I really love this spa but recently I have been very disappointed. The space in the locker room, transition room, and light therapy room is not big enough to accommodate the number of people that are there. It is disappointing to arrive early only to sit on a crowded, uncomfortable bench waiting for you appointment and to have to wait in lines for the bathrooms and showers. Time to expand or book less people at a time! Therapists have all been great and the manager and staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Very disappointed. Expected high-end service from the reviews. Paid $60 for a wash, dry and my ends trimmed. Angela was distant and didn't listen to my needs. Also kept stabbing my poor scalp with her fake nails. I honestly felt she would have rather been anywhere but cutting my hair. I never treat myself and I was really looking forward to this, I am really upset. Will never return. Def do not recommend.

Madi Is the best ! Wouldn t trust anyone else with my hair. She always takes her time, gives the best input on styles and products and everyone I ve sent to her LOVES her. Will never go elsewhere! Also the salon is always clean, and well organized and the shampoo girls are the sweetest!

Natalie fixed my ombre and worked so hard! She really does a great job. I was so upset when someone messed up my hair, it was so patchy and I didn't love it. Thankfully I was seen by Natalie when I went back to have it fixed. It was my second time at the salon and I was in for a re-color. I love my hair now, it looks natural and beautiful. She took her time and knew what she was doing. Someone give that girl a promotion! Also, Dawn did a great job. My hair gets really tangled and she was gentle and quick. The first time I was in, I didn't realize how rough the other girl was..I got home and the back of my neck was a little sore from the sink. Anyway..

amazing, as always!! I had Christine for a deep tissue massage and although it was a little uncomfortable (as proper deep tissues are) she walked me through my breathing and talked me through the discomfort when needed! The experience at Joseph Anthony s is like none other, from the moment you walk in til the moment you leave. I continue to come back time after time after time again, because the service you receive is by far the best i ve ever had. From the robes and flip flops, the lockers for your items, the transition room with complimentary drinks and foot bathes to your masseuse really focusing on your needs and the salt room after to sit and relax for as long as you want?! Ugh I feel like a queen when i come here! This place is by far my favorite! I don t think i will ever go anywhere else for any spa treatment!

The facility is aesthetically spectacular and the experience was sooo relaxing.

Natalie is THE BEST! It was great getting back to Joseph Anthony s. I felt very safe in terms of social distancing. Chairs in the hair wash area are all new and separated by plexiglass. All staff had masks. Natalie wore gloves. Stations were thoroughly cleaned before being seated. So good to have a nice dye & cut!!

Monica gave me the best massage I ever had. I will recommend her to everyone

Covid has certainly taken its toll on my hair status however Maria, as always , performed her wonders on my hair with a color and cut and all is right again in my world!

Micheal is by FAR the most skilled and professional hair stylist I have ever worked with (and I have had my hair colored on just about every continent in the world!). His attention to detail, combined with talent and education in regard to all-things- hair make him the BEST choice for anything from simple to complicated coloring jobs. Micheal is extremely professional. He is always nothing less than patient to hear and consult with me regarding color requests in addition to providing excellent suggestions as to how to accomplish the look I am going for. He achieves amazing results with my hair every time, and is VERY kind and gracious with me through-out the coloring process (I confess that I am one of those VERY picky and finicky clients ). I highly recommend Micheal to anyone looking for exquisite color services.

I had very high hopes for my first experience at Joseph Anthony's, especially since I was going to the flagship location at Glen Mills. My friends have continuously told me how great their experiences have been. However, mine was nothing special, and I would consider it sub-par to massages I have received at other establishments in the past. First, there were oil stains all over the sheet I was laying on. When I brought this to the attention of my masseuse, she ensured me that the oil stains were not unusual because they use oil during the massage. Since she was a second-tier masseus I thought she must know. I guess that's understandable, but I thought at a place like Joseph Anthony's the expectation was higher? I was considering asking to be moved to another bed but the masseuse acted like it was so normal and I didn't want to be an inconvenience, so I just let it go. Usually, when I have gone to "Hand and Stone" or a private masseuse, I have not noticed multiple oil stains. Maybe the room was dark already or maybe the stains were just not there. In addition to the oil stains, there was a hard white substance near the top of the sheet, similar to carpenters caulk. I decided to just scrape it off and try to enjoy the massage. Overall, I thought the massage itself was good. However, I requested the essential oils, but the oil I had smelled pretty bad, similar to olive oil. Maybe that's how the essential oils smell, but when I was checking out I realized that I was not charged for the essential oils, so now I just have a gift card worth $5, or the cost of essential oils. I also thought that the masseuse usually does the upper chest in a full-body, but I could be wrong or the time could have just run out. The warm towels in the massage were definitely a plus! I also enjoyed the amenity of given a robe and sandals and having the before and after room to sit in! There were a few amenities I wanted to use, but because of covid, I understood why they were not available. I have continued to tell my friends about my experience and they have ensured me that my experience is not normal and their experiences have been great. Based on the reviews on google, there are other clients that have loved their experience. I am just wondering why I didn't have the same experience? I don't plan on returning in the future, but I figured I would take the time to write the review in case it could benefit future clients.

My facial on 11/29/19 with Ashley was amazing!! Can t say enough good things about my experience with her. She was fantastic!!

However after my facial not so much. While sitting in my chair in the salt room, the chair moved out from under me as I turned to put my water down. As a result of the fall my neck flew back and I slammed my head into the chair, bent left elbow hit the floor along with my low back/hip (left side). Took about a week for the soreness of the head bump to subside along with the elbow. Still experiencing back/hip pain. Ashley advised the manager on duty which I confirmed with the check-out girl what had happened. To date (12/27) I have not heard from any managers at JA which is disappointing.

Sarah Jane is an amazing masseuse. I highly recommend her. Sam the spa Manager is the best!She works with my schedule monthly and always has a warm welcome.

Lauren is the absolute best!! She s a true color master and I trust her 100% with my hair! She s incredibly professional and knowledgeable and I always feel amazing when I leave the salon, thanks to Lauren.

Joseph Anthony's Salon is a class-act, from the building itself to the people within. Long story short, I was in trouble--my hair was a mess of knots that, frankly, was awing--a result from a stay in the hospital where my hair was severely neglected. What in the world could I do? I had spent tireless hours (with lots of pain, I might add) trying to get these two crazy "knots" out of my head. Honestly, they seemed more like hair stones, they were that compact and hard. I brought my concerns up to my friend, Alaina, who works at this wonderful salon, asking if she thought Joseph Anthony's could help me. She brought it up the very next day at work, and I was told Rachel, very sweet and very understanding, volunteered to help without another thought. So, off to Joseph Anthony's I went, my very first time. The place is absolutely gorgeous--modern, chic, and clean. The people who work there are friendly and willing to cater to your every need (like getting you a glass of water). So, what ended up happening was that my hair was too big of a beast. Rachel tried her very best, something that is much appreciated, until Joseph Anthony, himself, made his way over to check on me. He took a look and told us that if we kept trying to work the knots out it could result in two things, 1) inevitably, a ton more pain and 2) maybe even bald spots. Yikes! Then, to my surprise, Mr. Joseph Anthony decided to take me under his wing. He gave me the once over, decided I could pull of a short haircut, and offered to do it for me then and there--despite being retired from the actual cutting business. He ended up saving what I had left of my hair, giving me an adorable hairstyle that I get complimented on ALL OF THE TIME. To Alaina, Rachel, and Joseph Anthony--Thank you!!!!! You helped me feel pretty and confident again after what I had gone through. Joseph Anthony's Retreat, Spa, and Salon is five stars, 10/10 everywhere from atmosphere to talent to the kindness of the people working there.

Shannon Is an exceptional colorist and stylist and always makes me feel comfortable and walk out with the best head of hair I ve ever had!

Only the hair washing part, although Katie or the older ladie made my hair uneven, extreamly short (I asked for it to be long) destroyed my scalp with her nails, yanked at my head everytime he went for a cut of something else, and rushed the whole thing.

Elizabeth is the best.....my skin always looks and feels amazing after a treatment with her!!!

I really wanted to fall in love with this salon so that I could tell the friend who bought me a gift certificate to visit that it was fab. Sadly, not the experience. It started with my appointment being cancelled via a voice mail i never received. Having driven 40 minutes to the appointment, i was not thrilled. To their credit, they were able to come up with another stylist who could do one of the two services I had scheduled - highlights. What i really needed was a cut, but that was nit to be.

The Stylist (whose name can remain private) did a fine job with the color. It's actually quite lovely. Not $145 worth of lovely, but again, I was there on a gift card. The same cannot be said of her blowout skills. She burned me twice and left my bangs in such a mess that I actually had to pull over on my drive home to dig a barrette out of the glovebox because I couldn't see! Important to note that there was no cut or trim involved and they suggested I go home "wet."

The girl who did my shampoo... she needs to find a new occupation. She tugged and pulled my hair so hard I wasn't sure I'd have anything left to blowout. Additionally, she sprayed and soaped nearly my entire face! Even my eyeliner and mascara ran!

All in all, I'm glad the mystery of Joseph Anthony is over, and I look forward to returning to Currie for my services.

Great!! I sent my mother there for her birthday, she loved it and cried!! I went back with my father and loved it too. The staff is VERY PLEASANT, something hard to find now days. They are both professional and helpful, if you don't know what you want tell them and they'll steer you in the right direction. The whole place is BEAUTIFUL and relaxing, A TRUE SPA. I am happy to say I just booked my parent s 2nd visit as a xmas gift. They are doing a great job keep it up! :)

I ve gotten tons of massages in my life, but today s massage topped them all! Sarah Jane was amazing, very knowledgeable and truly cared about relieving my lower back pain. I will definitely be back to see her again! My only tip- 60 mins is not enough, definitely go for the 85 minute!

Was the first customer in Glen Mills this morning at 8AM. Joe stopped and talked to me in the parking lot before I even got to the door. What great customer service!. The staff were very efficient following the state rules. There were also very friendly as usual. And of course Hillary was awesome! I enjoyed my visit today. Would differently recommend that everyone go there. Been there for years and will keep going back!

First time experience today and it was amazing! I only had one service of a hot stone massage but Kelly was awesome! It s very hard for me to relax and I was so so relaxed. When I arrived for my appointment, I was a bit frazzled to learn my appointment actually was in the spa. I hurried to put on a robe and get into the transition room to enjoy it for as long at the schedule would allow. Meg was so kind and patient - she gave me some time to sit and enjoy the transition room even though I ran late due to the confusion with the appointment. She made my experience today a great one!

My daughter loved her time with Madison at Joseph Anthony. Madison treated her so kindly, and also like a grown up. She gave her a beautiful haircut, took time to apply product and blow dry and even gave her a pretty braid. Madison is my daughter s new favorite hair stylist and she even recommended her to her sister so they will both be back!
