Nice hotel in a very central location. Breakfast was expensive and eggs were awful. Coffee classic hotel muck. There's plenty of better dining options all around.

Lovely and impressive hotel. I will come back again . But not with Thomas Cook hols
The deposit of $ 500 was not returned, which was written off.
Didn t get my deposit back!
Nice location in midtown and close to midtown businesses
Rooms are very clean and people are nice.
A Upgrade room is not as good as Marriott even though for platinum members.
[Fraud Billing, TWICE!]
We checked in on September 19. We planned to stay until September 24. Unfortunately my partner had an emergency issue on September 20 and had to stay in the hospital for a few days. So I came back on September 21 and asked if we could get the refund for the last two days. You checked with your manager and told me that we would get the refund for the prepaid on September 22 and 23 two nights.
On September 22 early in the morning I came to the reception for check-out. You printed a page of bill with USD$103.5. I fortunately looked at the bill and asked what it was for. You then looked on your screen and said it was nothing and made a new bill without any charge. THIS IS THE FIRST FRAUD BILLING.
This was the week of UN assembly. Can one imagine how many people who stayed here for UN but did not read the bill when they checked out?
On September 24 my partner was lucky to leave the ICU and came back to stay at your hotel for another two days. During our stay I checked on my AMEX records and found there was indeed USD$103.5 charge and refund on the same day, September 22. What surprised me was there was ANOTHER charge of USD$26 on September 21 by you, the day we were in the ER. THIS IS THE SECOND FRAUD BILLING.
For 45 minutes, 45 MINUTES, I explained and showed the USD$26 at your reception and you kept saying you did not see any charge.
I WAS AGGRESSIVE BECAUSE YOU DID NOT DO YOUR PROFESSIONAL JOB FOR 45 MINUTES.
Finally I got my USD$26 back because you found the charge in your computer system, after my 45 minutes loss. Shame on you!
FBI SHOULD PAY ATTENTION ON THESE, AND POSSIBLY MUCH MORE NOT FOUND, FRAUD BILLING BY INTERCONTINENTAL BARCLAY!
Convenient location and good sized rooms for a Manhattan hotel, staff was kind and helpful. Room service was quick and very tasty. I was disappointed the hotel bar closed earlier than I would have liked but the drinks I did have there were very good.
Walk a few blocks from the station, but it is easy to get on any line and it's in a great location for shopping. The hotel is very expensive and you can stay in peace.
There's not a lot to say - it's all you will be looking for in such a huge metropolis like NY. Excellent staff, gorgeous location and well-cleaned rooms
Nice New York Hotel, very well placed for Grand Central and other sights. Hotel had nice luxury feel, although the bar is not as spacious as I would have liked. Breakfast was also a bit on the pricey side for an already high cost hotel.
Great hotel and often (but not always) a reasonable room rate. Quality bar with a focus on gins.
Always had a good stay until today! The concierge, Inella was very rude!!!!!!! Very distressed, always had a good experience and was taken aback after today!
Actually a nice hotel when you arrive. But then it gets worse. 3 bed room without wardrobe. And only 2 King beds are impossible for 3 adults.
Nice hotel, fancy without being fussy. The staff were nice, but a little slow.. I had to ask multiple times for things, which was annoying..
Nice rooms, good beds. A little pricey and many rooms lack a view
An elegant hotel located on Lexington, they have a grand staircase in a renovated decor reminiscent of the Gilded Age, with an awful lot of scroll work and some paintings or reproductions of various classic portraits. Gives it an air of turn of the 20th century, depending on the floor here. Service was a little rough and the way they stack the chairs in the conference was a little tight for even an airline quality for shoulder width measurements. Food was ok, though I can't tell if cats externally or if internal. Wifi was flaky depending on the room. Can hold a lot of people, though.
Very nicely sized for a new york hotel! Front desk was very kind, loved the gym
Extremely clean and top notch service. Definitely one of the best in NYC
Could be better ... In room service missed some of my food order and amenities could be better as well
Good location and the best bed that we have slept in
Elegant and refined hotel, excellent quality / price ratio
Fantastic hotel. Great location. Only a few blocks from grand central and a majority of subway and train hubs. Great lobby and spacious modern rooms especially for new york. Would stay again
Really good location in downtown New York. Within a decent walk to a lot of places. Nice rooms.
The address is 111 east 48th st, people treat you super well, and apart from that the place is well organized. Inside everything looks nice and the customer service is the best.
Friendly staff, great location, room was small but very nice.
Visited to have a drink at the Gin Parlour. Great choice of gins; at least 88 to choose from.
Nice and clean. I liked this place. The location is great as well.
Very beautiful hotel with great service, nice ballrooms.
Nice staff. Expensive breakfast buffet. Service not consistent. Bell men and concierge were fantastic. I went for a conference, I did not stay there.
Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms, very clean & comfortable, exceptional staff. An overall wonderful experience. Couldn t fault a thing. Looking forward to staying there again.
Great hotel..Staff very friendly and helpful..Just a 10 minute walk from the hustle and bustle
Well this place is definitly amazing. The atmosphere and the scenery on the inside is just breath taking. They really go above and beyond to cater to everyone inside and still maintain an aura of exceptionalism. Also the food was fantastic
Nice hotel, small room typical of Manhattan, overall nice experience
Wonderful staff, exquisite rooms and the perfect location. Enjoyed my stay here.
Comfortable rooms. Very loud street noise and loud plumbing. Ugly lobby and common spaces. Generic and corporate. $40 breakfast buffet.
What can I say, it really is a top-class hotel. Right in the heart of midtown Manhattan, it couldn't be in a better location. The rooms are incredibly well decorated, elegant and classy yet still comfortable and cosy. They have all the amenities you could ask for. The gin lounge continues their classy style and the drinks are perfectly prepared. The concierge and overall service is also of a very high standard, going above and beyond, all while being incredibly friendly and happy to help. I really struggle to find anything to complain about. The Intercontinental Barclay is of a very high standard and I'm incredibly happy with my entire stay.
Horrible handling of issues and miss passed information. Don t stay here if you re with family. Argumentative and wasted money.
Incredible. We stayed here for our wedding and the staff went the extra mile to make sure that we were accommodated. I would recommend staying here to anyone!
Beautiful cloud like bed, clean, comfortable room
Very expensive bar
Needs refurbishment desperately.
Definately not same standard as london O2 hotel!!
Didn't stay but outside staff was very helpful with directions
Stayed at the hotel for one night for a bachelorette party. We requested rooms either next to or across from each other, but when we arrived we were placed on separate floors. We were extremely disappointed that the hotel could not accommodate our request even when we booked well in advance and where told we could be next to each other.
Good location, neighbor to key sites in NYC.
A must stay option.
Very nice hotel in the heart of downtown Manhattan. Very courteous and helpful staff. Rooms are well equipped with good facilities.
The rooms were nice and housekeeping did a good job. We requested early check in and it took them 2 hours to finish cleaning the room so we didn't even end up getting in early. Bar is expensive, but it is NYC so you pay more for drinks. Noisy neighbors and not very accommodating for a sister's weekend trip celebrating my sisters birthday. Close to some good eats so that was nice and bellmen were all great and friendly.
We stayed at the InterContinental New York Barclay from December 30 to January 11 2019. It was my sister and I's first trip to New York ever and the hotel became our home for the time we were there.
Arrival
The service on arrival was faultless. We were greeted, welcomed and checked in within minutes and the person behind the counter was an absolute pleasure to deal with. They even upgraded us to larger suite, something we were truly grateful for.
The Room
Upon entering the room, we were met with what I can only describe as pure immaculate opulence. The room was perfect. Two massive beds with crisp white sheets, large desk, television (which we never watched), huge bathroom and, of course, a coffee machine! We were excited about what our stay here was going to be like, let alone our time in NYC.
During Our Stay
We ate at the hotel restaurant on the first night. Food was delicious. I had my very first NY Pretzel! Cocktails were also fantastic! Throughout our stay, our room came to be our refuge from the busyness that is New York. We were out every single day and night, exploring everything New York had to offer, and coming back to a clean room with our beds made really helped bring a sense of calm and normalcy. The service during our stay was absolutely perfect.
Departure
After what we would consider a "long stay" in NYC, we were excited to be finally going home. Bags packed, elevator down and straight to reception, we were greeted once again. Within 60 secs we were checked out, thanked and a cab organised for our journey to the airport. Truly exceptional service!
Last Words
I think I've said it all. In all, we experienced outstanding and super-friendly customer service that really helped make a difference. Smiles and greets whenever we arrived back after a long day exploring and an immaculate room whenever we entered. If you're looking for a real home-away-from-home, I would highly recommend a stay at the InterContinental New York Barclay. You won't be disappointed! I know I will be back again should ever I visit the "city the never sleeps" again. #happytravels #siblingsabroad
Lovely hotel, lovely rooms, excellent location and a great gin bar..would definitely return here when back in New York
Location is excellent, just a minute from 5th Ave and a few blocks from the Plaza/Central Park.
Staff was amazing, including the front office (Anna) and the General Manager (Sofia) who were extremely attentive and very warm.
I had a little issue with some fees, but they were immediately available to attempt to solve it.
Would stay here again without a doubt!
Amazing location, amazing staff, couldn't ask for anymore!
