I was there only for dinner.the hotel on the mountain with a great view of mountains,the restaurant was beautiful and clean.the staff were so friendly and helpful...we had a lovely evening and complement to the chef
Hotel great. Guest cards were fully billed but not handed over. When we paid, we made a donation. Breakfast very tasty, but completely disorganized. You sometimes wait 20 minutes for a coffee. The coffee didn't come on the last day.
Very nice house. nice people but if it's a special request outside the norm, it is usually doomed to failure.
Very nice hotel, nice rooms, fantastic location. Very nice bar with a huge selection of whiskey and gin. Very friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast is great and a huge selection. The ambience in the restaurant and breakfast room Johann Grill is very nice. The dinner as well. In the fine dining Le Ciel a bit cool ambience, you could make something cozy. But the menu, a dream. Rarely eaten so well. Really stunning. The selection of wines is good and the prices are fair. The wellness area is also good. Outdoor and indoor pool, two saunas, 90 C and 65 C herbal sauna. Although I have not seen or smelled a single herb in her ..... ;-) very nice steam room. Unfortunately, in the wellness area is not so much emphasis on sustainability, here there are no returnable cups. Otherwise, a top hotel, definitely recommendable.

The hotel is great. The rooms very nice and the food very good! The lobby with open fireplace is super comfortable. The spa I felt however a bit too small. Definitely recommended. Also a nice starting point for walks and hikes.
The hotel has its wow factor! The location, the view, the building amazing! The pool is smaller than pictures but it s still nice pool! The breakfast location, view, quality of food, and staffs are just top notch. Why 3 stars? The rest isn t. We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant, waited by the door and nobody helped us and ignored us basically. Went to the lobby bar and perhaps they have snacks, they ignored us again! So we ended up with room service menu which is okay. Such a pity that our positivity during check in, pool was ruined during dinner time.
The evaluation is very difficult for me: I would like to give only three stars, since we already complained about something after half the stay, which did not change in the next four days, the reaction of the management took place only one day after our departure. BUT: The hotel is great, it has only a few weaknesses, which in my opinion. are due to poor leadership / organization.
From the first moment we liked the Kempinski Berchtesgaden extremely well. We appreciated the warm atmosphere, the modern but very cozy facility around the Alpine theme, the extremely warm service of the employees. The spa was not as good as expected, the warm outdoor pool too cool for winter.
Above all, we noticed on all three visits to the spa that there was no adequate cleaning up and checking. The loungers in the pool and sauna area were very rarely refreshed; you do not know whether they are occupied by someone or whether the guests have already moved on. The tea in the saunas was not refilled early. In addition, when you left the spa, one of the containers for used towels overflowed.
Even at breakfast it takes a strikingly long time to refill dishes, at times it looked very empty in places. We know this differently from other 5-star hotels and simply does not meet this standard.
A personal letter and a business card was in the room from the management upon arrival, so that we interpreted this gesture as an invitation to report back during the stay if something was wrong. I am reluctant to give such feedback, but it was necessary here! So I wrote an e-mail on the 4th day, to which there was no response.
As luck would have it, I got a call from Guest Relations while writing this e-mail asking if everything was okay with our stay. I mentioned the points mentioned to the lady, she promised improvement. Until our departure three days later, the situation only got worse (it was a weekend with more guests).
On departure I raised the issue again, there was minimal (very cheap for the hotel) compensation. The management's response to my email came a day later with the excuse that there was a "bug in the out-of-office". They regretted the circumstances, apologized and said that the colleagues had already been informed. Oh well.
Conclusion: the hotel was not at a 5-star level. Parts easily met the standard, but unfortunately not others. We would love to come back, but not when things get so chaotic in the spa and at the breakfast buffet.

I have chosen this hotel because of its worldwide reputation and yes, I have made the right decision.
Arrived here around 9-10pm on 17-Sep-2018 and let the bell boy handle the car and the luggage, I did the check in process and because I only stay for 1-night the reception guy asked me what was my plan so he could recommend something. After I explained that I was interested to visit Eagle's Nest, he recommends me to take the first bus on 7:40am to avoid long queue and crowded. I followed his advice and he also gave me the little map how to get to the bus station to Eagle's Nest. They are very helpful and informative.
About the hotel itself, the buildings, rooms, amenities, breakfast, the workers, I couldn't find anything better than this. Simply perfect! If you're a perfectionist and would like to enjoy Berchtesgaden, I would recommend you this hotel. For sure, I will come back to this hotel again in future. Thank you Kempinski Berchtesgaden for showing me what a 5-star hotel should be. Also, thanks for the gift when I check out - a kind receptionist gave me a small bottle of jam, she said it was a homemade production and specially made for Kempinski. I like it.
Oh, one thing, while waiting in the lobby for other guy to pick up my car, I smoked cigarettes and may be because it was cool weather the cigarette taste much better. Then I saw the bell boy, I asked him if he smoke cigarettes and he said yes. I gave him my cigarettes - "Here's one of the best Indonesian cigarettes if you would like to try" - he replied politely, "Thank you sir but I'm not allowed to smoke during my duty time. I will keep this and will enjoy this after my duty time. Thanks again.". I was impressed by this - even the bell boy showed me a highest level of professional attitude.
Great hotel, the rooms are very quiet and the staff is very attentive.
It is a wonderful place for all the places, the beauty, the beauty and the tranquility. I wish the honeymoon will be returned . The only disappointment is that the supermarket and the reserve stuff are far from us. Shui means all under the mountain. By land and back to the hotel, God bless everyone

A really extraordinary hotel. Great location directly on the Obersalzberg with a view of the Berchtesgaden Alps. Modern and elegant furnishings. Very friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast a bit different due to Corona, but still great. Spa area invites you to relax. The fireplace bar offers a nice atmosphere. We will be back!

Great hotel with a fantastic view and very nice staff
After a first somewhat mixed experience in summer 2017, due to the great location of the hotel, we decided to give the Kempinski Berchtesgaden a second chance. In cold temperatures and surrounded by a meter of snow, we have not regretted this decision and are very pleased that all the points complained about have been taken seriously and that we have worked on them.
The location is perfectly quiet surrounded by woods. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and professional without being intrusive. The pool and spa are very relaxing, the rooms are lovingly furnished and the breakfast is a real treat.
In the meantime there have been other regular visits and the good impression has solidified more and more. There are few hotels where I just feel good and this is definitely one of them.
In addition, it must be said that the hotel is very child-friendly and that your stay is made as pleasant as possible.
Finally, I would particularly like to mention the flexibility in diet. My wife is vegan and if the hotel knows, an alternative breakfast menu is offered and this is also taken into account in the Johann Grill. Simply fantastic
Activities:
The Activity Concierge will help you plan excursions and mountain bikes can be rented directly from the hotel in mid-October. This is very practical as the local landlord in Berchtesgaden ends the season quite early.

We were here over New Years Eve 2018/2019.
The hotel is modern from the outside but still fits into the region.
The reception area is large and very nicely decorated.
The ladies at the registration desk were very nice and took care of everything - The Lady in Red as well !!!!
The room was gorgeous with a fireplace and a view of the mountains.
The breakfast buffet is very rich and there is something for everyone, from bread / rolls to veal sausage with pretzel to fish and fruit as well as various cereals and sweets.
The New Year's Eve was fantastic with champagne at the reception and a "kitchen party" afterwards. Kudos to everyone who helped there, it was just great. The food was great - oysters, sushi, steak, truffle risotto, Wagyu burger and much more! The fireworks and the party afterwards were also great!
The spa area offers a lot of space and loungers. There is a sauna, steam band and herbal sauna.
This hotel is definitely worth a visit and we will be back !!!!

We booked the hotel over the weekend and paid 100%. We have been to the hotel several times, but this weekend both have become very ill (medical reports) and another serious illness in the family. Hotel has given notice that we can not come, but we have kept our payment to 100%! We would have been able to pay certain%, but not 100%, as breakfast etc. were never used. This hotel is for us, although we were there more often !!!

Overall good location is good, but the most important thing is that the black-haired Chinese are occasionally a bit disdain. Especially when there are many Asian tour groups, there is no restaurant around. There is only one restaurant. No choice.

The hotel is beautifully located on Obersalzberg and offers every luxury. After arriving, we had the problem that the spa closed earlier than what was indicated on the website, which we had relied on. The hotel management compensated for the problem in a pleasant and elegant way. Very good service in the other areas too. An excellent hotel!
A really great hotel. I spent one night here on a business trip and was able to relax very well in the short time anyway. The rooms are decorated with great attention to detail and at least mine had a phenomenal view from the balcony. The SPA area is big and very relaxed. The best part was the delicious breakfast with its own barista for the fresh coffee.
This is my personal dream hotel!

Wonderful hotel high up in the mountains. Great views across the valley and a fantastic spa with an indoor/outdoor heated pool, sauna etc. Very relaxing.
Service in the bar and at the front desk was very, very good, as were the concierge team. The service for Christmas Eve dinner in Johann Grill was quite slow however, two and a half hours for the first three of five courses.
Also, room service was a bit hit and miss: turn-down service was offered each night around 6pm, when everyone is in their rooms getting ready for dinner. Why not wait till 7-7:30pm when everyone is at dinner so the rooms are clear?
The rooms themselves are great: very comfortable bed, and the bathroom has a heated floor so you're never cold walking on the tiles.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year.

Particularly impressive was the large selection at the breakfast buffet. We sat for hours on the terrace and enjoyed the restful and quiet atmosphere.
The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The rooms were quite comfortable and clean. However, as a tip, if someone still wants to book: The rooms on the east side have the much nicer view.

It is always a pleasure to enjoy his little break! The waiters are very friendly and always tried hard to fulfill all wishes. Coffee, tea, small dishes, cakes, wine, other Alkoholica ... we did not miss anything! On cold days, or in winter, the fireplace is still heated ... wonderful atmosphere!
