Totally the best Hot Cross Buns in the uk. Cant recommend this local bakery enough.
Everything about this local bakery is good, there's always a queue when I go (mid morning to lunchtime). Support your local shops.
Still the best bakers in Brighton. Great bread, wonderful pastries and the best hot cross buns I ve tasted, the queues on Good Friday are proof that they are good. Ravens have been there for ever, so they must be doing something right. They don t do everything, but what they do they do very well
The best bread at Fiveways, wonderful sausage rolls, and something new to tempt you every time you visit, and all for a reasonable price. The heart of Fiveways for decades!
I recommend a large white Danish, the knotted poppyseed rolls, and sausage rolls. Hot cross buns at Easter!
This is old school baking at it's best. All baked on the premises and cheap as. The Scotch eggs are insane!!
Probably the best HCBs in the World - well worth the Good Friday wait!
Lovely homemade bakery. Lots of choice of pastries, cakes & bread.
Ravens consistently makes some of the best bread I've ever had. Go early and it's still warm. Eat it within a few days as it doesn't have preservatives in (not that it lasts that long). They do great chocolate squares too! But you have to get in early before they have all gone!
Queue for hot cross buns goes halfway up the street. Says everything you need to about this place
Amazing friendly place really adds to the community
Good old fashioned bakers shop, long may they reign!
Love the donuts and iced buns here, great old fashioned bakery
Best Jam doughnuts ever! Well priced bread and savory snacks!
The taste of the rolls .... the crispy jam doughnuts are lovely ... but the woman I don t know if it s just the way she is but she doesn t make you feel welcome I think !
Very popular bakery within the Fiveways Community. Great bread, good selection of savoury items and nice sweet treats all priced reasonably.
One of the last and best independent bakerys. So nice having warm bread
I got discriminated because of my ethnic background
Great bread and cakes. We come from Lewes to pick up our sunflower seed loaves regularly! The doughnuts are amazing and I love the fruit crumble cakes and the spinach and ricotta pastries.
Lo be Ely friendly service too. Proper hot cross buns at Easter too!!!
OMG, what a find! Not a sourdough starter in sight and packed with iced buns, chelsea buns, Jam doughnuts, white split tin loaves, granary loaves: I'm in heaven! It took all my self control not to have everything, but I went for a jam doughnut which looked perfect and was, in fact perfect: crispy, sugary, just the right amount of jam. We also bought a granary loaf and I haven't tasted bread like it for years, again it was perfect: crispy crust, soft middle, full of flavour it's just the right texture and perfect with butter and marmite.
This is the place where I always buy bread. Chinese people are run, so it suits Japanese people. Although it is not as good as Japan, it is useful because it sells white and soft bread.
The price is also very cheap. You can come from the city by bus number 26 or 46, so I think it's worth visiting at least once.
However, students from nearby high schools often come to buy, so it may be sold out in the afternoon.
Really the best 'not so secret' bakery to buy awesome hot X buns.
Love Raven's. Their baked goods are better then other bakers and taste so good. The veggie sausage rolls are really good, and I'm not even a vegetarian let alone a vegen.
Excellent traditional family baker. The small cobber is a brilliant loaf.
Really great food and cake tray bakes. Get there early though as it does seem to sell out of the good stuff quite quickly.
Old fashioned, tasty, simple and the potato hotdogs are full of flavour hot or cold.
Whilst I am not a Raven's regular, preferring to support our own, local, bakery, this is certainly the best bakers in Brighton, probably Sussex.
Unpretentious, cheap and excellent quality bread and other baked products.
Everything I ve tried from this bakery is loud from the pastries to cakes, but it s always sad to miss out on the Balti pies
Love Ravens. Great value savoury pastries and proper cakes for the kids.
I drive from Shoreham as often as I can for Ravens bread love love it
The bread they make is very tasty. Great service all time
Bit of an institution. Old fashioned independent bakers.
No sourdough though.
The best bakery i've ever been to, the chocolate brownies have been a big thing in my lif for 24 years
Famous local bakery with friendly staff and freshly made selection of breads cakes sandwiches rolls pies sausage rolls tray bakes hot and cold drinks. Loyal customers and shelves don't stay full for long. Too many favourites to mention. Give them a try you won't regret it.
Cracking traditional bakers, no frills tasty bread and cakes at non-artisan prices with friendly service.
Very popular local bakery. Pies, cakes, bread sandwich's.
Cheap for what you get and excellent food, Truly a local legend.
About as traditional as you can get. Best baker in Brighton
Hot cross buns to die for. So full of fruit.... Divine. Sausage rolls aren't bad either!
Old fashioned non chain bakery.
Great prices and good quality
Old school bakery, cakes and pasties the way they used to be. Sometimes queues for the hot cross buns at Easter time.
Find this great place on the corner of Sandgate Road and Ditchling Road
Excellent local bakery, great bread, snacks, sandwiches and treats. And very friendly!
This bakery has been here for YEARS! They do some really love apple cake that is so moist and full of fruit. The bread is baked on premises and on Saturdays the queue will go out the door. Love this place.
