I would give 5 stars for the institute but if you call to move an appointment you will remain hours on the phone listening to the recorded message inviting to donations and then the line will fall without being able to talk to anyone!

This is Italy to be proud of !!

This is Italy to be proud of !!
I saw doctors enter the operating room at 7 and leave at 11pm with a smile on their face. Excellence in the orthopedic field. Whatever the degree of complexity of the intervention to be performed you can be sure that in this hospital you have the best chances of success.
My partner courageously underwent spinal arthrodesis (surely one of the most complex and invasive interventions of orthopedic surgery). The doctor who performed the surgery was Prof Faldini Cesare who with great professionalism successfully completed the preventive measures. Thanks also to his young and competent staff (Dr Perna, Dr Geraci and others) who made the stay as traumatic as possible! The only drawback, some old nursing mentalities still belonging to the Paleozoic era who experience social envy for the dozen (those who book interventions and paid stays).

(from a small speech)

(from a small speech)
Apart from the professionalism and excellence of the hospital, but I would abolish private visits. they make them last as little as possible, every question "about their physical condition" seems to be taking away their soul. although private the visit to the first email they answer (by appointment and money) to the second due to the doubts of the poor we patients nobody shows up. then there are those who have their own business and various intrigues which they divert to others (family members - collaborators) to continue their rehabilitation ...
There are professors and arrogant professors, they can open a body as they please but have no personality.
In hindsight, I would have accepted the free follow-up visits with the hospital outpatient clinic.
I recommend the hospital, of course, who more than Rizzoli.

Requested appointment with dr Bandiera in intramen...

Requested appointment with dr Bandiera in intramenia to do first, granted after two months for h 16.30 on 10/31/19. Timely arrival from Rome tired and in pain. They call me for the visit at 5.30pm. I am received by a lady who, at my request to know who she was, presents herself as a "collaborator" of the doctor. I paid 150.00 euros to be visited by a "collaborator" of a unique, unfriendly and arrogant acidity. When asked if I was in pain, I replied "yes, very strong" I feel answered: "Madam, for us the pains are very strong only those of those who are in a wheelchair ..." At the end of the visit he also told me "not he understands why he came this far ... ", this because I was not in a wheelchair, so in his opinion, I was not. At the end of the visit, dr. Flag. He merely heard what his "collaborator" had deduced from the visit to give me directions on what to do. My condition will not be as serious as someone who is confined to a wheelchair, but I am certainly not feeling well since I have very strong pains 24 hours a day. I expected a minimum of consideration as a center of excellence which the Rizzoli. I have wasted time, money and energy.

Despite the long wait in PS, I was welcomed and looked after perfectly. Kind and professional nurses and support staff, attentive and caring doctors. They also set me up for subsequent visits without letting me pass the Cup. Thanks to Dr. German from the emergency room.

I did two cycles of rehabilitation in 'Palestra', in both cases both the physiotherapists and the two trainees received me and followed with professionalism, really helping me with the enthusiasm of those who believe and want to make you recover. It was essential to not let me go, and I really wanted to do a cycle more, even paid, but unfortunately it was not possible .. Thanks for everything!

First of all it's an hospital and Institute of research connected to the University of Bologna specialized in orthopedic. I have recently been operated my leg due to a multiple fracture of my tibia and perone ( those 2 bones on the lower part of the leg between knee and foot). The service it's free for Italians, I mean we pay with taxes , but a public service not private. Everyone has done a great job, beside the operation itself wich ,even if early days, seems to have been a success; but all the staff, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, have great great. I just need to thank these people for the service provided. Well done.

I am amazed how an institution of this value years later did not put the material of my mother's surgery on the spine. My mother was operated on for spinal stabilization in 1997 and no one knows what they put on her, if she had to do an MRI no one takes responsibility because they don't know the material used. ..... MAH !! However, it had to be an intervention aimed at getting better .. but it wasn't like that ..

I give a single star because it is due, we found ourselves not bad but more, every doctor who visits you tells you something different, they have hospitalized my son of just 3 years for a leg operation, but the night before surgery he has visited another doctor saying that we can not operate and that the 3-year-old boy pretends to march on "a metatarsovaro", to underline that we are from another region, absurd.
Rude, it also seems to bother him if you ask for something, x my experience I did visit my son at least 5 times and each time getting worse. I heard things say absurd. MAKE ME MORE. Shame above all because they are children and families who come not only have a hope that you solve a problem, but also because arrogance in this field should not really be there.

When my family needs an orthopedic visit, even if it is distant, we go together. Here the doctors don't treat you like a "number". Here the doctors listen to you and will do their best for the cause. Very punctual, which is very important.
I hope to come back as late as possible though

I was operated on for an alleged meniscal cyst..Diagnostic with a 20 minute visit (250 euros) from the primary .. reassuring myself that this was the problem and that he would operate on me ..
I accept and call me after 2 months ..
I arrive there and there is not the primary but a doctor of his team ..
I work and I go back to the south 800 km ..
After a month I go to a check-up with the same identical (pre-operative) anterior lateral pain and a swollen knee ..
After getting 800 km I find the 3 doctor k visits me (lasted 5 minutes) and I liquidate myself with medicine and he tells me to go swimming ..
I come back home, another 800 km and I begin rehabilitation and care proposed .. Result?
same pain .. we announce after 1 month and fixed another visit with the doctor k operated on me .. (never known, in fact a nurse came in the room to explain the operation done fatta) Arrival from him:
Same procedure, I diagnose a tendonitis and says ke my cyst now no longer but obviously I had tendonitis .. (150 euros visit) prescribes me other treatments.
I go down wrong and I do nothing ..
Contact me and ask me for further checks
I do them and I go up (800 km)
Visit 100 euros and diagnose another different problem (fibular head osteitis) I go down (800km)
I do the treatment for 2 and a half months (500 euros) and nothing the same pain .. I go up 800 km and it tells me k maybe the cyst is reborn.. ..
And he proposes me the 2 Xo operation telling me not to be sure about the k I had ..At this point I object and leave the room pissed ..
Moral of the story:
1) they operated on me without really understanding what I had ...
2) they made me go up 3 times after the operation without solving and paying handsomely ..
3) not knowing what to do they proposed me to redo the intervention ..
BAD EXPERIENCE ...

My father was kicked out of the prosthetic surgery...

My father was kicked out of the prosthetic surgery department 6 days after (not 7 as usual) having undergone an operation on the hip, as the head nurse Gerardina (or Dina) Protupapa has made every effort not to make him remain a more night than necessary. Unfortunately for us the transfer was only possible on Thursday, that is eight days later, but for her it was absolutely not possible because we had to free the place, so we had to go out on Tuesday, that is precisely the sixth day. The motivation given to us by this was: 'We have to do 6 interventions a day for the region otherwise it won't give us the money!'.
Worse still, when I went to pick up my father, I found that Protupapa, head of the department, evidently had taken away his bed and bedside table, putting his hands in his things, pulling everything out of the drawers and throwing everything in bulk on the table. All at 8 in the morning while my father was in the bathroom washing himself. Imagine you, for a man who has just undergone surgery, in a condition of fragility, being treated as a waste by people who were supposed to protect him. And don't even have a seat to sit.

The Rizzoli hospital in Bologna is a merciless money factory for those who are suffering. And remember to arrange for the transfer to rehabilitation as soon as the hospitalization takes place, because if some mishap is created Protupapa is able to throw you out without mercy.

I do not want to go into the merits of the architectural beauty of the hospital or the location in which it is located. I had to do a left hip prosthesis surgery, performed by the Proff team. Dallari. There is only one term for defining the quality and skill of these SUPER people. I would like to express my gratitude to the medical, nursing and support staff working in this ward. Both for professionalism, kindness and availability Thanks Thanks Thanks

The Dott. Federico Giardina worth a 5-star review! Professional, friendly, helpful, reassuring, humble, very kind, very present, in short, the top !!! All his staff colleagues auxiliary physiotherapists etc. are exceptional !! I would define Prof. Traina's prosthetic surgery department (of which Dr. Giardina is a member) as a serene environment with attentive and prepared staff. My mother owes all the credit for walking back to the great Dr. Giardina, who, unlike others, took the responsibility of operating her in spite of the problems of a previous pulmonary embolism with the risk of relapse !! Thanks again Doctor!

it will also be the Italian excellence of orthoped...

it will also be the Italian excellence of orthopedics, but many aspects really leave something to be desired.
Do we want to talk about the pediatric orthopedics department ?! they hospitalized my two-month-old son for a tenotomy and I heard things like "is your son fully weaned already?" ...
On the pre-admission sheet, they confirm that they have infant formula available, but then they do not specify that they do not have disposable bottles (and not even the hospital pharmacy).
During covid time the father can only be present for two hours a day, and even if during family visits, there can be only one or the other parent.
The nurses are quite disorganized, they do not follow common guidelines and in addition they seem to work in a climate of tension (perhaps frightened by the head of the department ?! who I have heard screaming several times).
Among other things, I happened to hear some nurses complain about the fact that patients (always children) required continuous assistance for fun
Not to mention the head of the ward, who probably has breakfast with bread and little sympathy and scolded me (not very politely) "lady breaks my bed, can't stay there" ... I was trying to breastfeed my child, the other option it was the sofa bed (very uncomfortable as an armchair, without infamy and without praise as a bed).
A word of advice, you are working with children ... smile you don't get wrinkles!

Angels from heaven. Professionalism, humanity, availability. If it is true that healthcare in Italy leaves much to be desired, Rizzoli remains a unique exception in Italy. Italian excellence. After going around the hospitals of Salento for months, where no one took responsibility for intervening, I went to Rizzoli. Without delay and without fear they operated and after months of pain it took only 4 days from the surgery to go back to walking on my legs ... A special thanks to Prof. Donati and Dr. Bianchi G. and more generally to the whole them the team, as well as thanks to all the nurses of the 3rd orthopedic clinic in prev. oncology address. You are unique.

Nothing to say about the internal departments, but...

Nothing to say about the internal departments, but when an emergency room makes you wait more than 3/4 hours, it means that there is something wrong. The reason for these expectations are obvious. Staff under the size of patients (read need). It will be said that there are no resources. I would say no. Resources must be addressed where there are needs. And this is a CHRONIC need! In the last year I have had to in spite of myself access several times at the ready s. Maggiore and Rizzoli and all the times I have waited more than 5/6 hours. So in fact it is in fact gangrenous, that is taken for granted by those who direct the shack that you patient syrup 5 hours of waiting. A shame! I wonder if a politician of any color has ever had this experience. Certainly not even because the politicians have health insurance paid by us, visits to the interventions are paid, that is, we pay them ox people.

I entered the Rizzoli hospital for the first time since I was just 1 year old due to a congenital malformation in the left leg. I have been up and down from Puglia for 17 years..I am now a 33 year old woman and I still remember the professionalism, kindness of the doctors of that time and above all of my doctor who treated me for all those years, the magnificent Doctor Gabriele Poli who I will never stop thanking
