction with the management and they were fantastic. I would love to visit again soon.
Great Resort with beautiful views & a great staff. Monsoon falls was a fun swim & the service is great.
Security guard needs to take a horse-sized chill pill. Everything was nice and the rooms were clean, though.
The Hashani Spa was absolutely incredible! Wonderful and caring staff! I felt pampered, support, and cared for my entire visit! My mani and pedi look gorgeous too!
I surprised my boyfriend with a mini staycation. I have stayed at this resort before and it s known to be a very nice hotel. Our reservation said we had 1 King bed room. This was not the case. They put us in a big suite with a pull out queen Murphy bed. There was a sofa, chairs and a large dining room table..plus a little side room with a refrigerator and sink. The room was falling apart!! The doors to open the Murphy bed were broken and crooked. The bed was janky, and coated with an old thin blanket. The cushions on the chairs were ripping. My boyfriend was mortified and I was quite embarrassed.
This suite needs a serious upgrade. We could have made the space work for us if it hadn t of been so dated. Instead, I go down to the front desk and ask for the King room we reserved. The front desk staff was extremely nice and patient with me. The woman went and asked her supervisor in the back what she could do for us. The supervisor told her all she can do was put us in a double queen room on the first floor.
Knowing how worn down the suite was, we agreed and took the room on the first floor. This new room was not great either. It smelled of sewer and my feet were black after walking across the floor once!
We get away to be taken care of, to sleep in a king bed that we reserved, to relax in a clean environment (esp. during COVID). We almost left to go home...but we got some nachos and made the most out of it.
This is supposed to be one of the nicer resorts in the area. Each staff member we came in contact with was fantastic which is why I left 2 stars, but the hotel itself needs a major uplift.
We will take our staycations to another resort and we will not be returning to StarPass.
Great food and top notch accommodations in a beautiful part of the country.
I like best westerns better. Most definitely La Paloma is the best here in Tucson. The faded exterior made it disappointing to arrive for sure. Along with the small shower with $20 shower head...small tub. The two stars is for the view and the amenities the $29 resort fee includes, customer service is good here too. I mean its a decent hotel, just not for the price that was paid. I will not be staying again unless it includes a free round of golf and a spa treatment or is only $89 a night.
Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. This place has ot all for your relaxing vacation, mountain bike trails out the front door, pools with a beautiful backdrop and proximity to some of the most epic road rides Arizona has to offer. Oh, golf too if you're into that sort of thing.
Excellent customer service, people serving food are very friendly and quickly respond to need and desires. The food is typical hotel case but service made ut taate better.
Attended Simpleview Summit conference and was stranded with several other passengers for 2 extra days by airlines - JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass stepped up and made this a great two "vacation" for myself and colleagues with over the top service, checked flights and transportation for us. Service and food was great. Can't wait to come back!
The view and the grounds are gorgeous. The rooms are very comfortable.
I went to star pass for a hiring event, and everything about the resort was beautiful. The location had an absolutely gorgeous view of Tucson and the service from the staff was excellent and friendly. It is a must go for people outside of Tucson ( for the pure Arizona feel) and even Tucson locals!
Beautiful rooms with great views and friendly staff.
Amazing. Never knew this place was hidden up in the pass. The wildlife was unexpected being so close to town
Wonderfull place to decompress. Service is great and in house restaurants are very good with ample portions.
Amazing accommodations and very friendly staff. The building blends into the landscape like it was meant to be there.
Great place to get some sun by the pool/lazy river, let the kids play, and relax and enjoy letting time just roll by. Restaurants are alright, however the Salud bar is great. Staff here is extremely hospitable.
a great place for conferences in Tucson. Food is good too. Staff is always wonderful in my experience.
Amazing views! Service is wonderful people are friendly and willing to serve.
It was very clean when I checked in. They were very accommodating.
Fabulous! Never thought I would find a resort of this standard. Impeccable service, lovely views, awesome food. I will definitely be back!
Beautiful scenery, it makes most desert views fall to their knees. Great resort awesome staff, really good food definitely worth staying here. The reason I gave it only four stars instead of five is simply because they seem to lack screen doors for their rooms with balcony views. this causes an issue when you want to have the door open at night, and you have the TV on or one of the lights on or all the lights on you get bombarded by a lot of moths and tiny little flying things. I'm not really a person who gets bothered by bugs but it does get a little disturbing when they're just flying around everywhere. Other than that no complaints whatsoever.
Great experience. Polite and helpful staff. The service provided for the professional event were great
HUGE, pretty dang cool interior design. Descent rooms.
I would give this place at least a 4 star, however with all the restrictions; all the services withdrawn, it is not yo great a stay. In keeping with JW Marriott the people were amazing! However, a very difficult place to stay right now. Most services are withdrawn.
Absolutely beautiful . Great for adults and kids . Super easy to get to .
The lazy river had garbage all around it. We saw multiple guest just throwing their trash down with little to no regard to anyone. For the amount of money, one would think people would not do that.
I live in tucson, and I have heard a lot about how cool this resort is. I took my family one day afternoon and sat by the pool. The view is breathtaking. The service they have is amazing. The offered free juices for my kids. It sucks that they don t have much of hot beverages. They only offer hot chocolate which is ok and americano coffee which is ok as well.
The seating area by the pool with the fire on is what you really need in the winter. I will definitely come again and again, and maybe one day I will get a room and try the swimming pool in the summer.
Absolutely my favorite resort in Tucson. From the moment that you arrive at the valet, to the beautiful drive out, the level of service, entertainment, and luxury are unmatched in Tucson. The highlights are the tequila toast at sunset and of course the amazing lazy river. Nothing beats a day of floating on the river and truly relaxing!
Came here for a business conference for a few days. Hotel rooms are clean and nice, closer to 4 star than 3 for sure. Hotel has amazing amenities, better fitness room than most 5 star hotels, hiking and biking paths, insane views, a beautiful golf course, a great bar outside by the fire pit, a nice lobby, and an actual Starbucks in the hotel. Regardless of the features, the service was excellent and the staff were extremely accommodating.
I only eat Kosher food, and there was none in Tucson. I came in from Phoenix and brought in daily meals prepackaged by a kosher restaurant there, and the hotel kitchen staff heated my food at no cost and served it to me in their restaurants within 30 minutes notice. I drove them crazy with requests, and everyone from concierge, wait staff, and the chefs did anything I asked.
Every time I got a drink, the staff told me not to worry about paying for it, though I argued and paid.
I've been to many 5 star resorts throughout the US (St Regis, Ritz Carlton, W), and I have to see that this 3-star resort shown more accommodation than all of them. Highly recommend for couples and business guests (assuming your conference is at the hotel).
Very cool place, only draw back being the prices on food and beverage. 5 star pricing, 3 star food. Our server at the pool Cassandra was Amazing!
The resort is beautiful. It was a very busy weekend and there were a lot of people. The suite was beautiful and everyone was very nice. I was impressed with the staff the service and the accommodations. Would definitely go back again
This was not our idea of a resort - at all. The adults were all drunk and the little kids were running around everywhere unsupervised. There was not a single employee to be found minus the ones serving food and drinks to the adults and they clearly cared about nothing other than their tip. There were no tubes for the lazy river since the drunk adults shoved them behind their chairs on the deck and guarded them so when their rotten kid was done jumping off the bridge or throwing connect 4 game pieces like frisbees they would have them. I honestly could not find one employe to speak to about the problem.
Overall, the place was crowded, swarmed with bees, and filled with trash - even the next day we saw the same trash under the chairs and on the deck that was there the day before. Instead of removing the trash they had a maintenance guy come out and spray the trash with soap water to keep the bees away - ridiculous. Also, the only working hot tub was filled with 20+ 8 and under kids with no supervision - another rule broken without anyone around to enforce or inform. That seems to be the theme of this place, lots of rules with zero enforcement. I guess they expect their intoxicated parents to do that for them, but the reality is they are more interested in their parent's money than ensuring all the resort guests have fun. They seem to cater to the demographic of drinking parents with kids 8 and under. We brought our two kids ages 16 and 13 and they were ready to leave about the same time we were.
The worst part about this "resort" is there is absolutely no place to escape the awful kids. Resorts like this need an adult area that has their own hot tub and pool. There is no way we will ever go back or tell our friends we had fun. Whoever runs this place needs to be fired.
the event was fabulous but the hotel wasnt as nice as i would expect for the price of the rooms and they didnt have the room i reserved with the sleeping setup desired so that will be a big part of the star rating. but all in all it was a good experience.
Was a five star. Unfortunately this place has gone down hill.
To many bees around pool, dining area. There were so many bees they closed/ kicked us out of restaurant.
Our first night we were sitting on the patio out in front of the resort. We ordered some food, waited an extremely long time just to have the wait staff give it to the wrong people. We then once again had to wait for our food which ended up not being worth the wait in the first place.
They don't keep the place clean. There is blackened gum all over the patios.
We brought our kids because there's normally lots of activities, Unfortunately once again this was a letdown. We were told the activities director had changed and you could definitely tell it a changed... not for the better.
We were getting ready in the room to head down and have something to eat. We were washing our hands and went to turn the faucet off when the cold water faucet broke and just continuously ran with no way to shut it off. The maintenance staff did come up to the room fairly quickly to turn the supply to the sink off. We told them we didn't want to wait for them to repair the faucet. The guy told us he would have to replace the entire handle.
The final straw was floating around the lazy river and having a staff member spraying water that was splashing directly onto US from the garbage. Disgusting. Not what you would expect from a "resort". We will never be back.
JW Marriot has a reputation of a five star anywhere you go. Top notch on all levels.
The room was awesome and the views were amazing. The staff was great... I'm definitely going back.
Went here recently for our anniversary and loved it! Some of the most amazing views around this property.
Stopped in for a coffee at one of the nicest Starbucks I've ever seen. Beautiful hotel, can't wait to stay there!
The hotel is in a gorgeous area overlooking Tucson. There is a an amazing golf course here and restaurant. The hotel rooms are clean and the customer service is fantastic.
Attended a work event. The location was gorgeous, the resort is decorated beautifully for Christmas. Staff was attentive and helpful.
It is a 5 star hotel. It has three pools. Spa service. Gym. Fitness room. All very friendly. Amazing view :)
There are free apples, and delicious gourmet water.
Been Coming Since they opened!! Excellent !! Clean! Great Service
Beautiful location. The hotel is spacious and beautifully appointed. There are several restaurant options in varying cuisines. Our room is just behind the elevators, which we can hear at all times we are in the room. I would highly consider additional sound proofing. Additionally we were DOUBLE charged for our entire stay after our first night, however, the manager was able to resolve the problem for us and made us feel taken care of!!
Fabulous view. Loved the poolside/Happy Hour shrimp kabobs. Delicious. Staff is friendly & efficient.
Understaffed. No social distancing enforced. Long delays. I am a loyal Marriott customer, I am so disappointed Marriott and the JW experience. I can go on .. with the list of snafus.. I expected so much more from the brand and leadership. Now is not the time to fail, wake up.
Came here for the #rmuc17 conference. They have been clear and far the best location we had.
Beautiful place excellent customer service will definitely repeat
This resort is beautiful . Staff are friendly . Everyone is super nice!!
Absolutely wonderful and beautiful amazing Hospitality staff Spa exceptional. I would highly recommend the Executive Suite the view is absolutely stunning... amazing and gorgeous sunset. Definitely looking forward for future visits and hitting the spot again
Great hotel. Great service. Great view. Well worth everything.
Had a frustrating lunch experience as we had to wait over a half hour to get seated and then it took an hour for us to be served. While the food was delicious, having conference attendees in line for lunch with hotel guests is absolutely crazy!
Rooms are your typical hotel room but you get your moneys worth with the amenities and the views. The morning hike and the "all my relations" speech afterwards are a must.
Beautiful view, stunning atmosphere, great rooms, amazing view
