We stayed for seven days in December, here is our review:

Lobby: very nice , it's large, has nice furniture's and there was a large Christmas tree.

Straff: generally okay, concierge very helpful, but reception staff could be much better - e.g. did we book a room for 3 people, but only got a double bed.

Restaurant/bar: This is the main reason why the hotel only get 4 Stars. It was very small and a part of the lobby. Expensive and poor choise of beer (USD 10 each).

Rooms: very nice both in size and quality of furniture's. Only negative was lack of view.

Overall - we enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

The front desk staff was very friendly quite helpful, and efficient. One of the members of the front desks helped make our trip memorable and more enjoyable. We stayed for 3 days in the room was spacious as well as the best clean and large. The views are gorgeous you can see all over Midtown and to watch the snow drift from the sky is just amazing to do in such a luxurious room. Cleaning staff is helpful at all times. Their breakfast and brunch have a variety of delicious choices. This space is in the heart of the City so when you walk out you really walk into vitality of New York. Absolutely love this hotel and all it has to offer! Wish you were there right now

Incredible hotel, it is not over flashy it is just right.
The room was elegant but not over the top, the bed was so comfortable I never wanted to leave it !
The bathroom was large and well appointed with a very good shower. We stayed on the 10th floor and the room was quiet (a bit of traffic sound, but this is New York!).....
Room Service was very quick and on point, and due it being a birthday this was acknowledged and two cakes were delivered.... very nice !

The location is brilliant a few minutes from Grand Central, 10 minutes form Central Park and close to Metro Stations... Times Square is about a 10/15 minute walk crossing 5th Ave....

So a perfect hotel for getting out and about and for relaxing at night.... I will stay again without doubt !

I have no doubt that when I return to New York I will return to stay at this magnificent hotel.
Large and very comfortable rooms, quiet hotel, good service and most importantly, very good location.
Nearby is the blue subway line that runs from Harlem to Brooklyn.
Next to the central station, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Times Square.

It's in my TOP 3 of hotels!

Stay here for 2 nights and 3 days. Was a great experience.

Close to lots of tourist attractions, such as Rockefeller Building, NY Museum, Times Square and Central Park. It was all fairly walking distance to need to take cab or metro.

The room is great and the staff is friendly. The have nice and spacious lobby.

Newly renovated good location and reasonable price. I just don t like the restroom that much and the hotel and also the staff may lack some chill vibes. Still a five star for the location and spacious room.

Sorry back to four stars and the ac here is really loud... it s ac or heating?

The hotel is lovely. The rooms were clean and tidy and the service was generally very good. We had to wait a long time to check in but apart from that, I have very much enjoyed it. We even got to see some filming at the hotel (program called blind spot) so that was exciting! The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Furthermore, I never hear anything during the night so more than happy. Would be happy to return again.

This hotel is an excellent property. Our last stay in Manhattan was in the other IC, which was not good at all. Here our status was noted, room was upgraded accordingly, and everything went very smoothly. Club is good, well worth the cost.

Be noted that they will deduct an amount of 500$ for destination fees which is a requirement for all guests. I choice the hotel because the bathroom has a bidet. I would only come back for this reason, I find it ridiculous that I had to pay for bottles of water in order to use the coffee/tea machine. The location was mainly good.

A beautiful hotel to spend our honeymoon in the heart of midtown. The staff were great and the room itself wad larger than expected and beautifully decorated. A short walk from grand central or times square make it a perfect base to explore the city.

Made my honeymoon great!

Made my honeymoon great!
In those days at the UN there was an important meeting and many of the guests at the hotel were deputees coming from anywhere in the world.
That caused some troubles: we had metal detector inspection each time we had to come back at the hotel, often showing our bags and as the hotel was really busy with authorities, after 2 days they had to change our room.
Before that I complained a little for that, they gave us two days of free (and great) breakfast and a kindly offered basket of fruit in our room.
The hotel is classy, very nice. Definitely one of the best place I ever slept.

Customer service is excellent but the housekeeping is not great. There was a poop streak near the flush handle on the toilet. My TV wasn t working. I asked to switch rooms. 2nd room had a huge, dried booger/snot thing on the inside of shower curtain. Hotel is in a good location but no, won t be staying here again.

Can i just say...I love this hotel. The location is within walking distance to so many places; times square, Rockefeller center, Broadway, great restaurants, Central Station and so much more. You get your moneys worth as the hotel and rooms are fantastic! Upgrade to club room to get a hot breakfast, appetizers and drinks throughout the day (included) and other perks. I was pleased and made my stay less stressful. Staff was friendly and courteous.

When I viewed the property from street (and online), I loved it! However, the room that I got was pretty crammed up. There was hardly any space to move.

But thats not the reason why I rated it so low. At 10:30 PM on one of the days while I was at the hotel, there was a forced entry in my room. I was on phone at that time. Somebody knocked and I ignored. It was late at night - I might have as well been sleeping. And the next thing I know, my room's door opened. Fortunately I had that inside door lock on, so the door couldn't open completely. When I went out to check after like 10 seconds, no one was there. Pretty scary!

When I complained about this incident to the reception, they told me that room service was trying to come in because she was on her evening round... I have never heard that before!!

Excellent location and beautifully refurbished service is superb however little things like only putting one robe in a two person room is sloppy attention to detail, leaving the previous guests half eaten sandwich in the mini fridge same lack of attention to the details.

Spent a week in NY with family visiting from Dubai. The hotel is very clean and luxurious and the rooms were up to par and that was important for us. They sent 12 extra pillows to share between 4 of us and we appreciated that so that we can sleep properly. Only issue is the food at the main lobby restaurant was not good at all. For 2 rooms and ~5000$ you d think they d care about the food. Guess not. Also we were ONLY told about our 25$ per day free bar items after we checked out. Who the hell tells you that after you check out and goes on to tell you oh you should have read our site? For that you lose a star.

Very nice hotel. Manhattan rooms are always on the smaller side, but these were reasonable. Service was as expected. I can't comment on the value, since it was paid for by a business associate.

Hotel with good location, friendly staff, unfortunately do not respect reservations paid in advance and upon arrival assigned rooms lower than the reserved, also have the nerve to indicate that if you want to improve the room you must pay a supplement not less, also charge a tax additional daily that does not appear on the reservations website, in summary, good location, friendly treatment, unfortunately the administration's policies in relation to collections and reservations, are not honest

Fantastic stay. Overall, service, amenities, restaurant, bar, and room quality/size very good as far as NY hotels go. King room was spacious, high ceiling, clean, comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom with decent toiletries, modern shower. Overall everywhere was kept tidy and clean. The lobby was attractive and inviting; people sat to rest, chat, drink, and enjoy it. The bar/restaurant also was high quality; great service, and surprisingly great food. We tend not to eat at hotel restaurants, this was an exception. We enjoyed sitting at the bar. All staff was very professional and helpful. Clientel ranged from tourist to professionals visiting for work. Great location and good price considering all these qualities. Recommend it!

I can't really provide too much information. I arrived late and left early. The location was convenient and the room was fine. The room came with USB chargers and Wifi access. They worked well.

Arrived at hotel apparently they had no booking for us. They took the contact number and said they would get in touch with our travel company that booked with them and we were not to worry .ha how can you not worry when the hotel starts taking lots of different amounts from your credit card over the next two days after telling you they wouldn't do that. When questioned they came up with all different excuses about the different amounts. That they couldn't get in touch with our travel company either but would continue to try. Third day another amount of credit card . So called the travel company ourselves and got through no problem we were told the hotel had already been paid for our rooms and not to pay them anything else they would sort it all out . But hotel still continued to take money up to the amount of $2,500 .holiday totally ruined out of pocket twice but they couldn't care less and were doing it to another group as we were standing there .girl was in tears . Bad form. If they are you g to overlook their hotel which I'm guessing is what they do as it's a great time of year to make money then call people who are traveling thousands of mile to make them aware. We are not all mega rich and save hard to give ourselves little treats like this . Shame on you intercontinental the Barclay.i will never book with you or your brand again EVER!!! and I will advise anyone who asks to stay clear of you guys. I have never been so disgusted with anything before like this

Checked in late, so I basically just went straight to my room and went to sleep. Comfortable bed, very nice shower, great toiletries. Left my bags with the bell captain for the day after I checked out while I toured the city before my trip back. Staff was attentive and efficient.

Very good

I love Intercontinental Hotels and the Barclay in New York is a nice property in Mid-Manhattan. The check- in was great: the rooms are clean, and vintage looking. This hotel is old like the Waldorf and Marriott next door but has been maintained pretty well. My only slight issue would be how easily you can hear everything from the room next door; I ve never witnessed anything like it and I stay in a lot of hotels. For the price though you re getting a good hotel in a good location in an expensive city.

The room was great and the sheets were soft. The location is perfect for traveling downtown or to the met. It is expensive however. The UN general assembly was there while I stayed, but it didn't effect my trip.

Back from New York for 8 days, we stayed at the hotel Intercontinental Barclay ... Beautiful hotel, very well located, 10 minutes from Times Square and 3 minutes from the metro .. The room is very comfortable, worthy of a French palace. The atmosphere is cozy, a little jazzy, since every day a small orchestra comes to play some ambient music .. All the staff is extra, Mustapha and Adrian who are at the reception are super nice, friendly and available .. We take care of them and we thank them wholeheartedly. THANK YOU !!! Small downside, however, conso, breakfast, and the restaurant are overpriced ... Too bad we had to take them outside. (!!!) ..

The rooms are good, had a kind size bed, however, i would not stay at this hotel again due to the fact that the rooms are not well insulated for sound. In fact i woke up everything someone spoke in the hallway or opened or closed the door. It was very strange that that much noise leaks into the room since i have never experienced it even in cheap hotels. The management was also not very helpful when i had an issue with my reservation. Bottom line don't spend money where you can't get good sleep at night!

We had a strange experience at this hotel. We arrived at 6am and were told that check in was 4pm and that we would receive a message when our room was ready. Our reservation had been noted that we were requesting an early check in and a corner room at an upgraded fee that was based on availability. In the past, hotels that we have stayed at have prioritized check in based on arrival time, but there have been times when we have had to wait until check in time to access our room. We are IHG loyalty member and only stay in their hotels outside of our Disney time share. We explored Manhattan and by 430 we still had not heard from the hotel, but it was past check in time, so our room should have been ready, right? Apparently not. The woman at the front desk told us that 4pm is check in time but not necessarily when your room will be ready. What?! We travel frequently all over the world and my husband works at a very well known hotel casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip and has been doing so since the early 2000s. Check in time has always meant to us the time that your room is ready to be inhabited. I asked her to explain to me what check in time represented then since it didn't mean I could go to my room, and she instead started talking about how she could find a room to be ready for me. She immediately located rooms for us (my inlaws were traveling with us) and even offered to find a room extra close to the elevator to accommodate my mother in law who was using a walker. I'm not sure what inspired her cold heart to start offering to help us (she had been quite rude and aggressive until this point). Whatever she tried to do, she had to admit that she didn't actually know which room was closer to the elevator, so that didn't work out either. Why offer if you don't know? Once we finally got to our rooms, they were gorgeous! I loved everything about them, the bed and the shower especially! Too bad it was such a hassle getting the room.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental Barclay a couple months ago to go to the Thanksgiving Day Parade and I must say the property and staff were excellent. Room was spotless as well as the entire property. Everyone we had the pleasure of dealing with at the hotel gave us the attention and assistance we expected. I had the pleasure of dealing with doormen, reception, concierge, maintenance, bar staff and others and i have not one complaint. I had even had the pleasure of dealing with Gabriel Nogueira who was so kind to my wife and children as well as myself, he really deserves a special thank you. I look forward to staying at the property again in the future. Thank You. David V.
