Our nursing group visited the Hyatt to have lunch at 8 block. Our server was named Lauren and Mr. Hector. Lauren went above and beyond to give us the full buffet and side bar experience. The pizza and dessert were delicious. We will surely be returning soon. -A Donsereaux & Delgado PN students. (=

We reserved a king. They did not hold our reservation and oversold the hotel. They told us we were lucky to get a room at all, despite our making the reservation nine months ago. They gave us a room with two doubles instead. When we got to the room, we found out it was an accessible room.

One of the beds smelled like urine and the shower was a handheld that sprayed all over the bathroom by design. They offered us "free breakfast" that wasn't even worth free. It had cold bacon, no fresh eggs, buffet only, and burnt coffee. I regret staying here and would recommend anywhere else.

Very well kept. Customer service was excellent, rooms were comfy. Ate at vitascope and the food was subpar and the service needs a lot of work. Cons were no late night vending machines (although room service was prompt and fairly priced). Also the shower in our room didn't have much water pressure and lacked lighting inside it and had a ceiling tile that looked like it would fall down any minute (AC maintenance duct?). Would stay again overall.

If you're there during the summer, keep your curtains drawn and the lights off, otherwise you'll stay uncomfortably hot despite the AC being set to 66. It just can't keep up with the summer heat, especially if you're on one of the upper floors.

My previous stay here we had a maintenance man come to the room because we were worried about our lunch meat going bad because the cooler the room is provided with wasn't cold enough. The maintenance man then request that a mini fridge be sent to our room and told us that we should get one because HE requested it. This year I called ahead to see if we could request a mini fridge and a microwave and was told that we could, and upon checking in the man at the desk shooed me away with a "there's a fridge in your room and a microwave beside the ice bin on your floor." We get to the room an sure enough we have the cooler that warms up immediately and takes forever to cool back down. Whatever, we decide to make due because at least this year we didn't pack as much that needed to be kept cool.

The floorwide microwave is a single 900 watt microwave.

There's signage on every floor for vending machines and not a single vending machine was found on any floor, we asked other guests we came across about them as well and they also agreed that they hadn't found any, which forces you to go all the way down stairs on the EXTREMELY slow elevators (that don't tell you what floor they're currently on so you aren't able to estimate your wait time) and buy snacks from their over priced little store if you don't want to leave the hotel. There is a Rouses within walking distance from the hotel, it came in very handy in battling snack cravings.

I've slept in better beds at a Sleep Inn. There were nights when I woke up with horrible back pains and couldn't go back to sleep because I couldn't get comfortable with the bed or pillows, everyone I shared the room with had the same experience, I expected a better sleeping quality in a hotel that charges so much...

There isn't a complimentary breakfast available, which is disappointing because even cheaper hotels offer breakfast for guests.

It has a starbucks, a bar, and a few eating places located within as well as a pool and fitness area if you're looking for things to do or a quick fix on food or coffee. The location is great if you have an event at the smoothie king center or the superdome and you don't want to drive there the day of, instead you can walk to and from the hotel.

For the most part the staff was great and super helpful with any other questions or concerns that we had.

The parking garage is connected to the hotel so it's an easy elevator ride & walk to the front desk to check in. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and courteous. The two double bed room was very clean & fresh smelling. The view from our room wasn't that great, but we could see a bit of the skyline. The glass elevators were awesome, you only had to punch in your floor number or scan your room key and you are directed to an elevator that took you to your floor! Great stay and will definitely stay there again.

Our stay was very pleasant. The Hyatt staff was very friendly and helpful. Room service and housekeeping were accommodating to our needs after we forgot a few essentials. The concierge RC was extremely patient with our 100 questions of how to navigate New Orleans. And boy did we enjoy that.! After saying goodbye to our hotel stay my moms coat was accidentally left at luggage hold, when we realized we called hotel.Bobby Hill the front desk office manager quickly recovered it and expedited it to our address in NY. Alll I can say for our four days stay we had a wonderful experience. We would recommend it highly.

Be careful.

Be careful.

There was no hot water in the entire hotel for at least 12 hours. No warnings, makegoods or apologies given.

Website says $25 self-parking. They don't actually own a self-parking lot. We arrived to $40 "event" parking. We used valet instead, but it moved like molasses and had some ridiculous Louisiana taxes associated with it.

Elevators are a maze. Personnel had to stand guard as a testament to the confusion. Plus, I slipped due to a fountain being broken. Parking is $40 when usually it's $30. Very congested, end the rooms are just basic.

I've been here for the past 2 years for Mechacon. The hotel is very nice and they give Mechacon enough freedom that the convention is always a blast. Only complaint is that they messed up my room last year. They overbooked and our room was given to someone else. Where we were supposed to get two king size beds, we got a suite with a king and a long couch big enough for two. But otherwise, our stay was enjoyable and the elevators worked quickly, which was nice considering Mechacon brings in alot of traffic.

Stayed here for a conference and loved it. Very close to many attractions, including the NFL and NBA sports complexes right around the corner - a couple minutes' walking distance. Parking is expensive and is not directly owned by the hotel, but there is plenty of street parking for up to 2 hours if you're just stopping by.

Lots of spacious meeting rooms, east access to everything, hotel rooms are clean and well-appointed. Check out the outside heated pool on the 5th deck - the nighttime view of the lit pool is also really cool!

I left a comment on the Regency club during my stay via their online captive portal for the internet and the food and beverage guy called my room to ask me for more information. I gave him the feedback on the Regency club and about the snail's pace of the waitstaff downstairs. I appreciated them actually checking up on me, as well as responding to my comment below. Overall I left with a good feeling about the place so I've upgraded my star rating accordingly. We'd probably stay here again when we come back to NO.

Original review:
The Regency club is ok, but the happy hour is too short and "snacks" during the day equate to a couple of apples laying out. I'm sitting in the Regency club right now and was just on a call with a client. A man started vacuuming nearby, came all the way to my table while I'm on the phone and then had the nerve to ask me to move so he could vacuum under my table - while I was on a call! Are you kidding me?! The staff at this hotel has no concept of customer service.

The restaurants are staffed by the slowest people they can find and they just don't care about you as a customer. For as much all the food costs in this place you'd think they'd want to be more attentive for better tips. Last night we ordered cocktails which the bar tender made and the waiter didn't pick up. We sat and watched them for 23 minutes while all the ice melted. The waiter eventually brought our drinks with no apology and clanked them down on the table. Today at lunch the waitress refilled my pop and did not refill the ice. I asked for more ice and she gave me a dirty look.

What is going on at this hotel? Are we your guests or a major inconvenience.

The elevator system is the most awesome that I've encountered. You scan your key and it puts you on an elevator headed right where you're going. If there are a bunch of people waiting, the system groups people together who are close or on the same floor. Very efficient system! I wish all hotels had it!

This is a nice place to have a convention but the classy looks of the place are completely let down by the staff. I've probably over-rated by giving the place three stars. Three because of the awesome elevators and the fact that the place is pretty clean for New Orleans. Would I stay here again? Only if there is a conference I have to attend.

The room was clean and comfortable. Couldn't hear normal noise from people walking outside the room, not from the street/outside. Borgne has delicious drinks and their broiled oysters are great. 10/10 would stay here and eat at the restaurant again

I was there when it snowed. We had a sales convention and I know that the staff was having a hard time getting into the city.

One day the water wasn't working because the locals were running their water so the pipes wouldn't freeze. This made the water pressure drop and the city was on a mandatory boil your water. It was like I was visiting a 3rd world. The Hyatt Staff rose to the occasion and handle the situation superbly.

I hope to never visit Orleans again, but if I do I am staying at the Hyatt Regency. I can't give enough credit to the staff and management.

This is an incredible hotel. Modern, comfortable, clean. The staff will go out of their way to do everything they can to make your stay better. Rooms are comfy and clean, one side of the hotel facing the Superdome has great views, the other side doesn't. The only thing that drives me nuts is that the hotel has hard water and soap is very hard to wash off.

We were there just to look at venues, but the staff was very inviting and professional. The hotel itself was clean and looked amazing, plenty to do and in a great location. Would definitely recommend if anyone is considering staying a couple nights!

Have a baby grand piano in the lobby, but they won't let anyone play it. I was told that included John Legend when he tried to play it. Pretty hotel, nice pool, but simply dumb policies.

My stay here was for business but I can honestly say I have no bad reviews. Staff was great. One of the gentlemen-Miguel provided us with places where we could go eat. Everyone was really nice. Bathrooms in public areas were ALWAYS cleaned and stocked.

I felt frustrated every day staying here for different reasons. The elevators, an example of innovation that supposed to make things easier but actually makes things more confusing. They have an attendant planted at the elevator to explain how to use them, what does that tell you? Also frustrating to go the website for info only to find out once you get here half the information is incorrect. This is too large of an establishment for them to not have an updated website.

It was very elegant and the staff went above and beyond. There are a variety of restaurants located in the hotel as well as a small convenience store and a Starbucks (which was a lifesaver after a night of drinking)
