There are so many choices for kids to choose from. Water sprays for cooling down, sand box area for toddlers, tire swings and your typical slides to name a few. Guest facilities are air conditioned and clean includes lockers, restroom and concession stand.

What a great play area! My six year old grandson couldn't wait to get to the top of the climbing structure! Although I only got glimpses of him during the two hours we were there, I could tell he was so excited and happy as he climbed and discovered one surprising area after another.
Amazing too, was that there were so many children of wide age ranges, and yet with so much to do and explore, everyone was having a great time.
I really appreciated the fountains and clean restrooms, many picnic tables, benches, and places to sit. It was one wonderful afternoon!

Loved going to this park! Lots of gorgeous scenery and wildlife. We saw a hawk swooping over the restored prairie area and deer in the forest among other animals. Many trail sections and options to choose from! Bring your camera and take your time going through this gorgeous place in the middle of a bustling suburb to enjoy all it has to offer!

It s a great playground. Unfortunately, it s ALWAYS closed and they never update their website to let you know it s closed. This is the second time we ve driven 45 minutes to come here only for it to be closed.

Great playground area. Only two exits, rest is fenced in. There is play equipment for toddlers and up. Can get incredibly busy on holidays and end of the school year. Not open during the winter. Inside bathrooms are close by, but outside the fenced area. Concessions are available at times as well. Water fountains and picnic tables are available as well. The play area is wheel chair accessible as well.

Nice disc golf course but you'll want the UDisk app to navigate otherwise it's kind of hard to find the t-pads. They have a short course mixed in that weaves through the long course. This is also on the ski hill and is windy so it plays way longer than advertised. Baskets can be on super steep hills so be forewarned. Can also be busy with pedestrians walking and hiking through the course.

Disappointed that the park is closed for the winter season. There's still plenty of great weather left. That being said, the playground itself is pretty fantastic! I'll be sure to update my rating if hours change or are more accessible to more people.

This is a super awesome park for the south metro. You can do all sorts of stuff here. Bike, hike, run, disc golf, sled, ski, snowboard, swim, playgrounds, picnic, learn, explore. They've got acres and acres of forest, prairie, and wildlife. Definitely worth checking out. It's an amazing park and resource to have.

Very plesent scenery for daily brisk morning speed walk. Beware of children. Baseball hit me in the head, set my training back several days. I am training for the speedwalking national.

Great recreation area right in the heart of the city. Miles of cross country skiing trails for all skill levels. And the best thing is that it's lighted so I can get some cc skiing in after work on my way home. It's a great way to make it thru the long Minnesota winters!

I love this reserve! I've been going here my entire life and am now completing the circle and taking my son. We went on the first of the year so it was really quiet but the day before we had just missed the campfire smore and hot chocolate event.

You can rent to different kinds of snowshoes here to go into the park's surrounding trails. There are three lightweight metal ones in different sizes and the traditional wooden ones that are large. They also have the treads you put on your shoes behind the counter if the ground is slick.

The 'old' part of the building has the viewing room raptors, and bee hives while the newer party has the interactive things for children and classrooms.

Handicap, wheelchair, stroller friendly with several bathrooms.

Can host parties.

Offers classes and events.

Unbelievable venue. If I could rate 6 stars, I would. My wife and I had our wedding reception here and it couldn't have been more spectacular. This place is the perfect size for around 250 guests. The inside of the chalet is very spacious and open, the view of the grassy hill in the spring is phenomenal, the staff and service is out of this world, and pricing is more than reasonable. HIGHLY recommended.
They also have one of my favorite disc golf courses here!

Hyland Lake area is an amazing nature area to get out of the city with the kids. Something for everyone, from the playground for kids, nature center, hiking, water sports, walking trails, ski jumping in winter, etc. Our family favorite is the Hylamd Lake Park playground. The older kids love the large "jungle gym" type climbing areas, and tire swings, and the numerous twirly slides to fly down, younger girls can play on the two smaller play areas for their ages. Their are indoor restrooms and concessions as well. Great place to spend the day relaxing while the kids play.

The kids love this play area. After 3pm in the summer the school groups depart and it is much quieter (and easier to keep track of your kiddos). If playing on the playground gets to be too much, there is always a hike around the lake waiting for you.

We had the UnitedHealthcare Medicare and Retirement Producers Help Desk picnic here for the third year in a row. The area is perfect with grills, a large ice chest cooler, volleyball net, beanbag game and plenty of open spaces. The covered area has seating with ample space for nearly 100 of us. Several areas available. Parking can be a slight challenge as the larger lot is about 75 yards away. Satellites are close and the sites are on the lake.
