I really wanted to like Interfirst. They truly had the best rate for me and was the cheapest option for our refinance now that interest rates are so low.

The process started out great. They requested all of our documents and we provided everything. They then went dark. After about a month of not hearing back, I reached out and they needed something from my HOA but NEVER communicated this to me.

From that point forward, trying to get anything done with them was like pulling teeth. I had to be the one to initiate any communication, next steps, deliverables, etc. to get my refi to close. It took a week shy of 3 months to close the refinance. On the day of the closing, the clearing company told that the cash to close figure Interfirst gave to me was not accurate. Luckily the closing company was willing to accept a personal check for the difference, but Interfirst couldn't even be bothered to get me an accurate amount to close on the day of my closing. That being said, everything was signed two days ago and I've now Interfirst sent multiple emails asking them to confirm everything has been taken care of. What a surprise, they haven't said anything to me to indicate that my old mortgage has closed.

Either my business wasn't important to Interfirst or they really don't have their act together. Either way, there's no way I would recommend this bank to another home owner. Take your business to a bank that takes your mortgage as seriously as you do.

Awesome company to work with, they are on the ball all through the transaction. They have great rates and low closing costs, with no surprises or changes. Rate and terms were exactly as originally quoted.

I would NOT recommend this company at all. The loan officer, Ron, was not responsive and unprofessional. They ran my husband's credit, had him sign all the loan documents and provided him the information, and then he just disappeared. We called many times and left vm, no responses. We emailed him multiple times, no email back either. I spoke to his manager Rocky who promised to call us back and resolve the issue the very next day. No response or email even after we called him several times. Worst Mortgage Company and customer service EVER!

Documents were easy to upload. I got a great rate and costs were much lower than others. It did take a little while but not more than market average given the volume at the time. The person who came to my house to sign documents was friendly and professional.

Fantastic customer service . I am glad to have refinanced my mortgage with Interfirst. Everyone on the team that I worked with were very knowledgeable, friendly and very quick with their responses ( especially Geneva ). Highly recommended.

Though I originally posted a 1 star review of Interfirst. I have updated my review after they reached out to me to correct issues.

There were some things that Interfirst did not do well in the beginning, the biggest was responsiveness. I was told 60 days to close in the beginning. Around 60 I started questioning why communication was lacking after completing everything timely on my end. Come to find out my application was put in a hole because some staff did not understand 501c3 ownership structure and were trying to process my loan as if I were an owner. I left a negative review and around 80 days since applying, and losing all confidence in Interfirst, the VP called and got things straightened out. They then took good care of me and got me to close. All-in-all it took about 130 days, which is a very long time, but I am happy that they got the loan closed and did their best job to make it a quality loan for me. I was thankfully not in a hurry on my refinance, and I was glad that they reached out to me personally once I made my dissatisfaction so public. I am satisfied. Should close next week.

First, it took almost 4 months to close our refinance loan. Second, there was a lack of communication until Ed stepped in. Finally, the initial rep informed me that my rate would automatically float down if rates fell before we closed, but that was not true. Interfirst posted lower rates on Bankrate.com; but my rate did not adjust. Ed eventually did lower my rate (a little) as a nice gesture for my patience through the very lengthy process. We finally did close the loan, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this company.

This mortgage company is, with 1 exception, the worst mortgage company I have had. I have excellent credit yet they put my refinance through the ringer and took 2 months to get it through. Then, they lost the first mortgage payment that I made in June. I tried to sort this out with them providing proof of payments now for June (3 times), July (3 times), August (2 times), and September (1 time) and they are now sending me debt collection letters because they still believe they have never received June's payment. Even though I sent them the proof of payment from the bank with the cashed check images. I have called them several times to sort this out and they still can't seem to get it fixed. They even have charged late fees...they reversed one of them only to hit me with another! I would avoid this company...

I had a great experience with Interfirst Mortgage Company. The process of refinancing our home was quick and easy for us. I really appreciated the straightforward quote and professional service received. I was glad we were able to take advantage of historically low rates to save years off our original term and thousands of dollars in interest. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire process!

Don t use this company. Stop communication with them now and save your time. Bait and switch. Offer to compete with other respectable mortgage companies by email but then loan offer is not even close to email thread: For 30 year loan as opposed to 15 year as discussed throughout. No cash back as opposed to what was discussed throughout. Then comes back with $70 a month more payment (as opposed to $5 less a month to beat competing company that they said they would initially easily beat). Again, save your time. I researched 10 companies before making my decision and this is the only review that I posted at all on mortgage companies. Your welcome. My other reviews are positive and offer objectivity except 1 other negative review.

I refinanced 3 mortgages with Interfirst Mortgage. The website and document upload process was very straightforward. The underwriting was slow due to pandemic and very heavy refinance volume, but Interfirst did a great job of getting me through it, keeping me informed along the way, and I was extremely pleased with how everything ended up. I was quoted very competitive terms and the final mortgages were exactly as quoted, or better! My loan originator (Marcel) and processor (Jennifer) were professional and responsive. I would not hesitate to used them for refinance in the future!!

I wont recommend this company at all , I found them on BankRate and at the beginning they were super professional Mr Ronald DE Leon very responsive on the process of refinancing, but Diana Williams took over and after 45 days of wait I had to switch to another company , because they just were M.I.A. they waste all my time and actually kept a lot of my personal information

This company does not care about your business or getting your loan right! Lisa L. never responded to calls and took days to respond to emails. When she did respond, she either avoided questions all together or only answered one of our questions. Loan closing was delayed by weeks because they did it wrong twice (messed up closing cost and then the title). This could have resulted in out paying $1,300 extra, if we hadn t caught it! Completed survey after closing and mgmt wanted to meet to discuss...they were a no show! BEWARE!
UPDATE: They never met with me to discuss. Scheduled a meeting and then didn t show. Don t believe their response below! They did nothing to resolve! Only contacted me after my review....

We enjoyed working with the team at Interfirst Mortgage throughout our refinance package. The process was easy to navigate through the intranet along with personal communication when needed. Interfirst was 1 of 3 mortgage companies to present a cost to refinance our mortgage and they held true to their quote. Overall we were very pleased with the closing of our loan through Intrafirst.

Really appreciated working with Boris and the team at Interfirst for our refinance! He explained every detail, was very accessible for questions and they offered a super competitive rate. Honestly, the best I could find. I have zero complaints and would highly recommend them!

We got the best rate for our refinance and the process was relatively easy. We had one small snag during the process, but in the end didn't matter. Everyone was helpful along way and I would definitely use them again!

If you want a loan process to take 75 plus days then use this company. We have enough liquid cash assets to pay off our loan but since rates are so low we are just refinancing. The things they are asking us to provide are beyond what is reasonable. They asked for my parents mortgage statement because their public request record showed I owned my parents home. My letter saying no I don't wasn't good enough they wanted my parents mortgage statement. I told them to pull title to prove it but when that included $ out of their pocket they changed the condition. You provide documentation as requested then it sits for 2 weeks and then you have to send more documents because they are now old and out of date. The worst experience I've ever had. Credit score over 800 and cash that would cover the loan and they are insisting on paying off our American Express card which must be paid monthly as it isn't a revolving credit card. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. Unless you want to continue to provide them documents after 3 months.

Update we closed our loan in mid-August and they withheld money to pay our taxes. It has been a month and a half. Our taxes are still outstanding and nobody will call us back. In the meantime interest is accruing on our tax bill.

They also had our closing documents wrong which required that the notary come back a second time for us to sign our loan docs. I had to take time off of work to sign the documents which were still not correct. We had to cross off and initial the incorrect information.

This is the worst experience dealing with a mortgage company in my life. Avoid avoid avoid!

After this review, I started working with another lender for my refi. Out of the blue, Interfirst contacted me and would like to remedy my bad experience. From the gate, they promised one-week approval. Seeing that I had invested so much time into this effort, I was willing to entertain another week. That was 2 weeks ago.
Today, we finally had a signing for the refi. It was not one week that was promised, but in this time of chaos with the inconvenience of the office hours vs. COVID-19, this was excusable.
Karen Gerli, the COO of the company, worked directly on my loan pushing it to the finished lane. I appreciated that, and it showed me that the company does care for its reputation.

Very bad experience. I should have paid more attention to the one star review on this company. I have an excellent credit and have enough in my liquid assets to pay off this loan. But wanting to take advantage of the low rate, I wanted to do a refi. This company talked big and promised no cost loan and looked great on paper. However, they string me along for 50 days because they could not understand how I could have 2 other income properties paid off with no loans. They want me to prove that I have no liens on these properties after I had provided all the HUD docs, deeds. They wanted nothing short of a Title Lien Search which I was not willing to pay for.
I dropped them after realizing that these people do not know how to think. It would seem that all they are interrested in are cookie cutter loans that they can crank out in numbers.
Be ware if you have something other than primary resident loan and credit score less than 800.

Unfortunately, I went against my better judgment and tried this new provider instead of our previous company based on lower cost model, with the commitment that if rates went down, we could get that benefit. Interestingly, rates are now lower than ever and we "don't qualify" for a lower rate, even with nearly perfect credit, a low balance to loan ratio, steady, verified income. Agree with others that this feels like a bait and switch.

Really appreciated working with Rick and Jessica on my home refinance. When issues arrose, they were very responsive and willing to hold up their end of the bargain. My only regret is mortgage rates just went down again the week i closed lol, but that is the the way life goes sometimes. I spent approximately 3k in closing costs, no points, 3.25% locked rate for 20yr mortgage. Home appraisal was a little pricey at nearly $500, but still worth it so long as i keep the home for the next 6 years.

We had a great experience refinancing with Interfirst - got the terms we wanted at a fraction of the cost. But it was Boris Dubinsky's attention to detail that really delivered. He knew how to best address the new requirements brought about by COVID 19. He never over promised and truly over-delivered by mapping out all of the requirements in a straight forward way. I will be recommending him from now on to anyone looking for a mortgage.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Stopped my process and will look for an another lender.

I was surprised at how quickly I was able to refinance our mortgage with Interfirst. As a real estate attorney that has been handling numerous refinances since the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, I had braced myself for a long and arduous process. I was pleasantly surprised by Interfirst's communication, responsiveness, and the quickness with which we were able to close on our loan. I had a great experience using Interfirst. While the refinance process seemed quite similar to the qualification process I went through for my original purchase, the terms were exponentially better. I even took my loan estimate to a few competitors to shop around, and most expressed concern that this would never fund as the terms seem too good to be true. Well, the loan funded yesterday, and I couldn't be happier!

I tried to get a refinance with Interfirst. They sent an appraiser out and he saw that I had modified my home to better take care of my 7 adopted special needs kids and classified it as commerical. Interfirst would not rereview my application no matter how I proved that it wasn't. Can not recommend them because of their unwillingness to review the facts.

Interfirst offered the best refinance rate we could find, and it wasn't even close. We were able to complete the entire process virtually, with the exception of the closing. For the closing, they sent someone to our home and the closing took about 45 minutes. Overall, it was a seamless experience.
