Good value ferry but bring your own food (its pricy) and entertainment, not much choice. Staff were efficient and mostly curtious but definately not friendly. Social distancing was observed but sanitiser stations were empty and could be placed better (near doors and contact surfaces etc). The cabin and public areas are comfortable and well maintained and clean.

The trird time and everytime super. Oscar Wilde after reconstruction very nice, only the interior doesn't look like a ship-interior anymore - sentiment. (-: The whole personal was super evetime and this is the reason of my review. Thank you for the good workers choice! Stay this line!

This review relates to Irish Ferries W.B. Yeats, the new (May 2019) ship sailing Dublin-Cherbourg.

This ship is brand new. It is advertised as luxurious but falls far short of this. It lacks comfortable, pleasant areas to relax. All the seating is functional. It's more like an airport terminal than a cruise ship. Food choices are limited and expensive. (Dinner in the restaurant is 59.) The play area for children is tiny. There are fewer choices of places to eat or drink than there were on the old Oscar Wilde.

It's not all bad. Cabins are comfortable with surprisingly good pillows and mattresses. There are lots of power points throughout the ship (continental style). It is quiet and, at least for the two crossings I experienced, smooth.

Overall, this ship is a step backwards compared to its predecessor, the Oscar Wilde. Given the hype and the expectation, the W. B. Yeats is a dissappointment.

Good and uncomplicated service. Nice personel. Unfortunately, the Epsilon is currently still being used on the route from France to Dublin. Why the smallest ferry is used for the longest route is not clear to me, but according to some fellow travelers, a new ferry with a little more "entertainment" will be used for the 2019 season.
Otherwise reasonable prices for food, drink and the crossing itself.
If you find out beforehand, you can switch your mobile phone to flight mode in order not to pay for satellite roaming. But that's the case on all ferries around the world, so don't be angry but inform yourself beforehand. WLAN works, however, and its speed is acceptable.

Swift & Ulysses (Club Class) are brilliant. Epsilon, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired; very limited space, comfort is lacking and food is terrible. Avoid this crossing if you can.

Have to pay to call to discuss a cancellation of an already paid for service. How is that OK? I understand weather issues happen but it is not OK to charge me to call you to discuss my options.

Also paid a premium for the Dublin Swift service and there is no compensation/refund of price difference for the fact I am now on a cheaper longer service which I could have booked for a lower price.

They cancelled the crossing I booked. We were moved onto a boat so small before all the truck drivers went to their cabins there was litterly nowhere to sit.
When I asked a member of staff if there was somewhere my 80 year old disabled mother could sit he pointed at a row of hard kitchen type chairs with no arms ( people with limited upper body strength will know how important arms on chairs are) that were placed in walkway out side the toilets and said there are plenty of chairs just no tables. We sat in a cold walk way for 3 and a half hours while others lay down asleep across the very few soft seats. The staff did nothing even when we asked them for help.

Apparently not if you sail @irishferries.
Never again and I mean never ever again.
If you need to travel with anyone elderly or infirm please please dont put them through what we have just been through

Clear transfer from the train to Dublin. Beware - no food sold at the train/ferry station in Holyhead. You'll have to wait til you board the boat. The Ulysses was a beautiful boat with plenty of seating and outside space at the back of the boat. The reclining seats made for a nice nap.

Took the 2am ferry from Dublin to Holyhead and opted for a cabin as we are 3 kids and 2 adults. We could hear every word coming from people next to us..thin walls. But beds were comfortable and towells were provided so you could have a shower. Steep ramps, getting on and off the boat but no hassle for an automatic car...good clutch control and handbreah is needed..

Ideal.

Came home from Ireland and was a very quiet crossing, we had a two bedroom plus berth and it was lovely to have a fresh warm drink in our cabin with an assortment of biscuits and had a short sleep and a shower and felt refreshed for the journey home.

Well it all started with a 2.30pm crossing from Holyhead to dub. At 11am I get a text while driving from London to Holyhead to say the boat is delayed... 90mins... But this has been the case for a few days, which messed up my plans and More

they didn t let us on the boat even though we were 20 minutes early (we found out later that you need to come even earlier but there is no notice about that if you book via virgin trains website). As a result we lost all day and money. The guy on the counter in Dublin port was very rude and started laughing at me when I asked if something can be done. I also tried to call the company - no response because it s weekend (amazing, lads, have you heard about 24/7 customer support? Not so progressive to have it?)
Disgrace.

Think I preferred the Oscar Wilde. No Steakhouse on WBYates and Lady Gregory @ 60 a head a bit much, especially if eating on one's own. And bar much more crowded and less comfortable than on OW. (I did not have a chance to check club class lounge). The room tvs were very limited in channels and could not get any Irish channel. And frankly despite living in Dublin suburbs I actually preferred Rosslare embarcation (got slightly lost finding Dublin Port Irish Ferries embarcation). Last but not least (and bearing in mind I have been travelling with Irish Ferries for more years than I can recall), Roscoff suits me much better than Cherbourg. Only plus is that Irish Ferries now provide decent pillows in the cabins.

Very pleasantly surprised, not been on an Irish ferry before and we paid 18pp for an upgrade and it was well worth it. Free nibbles and drinks ( not alcoholic) for the duration of the crossing. Very comfortable and staff very pleasant and I didn't suffer with sea sickness.

The outward journey was fine on the Dublin swift lots of space and amenities, however the return journey on the Epsilon which was terrible, the Epsilon is a frieght ferry and not designed for high passenger numbers and lacked services. Avoid the Epsilon if possible.
