This is an actual 5 star resort. The reason I gave it 4 is because of all the lines you have to wait in. 20 minute que for any of the kid events they have set up. You would think they would have multiple stations for the s'mores and such, but they don't. Pool seating can get very scarce as the day goes on. By 1100 good luck finding seating together for the family. We come here annually and will continue too. I recommend it, just pack some patience.

the stay was most wonderful like i stayed at better places in the world like the staff was very nice to me and my family but i think that valet parking should be free for disabled people like my dad has a war pain and like he can walk but not for long lake for 2 min. and its $30.00 per night for valet is that the price we should pay for my father serving this great country

From the beautiful views, fun water park, relaxing spa, to the world class golf course...The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country has it all. Great service from every staff member I met. They go out of their way to ensure you are satisfied and happy.

It's a very nice hotel and golf course. The service is impeccable. The only detracting that they are so far from the city. Travel 40 minutes and you'll be downtown.

I had a trip paid for by my company to this resort. Everything was beautiful, staff was nice. But when I went to check in, the gentleman charged me a $300 security deposit for the room. I found it odd; being that my company paid for it. I started to ask my friends (who I warned about the deposit) who came at different times and they said no - that it wasn t even brought up. After getting confirmation from multiple parties that they weren t even asked to pay, I spoke to the gentlemen who charged me and he was with somebody else that worked there. The guy who didn t charge me told me it was completely optional and I responded with it didn t feel like it was optional. The guy I spoke to didn t know that his friend was the one who charged me. I looked at him confused and the guy who charged me said maybe my friends credit cards were declined. I stood there and waited for further explanation but he was at lost for words. I get it - I had a Nike hoodie, Nike sweats, Jordan s and I have brown skin, but it s not right that he charged me and not any of my Asian friends, fair skinned Spanish friends and others.
I don t have the gentleman s name but he was working around 5 PM on October 24th, dark hair and he has glasses. I don t care about the money but why me and not them. Either charge everyone or don t pick and choose who to charge.

Not impressed. They overbook and offer little assistance to help find a new hotel. They are notorious for overbooking. Even with confirmations, they won t honor the reservation. Highly unlikely I will stay at a JW again or recommend.

Great getaway for our family that is only about 1 hour away. Our entire family loves the water park especially the water slides. The grounds of the resort are always well taken care of with lots of good food choices on site even a Starbucks.

This is such an awesome and beautiful resort! the best time to come around is during the summer. The resort is HUGE but it's soo clean and the staff are just wonderful! the rooms are very clean and nice. the beds are comfortable and the views are spectacular. The restaurants are very tasty and good as well. My personal favorite part, The waterpark, is soo much fun and the slides are very family friendly. I don't see anything wrong with this hotel. very very highly recommended!!!

Cool

THE resort in San Antonio!

It is a pro level golf course, the largest tv in the world, water slides, drinks, food, you name it... Fun for all ages!

We loved this place!! For the price I would totally go in the summer so you can take advantage of the pool area! The pool area is awesome!! We only ate at the pool side restaurant and it was good. The drinks are good. The room was good. It had a mini fridge which is helpful when you want a cold water late at night!

Love this place for a getaway. The service is absolutely wonderful, and the amenities are exceptional. A resort that feels almost as if you are out of the country due to the size of the property and the hill country surroundings, but still close enough to civilization to make a store run. This was our first time, but we soon saw veterans piling in with coolers, wagons, groceries, etc. as the day to day dining and drink buying on property can get expensive fast. The food choices are pretty good with something for everyone. The pools and lazy river are crystal clear and there are plenty of covered or shady areas to get away from the sun, but you have to claim a pool spot early or you will miss out on the best locations. I would come back to this resort every year for a getaway, and it is now my go-to spot in the San Antonio area. They even have a beach area around one of the pools with plenty of sandcastle tools for the kids and adults alike to build sandcastles. Just make sure to book this place as early as you can, and if possible take advantage of any and all discounts.

Everything in this hotel is oriented towards kids. It was loud into the a.m. hours with kids and doors. The room walls are thin and room quality didn't seem much better than a budget hotel

Great

Unfortunately, our stay here was very disappointing. Upon booking I made sure to ask if all pools were heated as the weather would be cool and my kids would definitely want to swim. I was told yes. When we arrived that was not the case. Only thing heated was the hot tub. The AC is room 4333 was not working and they did not have any other rooms to move us to. So we just had to deal. Way over priced and we will not be returning

Yesterday I attended an event at the spa and was leaa then impressed. What I pictured based on the description of the event and then once we got there didn't match. You paid $30 to attend the cocktail reception stated as having spa demonstrations, class demonstrations, access to spa amenities, pool etc. There were also to be light snacks and one complimentary drink. First, the parking is awful, it was insanely packed (found out after they had valet). You are supposed to arrive early to sign up for either a 5 minute chair massage or hand massage, if you didnt arrive early you lost out. The drink was a small glass of frozen wine, which tasty. There was one vegetarian option out off all the food they offered and it was a empanada. The only spa demonstration I saw was an eye treatment but that too required signing up for. I managed to get signed up for a hand massage which was comprised of a spritz of something in the air and a therapist who applied lotion to both arms and hands, then was done. I didn't come across any other demonstrations, classes, amenities (unless the free citrus water counted). They did allow access to the outdoor pool which was tempered nice. But basically I traveled an hour and paid $30 to drink frozen wine, have hand lotion placed on me and use of their pool. The staff that was working wasn't very warm/welcoming where even that would be an incentive to return. They did give away about 5 gifts thru a raffle at the very end of the event. They had gift bags at the end of the night, which contained 2 small samples like what you'd get at the cosmetic counter in the mall. Would I recommend this if you weren't staying there, no. Otherwise its a basic spa from what I could see. Not worth an hour drive or the $30 I paid for the event.

Main lobby is quite grand. Conference facilities are top notch, and hotel staff are friendly and on point. Room was very nice.. giant tv, nice balcony, nicely done bathroom. Pillows were not great.. bed was comfy but not spectacular. Restaurants are.. middling, at best. Lazy River looks great at night with the colored lights on.. too bad it closes just as they turn on.

I have been staying here once or twice a year since they have openend and it has been great up until this stay. Check in time is at 400pm i rented a room for my daughter in her wedding night on a sunday i figured that it wouldnt be a problem to get early access to the an hour early to decorate. I showed up at 2pm to see if i could check in early and they said they would put a rush on the room and call me when it was ready. 345 and still no call so i had to check in and rush to get the room ready. They told me they would have keys at the desk ready for my daughter. My faughter shiwed up at 5 to get there keys and the desk gave them keys to some other radom room that had other guest in it. She then had to take all her luggage back down and get the right keys. Not only was an inconvinence but very unsafe knowing she was let in to a allready ocupied room. The pool area is usually very nice but for some reason it was very dirty there was cups and trash floating everywhere. The lazy river was so packed with drunk people and trash my child couldnt even have a good time. We payed a extra resort fee ti use this pool, but when entering they were not even checking if you were a guest at the hotel, hence this is probally why there were so many people in the pool. Needless to say we checked out early and did not even use the pool the second day do to these reasons. For a great resort i am very disapointed that they have let this pool area open to just any rift raft that wants to come and drink and destroy what was once a nice place to stay.

I've helped organized several statewide conferences at the JW. They have numerous large conference halls that can comfortably hold two hundred or more attendees. The wifi signal are strong and JW was able to arrange for electrical outlets for each tabel. The catering staff has always been phenomenal. The food and set up during the conference has been timely and seemless.

dirty towels left in closet, dirty dishes in hallway front desk employees were rude at check in. we had 3 rooms and dirty items were left behind from other guests in 2 of them. front desk was not helpful and very rude. the water park was ni e but again trash was left all over the side and the lazy river did not seem skimmed. Also requested one of our rooms to be feather free and it was not which caused an allergic reaction.
