A luxury hotel in a top location that leaves nothing to be desired. Here you can unwind and be pampered all around.
Location and surroundings
We were looking for peace and quiet and have therefore chosen the palm tree as a vacation spot. With the "regular" taxi (inexpensive) it is about 20 minutes to Dubai City. Anyone who wants to shop is wrong on the palm. There are some high-priced shops in the hotel. You can go for a walk on the well-developed promenade. It is around 35 minutes from the airport to the hotel.
The hotel played a role in the 4th part of "Mission Impossible" (Ghost Protocol).
room
We had booked a double club room through FTI. In the room we had two large, single beds (approx. 120 cm x 200 m) and an extra bed, as there were three of us. The mattresses were wonderful; not too soft and not too hard. There were two pillows (feathers). The room was huge with a couch and two armchairs, flat screen TV, minibar, safe, hair dryer, ironing board, iron, slippers, bathrobes, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, mouthwash, toothbrushes and toothpaste, razor, etc. The balcony was large with two chairs and a table. The bathroom was large with too large a bathtub (pool level). The shower and toilet were separated by a pane of glass. Room service came in the morning and evening. There were always enough free water bottles available. There was fresh fruit in the room every day. There was also a Nespresso machine for making coffee and tea. The air conditioning worked perfectly and was quiet.
service
The employees in the hotel, regardless of whether they were the housekeeper, waiter, concierge or beach staff, responded immediately to questions, problems, requests. Example: We arrived at the hotel at 3:00 a.m. and the television would not turn off (welcome picture). A call to the reception was enough and after less than 5 minutes an employee appeared and was able to help.
gastronomy
Breakfast was served in the Imperium restaurant. You could dine inside and outside. There was a huge buffet with a choice that was limitless. The restaurant is reminiscent of a hall in a castle. For dinner, the hotel also has six other restaurants that offer dishes from different countries. It is advisable to reserve the table in advance in some restaurants. If you book half board in the restaurants, not all meals are included in the price. But you can also enjoy a different themed buffet in the Imperium restaurant every evening, the selection is huge and delicious. Drinks have to be paid for; water is not free either.
Sports & entertainment
There is a spa area that we didn't use. The pool area is huge, very clean and the water is about 30 degrees. There are countless loungers with parasols around the pool and in the meadows. It looks similar on the beach. Here, too, there are loungers and parasols available. The service staff occupied the sun lounger with towels. There is enough water (also ice-cold if possible). Sunscreen is also available (SPF 30). Ice cream (with the meal), damp cloths and cucumber slices for the eyes are served free of charge. Even the service of cleaning sunglasses is offered. The beach is very clean, cleaned every day. The water was 32 degrees (in October). Sufficient water sports were available for a fee. There was a very nicely laid out pool and play area for children. There was no entertainment in the hotel (we were glad about it). Sufficient live guards are available by the pool and by the sea.
Price-performance ratio: very good
