I had a great time over at the resort and it is a fun place to bring the family
Very clean, warm, and inviting. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If you're visiting San Antonio this is where you want to be.
On a side note; I so happen to leave my laptop charger in my room and they were kind enough to ship it back to me at no charge. 10/10 Definitely would recommend.
A really nice property but it amazed me how many of their staff members in the hallways are staring at their cellphones checking emails and stuff.
Must stay for people who want a nice resort to stay at who also wants to swim at a waterpark and great service
This place is AMAZING. We had a blast in the slides and the lazy river. We were in the pool literally all day. The food is wonderful as well. If you are looking for a relaxing day away, this is the place!
Stayed at the property for 5 nights with family. First the staff has been excellent. Parking was an issue for us so I opted for valet which was $40 dollars a day. Not cheap but each time we saw folks walking down the hill to get their vehicle I figured it was worth it. I played a round of twilight golf which was $79.00 + tax and included cart and rental clubs. Twilight starts at 4pm and the week we came temps were 80s and enjoyable. Food is what you expect for a resort, be prepared to pay double what you think. Best meal was at 18th hole. Highly recommend the ribeye and a bottle of wine. Best meal we had.
Kids loved the waterpark just be aware a beer is $6.00 and mix drink $13.00 + tax. We had 5 double vodka soda and it was $148.00.
Love this resort. The place is beautiful and kids love the pool
The hotel staff was very nice and the conference rooms was nice.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Very glad I had the balcony room. Food was tasty! Large convention center that will hold very large groups. Exact layout as the J.W. in Phoenix. Only one odd thing, the room's coffee maker was outdated and no lids for the to go cups.
Always a great place to eat or just grab drinks. Rooms are clean and the hotel staff is attentive and very friendly
I wish i could give this resort zero stars! I'm a San Antonian and saddest me to see such poor customer service and horrible attitudes through this establishment. I stayed here May 31 2018. The long lines to check in were very unorganized and hectic. No one could check us in due to the lack of personnel and computers. We waited 45 mins or more to check in. When we finally got our room we went to the pool where it was filled with a heb vendors and again not enough waiters or staff period. We ordered 2 drinks and hummus the drinks were very good, but the hummus was served in a tiny plastic bowl and the veggies were for one person ( maybe) the price for my snack was 98.00. However I did noticed all the fried food was served family style and huge. Then we went to dinner at cibolo room. The waiter was super nice hut the food wasn't. I got sick that night. The following day I had lunch there again with my 2 daughters because there were limited options. The serve this tume was appalling the hostess rolled his eyes when we asked for more room for a wheelchair my daughter is in. Then the waiter had an attitude and rushed the entire meal from start to finished. He never smiled or came to check on us. I still left him a great tip and was polite throughout this experience. I travel 4 to 8 times a year to beautiful locations in the USA. The Montage resort in Laguna beach was my rest stay. If management ever read this long review. Sent your employees to whatever training Montage do. The Montage resort left a beautiful experience and cannot stop telling our friends and family to visit there soon. However I will never recommend your resort. I will NEVER stay at your property. It's sad to think this very beautifully located resort has such a horrible feel due to its management and staff. Please do yourself a favor and find another friendly resort to stay. Do not let the pics and self given reviews FOOL you.
Great place, great restaurants & nice rooms. But they dont have 24/7 mart to get water & etc late night
Excellent accommodations. Large rooms. Very professional and friendly staff.
Solid hotel with a fun pool area...way too crowded though.
Gorgeous property. Amazing golf course. Knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.
Beautiful resort with wonderful amenities wish the pool stayed open later than 10!
I really enjoyed the location. The staff was very helpful and the atmosphere was very nice.
Wonderful
experience at Lantana Spa with Chris.
A real professional! Limited access to spas facilities but the massages and facials are well worth it!
Great place and in a beautiful part of San Antonio too! I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the employees. The rooms were very clean and quiet!!
Rooms ok, too many people and food at hotel average. 18 Oaks is very good but so expensive.
Hello! I wanted to let Marriott know that the service Ryan Lujan gave my family is irreplaceable. As a Marriott member that called in advance plus asked through chat to ensure my 6 month old had a bed reserved, and to find out that the resort did not have enough pack and plays was extremely disappointing. I would have brought my own to ensure the safety of My child. I also offered to purchase a $60 pack and play from target that the resort could keep for a credit and I was told- No. Ryan was able to find a pack and play by 11pm. Bravo! to Ryan-but overall disappointed with Marriotts initial service. If it wasn t for an employee willing to go above and beyond after running into him in the corridor at 10pm-we would not have a place for my baby to sleep safely!
I went to a military ball at this location. I have to say that this place is amazing and the staff are awesome! Great experience.
Amazing place to visit. Great place to honeymoon or bring the family. I just wish The Velocity Restaurant was open all day since there is only one other place to eat inside and the food is nasty. Dry and salty. Love the room, resort and pools. Our beed was not comfortable it was lopsided. Too busy to complain. They charge $18 day to use Wifi. Would love to come back in the future.
I was actually there working a casino party. I like working at the JW Marriott because it's always very beautiful and clean and everyone seems to have a very nice time.
Everything you'd expect from an upscale place. Great water attraction, something you don't get at many hotels. Great beds and rooms. Quiet relaxing place.
It was great. Room was nice and comfy. We loved exploring the place
Awesome resort with an amazing pool. Even the restaurants have gotten better. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick retreat and we'll be back soon.
We recently stayed at the JW Marriott San Antonio, which is one of our favorite properties, and had a great experience and wanted to share some feedback.
The resort is amazing and even on one of the busiest days of the year (July 3-4), we were able to enjoy the waterpark, pool, and resort with our family without feeling like we were stepping all over loads of other people. The resort, and waterpark are laid out where you don't feel that you are packed together when it reaches capacity.
Timothy at the front desk was amazing and really made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. He checked us in quickly and early and made sure our room was ready for us when we arrived. He also helped us with extending rooms for my brother's family and made that process easy. Everytime we came down for any need, we looked for Timothy and he helped us in any way that he could.
Our family still talks about Timothy and how he made our stay wonderful. We will definitely be back to this property as it is one of our favorite, but Timothy really made us feel welcome and cared for.
We will definitely be back for another Staycation!
Thanks!
There's only one word to describe this place. Amazing! I loved every minute of my stay there
Our experience was just okay. The hotel, grounds, room and pool are very nice, and the pool was the highlight of our trip. We were disappointed in several things, however. The hotel was too crowded and this was repeatedly a problem - there was a long line of cars to drop off at the lobby, the pool was so crowded that we had trouble finding lounge chairs, there was about a 15 minute wait in line to get marshmallows for s mores, etc. The lazy river was solid tubes, and it was more like bumper cars than a peaceful float. The 2 worst things were self parking and breakfast. Self parking was full, so we had to park in the overflow lot, on the other side of the conference center - I think many guests would be physically unable to make the long walk back to the hotel, and the alternative was valet parking at a steep $39 per day. For breakfast we waited in line to get on a wait list, then returned when called (after 30 minutes)to wait in a line to be sent to another line at the secondary reception, then waited in line to actually get seated, then waited in line at a chaotic buffet, then got scolded by the line chefs cooking omelets because patrons weren t lining up properly. Just getting to the point of having a plate of food took at least an hour and was not a pleasant experience - it felt more like a cattle call. Finally, we reserved a room with a king bed and sofa and a signature view but our room was ground floor and had two double beds. Unfortunately, we won t be back.
Big property - great slides - but their are options in San Antonio that are equal or better.
Awesome resort. Clean. Large. Kids and I had a great time at the resort. I only wish they had more available appointments at the spa and were open 7 days a week, instead of the 3 days..... Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I had an employee of our dealership go to San Antonio for training, when she arrived with a business credit card, the front desk denied it because it was in the owner of the business's name and not the associate. She did have a letter from the owner of the business but JW Marriott requires authorization to be on their form. While this could have been a very stressful experience to our associate, Justin Greenwood handled everything very professional. He was able to contact me, get me the correct form and get our associate into her room pronto! Thank you Justin, great job and we will surely return to the JW Marriott in San Antonio in the future!
It was well kept. Its ridiculously huge. Im glad they put directories all over that place.
I'm a frequent business traveler and used my Marriott points to book a few days of vacation here with my wife and 4 yr old. It was not the level of service and overall experience one would expect from such an upscale resort.
First, the bad:
-Valet parking is $33 per day. If you don't valet, be prepared for an uphill hike every time you park your car. It could be a long walk unless you get lucky and find a not so far spot.
-We found a few bugs in our room. Just some sort of beetle I think, but my wife was not happy about it, and again shouldn't be found in an upper end resort.
-The food and drink there on property are way too high for what you get. We paid $8 for a peanut butter/jelly sandwich for our son, and it only got worse from there. I'm used to business travel where frankly it is expensed and I don't question it so much, but the prices here are high for a family vacation.
-At the pool bar, we had a
Stayed for 4 nights while my wife attended a conference there. Everything is clean, and the staff is pleasant. Its great of you are looking for a quiet getaway. There is a spa, golf course, small waterpark and eateries on site.
Beautiful hotel and resort grounds. The pool area has a great lazy river and water slides. Restaurants serve up delicious food, but don't expect to eat or drink on a budget, most of the prices comparable to a $$$ - $$$$ restaurants.
The food at cibolo moon was amazing! I love all the pools they have and the lazy river is a great size! The pools are very kid friendly especially the beach
I'm not staying ,but I'm working on site and I have to say thats a dedicated team.Keep those guest happy. Only remember a guest is a person or family you would have in your own home a customer is somebody at a grocery store.
Awesome service, food, and Atmosphere!! They cook their steaks a lot more RARE than I like. Maybe it's a Tx thing!! The COWS aren't MOOing, but their one step from it. But today are the best grilled fish ever.
TPC Golf Course is great, and they have a wonderful water park!
Always great to visit my family on New Years day. Always family friendly
A great place for families with pre-teen kid's. A great pool area with water slides, a lazy river, and lots of seating. Plenty of shaded areas for those hot Texas summers.
While this hotel sits on a TPC golf course and has adult only pools, you won't have a peaceful adult escape. There are tons of kid's having fun. This place is built for families.
A beautiful hotel in a great setting.
Nice place but limited on activities for teens. My 13 yr old was bored out of her mind. Only so much time you can spend at the water park. Food was good in the sports bar, rest was ok.
Impressive facility. I was there for industry convention and couldn't help but notice the tiny chairs they used/set up. Many 'averaged size' men were squeezed shoulder to shoulder awkwardly due to the seating.
Awesome place! Or kids loved the pool and water park. Its also close to Splash world. Highly recommended.
Semi awesome huge hotel that probably should be renovated a bit.
We are here now. There is no social distancing anywhere. The water park looks no different than a regular day. The tubes aren t sanitized between uses. I would not recommend coming here until there s a vaccine or better treatment.
Amazing hotel. Wonderful hospitality. Went for a business trip but would love to go back for vacation. The place is like it's own town in one huge building. Like it's huge.
Very nice and the people are great. Loving San Antonio Texas.
First time staying here. Staff was pleasant. Wife and I received complementary drinks and they had free s'mores that night. The sports bar was cool with their big screens. The water park was fun and had an adults only section. We also tried the spa which was very relaxing.
Awesome spa! Great food in the restaurants and excellent conference facilities!
I just spent a weekend with my family and cannot say anything bad about this property; helpful and friendly staff, great room (upgraded to the Presidential suite), efficient valet parking staff, and all the restaurants, especially 18 Oaks. I highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is extremely clean and grand. Very quiet. I attended a dinner at the golf members lounge and the good was very delicious. Service was good albeit a bit rushed even though we had a good 40 min before it closed. Otherwise it's a good hotel.
Amazing resort! Water features, bars, rooms...all great.
Didn't stay here, but brother lives here and puts our nieces up here when they visit. We came and walked the grounds and had dessert in one of the restaurants. Wow, this place is amazing and the nieces love the rooms/water park. Pricey place but amazing hotel/restaurants/grounds. Pictures don't do it justice...
Lazy river, water slides, food a little pricey, free self parking, valet available, nice rooms. Smores are nice, nice views.
Highly Recommended , Exceed my expectations! Thank you for let me sponsor the Tournament!
This hotel is By far one of the biggest and most beautiful hotels it all of San Antonio. You're very close to the Hill country So you get that beautiful feeling of Beaten in the Hill country when you walk out of the hotel. It's a great place for the kids have a great time At the water park and of course the restaurant's bar and golf course or excellent for adults. The staff at the hotel is excellent and the hotel is always So clean.
Huge facility, lots of pool options for adults and kids. Lazy river is a nice way to relax when not crowded. Just spent one night here to relax from our flight before heading somewhere else for meetings.
I've been to Marriott properties all over the world. This is definitely in my top three. Would honestly stay here over any property in Hawaii. So much to do here. Great place to relax or have fun. The staff is phenomenal and they have 8 nice restaurants on-site. No reason to ever leave once you arrive.
I went there on a school trip. I had never been to San Antonio, nor had I ever stayed in a hotel. I loathed the service. it was just problem after problem. I would get a room key, use it once, then it would stop working. Don't get me wrong, the hotel was beautiful, but so many things you would expect from a hotel were missing. There was barely anything in the room. Mostly, it was the problem with the room keys, you need them for everything, and when they stop, you can't do anything until you get a new one. I would never stay here again.
It's a resort so there is nothing close by. Still cheaper to take a uber to one of the local restaurants or bars. The pool and wading pool are the bomb.
So if you have been to the formerly known as ESPN zone this has one restaurant like that. Wait service is fun and friendly and helpful. On the other side you have Tex Mex and it s not too shabby. The grounds are amazingly well kept, lush, green and if you just want to go for a stroll it is a pleasure.
One of the best resorts I've visited. The rooms were clean and up to date, while the service given by the staff was also great. Will definitely recommend to everyone!!!
The place is REALLY superior. Been twice and looking to return. A little remote but what do you expect being surrounded by good courses. Tge lazy river looks really fun for the kids.
Better than the rest by a big margin. Great service and just an amazing property. Would move in if I could afford it.
Great place to spend New Year's Eve with family and children
1st timer while I was sad none if the slides were open, I enjoyed the fact that they had a adult only pool.
Will write a more detailed review at another time, but does the fact that I'll be making my third visit there THIS WEEK tell you what an incredible location this is? For me personally, and since I can't get to London right now, I can't think of a nicer place to celebrate my upcoming birthday.
