My favorite hotel in NYC. Items pet friendly too. The restaurant at the hotel is very good and there is a rooftop bar with amazing views.
Very nice hotel and well located on the island of Manhattan, close to the subway and downtown, allowing you to walk to major NY attractions. The price is fair for what it offers. Good restaurant, bar and breakfast you can choose from in the hotel or in the nearby area.
Just a visit to Ink48 but the restaurant at the top. We did not stay here. It was January and they still opened it up just enough so you could experience the amazing views.
Loved it $38 for a margherita and a beer was a bit steep though.
The Press Lounge is pretty great with panoramic views of the sky line.
Staff is amazing. Rooms were very clean and modern. It was my husband's birthday and they had a bottle of champagne in our room. We absolutely loved it and will back soon.
Expensive choice for drinks, but the views from the top floor roof terrace are totally worth it.
Excellent staff. Clean. Excellent location. The restaurant attached and rooftop bar are also excellent.
Drinks were overpriced. Their cost covers the view and seating. Great to drain money from your tourist friends who freeloaded on your couch for one too many nights.
Great food at the reataurant; laid back atmosphere lounge with lots of yuppies.
Kelsey is the star. Upon entry, I was greeted with a smile and lovely conversation. The rooms are very spacious for NYC and the view is amazing. More to come...
Awesome pet friendly hotel ..sizable clean rooms. Walking distance to Hudson yards an many other spots
On June 19th I was on New York for a Business Trip. On my way back to the place were I was staying with my friends, we entered the Hotel lobby asking for help because we were being harassed by a group of strangers that had been following us for a couple of blocks. We asked the receptionist to please call a Cab or the Police and suddenly one of the door mans replied THAT I WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM, AND THEY WOULD ONLY DO THIS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. We asked for a SERVICE THAT BY LAW SHOULD NOT BE REFUSED TO ANY ONE.
We were so scared of going out into the street again, that I pulled out my credit card and asked the receptionist to charge me for a room, but she refused to take my credit card on the basis "that we looked like we couldn't afford a room". Right after a doorman approached me and started pulling me towards the exit as he yelled GET OUT!
After 3 to 5 minutes the receptionist agreed on calling the police, not to help us but rather as threat to kick us out. One of the door mans grabbed me by the throat, slammed my face to the floor and forcefully grounding my body and face to the floor. He choked me so hard that my throat-uvula became swollen for hours. Couple minutes later the policed arrived and we were apprehended because we were considered a threat, minutes later they realized we were no threat and advised us to just leave and figure out how to solve this through lawful means.
I'm a restaurant owner and I am completely aware of the hospitality community guidelines that we should abide to as service providers. Especially in the hotel business were people with different racial and cultural backgrounds, employees should be able to manage professionally without any sort of prejudice.
Good views from rooftop bar, not much choice in terms of snacks
The alcohol is expensive but a really nice view which was great while my friend went to the intrepid.
I was there recently for a company social event at the rooftop bar. The decor is modern and the views are beautiful. The bartenders were attentive and the drinks were well-made and not weak. Aside from the bar area, there is an enclosed outdoor area as well as a full outdoor area. The various appetizers were all delicious, but the buffet-style pasta and bread were disappointing. Overall, it's a great space and I would go back again.
Very chic, and clean space. Slept well.
The hotel is far to get to, but worth it.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. I had the junior suite and it was grand. Room had a yoga mat and umbrella for my use, and the hotel had bikes you could borrow. The rooftop bar has a great view
Went for the rooftop bar. Overpriced drinks cater to a tourist filled crowd. All views filled with parking lots. Meh
Very nice hotel really well located. On the other hand very noisy (the night). Very nice staff. 4 nights here and without the noise it would have been perfect.
Dress code enforced and the drinks were more expensive than midtown. Wasn't a fan for the price, but it's a fine place.
We chose Ink48 for my girlfriend's birthday, and the night ended awfully for everyone in our party. Please note that, as patrons, we did not anticipate the improper treatment we received yesterday as we were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. As a couples dinner, we read great reviews online about your establishment, and spent a lot of money while dining at Print restaurant and at the Press Lounge. As we finished our evening, we were requesting to use the bathroom before we departed. We inquired with the Front Desk, and were rudely treated by the staff.
When we asked to use the bathroom on the first floor, and we were told by the "lead manager" that the establishment is not a "public bathroom" and to "use our common sense." My friend questioned him on his behavior, and informed him that we were finishing our night and just needed to use the restroom before we left the establishment. In a very rude, displeasing tone he loudly stated that we "should use our common sense". We asked for his manager but instead of handling the situation professionally and with courtesy, he went onto threatening to call the police on my friend, and on all of us, and called the bouncers from the Press Lounge.
He appeared to be of asian descent wearing a nametag of "Joseph Marotta." This event occurred on the morning of June 28th around 2:30AM. Because it was my girlfriend's birthday, we decided to not further ruin our night and walk away even though we truly felt disgusted by this 'Joseph Moretta' named individual's behavior. Please do go ahead if you wish and review the surveillance videos to confirm these events.
If patrons/customers are subjected to such underhanded behavior by the Front Desk of a New York City hotel, what type of message is being conveyed? Apparently this individual and other members of the front desk is not psychologically competent enough nor educated enough in the area of customer service to treat customers. Customers are the key to a business' success. We were celebrating a birthday, having a great time, and ended the evening with cynicism and threats by this individual.
I would like his supervisor to contact me on this matter as i will be taking it to every source i can to show how awfully we were treated. Hiring this individual might not be Ink 48's fault, but keeping him will certainly cost them as i can only imagine how he is treating/will be treating many other customers who will never return to Ink48, and/or who will negatively impact Ink48's reputation. I can be reached by phone or email, as this was truly the worst way to end a birthday celebration at a reviewed establishment. Regards,
Bert Kaleli
Rooms are good, service is good. In room dining is less than ideal and I think it's interesting that I had an ice bucket in my room but no ice machine anywhere to be found on my floor.
INK48 is phenomenal in so many ways!!! I have stayed at numerous hotels around the city. Ranging from The Plaza to the Hilton. Ink48 surpassed my expectation!! Our room was big for the city. It had high ceilings, very spacious! My wife is super picky with cleanliness. She was taken back by how spotless the room was every time we came back. My wife also raved about her spa day. All staff was quick, attentive and super friendly, from valet to front desk along with room service and restaurant/bar service. Everyone here is willing to help. You can really tell the management is great here. Everything is on point!! One of my favorite things about the hotel was the impeccable rooftop bar. So much lounge space. Super hip and trendy. The only turn off I had was a guy I heard complaining to management about the construction noise. GROW UP!! It s out of their control! And plus they warned everyone about it prior to checking in! It s NOT the hotels fault that the economy is prospering and construction is blooming!!!! I want to applaud management. Nick I. did a great job talking to the guests. Very calm, cool and collective guy. If it were me I wouldn t have been so nice. Beautiful, cool, trendy, modern hotel. I will definitely come back to visit.
Quiet hotel with beautiful views. Room is clean, service is prompt. Wish it were a little closer to the subway.
Room size was great..view was awesome.. didn't care much for the pet hair all over the floor..the fact there was no lock on the bathroom door..and lack of a working freezer.. otherwise the workers were all great and helpful.
Good service. Very accomodating. Should give complimentary wifi without having to sign up for a credit card account
Went to Print. For dinner! It was outstanding! Espresso martinis are an absolute must
Beautiful space. Great personnel. Awesome drinks at the bar.
This property is absolutely gorgeous, so it's unfortunate for me to have to leave such a bad review, but the poor service outweighed all of my positive experiences. For over $1,000 for two nights, the customer service should be nothing less than A+. Some of the staff did go above and beyond - particularly one concierge, and all of the wait staff - but the majority were rude and unpleasant (even by New York standards). Check-in was a disaster, and the concierge staff seem unwilling to answer any questions or lend a hand in any way whatsoever. When I asked questions regarding my invoice, I was made to feel as if they couldn't be bothered, and had better things to do. When we tried to go to the rooftop for a drink, were told rudely "no entrance with a hat on". My breakfast order came with food errors. When I asked for help finding a taxi, I was told to just wait outside in the rain. And after being confirmed for a late check-out, the cleaning staff entered my room while I was showering. This many service errors over the course of two days is simply unacceptable. When identifying these problems, the staff are combative, versus offering an apology or some form of compensation. Such a nice hotel, what a shame.
Ate at Print on the ground floor. Most of the food was very good and service was OK as well. Will go back.
Our room was very spacious and consistently clean. The hotel had exceptionally efficient service and were very accommodating. The only negative was the construction from across the street that woke us up in the morning; but the staff at the hotel let us know about this as we were checking in - it was completely out of their control but I am glad that they warned us. The staff made up for it in kindness, professionalism and understanding!
The rooftop is GORGEOUS and the staff that worked there were very friendly.
Here is where it began, and here is where it shall end. It was quite nice.
I don't think we could ever stay anywhere else after the wonderful experience at ink48. They were kind and gracious, the food and bar amazing and the rooms large and comfy. We were travelling with 2 dogs (one over 100 lbs)and they were amazing accommodating them. A great location and hotel.
Great place to stay!!! Awesome bar and menu is superb with a healthy selection.
I am a big fan of the Kimpton Hotels in general, parents stayed here when visiting. Had a great time at the restaurant. Staff was very polite and helped find the brands of the tea they served. Love the Boutique styling here and at the Eventi.
Good hotel with roof top club. But not happy with service for the price they charge for the room and restaurant.
This used to be an old Print Factory, pretty cool also try the restaurant.
This Kimpton is clean and well appointed. However, we did not have any luck with having the front desk/management repair the air conditioning in our room. It was very warm during the whole stay even though we reported the issue on the first evening (out of 3 night stay). We had also read reviews about the construction noise and asked travel concierge to call ahead and help us get our two rooms away from that side of the building. Our rooms were directly over the construction (view and constant jack-hammering).
They are just beginning the construction site, and they have a LONG way to go, despite what Mgmt says!
The rooftop is very nice. Bath soaps and supplies are good quality. Housekeeping is excellent. Location is not convenient to Metro or landmarks, but Ubers and taxis are easy to access. Print restaurant located in lobby has great coffee and food. There is no coffee in the rooms and regular size water is $9! Mini water is $6. Bring your own bottles filtered water on 2nd floor /gym area. Coffee available in morning in the lobby and happy hour in lounge (wine was undrinkable!) Sign up for Kimpton rewards for free WiFi. Last, but not least, the hotel charges an additional amenity fee per night, that was not clearly mentioned ahead of time.
Great views of the Hudson and Mahattan. In the press lounge with children between 17 and 18 o'clock possible.
Rooftop views were awesome. Drinks overrated though you go for the view.
Happy hours on wine from 5-6 ( atleast when I was there) and a beautiful roof top bar which serves amazing cocktails
Bar area can get crowded at dinner time but the beer selection was short but good.
Ate at Print. The food was pretty good but the staff wasn't very friendly and the area we ate at was very, very cold.
Ink48 was a great little hotel -- we were most impressed by the service. Our room was small but the bed was comfy. The hotel was away from the loud bustle of Times Square - recommended if you can find it for a good price and don't mind a bit of a walk or taxi to get to the sights.
Nice rooms, amazing and delicious in dinning room food.
Mid Town sanctuary. We were there for a wedding. The 17th floor suites were incredible. The restaurant is also top notch.
Normally it's 5 stars based on the last several years however there are some macro environmental conditions that make it less desirable from a current events perspective. Along two sides of the hotel the adjacent lots are under major construction. The rat tat tat starts promptly at 7 am. The windows in this hotel never were designed to handle this amount of commotion in stereo no less.
Staff is always friendly and the rooftop bar is a destination in it of itself.
Once they are done dredging Manhattan rock , cranes and normal hammers will make it much more a tolerable construction adjacent zone. Hotel rates here tend to reflect this reality. Bring a bluetooth boombox to drown out the noise. At least the construction crews stop every night around 4:30 pm
There are to many better hotels at this rate to give it more than two stars. The rooms have come to age. The windows were very dirty. The best is the bar with a view from the top of the roof.
The room was wonderful. The employees were very friendly. The coffee service was a little late. Staffing was light in the morning so coffee wasn't available until 7AM.
Amazing views from the rooftop bar but cocktails were on the expensive side.
Beautiful New York hotel rooftop bar in the heart of Hell's Kitchen - Ink48 is a Kempton Hotel with nice boutique hotel accommodations - exceeded expectations during our stay.
The best place for a nice views Midtown Manhattan. Okay the cocktail at $20.00 is ridiculous ( not the best one ) but the view is just amazing
Beautiful hotel. Lovely staff. Fantastic conference space.
First time in NYC. Hotel situated about a 10 minute walk to Times Square. Rooms are comfortable and modern with everything you need even a bathrobe. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Fun place for rooftop drinks with great views. Attended a private event here and the space was nowhere near big enough to accommodate the group comfortably. Would be very enjoyable if it was so crowded ~ the line to get food was 45 minutes long and the wait for drinks was 30.
Went to the rooftop bar. Has a really nice view in all directions. Heat lamps for the winter.
Nice location
Rooftop has amazing views
Great rooftop view, most drinks were around $20. I believe a coors light was around $14.
Aperitif on the rooftop with very expensive prices but the view deserves
Beautiful hotel ! Professional staff A little pricey but it's worth it. The rooftop is definitely a must go with a view of the skyline on one side and the river and the other. Located close to hell's kitchen it's very accessible
Nice view of NYC skyline. Courteous and professional staff.
I really cannot understand how this place is rated 4 stars. The front desk staff has the worst attitude and so is so unhelpful and not willing to do anything to help customers. Both my friend and I had issues checking in and they could care less, Gabe us attitudes and one of the guys even rolled his eyes at me. The beds feel like cheap motel beds, definitely not luxurious like most Kimpton hotels...but the worst thing is the noise. I was on the 12th floor and could hear all of the construction (which starts around 6-630am) and all of the police cars, honking and ambulances. It sounded as if I was on the ground floor. They invested into beautiful windows but clearly didn't invest in soundproofing. This is a 2 star hotel. Save your money (and it's a lot) and go somewhere else. They should be ashamed of themselves.
The Staff, locale , design , scope are amazing assets. Their team have a mastery of hospitality other hotels should approach.
It has the best rooftop bar and the view is amazing.
We stayed at this room for one night. It was beautiful, clean, bathroom is so modern and the shower was my favorite. The whole room has a clean, modern, sleek feel to it which I love. The view in the bathroom was also amazing. The black out curtains in white are perfect if you want to sleep in without the light coming in. We stayed on the 15th floor and we were greeted by a very friendly man who gave us suggestions for food. The AC work great so the temp in the room is perfect. I would def stay here again.
Fabulous! Anthony at the desk gave a high floor room with great views! Room was clean bed was very comfortable. Price was affordable and well worth it. Gave me a courtesy 1pm checkout which was needed because my girl and I were recovering from a night of partying. At 4am we were awakened to the fact that the air-conditioning was blowing hot air. Called the lobby and in 5 minutes the guy was there and he fixed the problem. Everyone greeted me with good morning and made eye contact. I was very impressed with their training in customer service. I'm old school and big tipper when it comes to that stuff... They all deserved it. The manager is on point... Here's my only suggestion although it might be a tough one to figure out... My girl is 20 and she got carded so she wasn't supposed to get in to the press rooftop bar( I figured she wouldn't get carded cause she's with me a much older guy but they (security) weren't having it). So Since money talks and promises not to drink we went up and hung out for a while watched the sunset and enjoyed the romantic moments of it all. Hotel should arrange to have underage guests let in from 6 to? or just after sunset with a wristband or something else with a 25 dollar cover for underage... I happily paid 100. The rooftop bar should be enjoyed by everyone. The cost of admission was worth it, because it made her so happy and I love to make her happy. So we watched the sunset and the lights come on around the city and drank virgin drinks as promised.
Later we went to dinner and had a great time... Came back to the hotel and she told me You are the man and your awesome... Just what men want to hear from beautiful young women.... This hotel with great ambiance and excellent customer service deserves the 5 stars.
The view is breathtaking! Service is excellent and the environment is perfect for a night out! This is one of the best places I have been to in New York!
