Great location and the hotel has been renovated fairly recently. The physical property itself is great. The rooms are large and well appointed. The beds are comfortable. The Gin Parlour bar is attractive and has a great selection of gins. The fitness center is fine.

However -management is rather lacking for a place that purports to be a high-end hotel chain. One night there was a movie shoot going on, and the movie people were rude didn t want to let us get out of our cab at the hotel, and yelled at us for eating some cake that was left unattended in the middle of the lobby. The night manager s response was merely Uh huh. Sorry. Next night we come back to our room to find that the door has been left propped open ALL DAY, so that anyone interested could steal our things. The night manager s response was again Uh huh. Sorry. Finally, after being told repeatedly this was absolutely unacceptable, he offered us a free breakfast for the next morning. The breakfast buffet cost $45/person, but was totally uninspiring. The applewood-smoked chicken sausage had the texture of sawdust, and the pork sausage was largely grease. Scrambled eggs were right up there with Hampton Inn. (Bacon was great, though.). They tack on a 20% gratuity even though it s a buffet.

The bathroom was redolent of mildew, and the smell could not be put down by running the shower. Fortunately it was not noticeable from the rest of the room.

When we asked for late checkout, we were told we didn t have enough IHG points to qualify.

Overall, this is an OK place to stay if you get a good price. Just keep your expectations low when it comes to service.

Inter Hotel has a tradition in all of its hotels. Rooms are of a good size. The location is clear and close to everything whether walking or taxiing.
The tip is to buy a mue of a muffin and a coffee mecca.

Perhaps it's because we were there during their soft open, but despite having just completed a 1.5 year long renovation, the hotel still needs work. Tepid showers, non - functioning elevators. Not the best start.

The security of the hotel was rudeness .My friend lived in this hotel today from California We had coffee in the lobby this afternoon 2:30PM When I used the bathroom on the 2nd Floor The short little African-American security murder told me that I could not use Bathroom. It was Private property. He will arrest
Me for trespassing OMG can't understand that the hotel's bathroom is not for consumers Is it for your security guards use only Can't believe that it happened in such a luxury Manhattan hotel. First, my friend lives in 3 rooms in this hotel. Second, we spend in the lobby coffee shop. Third, we are wearing business suits. As last,I strongly suggest that rude short security guard need retraining and The hotel management is not thinking about arrest customers.

This might be seen as a positive by some but not a single member of staff even said hello to us during our entire stay. So it felt very cold and unfriendly. On the positive though, a lovely clean hotel in a good location.

Overly soft bed, and uncomfortable pillows left me with a back ache after 2 nights. In room fridge was 98% full with honor bar items leaving literally room for a sandwich for "personal items". The property refused to apply my tax exempt status to the bogus "destination fee" that so many NYC hotels are now adding to their charges to try to game internet price comparison. Remember to add $30 a day to your price, plus taxes on top of quoted daily price.

The location was fantastic! We were able to walk to most attractions. Very close to Time Square. It is a beautiful, classic looking hotel and the staff was friendly. The downside was there is no pool and breakfast is $35 a person. It is an upscale hotel though, so that may be standard.

An attractive interior and very well located. The lobby could do with some natural light, but not much to be done about that. Otherwise it's a well run intercontinental, if a little impersonal

Be very aware of the destination fee charged at checkout. Although they do not tell you about it upon checkout. It appears on your credit card. I was told it appears on the confirmation. Unfortunately I no longer have it since my trip was complete. Unethical at the very least. Will not stay here again.

I have stayed here 5 or so times and have had pretty much the same experience.

Location: it is centrally located to shopping on Park and Madison avenues. If you like Japanese food there is a Japanese grocery and several low and high end restaurants within walking distance.

Rooms: I think the rooms were renovated about 2 years ago, and they look clean without too many scuff marks on walls, etc. There are lots of outlets which is great for business travellers with lots of devices. Rooms are nicely appointed with a dresser and small closet and safe.

Housekeeping: this is probably the weakest link. It's mostly minor details. Sometimes you have to hunt down your laundry as it's not always delivered within the promised time. We did laundry several times during our stay and used all the laundry bags and forms, which they didnt replenish. The same goes for amenities like qtipsc etc. They were never replenished. We always have 2 people in our room but they always only give us 1 robe. I think that travellers expect ameneties to be replenished when they are completely used. If you are staying at as hotel a few days. Who wants to spend that time policing housekeeping?

Staff: professional but lukewarm. Never that helpful. We reached royal ambassador status and checked in at their special area. There was no greeting, etc. The woman just handed us keys and 2 drink vouchers. There was no explanation in detail of what our benefits were other than we could use the club and eat breakfast there and that it closed at 8. (So early?) They didn't mention mini bar drinks were free (even alcohol)? I think a regular check in is the same level of low service.

Basically if IHG hotels weren't in destinations I frequent I wouldn't stay here. Sure the loyalty program is good for free night stays but they come with the torment of poor service half the time.

Beautiful building with a beautiful interior. The location pits you close to a lot of shopping as well as central park and a handful of Westside restaurants. The rooms are perfectly clean but my one compliance would be the roughness of the sheets on the bed.

I love this hotel.

I love this hotel.

Upon entering the hotel you find yourself in a beautifully elegant and well arranged lobby. Very calming and comfortable. There was a mix up with my reservation which was no fault of the hotel and Ann Mara was thankfully extremely patient and dealt with everything very graciously. My room was ready a couple of hours early which was nice.

The corridors and lifts are all stunning and have been completed to a very high standard. The room itself is beautiful and the furniture is extremely comfortable. I particularly liked the tiling in the bathroom. There are a couple of negatives which I will come to later.

The gym is large enough and has all the basic resistance and cardio machines plus free weights.

My favourite part of the hotel was the club lounge. The staff (particularly Paulette and her colleague from the Philippines whose name slips my mind - sorry) were lovely, hardworking, kind and had a real connection with the guests. The lounge's offering is really worth it's value. It is the nicest club/exec lounge I have ever had the pleasure of spending time in. The breakfast offering is great and offers perhaps the nicest bacon ever. They also have themed evenings, whilst there Paris and The Hamptons were amongst the themes.

I was allowed to check out slightly later than the hotels official time of 11am even though the hotel was full, which I was thankful for as I had a 10pm flight.

Again I love this hotel but there are a couple of downsides to mention. Firstly my room did not have a bath and as far as I am aware I wasn't in the most basic room. I am not sure how far up in categories you must go to get a bath but in a hotel like this which seems to excel in almost every other way you might expect a bath in every room. In a similar vein the hotel also lacks a pool if that is something important to you. The last slight negative was the lack of natural light in the room. While I was in New York it was 30 degrees centigrade and sunny but when in my room I had to have all the lights on, this may be another reason I spent so much time in the lounge.

Overall I had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to stay again, especially if I could find a bath :)

I wouldn't stay here again. For a 5 star hotel, this hotel has a long way to go in terms of service and attitude. Staff have to be pushed for serviced, the client relationship manager is great and she acknowledge that my concerns were valid. No complimentary bottled water in the rooms. If you use the items in the bathroom, you don't get a full replenishment like most other hotels but then luckily we managed with what we had. One of the waiters in the breakfast area stood out for me, he was like the black sheep in the family. I tipped him because he deserved it unlike most of the others. They will have to pay me to stay here again! The atmosphere is COLD!

This hotel is gorgeous. It's incredible as soon as you walk in. The staff were very efficient. They have a holding room for baggage that was really convenient, a beautiful bar, and very nice rooms. The bed was comfy and the shower was nice. We ended up with a corner room that had a really nice view. We did have some noisy neighbors in the middle of the night, but that was my only real complaint. Not something the hotel can really help. Overall great experience.

. I booked a 2 bed suite here a week in advance. I show up on saturday night to check in and she has says i booked a smaller room which wasnt able to accomodate what i needed so I ask for a manager and she goes to the back and returns nearly 10 minutes later WITHOUT a manager and realized that i did book the room i was talking about. Then i pay her cash in full for the room but for some reason charges my credit card $460 when the hold is only $100. She admits she made a mistake and i ask for a manager. Several more minutes passed before he came out and he acknowledged she was wrong. At that point we already wasted 30 minutes to check in which is unbelievable. The manager then informs me the room webare getting has one bed and a pull out sofa which is not what i was told when booking. Im furious at this point and i pull the reservation and proceed to stay elsewhere. I missed my dinner reservations and half my night was ruined because of unnecessary misshaps from an incompetent hotel staff. The next day after this i am still mad so i call the hotel back and speak with Vanessa, the assistant director. She offered to email me on my options for compensation and i never recieved an email!! So yet again i call the hotel back next day and speaknwith thebfront office director and explain what happened and she offered me a measley one night stay in their smallest 297 sq ft. Room. So for missing my dinner reservations and making me run around and find another hotel im offered nothing. It is absolutely unprecedented that an establishment such as IHG cant satisfy a guest for their own wrongdoing. There are dozens of upscale hotels in NYC theres no reason to stay here.

Hotel very well located. Overall decoration of the hotel and the tasteful rooms. Spacious, clean rooms, very comfortable and quiet bed. Breakfast very complete and quality but expensive. It is a 5 star hotel but does not give a feeling of opulence or great luxuries.

Despite being a 5 star hotel, being a large hotel the treatment is quite impersonal. We hired a late check out and confirmed it the same day just in case. Still, they called us up to 3 times to tell us we had to leave the room. Also, one day the door to the room was locked inside and it took over half an hour to send someone in and fix it. Still, we would recommend it.

The front desk acknowledged us as IHG Members and gave us a beautiful room and IHG reward points just for staying at the property. The room is elegant and up to date. There is a lobby bar and The Gin Parlour Restaurant. We had dinner at the Gin Parlour and the meal was excellent! We had the scallops which I highly recommend. Brunch at Gin Parlour is extremely expensive ($99.00 per person) so I would avoid. The area around the hotel is very quiet for NYC so any room is a gem.
