We didn't stay at the resort but rather ate lunch at the restaurant. The view and the service were top notch. The food was good as well.

Beautiful view from the room and feels so good to sleep with the sounds of wave.

The view is like.. the only this place has going for it. Food wasn t great, service was meh, the rooms were outdated and dusty.. Our first room opened up with an ocean view but also the pool and the entirety of guests right in front who could also see right into our room.. Our second room already had people in it.. which was awkward. Our third room s view was amazing. But again, it was dusty, there was no AC, mediocre service.. You can only watch local TV unless you want to pay $20 for a movie.. We ended up checking out a day early because we were so underwhelmed. Bummer!

We try to stay here for weekend getaways. The views from every room are unbeatable. There is a great pool and the ocean is only steps away. The staff are friendly and helpful. What more could you want.

Well managed and a unique experience. The "flying" area is much smaller than the Surf and Sand Resort. But everything went well and the grandkids loved it.

I went to Splashes with my girlfriends for a bachelorette party brunch. We had a great time and loved every minute. This restaurant is at a hotel that overlooks Laguna Beach and the view is amazing. The service was great and prices were very reasonable for how great the restaurant was. We all really enjoyed our food and drinks. If I ever make it back that direction, it's definitely a stop on my list!

The fried octopus appetizer was good but it should've been served in smaller bite sizes. Service was very good, the best thing about lunch was the veggie plate, mmm mmm good

We love it here at the Surf and Sand Resort. Love to go to sleep listening to the waves crashing on the beach. The staff is always very kind and helpful. You won't be disappointed.

Great service and experience!

Valet was very responsive. Customer service was very friendly and assisted with everything we needed. Our room was on the first floor and the view and breeze was amazing. The only problem we had was with our key cards not working, but they fixed the problem quickly and made it easy for us.

will never go back. place was nothing like they advertised. pool is too small. property is terribly outdated. rooms have no a/c (seriously!!). no service elevator so staff is everywhere. property is claustrophobic. they even have a bar in the parking area next to valet which is very strange. and for the price we could have stayed at several other 5 start resorts nearby. we left half way through our scheduled stay. even the kids were excited to leave.

I came to the this hotel for a honeymoon. Friendly service, nice view of the sea if the cozy room is great.

Ours was a beautiful room overlooking the pool and bar area. Very spacious and the hotel itself has a mix of beach style and luxury. Valet park its worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous beautiful views and food was amazing

The view is spectacular. The Food is good but the service has become a bit mediocre. I use to go with my grandson all the time but they doubled the price of his meal, I requested extra honey with my cheese platter and the waiter informed me there would be an extra charge, typically it is a spoonful of honey, I wanted two, it's not the money just the service. Also the waiters are not as courteous as they used to be. I used to love going to this place, now I go occasionally just to enjoy the view. If I want good service I will go to the Montage a couple miles down the road.

The Surf and Sand is an amazing place to hold your weddings or special events! The staff is amazing, the food is awesome and the location on the beach is priceless. We highly recommend having your wedding or special events at the surf and sand.

Stopped by for the day and was surprised to see that no one was taking social distance seriously. The pool was packed with people. I saw no social distancing with chairs, no protocol to follow, and no one wearing masks.Very unprofessional of the owner and manager to have to dismiss public health and safety not only to the guests, but the STAFF! I talked to a few staff members and they felt uncomfortable about their position to serve people because there was no safety protocol. This is NOT OKAY and the Surf and Sand do not care about their employees or guests! I will NOT be surprised if there are numerous cases of Covid-19 at this resort!

Incredible ocean views and at first glance the room is beautiful, but after trying to fill the tub we noticed some mold in the spigot and around the drain. We notified the staff since this is unacceptable for a room that costs hundreds a night, and we were compensated with two drink coupons for the beach bar. Not exactly what we expected, but the ability to open the doors at night and listen to the ocean right outside was enough to make us tolerate the other unsatisfactory element.

Beautiful property in a beautiful city. This is the good life. The staff is attentative and the sunsets are amazing. Highly recommend this propertty for events or overnight guests.

Save your money. It was beautiful to be on the water but the service was poor. We reserved 2 penthouses for the weekend; easily a 8k expense. My mother was celebrating her 68th with some family and friends. They were held at check in for an hour because of my moms card Issue (even though haft the stay was already paid for on my card which was still on file). When i arrived that night i went downstairs to add another card just in case and the front desk told me everything was fine and no cards needed to be added. My mother also called the next morning and gave a new card just in case. When my mom left for lunch the next day she was locked out of her room. We called the front desk and a rep said that she had only paid for one night so they unkeyed the rooms. No accommodation, no real assistance, no extraordinary service, no empathy. I ve stayed all over the world in luxury resorts, hotels, and rooms. It is uncommon to charge any card the full balance on the first night of a guests stay as the card is usually ran at the end of the stay to account for any additional expenses to the room. You can also use a different payment method at the end of your stay. It is also standard across the board that the hotel is to cater to all guest, but especially those staying in your top rooms (aka, spending extraordinary amounts of money). Please save your money on a resort that understands how to treat their guest. My mother told me and the front desk that they ruined her birthday experience on the water. This was very upsetting!

Beautiful location and amazing views of the ocean from your Room the sound of the waves lulled me to sleep

One year ago today I was standing on one of the beautiful balconies of the Surf and Sand Resort gazing out at the amazing view when I turned around to my boyfriend down on one knee asking me to be his wife. 7 year prior, him and I were standing in that exact same spot on our very first date. Between the beautiful view, the sentimental location, and becoming a fiancee, I can easily say it was the most amazing moment I have ever experienced.

What I didn't know until later was that the Surf and Sand Resort went above and beyond to help my now fiance plan that perfect moment. When he called the resort to explain what he wanted to do they were overjoyed and excited to help! They scheduled a time to meet with him so that he could find the same balcony that we were on 7 years ago (which is a tough task since there are multiple beautiful balconies!), they checked their schedule to make sure there were no other events going on the day my fiance wanted to propose, and they even allowed my family and my faince's family to hide in one of their suites during the proposal in order to take pictures of the event (complementary of the hotel!). Everything went perfectly as planned making that day feel like a fairytale!

I am forever thankful for the kindness and helpfulness the Surf and Sand Resort showed to me and my fiance on this very special day. It is for this reason that I highly recommend the Surf and Sand Resort for anyone that is looking for a BEAUTIFUL, romantic, relaxing place to go on vacation, stay a few nights, or even visit for for the day. Their friendly staff and incomparable accommodations will make any stay one you will remember forever.

We visited Laguna Beach for the first time for our Xmas holiday. We stayed at Surf And Sand resort and were simply impressed with everything from the facility to the excellent service. From check in, to the bell boys, valet, to the housekeeping staff, everyone was 10/10, very very friendly and eager to help. We had a room on the top floor and it was simply breathtaking. We could not imagine that our hotel was literally ON THE BEACH. Waking up and walking to our balcony, opening the door, it felt as if we are actually on a cruise ship, in the water. We miss going to sleep with the sound of crashing waves. On our final day as we were about to check out and walked to the balcony, we spotted a group of dolphins playing around. We will definitely be back and I have already recommended this hotel to my friends and colleagues.

This is not a 4 star resort. Not clean, rooms are not as beautiful as the pictures show. You are literally right on the ocean and they don t have sound proof window and doors, if you are a light sleeper, good luck. For it being a resort, there was not many places to hang out and enjoy the view. I recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

From the friendly valet staffs, front desk clerk, concierge to the spa staffs, everyone was cheerful, friendly and helpful. I really appreciate their kindness, especially with everything going on. My husband, our 4 yrs old son and I decided to stay here for our 1st year wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved it! From the moment the valet guy approached us to seeing the breath taken view of our gorgeous room. We can say enough great things about this resort. We travel a lot & stayed in many resorts for our jobs. This by far is one of the best, the beds are comfy with soft bedding, the room is updated. Fantastic view of the ocean, the sound of the waves sure helps us relax and sleep better. We really needed a little getaway, this was perfect! Our son loved the pool, kids pizza was delicious. We loved playing and walking around the beach. Not a lot of people & very clean beach. Thank you to all the friendly staffs for making our mini vacation a memorable one.

I have stayed here many times and loved it but will never be back. My wife and I came for our anniversary and were placed in a room that was about 80 square feet, no balcony, no ocean view, no moving air due to the fact it only had two small windows, and was so small that we could not comfortably sit in the room together. Despite begging the staff for four days to upgrade the room (and offering to pay for any upgrades), we were told that they were overbooked. In addition, a staff member told me that they would give us a night at no charge which was later rescinded by Management. Beware of the room selection.

Twas quite beautiful. Catalina terrace was resplendent with its absolutely stunning view of the ocean waves crashing gracefully onto the shore, laughter and joy echoing in concert. One thing detracted from the gorgeous view, however, as I had to carry all of my equipment up a deplorable set of stairs that made me feel like I was going to fall (less gracefully than the surrounding scenery) to an untimely end.

Beautiful hotel right on the waterfront. This was a favorite place to stay for me and my late husband. We spent a lot of time here. It is pricey but worth it and it's quietly relaxing and clean. The staff are also so nice and helpful. Treat yourself to a weekend and take your mind off of the outside world.

I stayed here a week for work and loved every minute of it. The fact that you are right on the ocean makes it amazing. You can hear the waves crashing in your room and they lulled me to sleep every night. The restaurant in the hotel had great dining options and I even snuck in a spa visit when I had free time. It was a great resort and if I'm back in that area I'd love to stay again.

We were looking for a resort right on the beach and we found it. What a great place. Casual and upscale with very friendly staff nestled around great restaurants. You can't ask for more than that.

Absolutely one of the best venues in America. Beautiful views, incredible service and rooms are great. Leave the patio doors wide open and enjoy the sounds and smell of the ocean. Absolutely breathtaking.

Amazing all they way around!!! Accommodating on every level!

Hotel, food and drinks great... But you really need to do something about the use of the jacuzzi! Since early in the morning until the access was closed, it was full of kids! During my weekend stay, around 10 kids, from 5 to 10 yrs old were there! The whole weekend! My wife and I weren't able to use it once!!

Well maintained rooms that are RIGHT on the beach. Beds are comfy and while the shower stall is small, it's still a good sized bathroom. Restaurant is good for breakfast and the downstairs bathroom is great for a nightcap

A beautiful hotel located right on the beach. A wonderful place to wake up every morning. A five star experience. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shops. Beautiful pool and very nice bar.

Not a better quiet Oceanfront Hotel in Southern California! Consistent with their delivery and a very friendly staff. Its the casual beach elegance that I enjoy the most! Its a "must do" if you have not already!

My stay at the resort was wonderful every Department of the resort was wonderful the restaurant was a little pricey but the food was worth it. I proposed to my girlfriend and they did everything to assist me in my proposal and made it there memorable and perfect
now I think I might decide to get married here. our view from our room was beautiful. It was beautiful the restaurant you was beautiful

Staff is nice. It's very hot in the room with no AC. No ironing board in the room. I can hear the sound of housekeeping staff and waves. Waves are not soothing...for some reasons. AI requested an ironing board and had disconnect the TV to use it. No power open outlet anywhere in the room or the bathroom. Outside air feels muggy in the warm room

Beach front in beautiful Laguna Beach. Wide ocean / Catalina Island views from patios. Easy walk to many restaurants and shops.
Large comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Some areas of hotel closed or restricted due to COVID restrictions.

Rooms are difficult, bad customer service from valet parking to concierge very good customer service from room service, a nice place if you want to stay by the beach

Far exceeded our expectations. Every interaction I had with employees was genuine, caring and thoughtful.

Having stayed at the Surf and Sand numerous times over the years, some times with family, sometimes with friends, and sometimes by myself. I can truly say I have not found a resort that I like more. Having traveled the world, I have told many around the world that they should treat themselves to the best resort I have ever experienced, the Surf and Sand.
