he service is friendly and attentive and food excellent . We shared the Blackened chicken Nachos which were out of the world. The restaurant is equally top notch.

The staff at the Surf and Sand Resort made our anniversary so special! Room was so nice and it had an amazing view! Their attention to detail and high class service is unmatched!

Splashes was very crowded for lunch on Sunday. For the price, the food is just okay. You're paying for the excellent service and beautiful view of the ocean. Validated valet parking is $8.

Nice spacious rooms with beautiful ocean views. Just a short walk away from main beach this is a great place to stay. Friendly staff

I come here as a local for the amazing location. Have drinks and food then relax on the beach. Pretty hard to beat. Staff is great. This is how you take a vacation for a day.

I've never stayed at this location, but if it is half as good as it's employees, it deserves 100 stars! 20 years ago a man named Eric Cantrell was working here and I mistakingly called thinking I was calling a crisis hotline. I was very depressed and prepared to end my life and it was a last resort(pardon the pun) for me to call for help. When he received my call, not only did he try to find me a correct hotline number to call, but he also chatted with me to find out what was up and why I was so upset and willing to give up. The fact that a complete stranger across the country would even try to help me was so amazing to me! He quite literally saved my life that night. I realized that people DO care about you even when you don't realize it and we are most certainly not alone in this world! I thank God every day for that "wrong" number! Anyone else would've just told me I had a wrong number and hung up. It truly was a miracle! Someday I hope to bring my family out for a visit ( we are in Connecticut)! I wish I knew what Eric was up to so I could meet him and thank him. He really is an angel.

Great resort with oceanfront views. All 5 staff members we interacted with were very friendly and genuinely wanted to help.

Delicious food, excellent service with spectacular view of the ocean.

Resort is beautiful.. and the splashes restaurant is very good.. just unnecessarily pricey.. $16 for a small salad doesn't make sense.

What an amazing time! The rooms are right on the ocean. The spa services were absolutely amazing. Didn't dine here because the wait was incredibly long, even with our reservation but there were plenty of places nearby to eat.

Corona Virus Super Spreader hotel & restaurant. We made a dinner reservation at Splashes. While having dinner we observed at least 90% of the people not wearing masks walking around the hotel, walking in from the pool area through the restaurant, in the restaurant, bathrooms, getting in the elevators, etc. I expressed my concern to the dining room manager named Sam and his response was that they cannot force people to wear masks. The hell they can't. A customer walked up to the blonde hostess at Splashes and said sorry I forgot my mask. The hostess said, oh it's okay. No, it's not okay. This hotel/restaurant only cares about the $$$$. They could care less about your health, my health, their employees health. We cancelled a reservation we had at the hotel after learning that masks are not enforced. They have also lost a customer at Splashes restaurant. We will never return to such a careless establishment. Shame on you Surf and Sand. You should care more about your customers and employees. Your Corona Virus Super Spreader hotel & restaurant are not worthy of any customers! We plan to stay at the Ritz Carlton instead.

This place is great we come here two or three times a year best place in the world great food great pool nice cabana's

Enjoyed 20th wedding anniversary here. We were on the 9th floor. Room was a perfect size. If you want more of a balcony stay on the 8th floor and below. Walked on the beach and enjoyed the pool. Staff was very friendly. We will surely stay here again.

The rooms have wonderful views of the ocean. The staff was wonderful, the sheets luxurious, and the valet on point.

I really wish I could give the resort all 5 stars. It was absolutely beautiful! Every employee was exceptional. Splashes is a wonderful restaurant. Splashes bar is beautiful and the bartenders are very kind. Our room service was excellent and on time. The one and only complaint.... the couple staying next to us constantly smoked on their balcony. I believe they are all supposed to be smoke free. We called several times to the front desk but the smoking persisted. We were so bummed we couldn't leave our door open to the balcony to hear the ocean. The reason we wanted to stay there. Due to a transplant I cannot be around cigarette smoke so our time unfortunately was ruined. I wish the front desk would have done something or warned us about the smoking or offered to move us. Otherwise the resort is magnificent.

The surroundings are fantastic. We were sitting in a bar just next to the ocean waves, very soothing and inspiring. The place itself a little worn and needs refurbishing.

Location, location, location. Service was friendly. Rooms are a bit dated but the overall experience was amazing. Will be back.

I attended a friend's wedding here. It was great - the view of the ocean from the terrace was amazing and the ballroom where the reception was held was very nice. It had a very intimate and personal feeling.

I learned to surf here and if your busy or not answering, just go to the press!! Also I found the site one supply landscape blue flag! Now I know all ways to get to fashion island!! Life is beautiful!

I had my parents stay here from Florida. They absolutely loved it. We had dinner and dessert at the restaurant downstairs and it was so cozy.

The room had a great view of the ocean. The service was great and met all my expectations.

What a beautiful place. My children and I needed a mini vacation. I never wanted to leave. From the moment we arrived we were treated not just as a guest but as family members. Dinner was amazing. Arriving to the most beautiful room with champagne on ice and a personal invite from the surf and sand famous chef to attend dinner was by far one of the best parts of the stay. My children and I were spoiled and after all we have been through it was a breathe of fresh air we needed. BIG THANKS TO SURF AND SAND and to a Kimberly a server in the restaurant.. You are amazing always going above and beyond with care and it shows if there were only more people in this world with that positive light things wouldn't be so dark!

Food was delicious with lovely beach views. Really enjoyed filet. Servers were nice but had to ask for bread on multiple occasions to get extra served once (we had a starving pregnant guest with us).

Totally iconic SoCal resort! The staff is incredible and their attention to detail is flawless. They anticipate your needs before you do. Enjoyed several meals on the property, unique and very good. Of course, an oceanfront balcony over the crashing surf is the icing on the cake! Well done, Surf and Sand!

This is where I always recommend family and friends stay if they are visiting OC. It is literally RIGHT ON THE SAND. Absolutely gorgeous! Fun restaurant and bar right on the water. Great for romance, kids and work related affairs.
Its also a lot cheaper than the 5 star resorts close by that can be snotty. My fav!

Garbage for a $100 more you can stay at the Ritz Carlton and it s a way better hotel. The people at the Surf and Sand are ridiculously FAKE. Worst over priced hotel. Rip Off!!

Amazing location, luxurious rooms, great restaurant, attentive staff. The concierge had great tickets to sold out Pageant of the Masters, and she wisely recommended taking the free trolley to the event.
An extra shout-out to the employee, Ken Nguyen, who tended the poolside Sundaes and Scoops ice cream social- well done!

The Surf & Sand Resort is beautiful and right on the Pacific Ocean. There are Incredible ocean views from every room and the sunsets are amazing! The staff are very attentive and friendly. Darcel at the front desk was especially great to work with and made my wife and I feel special.

If you are coming to Southern California, you need to experience Laguna Beach and the Surf & Sand. Resort.

This hideaway is one of the best kept secret in Laguna. We were lucky and honored to be in one of the locals confidence who share with us her favorite place in town. Best food, best waiter and service from other staff. This delightful place is right on the beach. And to top it off, we were there to see the sun dip into the beautiful ocean. Thanks to all who served us.

Must see, must do. Food is awesome rooms even better.

Pricey, but very nice oceanfront resort. Dining here is very nice.

The view is to die for. The service ie a little on and off depending on who you get and how busy they are.

We have reserved our first valentines dinner five months ahead woth special request of seating next to window.when we arroved Bruce.The manager had very cocky attitude mentioning ppl that they have forty ppl on waiting list to seat in.This place treat ppl only as profit,not as indivisual customer service take ppl happily come back..Also when we asked ,and pre fixed menue was pretty pricey for a person,but that is not a point,cpuld we spleat one pre fix meal for two,for dietary reason,bruce ,the mngr,rudly said,oh well maybe this restaurant venue is not for you guys.Really? The point of planning here in advance amd putting request in advance,was pointless.Overall we like the location of the hotel, but is as expencive as Pelican Hills, but Pelican Hills rooms much more beautiful and larger, I guess we are paying for ocean sound.

Great family or couple site, with an awesome staff & quick valet service

Love Michael's! It's great to be able to get essential craft supplies when you need them. Michael's has a great selection and if you sign up via email you get awesome discounts. I really hope they never close. It's just fun being able to walk into a store and buy things.

The location is amazing and the service was excellent. We were there for a work event and the catering was delicious for every meal. It's an expensive place, but if you have the opportunity, it's a great place to stay!

As a local, I took a wellness day and booked a spa treatment, which was with Jordie and outstanding (five stars!). Unfortunately, post-spa treatment was not relaxing as there is loud road noise and no ocean view. It's too bad the spa doesn't take advantage of the hotel's great location on the water.

I then went to the bar for a glass of wine around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. It is a beautiful location overlooking the ocean. It's a small bar with about 10 tables, of which three were occupied. The bartender and server were chit-chatting and never acknowledged me. After waiting quite awhile, I got up and asked for a menu.

Jordie deserves five stars, bar staff deserves one star - so unfortunately total stars equals three.

Beautiful place. Valet parking which is nice. Restaurant and bars were really good. The beach being a stairway away and they set up the umbrellas and chairs and provided the towels. Wish we could've stayed longer. Will definitely return!

Although I live 8 minutes away this place has become second home to my family and I. The private beach , the great waiters by the pool and front desks it feels like we are visiting friends. So much so that we keep running into new friends we met last month. Thank you for your excellent serve. See you soon.
