Simply put; good service, but the food is mediocre. My wife and I had lunch there today and neither of us were very impressed. We each got a lunch combo. We started with Caesar salads that were made with old bagged lettuce. The lettuce was tossed with dressing, croutons and Parmesan. The other ingredients were probably very good but the extremely non-fresh lettuce ruined it. We also got the stuffed mushroom appetizer which was decent. The pasta was okay as well, the ingredients were at least reasonably fresh but there nothing to get excited about. The server was very attentive so we gave him a nice 20% tip. After all, he didn't prepare the lackluster food but did an exceptional job. All together we spent forty dollars that was forty dollars poorly spent. Live and learn.

Ordered for delivery like we have in the past except this time there was a screw in the chicken parm! That was not the birthday dinner expected!
Called and talked to the manager and she said we had to handle through the delivery service. To me that s crazy because the delivery people did there job, it is the restaurant that put the screw in the food!
We got screwed!!!!

First time at Carrinos it was delightful, tasty and satisfying! The spinach with the Talapia and a hint of jalapeno was just right. My husband enjoyed the salmon. The service was very good. One last thing, the raspberry lemonade-soothes the worst thirst! I will return!!! AWESOME SERVICE!!!

Two times we have been here the service is terrible. It's very slow and not friendly. It takes forever for the food to come and no one refills drinks etc. Also they don't charge accurately.
But the food is good despite the wait.

Great food and fabulous service! In town for a soccer tournament and found Johnny Carino's on Google. Decided to try based on reviews. Couldn't be more pleased. Salads were fresh, and the bread fresh and warm. Entrees came out quickly and the food was delicious. Our server was friendly, attentive and made good recommendations. Definitely a winner!

This visit got off to a rocky start. Hostess greeted us, sat us down and chatted with us for a moment. 10 minutes later, she came back and asked if anyone had taken our drink order yet. I told her no, so she got our drinks for us. She went and talked to a fellow in front of the kitchen/server pick up station and pointed our direction, I assume he was maybe a manager? They both walk past our table without sho much as a glance our direction. Meanwhile, the server for the table behind my mom was standing there complaining profusely (and quite loudly) about someone having called in, it wasn't fair to him, there was only 3 servers present (I had not yet seen any other severs), he was going to call so-and-so to file a complaint, but he really feels like walking out, and he promises he did not forget their order, but there is only so much he can do, yadda yadda yadda... I felt like playing the world's tiniest violin for him! How unprofessional. But this made me pay attention to the situation. Manager guy came over & took our order. I saw another server buzzing about, taking care of business to the best of his ability with a smile on his face. Manage guy brings our salads and bread with olive oil at the same time. Noticed another server in the building. Meanwhile complaining server is talking to manager guy(?), and he's obviously still whining/ complaining. Manager guy brings our entrees. Finally, after another group of people had been waiting about 15 minutes or so, complaining server decides to take their order. I looked down at my plate to ensure my food was going into my mouth and when I looked up, complaining server had morphed into a good looking young man who had a smile on his face and was now taking the order for that large group. This young man, Reda, stopped by our table a few more times to ensure everything was ok. And let me tell you, his demeanor, and light-hearted spirit changed the atmosphere of the whole place! Before I left, I asked him his name and complimented him for his pleasant attitude. He truly changed the experience we had there! I failed to get the name of the complaining server, but if I decide to go back, I will be sure to ask for Reda!

Took over 15 minutes for a waiter to come and take our order and the place was not at even at 20% capacity about 5 tables if anything. My plate tasted like everything was reheated not freshly made. I experienced an upset stomach for a few hours after I ate there.

So I have tried this place twice now...thanks to my boyfriend... I had food poisoning when I had the shrimp scampi about 5 months ago but I let him talk me back into trying it again last night. I tried a blacked chicken sandwich with fries. Not only did I get sick but the boyfriend got sick as well this time. I only ate about 3 bites off the sandwich and he ate the rest of it less than a hour after we had been served. Beware of this place for even 2 Army Veterans can't stomach it. I have been served alot of food overseas and it didnt get me as sick as this place. Find another Italian restaurant or your stomach will regret it less than an hour after you eat here.

Not bad! The shrimp scampi was admittedly a tad bit bland, but they were happy to split a dinner portion for myself and my partner, and bring out red pepper flakes when we asked. I'm impressed by the service, for sure!

My husband and I went for dinner and we both loved their bread with oil & garlic. Even though the host (I can't recall his name) had that "I hate my job" attitude, our server, Lindsay, was very attentive and courteous. Their wine selection is not extensive but it's pretty good. The food is great but a bit overpriced if you don't take advantage of their specials.

I have no idea why we end up here. I officially made it a rule that we cannot go back here ever. It always smells like wet dog, not the smell I want to accompany me, while I enjoy my lunch. The service is so so, the restaurant is run down, and the seats have no cushion left.

The parking lot is always dead so you can always find parking, but that should be a sign that you are going to embark on a terrible journey.

The food is always terrible, always consistently awful. It's bland and has no seasoning or taste. The bread is cold, the price you pay is not cheap, plus tip. The service is always so so, never super awful, but never good enough to return to eat terrible food just because. Just save yourself the agony and don't bother coming here. It's terrible

Marc Lara went above and beyond anything I have yet to see from a server let alone a manager. We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:40 with a party of seven. We were told that it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait before we would be seated due to the amount of people that had arrived before us; we agreed to wait. After waiting for 20 minutes we still had not been seated at which time Marc approached our party and explained that it would be another 5 minutes and he would have our table ready; he also explained that he would do whatever it took to keep our business and accommodate us in anyway possible as we were a little on the fence about continuing to wait. With Marc's staff tending to other customers Marc took it upon himself to serve our table. He did crack a joke and state it had been a while but he wasn't afraid to get back in the field or afraid of hard work. During his time with us Marc NEVER fell short one inch. As we checked out I asked Marc if they honoured a military discount at which he stated that they did. Marc also stated that he was proud to work for a company that honoured active duty military/veterans and their families! Words can't express the appreciation for his service to my party and I. We are really beyond words! Johnny Carino's really needs to look hard at Marc's talents as he is a true gem to the company. Thank you Marc Lara and Johnny Carino's for an amazing evening!

So was visiting the Austin area and decided to get a meal to go from this establishment. I walked into the ToGo door. A waiter came and took my order and I asked him if I needed to go to my car or stay inside and wait. He said it didn't matter. So, I came inside and walked over to a booth near the bar and sat down. The place was relatively empty. There was a party in the group area. I began to watch sports on the TVs when I was approached by a lady telling me that I needed to move from the booth. There were 3 booths in this section. One was occupied and 2 were empty. I sat at one of the empty ones, leaving another one vacant. I said I'm just waiting for a ToGo order. Then another lady came over saying I had to sit at the bar. There were no signs stating this; so, I asked why. She said the booths are for patrons. I thought I was a patron. Ha! I told her I am not going to be there long. And there were tables in the bar area as well. I moved over to the bar since they seemed to really stress that these booths needed to be available. As a visitor to this city and establishment, I didn't appreciate the necessity of keeping this area patron free. The entire restaurant was relatively empty. I've given them 2 stars for the food. The bowtie festival is an excellent dish and my waiter prepped it all well for me to take back to my hotel. I enjoyed my meal. Treat people well when they arrive and allow them to sit where they want. Maybe it will help your restaurant stay full of patrons during dinner and happy hour. I can see now why they stay away. Customer is always right!!!

Our server Hamilton was so sweet and awesome. The Italian queso was pretty good stuff. Hubby got the lasagna which he said was "ok". I got the cheese ravioli with green chili & jalapeno alfredo sauce. Took two bites of it and couldn't eat anymore. It tasted and smelled like paste. I'm grateful the took it off my bill. Sooo....dont know if we will go back..time will tell.

This place is usually great, but tonight was not the night. My fave bartender was working, Tara, and her service was great. But come on JC get this girl some help! She is slammed in the bar with people, plus making drinks, and answering the non-stop ringing phone. The cook blew it on my Steak special. Asked for medium, got well done. Tara got me another one asap to go. That one was also cooked through. Hint to cook, when the steak is less 1/8" thick, it is like 10 secs on each side and done. Felt bad for my girl Tara. I took care of her on tip.
