Omg You have to try the Chef's tasting and wine pairing nice work

I tried getting a room that was going to cost $1600 a night but I needed the room to be ready at 10am for my fiance's wedding day but they could and would not accommodate me..For this hotel to be so high end and cost me so much for my fiance's wedding day I'm very surprised that they cannot accommodate me. Would not staying there ever.

It was a good experience not over the top but we enjoyed with our family. The room was decent size with a beautiful beachfront balcony and a good size beach full of puppies. I saw the cleaning staff working very hard and also the valet parking crew was very helpful. One of the ladies cleaning gave us room service and we were so happy with her tidy a clean job, however we forgot to ask for her name. Mind you that these women are doing and amazing and mighty job during this pandemic. We only had a minor incident when it comes to the exit and entrance from the hotel and the beach or viceversa; a older gentleman who appeared to be the manager was upset that we were passing by with sand and our wet swimming wear back from the beach to our room however just one of the doors was accessible to our floor.
The gentleman was rude however my husband asked him to move and allow us to pass. There is another beach access, but it needs to be repaired, it is kinda dangerous and I am sure it is not up to code. We slept with our doors open listening to the sea waves however people were smoking marijuana so we had to close our doors. I would recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay max.
Parking is payed per day and tv package is not the best.

Cooking while watching the sea is the best. The sunset is beautiful.

Fantastic location and 5 star service. They over heard us at the front desk that we had a birthday. 10 minutes after getting into our room they brought us wine and chocolates. Everyone was very nice and views out to the ocean from the ocean front rooms is amazing. Sunsets right out your window over the ocean and Catalina island. We will be back.

Surf and Sand was beyond exceptional. Not only was the staff incredibly sweet and warm, but the location and views were second to none. We will definitely be coming back. What a wonderful getaway spot.

We came here twice together and it's become a place we absolutely love. Even though things are a tiny bit different with the pandemic going on, the experience didn't fail to be amazing. This place is beautiful! You are right on the ocean. The bed was so comfortable and the sound of the waves crashing made us sleep so well. It is a gorgeous place located near the center of Laguna. Walkable without heals.

Amazing rooms with the ocean waves crashing at your footstep! Clever wooden shutters accompany the glass sliders to the ocean. Can keep the sliders open, and the shutters closed to have the ocean waves as you sleep! Great hotel gym. Rooms are nice with a flat screen, tub, and pocket doors for the bathroom, and shower area. Pool is also lovely with ocean views. Third trip here, and always enjoy it. Friendly staff. Beach access is quick and easy! Dog friendly!

We went here for some drinks and couldn't have had a better time. We were basically right on the beach. The wine and service was great.

I had brunch here for my birthday and it was perfect. The food was tasty and the service was perfect.

Attentive and friendly service and delicious dishes. A nice wine list and lovely view of the surf. Portions are not very generous given the cost, however.

My wife and I stayed Monday on our way back to northern cal. Everyone there was extremely gracious and helpful. Can't wait to return. Quentessential southern Calif

Beautiful!! From the 180 view of the ocean from the balcony to the amazing gathering spots overlooking the sea. Bed was very comfortable. I would definitely go back!

I had booked this resort for my 40th birthday vacation from 9/4/19 - 9/13/19 however I only stayed 2 nights because upon checking in we found out the property doesn t have AIR CONDITIONING!!! This made the stay miserable and unbearable. Not to mention our room had ants. I will not stay here again.

Surf and Sand Resort was very nice. The rooms were not crazy cool or nice, but we're high quality and acceptable. The biggest bonus about the hotel was its location. The hotel was situated right on the water line, and we could walk straight from our room to the pool and then to the beach. The service was exceptional, and the food at every resteraunt was amazing. All in all I had a great time.

The hotel staff tried to break in our room. We found our room door wide open when we returned from dinner. The hotel security was standing near our room when when exited the elevator and found our door wide open. He denied entering and had the hotel ask us to leave. THEY MADE US LEAVE AFTER SOMEONE BROKE INTO OUR ROOM. I LEARNED ONLINE THUS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE SECURITY DID THIS TO A GUEST AT THIS RESORT. Horrible management and customer service!

Beautiful venue with a wonderful view. Attended as a wedding guest for both the ceremony and reception. Definitely recommend!

Parking was a bit tricky as they do valet only. I was just there on a delivery. The staff was very nice and helpful and it seemed like a good venue for a wedding.

We had brunch at Splashes. This place won't interest you... Unless you want a beautiful view, excellent food, and top-notch service. I can't wait to come back. Everything was great - the short rib quesadilla, bloody mary, strawberry cheesecake pancakes, even the beer list (all bottled, but great selection). Really a wonderful experience.

We went here on our honeymoon. The location is phenomenal. We had rooms a floor overlooking the pool and ocean. The sound of the waves was incredibly relaxing. I've been trying to find a similar sound on the internet to sleep to, but it's hard to recreate. So wonderful.

The pool was great and had a large hot tub. They played reggae/dub when we were there and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We enjoyed lounging and getting in the tub. The ocean is down the stairs from that if you want to get in. There were a lot of kids there. I think for a birthday party or something, but they were taking over the hot tub and the pool and they woke us up in the morning. If you're paying $500+/night for a room with your new wife, that's not what you hope to wake up to.

The rooms were solid. They weren't incredibly spacious, but the bed was super comfortable. There were robes to wear and ear plugs if the ocean was too loud, though I would have needed them more for the screaming children in the mornings. The blinds could have also been better at keeping out the light. Sleep masks would have been nice to have, but we forgot to pick some up, so it would have been great to have these provided. The carpets were dingy and felt kind of sticky on my bare feet, so it would have been nice to have some slippers provided to wear around. The stairwells were also a bit gross and could use some renovation. There was also a smell of cologne from I assume the previous resident in our room when we checked in, which was kind of gross.

There was a mini-bar but we didn't really want to use it except for the fridge. It would have been nice if there was a microwave. I overheard someone say they could bring an empty fridge and microwave in as I was checking out, so maybe that's a possibility, but we didn't know about it.

They had a DVD player in the room but no way to hook it up so I'm not sure why it was there. I discovered there was a Chromecast. Once I figured out how to use the Chromecast, it was nice to be able to stream movies. There wasn't a guide for using this or any indication it was there except for a channel called Chromecast in the guide, which didn't work (I had to switch the input to HDMI 3), so it could have been better, but it worked okay. There was no cell phone service in my room (T-Mobile), I think due to the location of the room, but there was fast Wi-Fi and I could place and receive Wi-Fi calls.

The house-keeping service was great and checked on us a couple of times a day, bringing bottled water and chocolate, which we enjoyed. There was one time that a maid opened the door without knocking while we were changing. I tried to explain that we were changing and she should come back later, but she just handed me a bottle of water and a bunch of chocolates. I don't think she spoke great English.

The price seemed reasonable at first but there were a lot of additional charges. While booking, there was a $200 fee, then there was a daily fee for the Valet, plus a daily resort fee/tax, so it ended up being more than I expected. It was nice to not worry about parking and the valet service was excellent, but I like to know how much things will cost up front when booking. We also weren't able to do a late check-out so that's also a little frustrating when you think you might have to use the bathroom soon and want to take a little extra time to get your things together, but they're kicking you out. They did offer to let us hang around the resort longer instead, but we decided to move on.

Overall, I enjoyed the stay despite the inconveniences of children screaming in the morning and the quality of the rooms, but I had hoped for more given the price.

First class resort! I gave 4 stars because nothing is perfect. The surf was right outside my balcony.

I wasn't 'wowed' in the food or services. But you do get direct access to the beach and ocean view at the table. So there's that!

We met for my friends birthday party at Surf & Sand in Laguna Beach. It was a blast and great service. It was my first time but I recommend the place.

Was here just for a meeting at our friends room. They were staying on the 9th floor. Right on the shore. Breathtaking view. Friendly and helpful front desk staff!

Good food..a bit expensive, felt a bit some racist. I drive a van,did not give me a valet privilege and when I went in, host said I'd have to wait 45 min, no reservation but when a couple walked in with no reservation, they immediate were given a table. Our server(s) was excellent and kind. I give him a 5 star.

Fantastic views, great service, beautiful rooms. The only two issues were not having A/C and the waves crash so close and loud that between the warmth and noise, it made it hard to sleep. If I were on Vacation I wouldn't mind. They provide earplugs. But it was rough for business when I was already fighting the time change from the East coast.

We stayed here for 2 nights great location great beach. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They have no charge umbrella and chairs that they will set up for you. I would stay in the tower with the Juliana Balconies. Stunning views from most rooms. Would recommend friends and family to stay at this establishment. Did not use the restaurants.

I love this hotel! The rooms are clean, nice, and comfortable and ocean views are fantastic! There is a lot of beauty that is accessible on foot right from the hotel including trials along the cliffs overlooking the ocean, a sandy beach a short distance away, and Glass Beach....there is also a long paved path for long walks or bike rides. The surrounding area is great, too...full of natural beauty and good restaurants and staying at this hotel makes the visit extra special.

This is my favorite oceanside hotel since 1988! I grew up in Mission Viejo and our mom brought our family here for holidays and New Year s celebrations. We ve stayed here many many times over the years! Beautiful location and always a wonderful experience! Lovely memories!

We had an amazing time at this hotel. Great food and service. The views are top notch.

It was beautiful place are room was facing the beautiful ocean and at night and early in the morning you could here the sound of ocean love it!! had no air conditioning i didn't mind that it didn't have air conditioning they gave us bottle water and a bucket of ice to place the water in the refrigerator in the room was not working and when you turned on the water it smelled like rotten egg but the service was good

Very old. Dirty. No A/C. Low class. Big disappointment. Took my wife there for a few days over her birthday. Will NEVER go back. We tell all our friends how bad it was. Way over priced for what you get.

This is our favorite hotel in Laguna Beach. The staff here does an amazing job at taking care of their guest.

The rooms are always clean, large, and they have ocean views which we really enjoy. If you're looking for a friendly beach resort right in Laguna Beach, this is the place you should go.

Amazing hotel that goes out of there way to meet your every need.

The entire experience was great. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and the rooms are right on the beach. We were so close to the water that we had to close our door at night because the crashing waves were so loud. We will be back again.

If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. I only stayed there 1 night for some company meetings that were held on site. Sydney, was especially kind and helpful. The view from the balcony right outside my room door was absolutely stunning. If you want an amazing view ask for room 458. A coworker watched dolphins playing right below our balcony. It isn't inexpensive (nothing in California is) but I will be looking for an opportunity to take my wife back for the experience. Not a mega hotel but a wonderful quality experience.

I attended the Surf & Sand Resort for a work event. We rented the pelican room I believe and it was very pleasant. Staff was kind and food & drinks were excellent.

Best views from the bar and lounge in Laguna Beach. Drinks and food are great.

I didn't go to the resort but I went to the restaurant good food not a lot for the price but it's Laguna so it is to be expected.

Really expensive to have no air conditioning. Was there for a heat wave and sleeping at night was brutal!

Love love love!!! Can't say enough good things. Easy check in process. Great staff, know ledgable employees. Clean gear. They were so much fun and great with kids. Big thank you to Javi who was our awesome instructor.

My wife has been staying there for the last 40 years and now every year we gather as many family members as we can and we go they have a nice beautiful beach and a pool that the children go back and forth from the spa to the ocean to warm up the bedrooms are amazing you sleep with a sliding glass door open and you hear the ocean the rooms are nice and clean all the time and everyone is friendly I tell everyone to check it out on YouTube or my personal video you can walk your dog early in the morning during the busy season and all day long off-season they are allowed the beach is great great for walking there is absolutely nothing that I can say about this place I urge everyone to check it out

Was there for a wedding. Resort was beautiful in the summer. Drinks at the bar was good and service very quick. Food was mediocre however, parmesan chicken dry.

Incredible staff, unreal ocean view from room, great accommodations, and again - BEST STAFF SERVICE I have experienced at any hotel I've ever stayed at!

Overall great experience but at the end the only thing that really tainted it was the fact that they messed up our cupcakes from our wedding when they stored them and they were all smashed and upside down, and when we specifically asked him to freeze our cake they did not which was very inconvenient because we were traveling.
