The place is as nice as you could want however the parking is horrible!!!! They actually have no parking available and you have to park on a city street and walk to the hotel. It took us 3 hours to find a place 2 blocks away and IF you book with them, forget canceling and getting your money back!!! It's not a place for people who have leg/hip problems!!!!

I actually never interacted with any staff there (I got there at 6PM and left at 7:30AM) which is fine but there wasn't a heads up on the after hour check in process.
The room was nicely presented and smelled good, however the hottub was disgusting. It looked and smelled like it was never cleaned. There was literally cultures of unidentifiable green and black growing on the sides. After a day of hiking, a hot tub was a major factor in booking.
Additionally, the parking was disappointing - the place discloses that parking is offsites and they will provide a permit however, they don't disclose the fact parking is a bit free for all and you have to find a spot first.
For the price paid, I would definitely pick more traditional hotel comparable in price or even spend a little less (since the hot tub/parking essentially wasn't included in the price).
Great location right in downtown Aspen. You are literally right on top of the nicest boutiques and restaurants. Rooms were small but nicely appointed. Only disadvantage: I have to subtract one star for complete lack of parking. You have to find on-street parking which is not particularly easy. You have to find certain zones away from downtown which allow overnight parking.
The heat was broken on the entire third floor including my room and they did not let any guests know before hand - it was 14*C all night in my room and I had to turn the shower on to heat the room.
Further, the in room clock alarm went off at 12am because house keeping does not check that which sounded like a fire alarm.
The rooms are extremely noisy as they face a bar/bus depot and you can heat everything and everyone talking below.
Also the room is very small and dated / had 2 light bulbs burnt out / felt dingy.
The hotel would not offer ANY reimbursement or even an apology for the heat being off and all the guests on the 3rd floor freezing and actually thought it was funny - not what I would expect for 450+ a night.
The hotel is next to the free shuttle stop. The room is clean and high. The sad thing is the hot tub was under construction when we were there. Lesley, a stuff, is very helpful and friendly.
If you want a stylish, quaint, centrally located hotel the Independence square Hotel is great. They had nice rooms, a nice breakfast and helpful staff. Probably not ideal for elderly, handicap, or people with lots of luggage as there is street parking that requires walking and stairs to navigate to get to lobby and elevator. The rooftop hot-tub and deck was awesome for enjoying sunset with our kids.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, but broken keys (one of four which were for my room worked). But the room was amazing. No views, but a massive modern TV, with cable and fast internet. Included breakfast was a nice addition.
Very close to the bus station to head to any of the mountains, and only a short walk to Aspen Mountain itself.
Got to stay here last winter for a quick ski trip. The rooms are spacious and the location can't be beat! The hotel is right in the downtown core. The staff was pleasant and the breakfast was more than adequate. Look forward to coming for a longer stay this coming spring!
Thankyou lesley and Staff had a great stay Motel was conveniently located in the heart of Aspen, so easy to get around Room was very spacious and clean and staff were ever so helpful. Thankyou so much Gail West Wyalong NSW Australia stayed in Room 300
Nice place right next door to Belly Up. Cozy hotel, nice continental breakfast (coffee, bagels, toast, muffins, yogurt, fruit, cereal, hb eggs, juice).
Very nice place--well-appointed living space. One very major blunder. Mgmt seems to think that, because it's Summer, there's no need for heat, so they turn it off for the whole building. Bad idea in the Rockies. You will freeze at night, no way around it. Ask for a space heater on booking or find another place where you can control your room temp. It makes or breaks your stay if your not shivering under the covers.
