This was my fourth stay at the JW Marriott, and as usual, it was wonderful. There were plenty of activities to do and the staff were kind and hospitable. The rooms can be a long walk, but none are far out of reach. I'm looking forward to next year's vacation again!

Erm. This place was pretty godawful boring. Unless you are a golfer, or tennis player. Food was bland af. Rooms, the same. If you are 35 & under, I'd recommend somewhere else. OTOH, if you are a 35+ golfer/tennis player, this will probably be right up your alley!

Great place to get away from the hectic pace. A place to consider for your next conference/convention. You're made to feel a part of JW Marriott family. An oasis in the desert! - K. Humphrey

My family and I went for fourth of July weekend at it was pretty busy as expected. Activities and amenities are great. Service amd food was great. The guests that the resort attracts though, not exactly humble. I'd say the worst part of the experience was simply arrogant and snobby guests ruining the experience. Also, it looks like it'd be so much more fun for anyone 21+ (I'm only 19 :( )

Help! I'm trapped in an outdated and circuitous compound!

The staff did their best, but even managers seem befuddled by cardinal directions ("Can you just tell me which way the sun sets?!" ...Ooof.)
This was probably an amazing hotel complex in 1996. Twenty years on, I feel claustrophobic even amidst the amazing views.

The experience was great until we encountered some long term residents German cockroaches. When I asked the front desk about the infestation she simply dismissed my question like it doesn't matter

TLDR: don't waste your money here, go to the Westin EVERY TIME.

My friends and I went to the JW in Palm Springs for the first weekend of Coachella.... boy was this a GRAVE mistake. If I could rate this hotel negative stars, I would. We paid $5k for a 2 bedroom suite for the weekend (Thurs through Sunday). I emailed the hotel 3 times asking for early check in and a cot for our friend. I never received a response back. I had friends flying in from Dubai, New Jersey and the Bay Area.... like they need early check in to rest up and curb the jet lag.

Needless to say, our early check-in request turned into one of the rooms being ready at 4pm and the other half of the suite ready at 5:30pm. We had 5:30pm reservations at a Michelin rated restaurant and when I mentioned this to the front desk lady at 3pm (normal check-in time), she suggested we wait a little longer. By 4pm, I asked for updates again as now we are going to struggle to make dinner reservations. The front desk lady tried to convince us to shower WITH THE MAID CLEANING in the room still.... like all 4 of us were supposed to shower with the maids watching us. Thanks for the great customer service and let me remind you that you have a spa on-site and to suggest that next time (great training). We finally got a text at 5:30 that our suite was ready .... so we missed dinner and had to pay $500 reservation fee for a no show.

It just gets better.... I spoke with the manager who offered to compensate us for the resort fee ($30 / night) and pay for our $500 reservation fee. Like no offer for a free night or anything. THEN I found out our $5k 2 bedroom suite didn't include breakfast!?!?!?!? Is this even an option?? I'm dumbfounded at how this even happened. So given our horrible experience, I asked for breakfast to be included.... there was no immediate yes to my request and a simple, "well the restaurant is a different company than our hotel, I'll have to check."

So we begrudgingly went to our room, expecting this to be spotless given the 2.5 hour delay for cleaning. It took us 3 tries to open the doors to the suite because the keys they gave us didn't work. THEN when we did get in, we found TOE NAIL CLIPPINGS in the corner by the balcony door. WOW! Glad they cleaned!! I'm not talking one or 2, I'm talking full feet nail clippings (see picture). The following day, I asked the maid to clean the room, she said "We don't clean these rooms." Well that explains the toe nail clippings (see attached picture). The experience just kept going... after getting rejected for maid services, we had to wait 45 minutes for our breakfast in the restaurant.... as if they were waiting for the chicken to hatch the eggs or something. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL EVER.

The following weekend #2 of Coachella, the Westin had our suite available at 10am for early check-in, we got $400 hotel credit for no reason and keys were waiting for us on walking in. Moral of the story - GO TO THE WESTIN. We still haven't gotten an offer for any further compensation outside of reimbursement for money we were out, 1 morning of breakfast where we waited 45 mins for food and $30/night resort fee credit. HORRIBLE customer service - they all need re-training.

We entered the room to a cacophony of hammers, followed be drilling sounds!!!
When we called the front desk to see if we can move to a normal, quiet room, we got" we are under construction at the whole resort on the 7th floor" and "this information is on our website"!!!
Just read all the fancy language on their website and nowhere does it mention that your pleasant stay will be disrupted by a hammering and drilling symphony.

Spa was wonderful. Rooms were comfortable and as expected. Only complaint is that self parking was full and several non-electric vehicles were occupying the charging spots so I was unable to charge my car.

Exterior very nice, interior in the lobby and meeting rooms clean and inviting, the room we stayed in was very dated and the beds were extremely hard. We planned on staying 3 nights but checked out after 1 due to a miserable night on the mattress. However, the location is very beautiful and scenic. Great sunsets!

I attended the 3D Basecamp conference presented by SketchUp. The food was outstanding, the meeting spaces are vast and comfortable, the outdoor spaces are beautiful, and the staff is almost annoyingly nice and helpful.

Nikki at check-in exceeded my expectations. Very professional, relaxed, and fun.

Relaxing by the pool, met Dru poolside VIP server, her vision across entire pool is excellent. I look up for something and she already made eye contact and is there.

Fantastic weekend conference, beautiful setting, and top notch customer service. This was our second time here and I was impressed at how much it had changed in two years. They had renovated the room, added a few amenities, and improved the level of staff interaction. The conference center was bright, there was a wonderful variety of food and snacks, my kids enjoyed the putting green, multiple pools, boat ride, and aviary. We re excited to come in another year or two to see the new entertainment zone and lazy river!

Very nice experience so far, room is nice, lobby is beautiful, view is spectacular. We are here for a conference, and it works great as an event center. There is a Ralph's within walking distance too, to pick up the things you don't want to pay hotel prices for.

We stayed in a room overlooking the Mini Putt area. Spacious room, strong shower, comfortable furniture. The pool was never overly crowded. Food found all over the hotel is great quality, and for thise on a budget... Dominoes delivers regularly to this hotel! Free self parking, resort fee is worth it to take advantage of all the amenities. 2 night stay was enough to experience the entire hotel, and then some!

This is a great resort in Desert Springs. The boats are nice as are the putting greens. Lobby bar is a fun place centrally located. I don t really golf but if I did I think this would be a great place to spend some time! Overall this is a top notch property in the area.

Nice resort that is beginning to show age/wear/tear. Place was very busy when I stayed, Stagecoach. But the staff seemed to do a decent job of getting people checked in and moving to where ever they wanted to go.
Pool area was a zoo. But all fun, people were well behaved. Staff was quick to respond to any behavior that looked like it could get stupid (1 guy started to dry hump an inflatable whale in the pool and about 4 staffers were there in < 5 secs telling him to knock it off). Pool service was very good, but very pricey. Rooms were comfortable and quiet, but again, some age/wear/tear were evident. Cleaning was not so great, my friend cut his foot on a small piece of glass embedded in the carpet; vacuuming would've probably picked this up. Ate at the Japanese Steakhouse, tasted good when we ate it, but a bad aftertaste (about an hour later) and lots of butter and salt is used in the food prep. Fisherman's Landing was good for lunch and their sushi was very good. Golfing at the resort is very good. The Palms course is the nicer of the two courses and maybe a bit more challenging. The Valley course was a lot more straight forward, but water hazards can cause some frustration. Practice facility is nice. Finally, the temps were in the low 90s, but the hotel always seemed to be uncomfortably cool with the A/C obviously cranked. All in all a nice time, might be nice to re-visit when the place isn't quite so busy.

The place is beautiful, However this is the perfect example of douchbaggery. If you are rich they will cater to all of your needs trampling over everyone else.
If you are a normal middle class family I would avoid them like the plague.
