Food over cooked service was ok and the family that arrived after us recieved their food first. Kind of dissapointed. Bathrooms were dirty and out if toliet paper and resturant was not even busy. I normally love Johnny Carinos this was my first and last time at this location.

I think I just don't have the taste buds for this place. Nothing horrible occurred as the service was excellent! The food was fresh and hot but a bit on the bland side. FYI had the shrimp and lobster pasta (decent) and the jalapeno tilapia(not so much).. Sit at the bar!!! Happy hour specials (not really a large selection) apply if you're at the bar and I must admit they have GREAT drinks (STRONG and to the point). Definitely get what you pay for so that's a plus. 3 stars because of friendly staff and drink specials)
For starters, the bad attention of our waiter, I'm not sure but I think his name is Isidro, lousy attitude, it took forever to bring us the drinks, not to mention the food, waiting so long for a super bad meal and very face it is not worth what you pay. At the time of paying, the waiter charged us with extra things, he did not respect the specials that we asked for, I do not know why he did not give us a convincing explanation of what he charged extra, the manager had to come to speak with us and only he solved the problem, in short, very bad experience, zero recommended !!

We really enjoy eating at Johnny Carino's. Had not been in awhile since I've been doing Keto. However, my pregnant wife wanted Carino's tonight so of course we went! For my Keto Compadres out there, they will sub the pasta with sauteed spinach on any dish making almost everything Keto friendly!!! Always love seeing Tara there and always try to get her section, however we have always received excellent service. Salads are very fresh. Love the mushroom appetizer. Enroll in the Pasta Points program and get free items on most visits. Sit in the bar for all day happy hour appetizer and drink deals.

We used to love this place but don't think we'll be returning back again. We called in a to go order and they told us it would be ready in 30 minutes from we ordered. We arrived and parked at the to go parking and no one came out to check on us until 30 minutes of waiting. A female waitstaff came out to ask for our name and then proceeded to tell us that they were placing our order in and sorry for the inconvenience but we would have to wait because they had a person quit and our to go orders were not place into the system. They would get it our as soon as possible. So waited because it was already too late to leave anywhere else. 30 minutes of waiting, we went in to check on our order and talked to a guy who asked for our names and then said, I'm sorry we don't have any order in our system for you. Really!!! so your employee comes out to ask for our name and tell us our order is being worked on only to find out it wasn't. He then proceeds to tell us that if we want to wait (again) he can expedite the order and have it ready in about 10 minutes. Well 30 minutes later we finally get our food. The quality was not great as you would expect for something that was rushed. Needless to say, over 2 hours of our time was wasted waiting for okay food. I reached out to the contact us page online but never got a call back or email from them. Poor service and customer care.

happen to stopped in for my Birthday this pass week and Mark the bartender was very ' out going and offer me a glass of red wine to go along with my complimentary chocolate cake. All said in done I give him five stars !
The food is awesome, especially spicy shrimp and chicken. We celebrated 90th birthday of my mother in law and Reda was very friendly and appreciative. Going back again!!!

Nice Italian place. Had been here twice in this visit to Austin. The lunch menu is really good and economic. And is a lot of food. I tried the Minestrone soup... Twice. The Baked Stuffed mushrooms are amazing!

It seemed slow but the bar was hoppin so we sat at the bar top. Our bartender Tara (maybe a mgr from her shirt) was super friendly, outgoing and easy on the eyes. Great atmosphere and pizza to match. Well be back!

Too busy. We showed up at 6pm and were seated immediately. 30 minutes after ordering, our waitress brought us a complimentary ceasar salad to apologize for the wait. But it was drowned in so much dressing that it was inedible. 15 minutes after that we just walked out and went to McDonalds next door.
Also, I'm not a big guy, and I ordered a jumbo margarita on an empty stomach, and I didn't get even the slightest bit tipsy. Pretty sure they sold me a virgin slushie for full price.
Johnny Carino's is our favorite Italian spot!! We go several times a month.
The waitress was amazing and attentive. The bread is really good.
As for the rest of the food, it's very bland....not what I would consider $20 per plate good.
Carinos has a great happy hour menu all day long in the bar. We love the Italian Nacho's and pizzas and their wedge salad is excellent.
We had our graduation party at this location. Service was great. Food was hot and awesome! We had several entries and it accommodated all the guests. If you need a private party with good customer service then consider this place! Job well done!

Latoya served me a custom Margarita on the rocks which wasn't on the menu while i was waiting for a table and happened to be our server in the bar area as well. Food was amazing as always and service was on point even though it was swamped. Thanks to the staff and the cooks for keeping me coming back for more good times. My waiter and waitress was very pleasant and helpful. The host just left me standing in the front so I walked myself to the bar and sat there. The food was mediocre. Don't know where were the other 10 layers of a 16 layered lasagna because I counted 6 layers or did I read the menu wrong!
Maybe next time I'll try the margarita.
My coworker and I have been going here every Tuesday for BOGO Pasta (2 for the price of 1) for the past several months. What a great lunch deal! We love our waitress Jessie. Ask for her and you're sure to have a good time. She's awesome and efficient. The BOGO list has a good variety of pasta dishes and includes their bread and a soup/salad. I usually get their Italian Chili soup. It's very delicious. Beware the bread can be addicting!
Was disappointed only because the wait on food was so long.. calamari was oily and not crunchy and chicken Alfredo was not tasteful

I am a repeat Carino's client from multiple locations in multiple states and I have always enjoyed going there. But this time the service was extraordinary. Try the Italian nachos, and the Jalapeno Tilapia was as good as ever. Please ask for Martin as your server. Will return soon!

I haven't been here in a while. It's not what I remembered. The food was okay, their service was decent, and there weren't hardly any people in there.
Went right after work. Absolutely no wait. Ordered pasta my way. Angel hair noodles with marinara meat sauce and fried calamary for an appetizer. It was served with a side salad and roll. Food was wonderful! Hardly anyone there at this time - 5:00 pm. Was very quiet. So can't figure out why service was so unbelievably slow!! Had to flag server down to get my check while he was waiting on other people. Didn't come by to see if I needed anything but once during whole meal. Had to ask for spoon for pasta. Never could get him back for extra napkins. Need more and better wait staff.
My waiter was very slow and forgetful. I got there before the people at table by me and they had there bread drinks and salads before I even got a drink. The same waiter. We would ask for something and it would take 5 to 10 minutes before we got it. Then the food order was Bowtie festival.
It had all kinds of pasta and the alfredo sauce was broken burned and red. Way to many bacon bits.

Had good food from here in the past but was disappointed in recent order, paid over $20 for like 4 raviolis with very minimal chunks of lobster. Tasted fine, but I was jipped.
Without a doubt the best place to have a great meal.My family and I visited my brother in Austin Texas about a year ago and he took us to Carino's in the Parmer area for dinner and it was just an amazing experience!!!!.
From the time we arrived, the hostess was very polite and serviceable, the server was totally professional, the food was exquisite,right temperature on everything, the managers always making sure that we were having everything that we needed and that everything was good ,so I highly recomend this place and hopefully we can comeback soon.
Horrible customer service - mediocre food. After 30 minutes, asked waiter to check on salads. Delivered about 10 minutes later. Asked to talk to manager after noticing table next to us (who had arrived 15 minutes later than us) got their entrees. Manager said food takes 14 minutes to prepare and ticket had only been in for 15 minutes. Basically, server did not turn in the ticket. After discussion, manager agreed to comp the wine and offered dessert. We declined dessert for wine and discount on bill. When bill arrived, the wine was taken off bill did not have discount applied. Manager said he could not do it. We said we would not return - he did not seem concerned. If the server would have apologized or at least admitted his error, it would have meant a lot but he did nothing.
The spicy chicken sauce was bland milk. I would not call it a sauce, does not coat the back of a spoon. The oil for the bred was pepper and some unknown oil. You live in Austin go some where good. 1/2 price does not justify ruining food like this, worthless.

If you are in a hurry don't come here!!!! Took the kitchen 45 minutes to fix our pasta. There were 2 tables in the restaurant. The server kept forgetting what we needed. When we finally got our food it was just okay at best. This will most likely be our last time here. The ONLY reason we gave them this last chance was we were given coupons from the manager the last time we were here and this also happened. If you are in the mood for Italian go to olive garden!

Tuesdays are the best time to go for lunch as it is buy one get one free, but because of this, it is always packed and the service reflects it, although I have always had very nice waitstaff. Great food!
