First time staying here it was very nice the staff was very nice and proficient -- rooms clean. Beds are very hard --pillows are too soft and my friend (s) and I argued over the air conditioning room temp. All night hahah!! We had fun and will stay again....
--_- Bad pionts are: the floor was wet on side of the bed by the wall we couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
No free breakfast. Neighbor in next door complain because we were talking too loud. Huh? REALLY!!!.

Was over booked ... Put four of us in a queen room after reserving a two and yes pre-paid.. Ordered room service paid cash but evidently the server kept it because I was still charged.. Never made the bed or changed out towels

Very disappointing compared to mother JW hotels I have stayed at. I'm a Marriott gold member and can say this was a worse experience than an old Fairfield. Rooms are dated and the towels are thin. Concierge lounge charges for alcohol where other Renaissance and JW hotels around the world are always complimentary. There was a shard of glass on the floor in my room that my wife cut her foot on and the only response from the hotel was a few extra points on my account and a meager apology. The Renaissance a few blocks away is far superior to this hotel.

Supposed to be a luxury hotel and it's not. We booked online and when we got there they had the reservations messed up. We asked for 3 double bed rooms and we got 3 King sized rooms instead. After fighting with them about it we got one double room and two King rooms with roll away beds. Plus the rooms were all on different floors.

We had an AMAZING time. We had a corner room on the 28th floor which offered a great view of the city. It was nice and clean. We did have to ask to turn the heat on as when we arrived as it was a chilly and our room was pumping out a/c, but it was fixed quickly, so no issue. When deciding what to do, the concieges Andrew and Isabella were awesome with suggestions, giving us tips on places to see and hear live music. Deb and her manager Willy at the bar were really nice friendly and recognized us when we came back the next time. We had drinks and once had pretzel bites so I can't vouch for menu but bites were tasty and drinks were good and just as ordered. I apologize that I don't remember the names of the men and women working the front desk but there were all very friendly and ready to help whenever needed. My only complaint is that the heated pool was not working. We had booked because a heated outdoor rooftop pool sounded amazing but heater had apparently been broken for about 2 months due to unseasonally cold winter and snow. it was only 50 degrees out the day we arrived so the water was chilly. By the time we left, it had been 70 for a few days, so it had warmed up the water a little but it was still too chilly for me to take a dip. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to visiting New Orleans again, hopefully soon.

Right next to the French Quarter so very easy to walk to all the fun spots. The view from the 29th floor was amazing and so was the chocolate cake (room service)! No free WiFi is always a bummer.

While attending a conference at another hotel across the street on Canal, the J.W. Marriott proved to be more updated than it's cousin across the street. My room was on the 20th floor and the view on NOLA was stellar! My room was clean upon arrival and room service was impeccable every day. My only concern was that the carpet appeared to need more vacuuming. In addition to the facilities, the staff were so very helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I felt relaxed and rested each day. The bed was very comfortable! I highly recommend this hotel.

Staff took great care of my friends so far while they are in NOLA! They unfortunately fell victim to a travel agency scam that took their money and left them without a place to stay for the week! The ladies were basically stranded in NOLA with no clue on how to salvage the rest of the trip. All of us back home were so worried but the staff at the JW made sure our friends were well taken care of! I can't wait to come down and stay there. Thanks Danielle Matthews and JW Marriott!!

Two night stay over Mardi Gras Holidays was very enjoyable. Location was great once arrived but a little hard to get to while parades/events going on. But overall they accommodated us at their very best. Will definitely choose them again even next year for Mardi Gras....but definitely will come super early on Lundi! I'm a Louisianian. Please visit Louisiana!

Absolutely fantastic stay for my family and I! Talk about incredible customer service, they have it down to a science. I didn't like paying 42 bucks a night for parking, but given the location it was well worth it. Excellent walking distance to lots of places, and great clean rooms. Again.....their customer service was firing on all cylinders. They were great to my wife and two toddlers (high energy toddlers) and they went above and beyond to make sure that our stay for flawless. Well done folks!

To start; When you travel often and stay in hotels...

To start; When you travel often and stay in hotels over 100 nights per year; you tend to know what good - great & bad look like related to service levels.

Here you go!

Stayed at the JW Marriott; I booked an upgraded room as I wanted the trip to be more enjoyable, comfortable etc. Additionally I was traveling with friends so having a larger suite was just easier.

So let's get into the good. Suite was wonderful once we finally got into it. The bell staff, specifically Tim was very attentive + friendly, getting the car in/out of the valet was easy. Lobby bar is great.

On the flip side..... The other staff at this hotel may be the WORST I have experienced in 20+ years of heavy travel. Upon arrival, which was fairly early in the day - I received a rather unenthusiastic and annoyed welcome from Brennan. The room was not ready yet (which at 1030AM I expected), however when I inquired and made request to check in around 3 she was not helpful at all. At that point we moved on with our day.

After an enjoyable Saints win vs. the Bucs I returned to the hotel to attempt to check-in, shower and relax for a few after a day of travel & football. At that point I was dealing with Ashlee, who was absolutely & unequivocally the rudest individual I have ever made an attempt to work with at a hotel property. She could not answer simple questions, rolled her eyes at me on more than one occasion and could not even carry a conversation allowing me to explore alternatives to my potential stay. At that point I asked to speak to the manager, Ashlee walked away w/o saying anything to me & returned approx. 7 minutes later with the same answer; your room isn't ready.

As a mid-higher level ranking status w/Marriott (50+ nights so far in 19') I inquired if I had any benefits to my status. At that point I was asked to hold on while Ashlee disappeared to the back again for approx. 5 minutes. Once again returning with little to no satisfaction to my liking. She could not even get close to answering when the room would be ready. Mind you I prepaid a large sum the day of booking, had asked Brennan to check in around 3 & Ashlee failed to provide any details; nor did the manager "Mike" ever make an appearance or try to help.

The room was finally ready about 615PM that evening. I received no call, visit from the manager or a simple "We are sorry for any inconvenience" or an acknowledgement as to the fact they were extremely late getting our room cleaned and ready. No one was friendly to me upon our return for check-in.

Room Service: Ordered simple beverages, took nearly and hour to arrive. Hit with 22% service charge to bring beverages to the room.

Check-out: Had the pleasure of the infamous Brennan at checkout the next day. Once again, very rude greeting - no eye contact, could not answer virtually any questions I asked. And no offer to discount or acknowledge the previous days events as being an oversight on their part.

Based on this experience alone, I will not stay at this property upon any trip to NO again. They are completely incapable of assistance, they are in no hurry to do anything for a paying customer & they certainly have the worst attitude I have ever experienced.

I don't understand how the reviews on this place is so high. The best part of the stay was the location, the convenience of room service from the in home restaurant, and the breathtaking view. The view is the reason I gave 2 stars instead of one. Now for the complaints. Firstly, way overpriced. Secondly the rooms were very plain. Not visually beautiful like I'm used to. There were dead cockroaches in the elevators, and mouse droppings in the bathroom. It was a disappointment to my roommates being that there was no complimentary WiFi in the guest rooms, also there were no microwaves. How can you call this luxury? Never again!

This is by far the best Marriott I have ever stayed at. The rooms was nice and clean upon check-in. The bathroom was amazing, not the standard hotel bathroom. The room service was delicious. I recommend the Classic Beef Burger. Staff was always kind and curtious. Would definitely stay here again if I'm every in New Orleans again.
