The famous pizza shop in the local area is cheap and delicious. The staff is very nice and friendly. There are many people at noon. It is a good place to eat.

It's Ian's pizza. Kind of a Madison must try spot. If you like pizza even a little bit you should go here. They've got all kinds of crazy pizzas by the slice like Mac n cheese, steak n fries, buffalo chicken, etc etc.. Lines can be long around bar time but they move quickly.
Great selection of pizzas, although there can be a really long line sometimes
If you've never tried the mac n' cheese pizza you have to! It's an experience!
Love Ian's for their salads! They have an great selection for a build-your-own salad and it's my go-to stop on State Street. Staff is quick to serve, but be prepared for a loud and only semi-clean environment.
Place has a good atmosphere and great pizza. There's a ton of variety in the slices, everything between pepperoni and quesadilla. There are also vegetarian options. Pepperoni and cheese are $3, specialty is $4.
Definitely not your average pizza place! If you are looking to explore all that pizza can be, this is the place. Kids love the Mac & Cheese. My favorite is the BBQ Brisket Tatertot. Great salads too! Oh, and don't forget the fun atmosphere and friendly staff.
If you're bar hopping around on state, Ian's is a must for the end of the evening. Mac n Cheese pizza will never taste so good.
It's a big slice and you have to wait for it be to "reheated" or something. You don't get it right away so everyone that has ordered it just standing around. Otherwise it's yummy and perfect for anytime of the day
Ordered hour and half before so I can have this on time but was late Delivery. 20 minutes late
As someone very well versed in a New York slice, very wide hat tip to Ian's indeed.
Mac and cheese pizza is amazing. Best post bar food in Madison. Popular for a reason.
I always love stopping here for a slice. Good food, good people.
Quick service and a lot of interesting delicious pizza options. My favorite was the Mac and cheese pizza
A stoner college student institution but also just a place to get yummy, creative pizza. I went there very drunk and it was like heaven. The more intoxicated you are the more it feels like you're in the beat place on earth.
very original pizza toppings delightful crispy crust and friendly staff
Love it .always great pizza .not cheap but worth every penny.
Awesome fun varieties on pizza, alongside old favorites. Definitely worth a try with kids, or with friends after a few drinks. Can get crowded, but they move quick and it's worth whatever wait there is.
Amazing vegan pizzas! Salads are excellent too. Love the locally sourced products they use.
Doesn't live up to the legend. Slices are gimmicky. There is better pizza nearby.
The pizza was okay not bad but not the greatest. Way overhyped
I like Ian's. They have creative great taste for pizzas. I hate waiting so long to get it though. But at least da pizza be hot when I get it.
The best pizza I have ever eaten, hands down. Friendly employees, awesome building, great interior art, wide selection for all customers. Salad bar was very popular with some of my vegan friends, and the crab pizza was heaven on a plate. Totally worth the $4 per slice. Totally and utterly impressed.
Great pizza done brooklyn style by the slice but you can get whole pizzas. Great late night place for younger crowd or a quick lunch for families. They use paper straws if you're into that. (Chicken bacon ranch pizza)
Pizza by the side with a large variety of toppings. A Madison staple.
Great pizza by the slice (you can buy whole pizzas too). The counter people are always energetic , and the variety of slices is always good. The hard part is deciding what you want.
This place is Outta this world
Gluten Free pizzas are superb and locally sourced like most their ingredients. Killer pizza..Killer ingredients..killer place! Had to call shotgun for the pizza and buckle in my pie!
Omg the selection of diffrent pizzas I'd never seen before. Amazing!!! Loved how the atmosphere was so, just sit and chillax and enjoy the fun. And the pizza is to die for. I'm definitely going to be going back there for more. Yummmm
If I had a list, Ian's would be on it for a must-eat experience in Madison. It's fast (even when there's a line) and has lots of choice since you can buy by the slice. Mac n cheese pizza seems to be the most popular choice. (I personally love that one and always get it, but a couple of my friends think it's okay.) Their salads are really good too. Seating can be hard to grab if they're busy.
Better than average crust with all kinds of fun topping combos. Don't overlook the salads!
This was a fantastic pick after a Badger game! Fast, hot and delicious.
Always love their mac and cheese pizza. We have lot of different options to choose from
Good at bar close, every other time it has been disappointing.
Extremely overrated. Lots of different options, but none of them are any good. Always busy, and not worth the wait.
The Mac And Cheese With A Side Of Ranch Is To Die For, Always My Go To. Crust is amazing and they have plenty of good flavors. I personally prefer Ian s over any Chicago pizza.
Great pizza. I recommend Smokey and the bandit, and the caesar salad
We love Ian's. The salads are fresh, pizza is delicious. There are so many great choices. Our 7 & 9 year old love it too. We always take a few slices to go and it's just as good.
Chorizo pizza was amazing, Mac and cheese pizza equally amazing. Brisket with tater tots was also good but not amazing.
Best part is the VARIETY. Ian's Pizza may have the widest selection of pizza of any restaurant. The Pizza itself is good. The value is lacking slightly but the convenience and simplicity of pizza by the slice does advocate a slighty higher price. I would go again.
The food tasted pretty good and the service was acceptable.
Great unique pizza slices. I had spicy chicken macaroni and cheese, and the black and blue steak.
The pizza is very similar to other joints around the place. Slightly exp for the portion. But very tasty.
Middle-of-the-road fare at a great location with decent service.
great service, enjoyed a slice of the mac and cheese.
Place has a good vibe, staff is very friendly and most important pizza was great!
Honestly the pizza is mediocre, but it's nice to be able to get pizza so late.
Ian's is my favorite pizzas around here. Just yummy... their bbq chicken pizza is too die for..
Every time I walk by the yummy smell draws me in for a slice!
Great pizza especially for a place with vegan options.
I can smell that place just thinking of it. Great place to eat pizza and judge people walking down State.
OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM!
Much has been written on how great Ian's Pizza is, and it's all accurate. The mac n cheese pizza is rightfully legendary. The specialty pizzas rotate through regularly and are all amazing. The salads are incredible and locally sourced. The staff are treated and paid well and given benefits (BENEFITS in a fast food restaurant!!) and it shows in their wonderful and friendly service.
Great salad bar! Great pizza obviously as well, but the salad bar is definitely faster during a quick lunch on a weekday.
Pretty average pizza. Though I didn't try the mac and cheese
Really good pizza and great service. Could be better at having their specials available but they have always make anything if you ask. Love the different combinations!
I honestly think the pizza here is severly overpriced and overrated. While I get the novelty of having unique pizzas, it doesn't mean that they're anything great. I think the hype is mostly attributed to all us small town kids moving into Madison for school. It's a great way to say "welcome to the city". Its clientelle is also a high proportion of college kids, making it a comfortable place for that age group. However, that doesn't excuse the insanely long lines at bar time and the risk of being part of a fight or someone puking on you while you wait for your piece of cardboard with little sauce and goofy toppings. Go for the experience and not the food. PS. The Mac and Cheese Pizza is legitimately decent and a huge favorite with the ladies in the dorms.
Great for a late night (or any time really) snack. I love trying out all the crazy pizza slices they have. The mac n cheese is sooo yummy!
I'd eat Ian's all day ever day if my doctor allowed it. Always stop for a slice. People are great, food is better
The best for many reasons. Most recently impressed by their level of devotion to being celiacs friendly. Gluten free pizzas have their own ovens and toppings/salad ingredients are prepared in a separate kitchen so you can get any toppings and salads without worrying/side effects. Seriously top notch.
I love this place, their hours are so convenient and the pizza is amazing! The location is close to everything, the building is fun and artsy, you can enter through the bank on the side or through the front and head straight into the line.
They only vegan option they had was a cheeseless three-veggie slice. I understand charging $4.50 for a slice with vegan cheese, which is more expensive. But upcharging for a pizza slice where the only difference is no cheese? Wouldn't recommend for vegan, non-dairy folk.
OMG SO GOOD. I was hangry when I stepped into this place, but when I left I was as giddy as a school girl. They have any type of pizza you can dream of. It will change your life.
Mac n cheese pizza!! Loved every slice and more options than regular plain jane! Beautiful view of the capitol. Perfect for date night/family/friend get togethers.
The famous Mac n Cheese pizza isn't worth the hype, but that doesn't mean you won't find otherworldly delight with one of their exotic monthly specials or even just be in business with pepperoni and sausage. The bread sticks are really lovely and yeasty, the salad bar looks decent, and they have Sprecher's in the fountain. IN THE DANG FOUNTAIN
