Great hotel. I stay in lots of IHG hotels and this is to the Intercontinental brand standard. Pools, beachfront, food, staff, great gym. Close to lots of local shops and restaurants.

One challenge: why does the turndown service only show up every second night?!

Very expensive for what you get. Half of the rooms are looking on a dull street with offices and construction workers. The ones facing the inner court are not better off as the pool and its surroundings look drab. Also, St Julian's is a crowded place to get in and out to, so take your time to travel to the city center or the airport. The rooms are ok and clean but the decoration looks of low quality and taste.

Only here for one night, so all our time was spent on on level 19, Skybeach. Amazing infinity pool with great cocktails. We did not book a space before hand, but the staff were more than happy to accommodate us, and actually moved us to a spot right next to the pool when it became available! I would recommend booking beforehand if you can!

Room was also upgraded to a recently updated club room on the 14th floor which included a nice balcony. TV did seem a little out of place in the room (old 28" Phillips model) possibly not updated at the same time as the room?! Also tea and coffee facilities were missing? Both however are minor points, and would recommend staying here

Great facilities and great location. If you're looking for a good-priced hotel with great facilities in the heart of the entertainment, you're right here. People that are allergic for noise, better book another hotel, as it's quite noisy here, inside and outside the hotel. Rooms are a bit outdated.

In general I enjoyed my stay here and I would like to compliment the staff. They are friendly and professional.

This is the central party location in Malta for lower class / people on welfare from the UK. Every night (and especially on Sunday after a game ) the streets are full of drunken British , singing and chanting football songs. We couldn't sleep for 3 nights , even though we were on the 11th floor !!! The noise somehow ricochetes off the street and you hear everything. Oddly enough you wont see these people anywhere else but here and in the Blue lagoon. The Intercontinental staff cant do anything about the noise complaints and neither can the police. I suppose nobody will refuse tourists' money.

One day some guy was "burning rubber " on the small street in front of the hotel , slid about with his BMW and almost crashed. Nobody noted his plate number or did anything.

There are 3 strip clubs in that area and plenty of bars if that's what you're looking for. All of them look very low class /shady, except for Hugo's.

The hotel has access to a "beach" , which is next to a crossroad/roundabout, so dont expect to relax there.

If you are planning a relaxing / romantic/ family /couple type of holiday do not book Intercontinental . It would be the biggest mistake you could make. Try Gozo and the northern part of Malta for such vacations. Much cheaper and for the money , you're going to save ( Intercontinental is 5 stars , so a bit more expensive than other hotels ) take a rental car for 20 25 euro/day.
Public transport in Malta during the season is a joke and you will need 40 minutes from St Julian to the ferry station for Valetta.
The area around the hotel is well connected in terms of bus lines, but dont expect comfort.
On the plus side their gym is great and they offer good breakfast.

All in all a good hotel located in a terrible location, which forced us to check out prematurely and seek refuge on the northern part of the isle.

Very disappointing ... The hotel with a good name made me very disappointed. The entire building seems very old. The two rooms I saw were damp, mold visible in some areas and with a very unpleasant, musty smell. In addition, the cleanliness of the room was not acceptable (stains on the bed and on the upholstery, hair in the bathroom, etc). I checked out early after one night and stayed in another hotel.

FAO The Manager,

FAO The Manager,

Dear Sir, my friend and I spent some time recently, 24th -28th May at your St Julien's Hotel. The service was excellent and I was quite touched when your reception staff noted from my passport I had just celebrated my 80th birthday. I was delighted to receive a short while later a bottle of champagne and chocolates, a lovely touch.

Thank you for an outstanding stay, warm regards, Alan Storer

A total shame, unfortunately the room was extremely dirty with the bathroom smelling of "dirty public toilets"
I was there during a conference, it was very crowded but I don't think this justify this level of disservice

Outstanding service.

Outstanding service.
All the hotel staff are very kind and nice.
As an ultra-Orthodox girl we have a lot of restrictions they were just fine and tried to help as much as they could. Every request is answered in the affirmative and with a lot of patience for all our requests. Highly recommended!
And very close to the Chabad house.

We have had conferences there and was well organized. Could be more coffee machines, water machines, or at least some hostesses to provide that kind of things. I also tried gym which is good because its nice. But pool was dirty and wouldn't go in.
