Came here for the golf course, which is fantastic. Everything top notch in that experience. Takes at least 4 hours to play 8, so be prepared. However, I did also take a peek around the hotel. It's a JW without question, and despite that I live 15 minutes away, I'll probably get away with my wife or golfing buddies one of these days. The views alone are worth it
Great resort, great pool. Food options were pricey but good. Only knock was them closing the pool all afternoon for an event...
This is a full up resort with golfing, spa, quality dining, and more pools than you know what to do with. Not too many people here in the summer so you get the place to yourself.
Very nice doorman, the hotel staff at the desk weren't very friendly. The rooms themselves were nice but the signature grill was horrible.
Staff is curteous, view is beautiful, the whole stay is fantastic.
OMG!!! How does this place even have any stars!?!? The staff was really rude, my weekend was not so nice because of the people that work here at night maybe the morning shift is better but the night weekend employees are not very helpful.
Great hotel with a nice golf course. Kids love the lazy river pool with a water slide.
Nice enough hotel. I have stayed there numerous times. I live out of the country and booked a recent trip. I had to cancel due to health. They now have not a 24 hr cancelation but a 72 hr cancelation. No flexibility. I got stuck for a night. I understand 24 hrs not 72 sorry. I called and no flexabilty. Going forward i will make alternate accommodation plans.
Hotel staff where friendly and professional and accommodating despite new large groups of hundreds of guests coming in that day.
Room was comfortable and large with plenty of space. Especially appreciated ease of connecting laptop to TV with the connection panel in the room.
Food provided for the event was tasty from lunch the first day to breakfast the next. Of course also in a beautiful location!
Attended military dining out at the resort. Facility was beautiful, staff were pleasant and food was amazing. All in all was a great evening.
Played a round at the star pass. Rattler and roadrunner. Over priced. Course should be a lot nicer. Greens were over-watered and swampy while the fairways were like concrete. The hotel seems nice enough, didn't stay there, though. They have a lazy river.
Overall a very nice place. Setting is nice but a bit far from other restaurants for the more adventurous who have the desire to sample other parts of Tuscon. They do a good job with ambiance and service. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful.
The big problem we experienced in March was kid noise. The pool areas are like daycare facilities making it impossible to sit by any pool other than the lap pool. The lobby and restaurants were also echoing with screeching and squealing kid noise at times. We need more adult only hotels at this level.
They definitely gouge you on fees. The $39 dollar per day resort fee is a little greedy. You can tell they feel guilty about it by the 5 minute long speel you get about the fee at check in.
The bar was nicely done and the food and background music there was great. Outside the bar was a great place to relax in the morning facing the rising sun.
The stay was nice, beds were comfortable. I like the smart TVs!
Amazing resort tucked away in the Tucson Mountains. Golf courses are amazing (and cheap in summer), the pools are great for family and kids, and the atmosphere is great.
Was a great expierience the food and ambience were superb. Beautiful resort with great star gazing opportunities.
Beautiful room, and an amazing view of Tuscon! Great if you want a relaxing time just outside the city center.
Great place for an event, Beautiful surroundings, and great facilities.
Family oriented, was a lot of fun, everywhere we went the place was really clean, staff was friendly, my husband and I had a great time with our family
Space indoor and outdoors at Starr pass employees always wonderful & accommodating. Our photo booth fits in all the right places Well organized staff, great job real team players! I would go to many events there as it is very professional and love weddings on there outdoor lawn.
They have a Great waitress main Bar & Patio area her name was 'Lovely" Awesome personality & person.
Quiet atmosphere, easy to relax, great people who work here.
The bathtub in our room was dirty, customer service by the poolside was slow.
This has been my second stay the resort. Very nice property with beautiful views and access to a hiking trail. The staff has been very helpful and friendly and very accommodating to our large group.
Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. Definitely going the extra mile to make their guests feel appreciated.
Beautiful place was there for a fun event had blast beer was pricy though
I used Reward Points to stay here for one night. So, I spent money at the restaurants and spa. My wife said the massage was OK, but not work the cost. The hotel was very nice and at night it was quiet.
Excellent place. Beautiful property and very friendly staff. The outdoors areas where beautifully decorated and the food was delicious. The lazy river makes a fun atmosphere for kids.
Very friendly staff and well maintained resort. Great scenery and so much included in the resort fee.
Rooms are nice, beds comfortable. TV could be bigger. It's a high end hotel, feels a lot like it at times. Staff is great and does their best to make you feel like you belong, but clientele sometimes not so much.
I can't say enough good things about this property! The staff was over-the-top helpful, the location and views are breathtaking, the rooms are well-priced and high quality. This is the premier property to stay in the Tucson area.
The view was nice. I gave it 4* for a 5* resort. I was ignored by the bar wait staff because it was near the end of their shift, I just wished they would have communicated with me. Bartenders were excellent. Pool wait staff was understaffed for the number of people there. Valet was excellent.
Can't say enough nice things about this place. Great accomodations, great food, huge range of drinks, amazing staff, perfect location... What's not to love! Just finishing up our third stay and we can't wait to come back.
Resort was at pretty low occupancy during our stay and it was very enjoyable. Loved the lazy river, we spent hours in it. Great views from our 2 bedroom hospitality suite of the surrounding hills.
The resort as a whole was a pleasant experience that's was very attentive and kind and were there to help with anything you need in the location is impeccable was confused and a really awesome cool golf course that into the mountains in a really great ambiance! The only reason I did not read it 5 stars is that I felt that the waiting staff at the restaurant on the main padio could of done a better job. Student resource are drinks very often and didn't come to check on us very often either the food came out pretty quick. We were one chair short for our table of 7 people and it seemed impossible for the management to get us another chair ouch.
Very nice place. I love the fact that there are running/hiking trails directly behind the hotel.
Stunning views, exceptional service. All with a nightly Tequila toast provided JW Marriott.
To the man that complained about the kids all over the place in March...That was a convention that the Hotel booked for the next couple of years on Easter weekend so I suggest you try a different time to visit. As for the resort fee it is way over priced and I agree with the Morning buffet is way over priced and the only other option is Starbucks. Having a high end restaurant is fabulous but something a little bit more modest in price for all of the convention type of people would be wise. I really did not see the rooms as anything but average. Now the staff... The front desk attendants were rude and very unaccommodating and did not leave me feeling welcome at all! When the Manager did step up she was short and curt! I had just came from a friends house that we were working on and was in jeans and a t-shirt and a bit dirty. She treated me like I was beneath her and like she really did not want me there. If she only knew the truth. Be careful who you judge. Now the good part...the bell hops were the best! They went out of there way every time they got the chance. Can't remember his name but the guy that was the restaurant manager for the pool and outside bar area was a gem! I had a last minute problem right as they closed and he went out of his way to get my son a hamburger from the restaurant upstairs. The next day while we were at the pool he was very visible running food for the servers and checking to make sure all the visitors were happy and taken care of. That is how a manager should be! Big Kudos to him! His wait staff was wonderful too. I only gave if 4 stars because of the staff and not the reservation desk staff!
The bed was too firm with pillows that had no support. Ran the tub that obviously hadn't been used in quite a while due to rust coming up the drain.
Beautiful place. Expensive as all get out. I dont think the rooms should be so costly. They arent anything too special from my experiences at resorts, but it is a tourist place. The spa steam room and whirlpool thing was nice. The cabanas were nice. You have to rent the cabanas but there was no one there so we just sat in one for a while by the pool, which was very cold.
In the future, please do not have any activities for Tucson residents at the Starr Pass Marriott as there is no public transportation nor economical shuttle to the hotel. It is a nearly impossible endeavor for the average person with a modest, low or no income to attend any type of meeting there without substantial effort and travel time. (Includes specifically JRP talent scouts for auditions.) But then again, what would this "classy" hotel want with the average resident with holes in their pockets.
Great service until my friends got us 86'd from the hotel bar because the manager said we were to loud.
Attended a social event in the meeting rooms. One meal option was great, the other was not so much, but the staff rectified it without us even asking. The drinks we're pricey but not unusually so.
I spent 5 days vacationing here. The staff were friendly, capable, professional. The meals were delicious. It was pricey, $95 per night, but it was money well spent. I'm already planning for next year.
Self parking is really, REALLY too far from the hotel rooms.
Excellent service! The rooms are really beautiful and very comfortable! The food is so good and so delicious!
This is a very beautiful resort nestled in an amazing part of the Sonoran desert. Highly recommend
We were there to play golf today. Some of the fairways are in rough shape, but it's hard to get natural grass perfection in the desert. The views are wonderful.
Great place for a quick getaway. Relaxing pool and lazy river. Good poolside drinks and food. Rooms are always clean.
The wonderful hotel has amazing amenities, settled in the monsoons just outside of Tuscon. Good is great, service was excellent and the view is amazing. Multiple pools and outdoor areas make it feel private even when it's completely booked.
The resort is beautiful! We were there for a benefit.
It is without doubt the best restaurant in Tucson outstanding food outstanding service and you know how that works it doesn't come cheap but worth every penny you spend
the grounds are lovely and located on a world class golf course. the rooms can be terrific, but on 1 visit my view was of the frontage road outside the resort. the primo restaurant is fantastic!
Wonderful pools staff very friendly. Pool side server michael was amazing we will come again
No adult pools. Lots of kids, great place for kids & family. Not for couples without kids. Rules not enforced at pools. Rooms only serviced every other day, towels, trash, etc. Spa & fitness only available for extra fee. Not a good place for couples..
The staff was slow tree respond to requests. Customer service was pretty poor
Rooms are very nice, property is gorgeous. Excellent internet speed. Food was served cold at three meals.
Service was very nice, sociable, and polite. Restaurants have awesome food. Rooms were clean and presented well.
Went here for a conference. Nice guiding maps placed conviently. Very big and spacious foier area great for large groups. Catering is available upon and food was good.
