This park is AMAZING. HUGE and FUN. There's a mist station for those hot days and I have yet to see any other park have that.
Only thing though is if you have older kids, there's a lot of them that like to climb on TOP of the really high areas and they can easily fall and get seriously injured. Please keep an eye out for your kids!! Even the older ones!!!!

While we had to deal with a very aggressive summer storm (a tree even fell over!), the park is well maintained and lovely. The shelter had built in corn hole (bean bag toss) and was situated between an amazing playground for kids and the volleyball court. There is a food court on site, with real bathrooms, and bathrooms that are a bit better than a port a potty around the park.

This is the best outdoor play area in Minnesota! Not just for kids, but also for adults. Who ever designed the park was considerate about building equipment that builds on cold sensory. For example, there is a section of the park where kids can climb a vertical web without assistance, rock climbing walls to get to different levels of the park and much more. This park is surrounded by bike paths, picnic benches, exercise equipment, bathrooms and concessions.

I would say it's one of the best parks in the twin cities. Kids loved the place and had great fun. The play area is huge and is safe for kids of all ages. There have water spray area so recommend you have extra pair of clothes.

There are tables with shleter and can be reserved for celebrating Birthday parties. Very neatly maintained.

Fun, VERY large playground (used to be Chutes & Ladders when I was young) with a splash pad during the summer. Also has plenty of picnic tables and shaded benches to sit while kiddos play. Can walk to the lake and rental facility from the playground and rent kayaks, paddleboats, canoes. Peaceful and not-too-crowded lake to paddleboat around and lots of wildlife to be seen (turtles, geese, herons).

Great Park for the family. Dogs allowed on leash. On complaint no trash bins except for the entrance, plan on carrying the doggie bag until the end or backtrack to drop. Prarie, lake, forest and swamp ecosystems in a small area.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have been coming here since i was a little kid...and now me and my son come here all the time! Always top notch and i love it! Only down part is that the visitor center is hardly ever open past rush hour, which is a bummer for us busy people who dont have alot of time... otherwise its AWESOME!

We visited the Richardson Nature Center part of the Hyland Park Reserve. We walked several trails covering about 3 miles. The trails wander through forests and a lovely prairie section. The beautiful center is closed due to COVID 19 but the restrooms were open. A few of their many nature programs are still being scheduled. The winter snow and frozen lake added to the beauty. This a delightful park and can be enjoyed all year round.

We had a huge family picnic on the 4th of July and we were able to obtain a great spot that was clean, efficient and close to the water so many could go paddle boating or fishing. I hadn't been here for quite a long time and with all the updates and renovations to the place made it spectacular to hold our family picnic. Family from MS came and they were quite impressed with the facilities!! We may make this an annual family gathering during the 4th!

City skiing for whole family. Mostly green and blue short runs. Not long runs but good for practicing and refreshing your skills. Lessons are the best value but you need to book well in advance. Liftopia has also good day tickets. This year they are replacing lift on south side which will be a great improvement.

This park has everything. Levels upon levels of climbing equipment, slides, swings, a designated young person area complete with sand! There are also picnic tables, trash cans and walking trails. I highly recommend! My kids are 20 months and they were entertained for 2 hours! When they're 5-6 it'll be even longer.

If you have kids and are in the Minneapolis area, this place is a must. My 5 year old would rather go here than just about anywhere. And it's free! Worth more to me than the 50 bucks it cost my family of 3 to go to the zoo (which was also pretty awesome)!

This park has enough space to not feel in the middle of a crowd on holidays, games for children and not so children are super fun, you can spend hours playing in them, clean and nice to spend a family Sunday, or any day of the week.

Great place for kids to play! Lots of things to keep them occupied. Have been here multiple times before. Today we were here for a birthday party which was inside the fence, right by the play structure, with a few picnic tables. During our time here it rained a few times. They have canopies over most of the tables which was nice! But the BEES! Oh my, they were SO BAD! I literally could not eat my sandwich without a bee trying to fly in my mouth. Not sure where they came from but man were there TONS of them. It doesn't help that my daughter is pretty scared of bees. Overall it is a great place. My kids sure had fun.

Maybe put some signs out stating that there's a consession stand in the building. I don't think many ppl know it's there.

Great place for the family to have a good time outdoors. Plenty to do here. Large play area with places to climb, slide, swing, and just run around. There is a snack shop and bathrooms and other things to do also. My family and I go once a month.
