Management was absolutely lovely. The workers are friendly and informative. They assist one another. My experience here far outward anything best buy has done. My wait time in line was minimal. Even the person who helped me wanted to make sure a customer he started with was all set before he left. Awesome attention to people. This is the kind of store you should walk into when your having a bad day. I guarentee you will feel a millions times better even if you do not buy anything.
Beware, Micro Center no longer honors their extended warranty program. I bought an RX 580 and started seeing grren snow artifacts. I installed VR and the card got unstable. It finally crashed. Micro Center refuses to replace the card. Not only that, thy told the guy who they were helping in line while he waited that they could return a part on the warranty without testing. I asked why, and they said it was because he has a service relationship with Micro Center and if I brought my PC in and paid to have it evaluated, I may be able to honor the warranty. I love how every business in 2020, even Micro Center, now acts like Tony Soprano. Use your credit card to buy things - Citizen's Bank says you can charge it back if they refuse to honor the warranty.
Update - after two trips and two days with dimished work capacity, I got them to honor the warranty. FYI Y and D, my mobo is good and the new card solved all my problems.
For those who in time past like to browse CompUSA, here is a better place. All (or almost all) your electronic needs in one place.
Computer items unavailable elsewhere. It is the ultimate techie's hardware store. Staff very helpful.
Staff very helpful with product info. Good prices and reasonable selection
All the guys here know there stuff. I'm not a tech kinda guy. I've alway explained this to whom ever is helping me. I tell them what I'm looking for and they take the time to get me out the door with what I need
The best part about Microcenter is that it's not Best Buy. The second best thing is their reasonable prices and great selection of electronics and computer hardware.
I purchased everything needed to build my first gaming PC here. Unfortunately the graphics card they sold me was kaput..I had to return it but apparently it was past the return/exchange period. Luckily for me Yonas the Service manager and his associate came in to save the day. They were able to put some effort into finding the solution that worked for me. Even in these trying times it s great when someone goes above their requirements to fulfill a customers day. Thanks I will be a returning customer for life.
This place has just about anything you might need for a personal or small business setup.
Salesmen are generally more savy than the big box kids in the "Freak Squad" & the gamer gang...
They cover a wide variety of laptops, tons of desktop and you build it components, with probably 30 to 40 motherboards and maybe 50 video card models in stock at any time.
There are also regular opportunities to pick up off lease, end of run, or demo hardware at 40/50% off current prices for the same model.
There is an entire 30 foot aside devoted to routers, hubs and switches, and they probably carry 500 different internal pc/mac cables.
Add to that almost any accessory you could hope for and you have Boston Geek Heaven. The only problems I've had with service were ALWAYS FIXED before I left the store, and to my satisfaction if not better.
There are only two down sides to the place: A visit has almost never been less than 30 to 45 minutes... there is lots to see and no good maps ;-). And that causes the second issue for some with significant others who don't like this stuff. .. If you're lucky they can do a Trader Joe's run across the parking. Otherwise if they don't do Starbucks, it could cost you a spa treatment if you want peace!!
If you are shopping for a pc, mac, or accessories, this IS the place to go.
Microcenter is the LAST "Big Box" MEGA Computer retailer that I'm aware of. Let's see, We used to have Computerland, EggHead, CompUSA, and others. Worth a visit at least once a year. MicroCenter carries prettymuch everything and puts oput a multi-page flyer of stuff on sale. If you want to build a computer from scratch, they have all the pieces and parts. You want COTS (Common Off The Shelf) stuff, Macs, PC's they got it. This particular store is at street level therefore wheelchair accessible, entrance is off the parking lot.
I got a good deal on a "open box" motherboard there. It's nice having a real computer store nearby.
Lots of good deals. The electronics DIY section is in disarray and the one person I asked for helped seemed put off by the request.
I love this location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a huge selection of computer parts.
Lots of options to choose.good place for electronic items
Always go to Micro Center for electronics and computers
Well known in Cambridge as the best place for 'tech' of all kinds. Buy, build and / or fix most anything.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. No one is pushing customers to buy. Customer Support is just head-and-shoulders above any other electronics-store in the area, including big-box stores. Micro-Centers price for the same item is usually well below competition, often below or at-par with online stores. Never had a reason to complain as a customer for several years now.
Helpful staff, easy to come in and pick up what I ordered online.
Good buys. Attentive personnel. Some of your purchases will have problems. You have 15 days to get a total refund. After that, you have 1 year for repairs.
Good prices , helpful staff recommend to anybody looking for computer parts
Knowledge staff. Wide variety of products. A staple for home users and local IT service providers alike. They know their stuff here.
Very helpful staff. Just explain what you are working on and they will lead you to the best part for the job, not just the most expensive parts.
Increadible selection of computer parts and maker gear. I wish this place existed when i was a kid.
Awesome selection, and helpful--not pushy--staff. Great place to buy computers, parts, and related gear.
Tons of DIY parts but they are poorly organized. Staff are hit-or-miss -- some are great and others, not so much. But there is no other place like Micro Center when you need a specific Arduino model on super-short notice.
Awesome place packed full of products. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful as well.
Best and last store needed to get computer equipment that you need.
You'd be a fool to shop for computer parts anywhere else. That is all.
The service center was so helpful! They gave us a better price than the people at Apple and were much nicer! We went to Apple and had a horrible experience, so tried our luck here. Ended up saving several hundred dollars and gave our business to nice people.
They re doing a great job at promoting all the safety measures
I have called twice on two separate occasions and no one ever picks up the phone which made me have to drive all the way over there just to speak to someone. PICK UP THE PHONE!!!
This is a great place if you like to build your pc from the ground up - you can find all of the base parts and any add-ons you may want here.
Great computer store with helpful associates and great sale prices
Long time favorite, everything for your computer/electronic needs.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Pickups are super simple and my fave way to shop.
The only place for computer or cell or other geeky stuff
I love this place. It's just too bad that I'm not the only one that feels that way. The checkout process is a bit slow. Otherwise 5 stars would have been used. The staff is very knowledgeable and that is the most important thing. Next time you want anything computer related head to Micro Center first.
Great deals i.e computer and other electronics abundant in stock advanced technogical expert knowledge. If you want to buy what best suits your needs go, inquire, make a choice then press your order simple procedure
Expansive array of technical and electrical products
Best computer store in the region. Not only do they have all the off the shelf stuff you'll ever need, at good prices, but they have a huge, and growing DIY section! Great for browsing as well as buying.
It's like I've been transported to 1992 when computer stores were a thing. Well, this one still is, and it's well-located for sustainability. I love the idea that there's a brick-and-mortar store that can sell me most of the computer parts I could find on Amazon. The prices for some accessories are absurd, but for the most part you'll find something that works for you for an entirely reasonable sum. I do NOT like that the management has elected to configure the card readers at checkout to disallow the use of debit cards as credit cards, which still offers users more protection, but which would cost the store a few extra cents per transaction. My best understanding of the business is that this likely violates the store's contract with the card companies, but I've still had a manager look me in the face and tell me that it's impossible to run my card as credit - only to have an employee tell me "he can, but he won't" moments after he walked away.
This place will match new egg prices, or have sales BETTER than Newegg. Good bunch of folks too if you need help. Always get my parts from here.
I do NOT suggest using this place if you are looking for an Apple Authorized Service Provider! They are NOT helpful and will refuse to help fix small issues. Strongly suggest not wasting your time and going straight to an Apple Store.
Fun place to shop at with a lot of options and most often a competitive price.
Best place around for building/upgrading computers. As they've grown in popularity over the years they've had to hire less knowledgeable employees but there are still some good ones.
I need a doo-dad and I need it now. Off to MicoCenter I go.
The people here are incredible and know what they are talking about(Unlike Best Buy). I am personally a tech person and fit right in and found what I was looking for, but even if you aren't they will help you find what you need quickly and easily.
This place has a huge inventory and a pretty wide selection. I was able to come in and get everything I needed to start streaming video for teaching. Super interesting kids section with robots and everything priced decently. The webcam I got was only five bucks more than online, and being able to walk out with it then was worth it.
Cool place if your into the stuff but get ready for every employee to walk up to you asking if you need help and have to repeat yourself 4 times.
Wicked cool store . They have anything you need to build a computer :-)
The best very friendly well informed staff not alike best buy
Great place to buy computer parts. Great deals when you bundle a motherboard and CPU.
Not very many places left like this. Huge selection of computers components cables and most anything related to electronics. A really fun place to browse
Super helpful staff. Inventory on point. Plenty of parking. My third home.
No pressure well informed staff, great selection and prices. These guys back up what they say
Always a great place to run in and out. They make purchasing online or in store pick up so easy.
Wonderful service. I've had multiple employees go far out of their way to help me. Super fast online pickup. Great return policy. Everything tech that I need
The place has all the things you could use for your computer and they have a helpful staff and good service
Awesome selection and good prices on computer hardware. I used to shop online exclusively, but this store has taken all of my PC hardware business back.
Heaven for all techies with amazingly low prices. Even has a build your own computer section. They also have cheap phones and TVs....the place is just...........heaven. Also customer service is top notch. Be sure to grab their weekly ads for deals
One of the best places to go if you're looking to build that custom dream machine workstation. Intel processor prices best all known online and retail stores I've researched, and they always have the latest tech on hand. I built this powerhouse (see images) from Microcenter in-stock items, which 95% matched my pre-visit build list. I've built many custom systems for both personal and business production needs over the last ten years, and all have been sourced from Microcenter. It's the only place I go for all of my prosumer desktop and heavy weight custom workstation needs.
Great place to buy electronic devices. Very good deals on open box items backed by good warranty and customer service.
The staff here are extremely knowledgeable about their products and the nature of computers in general. They are not afraid to say what they think is best for you if you tell them what you need, and it will be said in a respectful way. Also, a wide selection for all price ranges. I'd wager that this is at the Pinnacle of computer shops, for parts, accessories and whole machines.
If you are at all interested in home or business technology, personal computer assembly, IoT, networking, gaming... You get the idea. Micro Center is your one-stop shop for any little component or technological "thingy" that you didn't bother to go find online, along with reasonably priced computer sales. Some things here may be a little more expensive than just searching for it on Amazon, but it's worth it if you need to get your hands on it now, as opposed to next week. It's basically just Toys R Us for the adult computer crowd.
