The best restaurant I've been in dempsey hill! Worth the visit! Good food and service!
Great place to chill with your loved ones. The food is superb and the staff are really hospitable and attentive.
The pasta is of good standard for the price, Tiramisu is nice.
Great for weekday lunch if you want a nice quiet corner to enjoy me time :)
great pizza and sides! however service seems a bit slow
We went on mother's day. Ambience is very nice. We got an outdoor seat. But.. Service sucks right from the get go. The staffs look like rookies. No one was attentive to us calling out to them. I wasn't pleased that my husband had to pay for service charge. The food was nice (except the soggy pizza) but not worth the stated price. Could have gone for other alternative in the nearby area but decided to give this a try as the restaurant has a nice feel to it. My husband's food came first and has finished eating whereas my son's and my food hasn't even come yet! When we ask for the other 2 orders, a waiter said to us 'risotto will take 30 minutes'. But no one said anything when we placed the order. So it seems like not just the risotto which was taking a long time, it arrived together with the magherita pizza more than 30 mins later. This situation happened to the table next to us whereby one of their family member has finished his food and the rest were looking bored. It definitely needs to train the employees better. By the way, the restaurant wasn't even crowded at that time. It cost us $50 per head, without drinks, just tap water and a single dish each. Very disappointed really! Could have stuck to our original plan on going to Jones!
Food was good. I would come here again for Italian food.
Really yummy pizzas! We sat outdoors on a Sunday evening and the ambience was lovely- no insects or mosquitos, just a nice breeze and a good meal with family.
Love the ambience. Authentic wood-baked pizzas. The calamari was just right...not too salty. My family and I had a great New year's Eve lunch.
I went out for dinner on my last night and I walked passed La Forketta and decided to give it a try. The Pizza Capriciosa was really good, no wonder this Pizza was so popular just as the waitress mentioned. The wild Seabass was fresh and exquisite. This was one of the best quality Seabass I have eaten so far.
The service was great. The waitress knew the best dishes to recommend. Thanks to her that I choose the best dishes.
With their top notch food quality and knowledgable waiters, I can easily say that La Forketta is value for money.
Worst ever Italian restaurant I ever had. My family and I went to demsey and wanting to eat some Italian food that why we went at La forketta. Ambience is good. The food is so so but extremely expensive imagine we ask for parmesan cheese but the staff informed us that we need to pay extra for the cheese 1st time encounter parmesan need to pay but we order 2 pizza and some pasta. What kind of parmesan they using is it gold lol. Owner so greedy food so expensive but still want to charge for little amount of parmesan. Staff are so irritating they keep walking and walking and keep look at us like we're doing something wrong, this is a fine dining restaurant but some of your staff they don't know what they are doing. My daughter ask 1 spoon lady staff but never give the spoon that she requested and we keep looking at her she priorities the payment transaction rather than to pass to us the spoon we requested. Then when she went near by our table we ask again the spoon it think this lady from Philippines coz the way she talk. And we ask something to her about the foods she doesn't even know what's on the menu. Poor service specially staff. We will never come back here anymore
It's very pricey and they also charge $1 per person for plain water. The service was not so good either. $33 for a pizza margherita which was just nice. In total not worth it.
Food is ok everything else not really. Service really need improvement
Food was decent.
Only issue is that the service was rather slow.
In addition, on their website, there is a lunch set available on Mon - Fri 12pm to 330pm. Yet when I went down at 12.30pm, I was told that there is no lunch set available. The staff explained that the website was not updated.
Please kindly update your website in the future to prevent any misunderstandings! Thanks!
Food here is incredible. 100% authentic and organic.
Food is ok(albeit expensive), service not great. But agree with others - all these reviews look so fake. Google should spot this. And shocking the restaurant is doing this (totally puts us off). People with just one review, and comments about having the best Italian food in singapore, so specific about ingredients etc Google please sort. Or the restaurant be honest. Sort out your issues. Don t just post fake reviews and hope people won t notice. We would have given this place another go but won t now after they do this. Just can t trust the restaurant
Update - what a bizarre and unprofessional response to my review from the restaurant
I am not a competitor in any way (unless my home cooking worries you)
Just a customer who happens to enjoy good Italian food and have an Italian Wife
It's awesome and the food tastes great
Best pizza in Singapore
The ingredients are really fresh and authentic. I enjoyed my meal a lot.
Great Italian food (the pasta and pizzas are our favorites) and great service. Price is more on the steeper side but definitely worth it. Will come back again!
Not a place for lunch in hot weather as the air-conditioning is weak. Food is mediocre and service can be improved further
They have such great Pizza, Pasta and Seafood. The service was really fast and the waiters really knew what to recommend. They are really friendly and helpful and they know exactly how to make you fell at home. 100% I will be back to La Forketta Often.
I had a capricciosa woodfired sourdough pizza. Twice in a row. It was the best pizza I have ever had in Singapore.
Service was not up to the expectation but food was good.
Food is alright with La pollo pizza pretty outstanding. But the $13 salad is overpriced with pathetic greens and incredibly small portion. It is a disappointment overall and there are definitely better options around.
Well served by the staff here, will definitely come back and visit on my next trip to Singapore.
Headed down for dinner, after reading all the good reviews. Ambience was nice but the food is really overpriced for the standard of food. Ordered the prawn bisque which lacked flavour and was very watery, I had ordered the seafood risotto, More
Food was great, service too! Definitely will be back for more pizza!!
It is supposed to be a good Italian Restaurant with good food and ambience. Sure the food is decent. However:
-The food is overpriced for the value. Outside Singapore you can get much better quality for a lower price.
-The customer service lacks customer orientation and the staff does not try to accomodate customers request.
Having eaten at many good Italian restaurants around the world, including Italy, I would not recommend this to anyone.
Overpriced and tasteless food especially the carbonara. It was so dry! Do not order this. Service wasn't as great too our food took 1h to come despite no customer at that time (i.e. 9pm). Got our order wrong when we ordered for an assorted bread basket they came with a focaccia assorted lol. The server seems new and unable to advise questions posed when ordering. He said will check for us but end up just submitting the order without our consent. Totally not worth the visit as there are a lot of hidden cost (water). Still water cost $7 fyi. Please take a look at their menu online before coming to the restaurant!!
The authentic pizza and pasta were as absolutely delicious as in my hometown in Italy. As an Italian I recommend this place.
Absolute Desaster. Food was good but service was terrible. The waiter had no clue what they were doing. The manager was running around like a headless chicken. We waited 45 minutes for a bottle of wine. Avoid this place.
Extremely rude team of staffs. Totally unprofessional. Not recommended. Especially if you are looking for a place to dine without being rushed. Cos you can expect to be given a 90mins time period to vacate the restaurant. As told by staff. They will not hesitate to chase us out! Plenty of nicer restaurants with great service to choose from.
Had dinner there this evening with mixed results. The rigatoni al ragu was not bad though it could have been a bit more tastier. But that s subjective. annoying that my wife s and my dish did not arrive at the same time. When the carbonara arrived 10 min later, it was a disappointment. The egg sauce was over cooked hence the egg was actually flogging! That s a beginner s mistake and should not happen. A restaurant who pays attention to quality and with waiters who would care would not have served it. Tried tiramisu as dessert, which was the 2nd disappointment. Hardly tasted the mascarpone as it was full of cream. Serve this in Italy and you d be shot! Such a shame as the ambiance is nice and staff was friendly.
Nice ambient, ok food but disappointing service. They made a mistake and overcharged us, didn't provide the receipt, didn't apologize and had to chase them to understand what happened.
Overall my experience with La Forketta is fantastic ever time I dine their. My most favorite dishes from them is the warm chocolate cake and all their Pizzas.
It's an awesome restaurant to bring your family, nice environment and food is great.
Good food. Friendly servers. I loved the Panna cotta. And their squid appetizer dish.
Chewy meat, excruciatingly slow service, totally inexperienced staff. They tried to tell me that Carpaccio is meant to be chewy and filled with tendons rather than just take the dish away... okay.
Great ambiance and very authentic Italian organic food.
First time here. The high ceilings give a really nice ambience. Service staff was friendly and filled our glasses of water without us having to ask. I got the lunch set, with a starter of parma ham with rock melon, main of carbonara with salted egg sauce and a panna cotta for dessert.
Before our food came, some different types of bread was given. Did not see what types of bread were given but they were quite special and more importantly tasted good.
Following that, the food begins to come out of the kitchen. The starter was interesting, since parma ham and rock melon isn't a combination one normally sees. The sweetness of the rock melon nicely complements the saltiness of the parma ham.
The carbonara was also quite special, with the spaghetti more like a linguine which also retained a somewhat hard texture when most carbonara have noodles that get somewhat limp. The salted egg sauce was okay, not your typical cream sauce but nothing really special in my opinion. The meat was sufficient and gave some further texture to the dish.
Lastly, the panna cotta was quite good and was one of the best panna cotta I've had. I think it came with apricot paste on the plate and blackcurrants on top. Makes for a quite sweet dessert that rounds off the meal nicely.
It is 3 courses for $45 excluding 7% GST and a 10% service charge, which rounds up to about $53 total. Not the cheapest Italian meal around but I think it is quite good value for the money given the quality of the food. We did encounter an issue where their payment terminal had an issue and did not accept my nor my friend's cards despite multiple attempts, only finally working after about 10 minutes. Not fair to dock points off the restaurant or the staff though as I don't think it is their fault, but it was my experience there today.
Overall a nice and quiet establishment with good food at decent value.
(my apologies for the imprecise names of the food, I did not take down the Italian names for the various courses and it was not reflected in the receipt nor their online menu)
Mediocre pizza s at a very high price.
The quality of their food is an embarrassment to Dempsey s otherwise excellent food
Patronized this restaurant for drinks and desserts in a group of 5. It was 9.30pm by the time we reached after dinner at another establishment. We wanted to give our friend (the birthday girl) a surprise.
When the waitress saw that we had a cake, we were informed that there is a cake corkage fee of $40. Completely blew our minds. But as it was close to the 10.30pm curfew for alcoholic drinks. We settled to have the desserts and drinks WITHOUT cutting the cake and singing the birthday song. In the end we sang the song in our car instead
Minus one star.
The panacotta was good. Sorbet was meh and the beer was good too. But we felt the prices here were not justified so minus another star. Have a try and you'll know what I mean.
The pizzas do intrigue me but it'll be a long while before I come back after tonight's experience.
Prices like this, you'd probably want to consider being more accommodating to your customers. I don't mean you should let everyone do it since you're selling slices of cakes yourself but I mean come on, it's not like we're not ordering your items and it's already close to your closing time. But insisted on $40 cake "corkage" fee to have a birthday cake? Minus one star. To each their own, but if you don't want to have $40 (+GST I'm guessing?) added to the cost of your cake, then better to celebrate birthdays elsewhere unless you're celebrating with the slices on their menu :)
Service was good but unfortunately the food was the worst Italian I have ever had and ended up shelling so much. The Penne Arrabiata seemed to have been cooked straight from Canned Tomatoes and lacked taste. For the quality verses the price the pastas were ridiculous as far as the taste was concerned. Please check from other reasonably priced restaurant how the Pastas are cooked and how good they taste.
Good ambience and excellent food. Great attentive staff. On of the best at Dempsey Hill.
First experience and turned out to be not great one, I had booked the place in advance as it was for a celebration purpose, even after informing twice that we need a table which is quite and not in center still they gave us center table. The coasters were not provided except when it was asked for after drinks were served which made table messy. Order pizza with bacon and veg pizza was served which was second disaster. Heard a lot about this restaurant but Guess I will never wanna visit for what experience I had on the special day. Really upsetting.
Nice Ambience, dedicated people full of passion and delicious Italian food.
100 will recommend
Attentive service crews except 1 of them( should be new), cant wait to clear the plates and drinks. Training need to be enforced. Food ok but on high side.
Absolutely the best meal of the year ...
Fantastic Italian food and great experience...
Sorry finished eating before taking more photos ... a must try
Paid $17 for a handful of salad that was so small it should have been a free side. Great pizza but terrible prices...
I loved this restaurant in orchard street but after moved to Damsey road i think the taste had been changed a lot. Shape of dish was not same as before. Disappointed at this time. Im thinking if i would come here again or not
Their signature pizzas where fantastic. I will be back for both of them.
Excellent authentic cuisine and attentive friendly service
One if the most authentic Pizzas and Pastas I had outside of Italy. My family and I will be back often and I will recommend this place to all my friends.
One of the best sourdough pizza in town. Nice food. Great ambiance. Long waiting time expected. It's better to share main dish so that you have room for nice tiramisu dessert.
My parents in law just came from back from overseas. We took to this Italian restaurant and they served us a fantastic fish and chicken. Their Pizza was exceptional.
Went there today hoping for a traditional Italian meal and was sadly disappointed. Badly trained staff who knew nothing about the menu, only one functioning child seat for the whole restaurant and air conditioning that didnt seem to work properly. The staff seemed to wander from end to end of the half empty restaurant (while all other restaurants were full - this place was half empty - not a good sign) not knowing what to do. Onto the food- the calamari was nice, but the pasta was horribly overcooked and when I asked for more parmigiano, I was told I would have to pay!!! This is something that is a staple offering in Italian restaurants and I was disgusted we were told we would have to pay for this. One also has to pay for cold water which is shocking too. Pizza was bland and fairly tasteless - really disappointing and we will not be returning.
Amazing customer service and dining experience. Food is fanstastic and reasonable too. Will definitely return again. Cheers to La Forketta team!!
Short of staff on the day so pizza was off the menu. The pasta was also not on par with normal times.
Had a good group lunch here today. Place was cosy and quiet enough to hold a conversation, and the food was delicious. I did not have the pasta and pizza, but my colleagues gave raving reviews for them. My spatchcocked chicken had a great kick. The staff were friendly, attentive and also accommodating, to allow me to swap my dessert (in the set menu) for coffee due to dietary restrictions. We will come back.
The Cannelloni and the pizzas were super good. The ambience was vibrant and the service was accommodating and very fast and friendly.
Nice and Cosy. Food is a little dear. Need to improvement on air-conditioning.
My husband and I will be back for their world class gormet pizza
The worst restaurant experience in Singapore. Not even worth for 1 star. This Italian looking restaurant is just too obvious that they want to maximize $$ but do not want to serve the customers well.
I can try my best to understand extra ripping off of bread basket at $4 and sparkling water at $10 that were just brought to our table without alerting about extra cost.
Food was not even an average level. We ordered penne and seabass. Honestly, our helper at home can cook much better than that. Penne was overcooked and seabass had no taste. One more ripping off was main menu seabass must have extra side dish like potatos or grill vegetables around at $10.
The worst part initiated and ended by their unmannered service by the restaurant owner.
I firstly thought she was an aged part time helper that this restaurant hired to show that they are helping the communities.
This unprofessional looking old lady tried hard to clear our plates even there was food left in my wife s plate!
I bothered so much and questioned to her, and then she gave the excuse that she worried the food gets too cold?? So, I asked her again, Then, what can you do? Are you offering to re-heat them?
After that she left without saying anything like sorry or apology word. I could understand that she wanted to force us to order dessert with clearing plates BUT the food was still there and we were in the middle of the conversation and eating!
I was very unpleasant and tried to make the complaint to other waiter and then realized that she was the restarant owner so that any complaint wouldn t work to improve.
I think this unprofessionally unmannered owner cares nothing but $$$.
Upsell and crosssell has to be made for all the customers! Water, bread, basic side dish, dessert, etc....
I didn t want to ruin my evening. So, I just paid the bill and left without further complaining. But, can t forget how unpeasant experience I was able to buy.
They serve amazing starters and deserts are heavenly here..ambience is good..polite and helpful staff
One of the best italian restaurant in SG for sure. but be careful. dempsey hill.. so the wallet will suffer hell. but honestly the food is so good. it compensate ;)
La Forketta is fantastic! We have been coming to this Restaurant for 4 years now. The food and drinks are killer! Everything is always fresh and nicely served. This will be our recommendation for our youth group to stay when we come next time as well.
Celebrated my 28th Wedding Anniversary with another couple who are foodies. Always impressed with their good service and most important their FOOD and wine.
Their cheese platter is wulala...so good that we forgotten to take a picture. The assorted artisan bread was yummy and goes well with the olive oil and balsamic venigar.
Pasta was al dente and the sour dough savoury pizza was fluffy and crispy too. Pairing with the red wine is a must. It was good that I bought 2 bottles home after dinner.
Of course the friendly and cosy ambience tops it up. The other couple was there for the 1st time were delighted as quality of the food was excellent. Will be back soon. Overall excellent experience. Thank you La Forketta.
Service here is really good. Food is delicious! I especially love the warm chocolate cake!
Definitely come back again! thank you la forketta..!!
All the good reviews that I have read about this Restaurant are very true. The friendliness of the staff seems genuine. I have never seen such good customer service. Wood Fire Pizza, And Pasta was awesome... Best place to have a wonderful dinner date. Keep it up ;)
Exquisite WOOD FIRED PIZZA !!! My family and I shared 3 Pizzas. That was their Pizza Salame, Pizza Sausage and 4 Cheese Pizza. Their Seafood starters were super amazing as well. We had Fried Anchovies and Grilled Octopus.
best place ! highly recommend !! must need to visit !!!
