Super fun but crazy busy. Bring an extra set of eyes with you. Luckily there's only one way in and one way out.

Gorgeous park. Great place to play. Can sometimes be busy with lots of kids and families but alway a favorite playground.
One of the biggest play areas in the twin cities. Free to get in the park and free to park your car. Kids love the play structures. Check it out!!
Great park, very busy on the weekends. Could use more shaded areas. Overall great place for a family day!
Went on an awesome winter hike with my pup. Quiet, serene, and beautiful. Definitely the place for you and your fam to unwind.
A great place for gathering family together & letting the kids play until they are sick of playing hard & are ready to go home.
Pretty good! Tons of people sometimes long line for lifts, run are pretty small but deff worth the price!
Many quiet areas and so much to explore. It's never overcrowded. I believe it's suitable for people of all tastes when it comes to outdoor activities.
Great grooming for skate and classic Nordic skiing (although today was pretty warm for it!)
This is a beautiful park that has a lot for everyone. The playground here is enormous. I used to play on it when I was a kid and loved how big it was. It was like a whole new world
Now when I come here I enjoy using all of the different trails to take walks.
There is also a sand beach and tons of picnic tables for families and large groups of people.
Plenty of space to social distance as well even when the park is full. Although the playground is probably pretty germy so I would stay away haha.
Good place to gather with friends and family for grilling.. Nice play area.. has boating as well but no beach though..
Great place for cross country skiing and taking your first lesson (as I did)
Big, many trails! Lots of up and down on the unpaved trails, wooded, pleasant.
Was here for a fundraiser. Fun fall evening with bonfires, music and sunsets.
Has a lot of ski hills, most kind of short, around 15 seconds of you go straight down. Has a terrain park, hills for setting race (slalom or gs) courses, and a area with courses that are just designed to be fun to go down, as well as two More
What a thoroughly amazing park and recreation center. From lake, to trails, to nature, to amazing playground equipment and children's climbing challenges, a place an entire family can enjoy for hours. My children, ages 1, 3, 5, 7 were all accommodated, for absolutely no cost. This is a free, family friendly destination sure to please nearly everyone. A wonderful resource!
When we went it was the middle of construction so parking was horrible. The park otherwise is great
I took my grandson to ski lessons, only 10 minutes from my daughter's house. He didn't perform like Jean-Claude Killy or like Lloyd Christmas but he said it was fun.
Lots of space, trails are pretty wide, plenty of space for social distancing. Unpaved trails and Lots of paved trails too for an easy walk.
Great place to host family gatherings or individual exercise.
Walking trails wind through the trees and between lakes and ponds as well as paved trails for biking in good condition.
The is a beautiful nature center with interesting architecture, containing restrooms, meeting and classroom facilities, a tiny gift and snack shop and a play area for young families.
Also they rent sporting equipment in season.
The kids love the playground. Today we tried out walkie talkies and they worked great with how big the park is and how many kids were there
My kids (4 and 12yrs) had so much fun at this park. Great area for parents to sit and watch.
Great Park and walking paths! My kids and I love packing a picnic and making a day out of it.
This is one of my favorite places to take the kiddos in my life. The play area is incredible and the trails around the park are so beautiful. I love Hyland!! Thanks for keeping it free for all to enjoy!!
They have changed this so much since I used to go here as a child. They have alot of children here and can be quite annoying if you go around noon. Best that if your a single family to go around 5 or later to get away from the bus load of children that flood this park
The 5 stars are for Morty's, the food guys. I have never gone skiing on this hill, but I have enjoyed many gourmet sandwiches and salads at the chalet cafeteria. It's my go-to place for a lunch outing when I'm in the Hyland area.
Great park, lots of things to do, beautiful place. It's a great pace to be near nature.
Labeling was unclear. When driving in, the signs are not helpful. Where are the snowshoeing trails and regular hiking trails?
Probably the biggest playground in the metro area - great for the kids, with an adjacent picnic area. if that's not your thing, go on a hike on the miles of trails, or for a bike ride (bike paths are paved). Has a place near the playground to rent boats, get concessions, and has an outdoor exercise gym. Great way to tire the kids out!
Great space to have your wedding. Friendly staff and good location.
Great place for a picnic. Parking can be a hassle, UT there's plenty of room for picnics or laying in the grass. It can get a bit windy, but overall, it was a great place to go.
My 6 year old loves the Chutes and Ladders Playground there is plenty to do.
Lovely park, with Richardson Nature Center being the true highlight for me. The ski area was always crowded and the service is very inconsistent. I've walked out with my questions answered and with the right gear, and I've also walked out feeling insulted and still having questions. Richardson is fantastic though. Gorgeous and great resources, including the staff.
Nice little visitor center with snacks, rentals, and some lockers. Man made snow for XC skiing which is great for this year, trails are good from what I've seen so far.
Great family park. The Nature Center had a lot to do for both children and adults. There were leaning activities, birds of prey to watch, an animal viewing area and reading stations. As well as, outside firepit and picnic areas. The hiking was lovely. Trails were nicely groomed and well marked. YouI have the option of both paved and unpaved trails for hiking. Biking is limited to the paved trail.
The lake is so over grown with weeds!! I don t think you would be able to use the paddle boats, what a shame , it look nice and clear for the most part , very little trash.
Lots of picnic tables and area to settle down , the playground is JAM PACK!!
Saw some sun fish , painted turtles and that s about it ...
Decent small place to ski/snowboard. They charge you for parking close by. Alternative is to park little far off and the shuttle will take you to the ski area.
This reserve is very nice. We have had two weddings there now. Gorgeous
The ski trails and rental are a great way to deal with winter. The man made snow trail gets crowded, but it's better than nothing.
LOVE This park...great views/walking trails and an amazing playset!!
Great time frisbee golfing at the course. Not easy, a lot of up and down, but a fun day throwing the disc around.
Enjoying life in the company of nature is unparalleled. This place is beautiful, you can do any kind of outdoor activity here. Run, ski, ride a bike, walk, walk your dog, yoga, meditate, bird watching and much more.
Large clean park with lots to do for everyone! A real gem!
Great trails but horrible mapping. Lots of variety and miles of trails. Winter activities are also heavy here although I don't partake in winter sports.
Chutes and Ladders park--fantastic. Not that crowded today.
Great place to run! Anybody else find it odd to see groups of 6 to 10 kids from High School Cross Country teams running bunched up within 1 or 2 feet of each other?
Awesome play area! Huge structures with ample shady seating for the adults. The structures vary quite a bit and kids from 2 into their teens should have enough difficulty to keep themselves occupied. There isn't a ton of parking, but there are lots and parking within 50-100 yards. It is so large that some parents may not like that it is almost impossible to keep constant eyes on your kids, just too many levels and areas. There is a small snack bar that wasn't open when we were there around 5pm on a Saturday, indoor restrooms, connected trails, boat launch with paddleboat and canoe rental (no swimming), fishing pier, grills and picnic areas, pavillion for rental, and I'm sure much more that we didn't explore.
Great place to try skiing/snowboarding skills here. Cheaper rates.
Great place to just enjoy the outdoors. Pretty good size playground for kids trying to have fun!
I love the picnic area, beautiful, nice shade with BBQ close to picnic tables. Handicap parking and ramps, instead of stairs.
The three stars are the play areas are all in the sun . It was so hot the kids could not enjoy themselves. Why do all the playgrounds have the play area in the sun.
I took my 4 Grand children an I thought it was a FANTASTIC PLACE THEY ALL LOVED IT !!!
Awesome place to ski, And hang with friends and family, very friendly!
Great lessons program with well trained instructors that make it fun for kids. The facilities are clean and well layed out. Great large windows for viewing a good portion of the slopes from inside.
This park is amazing but my 16mo was still a little too small to do the ropes that compose the entire inside of the towers by himself.
Great playground. Huge tunnels in a massive sprawling structure that is completely fenced in. It also has places to picnic a walking trail and an outdoor gym. My kids and I really enjoy this place I absolutely recommend it!
Best place to cross country ski in the twin cities.
Best Nordic ski trails in the twin ciities with artificial snow.
Awesome place to take family or friends or community for picnic and other meetings
Short runs, but matched by a short drive to get there. The food is good and the new chalet is very nice if you need to hang around while your kids take lessons, etc.
Hyland park is always fun to go to I recommend that you take a walk with your dog, girlfriend, boyfriend, or Evan your spouse. It's always nice to share the walk with someone else ...
It's my favorite Park in the area, have everything for a family picnic. Highly recommend this park you will have a lot of fun with your family and kids.
