Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Very accommodating- Brought my mail and my luggage to my room, along with a toothbrush for free because I forgot it. Extremely nice rooms with beautiful views. Same pricing to nearby hotels that aren't as nice. Very high quality. Loved it!

Location was great, room was ok. Shared a suite with some family, but considering that it was 'newly renovated', there were a few small annoyances on the bathroom (water pooling on the floor and not draining, yellow stains around the sink and toilet). Staff was friendly and restaurant was good!

As a Hyatt Gold Passport member, my wife and I were treated nicely. The room was smaller than I expected but had a gorgeous view of E 4th Street. The bed, however, was sub par. I've slept on much better mattresses at Hilton hotels.

Weddings all weekend long!! We have a 4 month old and sleeping in this hotel was a nightmare!!! Only stay here if you're planning on being out of the hotel until 11pm or staying up until then. Our walls were literally shaking from the music!

Staff was very helpful, view was amazing, centralized location was incredibly convenient, and the pricing was reasonable. The pillows weren't all that comfortable, but overall the stay was great!

Very impressed by this hotel! The rooms were just OK I would say. The employees though were nothing short of amazing! From the time you get there you are treated with courtesy and respect by every member of staff. Of all the places I have traveled I have never met such delightful people. I will definitely stay here again when I travel to Cleveland.

We celebrated my best friends 21st birthday here with a small group (4 people total, me included) as a safe, covid friendly alternative to typical barhopping. We decorated the room (room w/ a gorgeous city view!) and everything was perfect! We had such a good time. When one of our friends got sick in the early morning hours, Eunice at the front desk was absolutely more than helpful. She was so nice and didn't pass any judgement, and got me together everything that I needed to handle the situation to not wake the birthday girl. When I went down there with the current situation at hand, I did not expect to be met with such care and kindness. This is what hospitality is! I will most definitely recommend them for how helpful they are, even in the most unsavory of situations. Thank you Hyatt at the Arcade!! Despite the hiccup, the evening was so special regardless!

Nice place. Atrium was closed due to a wedding. Thought there were a lot of stores in the atrium as per the picture on the web site, but there aren't. Upper levels are rooms. Lower levels are stores, etc. Valet was great! Good staff, close proximity to bars/restaurants/local attractions. Rock n roll hall of fame is about 15 minutes walking, most other bars and restaurants are less than 10 minutes walking tops. Rooms are updated. Would stay again. Not one of the nicest Hyatts that I have stayed in, but good, and in a good location. Having said this, I don't know what this is, but I will bring it up to the check out desk in the am. Looks like mold spots in the bathroom in room 318. I'm only staying 1 night, so it doesn't really affect me the much. But it should be checked out.

Spacious rooms, beautifully furnished. Has a powerful hair dryer, ironing board, safe, complimentary coffee and tea, personal climate control. Shower has decent pressure. Request rooms in 235-237 range (corresponds to each floor 335, 445, etc) if you want a giant window with a view (2 windows actually).

Checking in, I was asked to,change rooms so someone else could, have the handicap room. Fine, that was what was available when i booked so whatever. I didnt appreciate the fact I was then told I would be charged more because the new room was an upgrade. I didnt ask for that and dont thunk a customer should be responsible if I was asked to switch. It took 50 minutes from the time i called valet for my car to arrive. Day 2, we called because we did not receive housekeeping, was told " we should have told you we dont have housekeeping" we then asked for towels and garbage to be emptied. We came back to the room 8 hours later and nothing. Called down and the front desk said they forgot and didnt know what room called.
The website showed stores open in the arcade, not during our stay. Overall, beautiful hotel that could have been a great stay if the service was better.

The best location for the Incuya Festival. It's two steps away from the best breweries and restaurants. Where the locals recommend. The room was very clean and higher class living. My only complaint was the lack of TV signal. None of the channels worked. :(

Everything was pretty good. The shower was fine, but not enough pressure, the ac doesn't get cold enough, and the room was pretty good. Being outside the arcade itself, however was loud when there are banquets in the arcade.

Immediately upon arrival, I was impressed. What a gorgeous building. The staff is awesome, everything is clean and new, beds are amazing. This appears to be the best experience I ve had yet in a hotel, with at least one 4 star hotel per year all of my 31 years.

The location is incredible. The elevator from the rooms drops you at the end of east 4th, which in my opinion is almost as good as Memphis Beal, but 13 hours closer. We love Cleveland, and found a home there. I will always book here when we come.

The hotel looks nice on the outside but tte "updated rooms" look old and smell musty. The cleaning crew didnt do a good job cleaning either as dust was VISIBLE in a couple spots. The one thing this hotel has going for it is its proximity to east 4th street where the night life is

Great Hyatt, especially if you like the unique vibe and look of the Galleria! Its right in downtown, close to everything, and feels very cozy while being modern. I loved the rooms overlookign the 'party area' below. The antique decor outside is complimented by more modern amenities in your room. Great service. Amazing value if you use your Hyatt Points - only 8,000 for what would be a $156 a night room. Also a great place for weddings.

We stayed at the Hyatt for a wedding taking place in The Arcade and my only reaction is, WOW. This is a beautiful and historic location in the heart of Cleveland. The rooms were nice and clean and there are plenty of restaurants bars and attractions within a short walk of the hotel. We were fortunate that our room was on one of the ends and therefore was much more like a normal hotel room. Some of the rooms are located on the mezzanine of the hotel, which are much smaller than the other rooms and it's hard to cut off the light coming from the main part of the building. It was incredibly hot on the main floor of the building, but the AC kept the rooms ice cold. I'd highly recommend staying here, if you can afford it!

Pretty historic hotel. Parking is difficult to figure out and expensive considering its not included with the high room rates. But the valet service and bell hops were great. We stayed for a wedding and of course several weddings took place while we were there... No doubt you'll be hearing the party until it ends at 11 pm, especially if you have an atrium view. Not particularly child friendly, but it is a high end hotel so I understand that. Beautiful facility and convenient to downtown Cleveland.

If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit HotelBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

A really nice hotel. Great breakfast, awesome rooms. Lots of little places to sit and relax. The arcade itself is very noisy and was loud right up until curfew. Everything was very clean and nice. Comfortable rooms and furniture.

Hotel is in a good location, close to lots of restaurants and the stadiums. Be sure PRIOR to booking that there is not a wedding taking place during your stay. VERY loud. Also, not the hotel's fault, but an extremely loud group of people next to us got back to their room at 4AM and kept us up with group activities that are meant to be done in private. Let's just say we're glad we didn't have children with us. Next time in Cleveland, we will look to stay somewhere else.

I want to share this story to help others understand how the rating review system works. If you write a mediocre review about a supplier, inevitably a response comes telling you how sorry they are, how whatever happened is unacceptable etc. What is less obvious is that these responses, of which there are many, make the supplier look good when in fact they have done nothing and will do nothing to fix the problem. It is so easy to write ""we will look into that" or similar words. I now realize that the system is warped in favor of the supplier, with the interest of the traveler coming a distant second. TripAdvisor and similar sites enable the supplier to register their responses and nobody is checking to see whether the supplier has done anything to help the poorly treated customer.

I attach my original review to TripAdvisor about the Cleveland Hyatt. One of my main complaints was that the hotel is all talk and no action. Hyatt is quick with the e-mails to say they will discuss and/or do something but they do nothing. As I note above, my TripAdvisor review was (of course) followed up with one of the many false corporate responses; in this case from the General Manager of the hotel.

The Hyatt response is also attached below. You can plainly see the master double talk of the corporate supplier. There is no obvious way to discuss the problem with Hyatt. Numerous reach outs to the manager by e-mail were not returned and no contact information is provided for the General Manager.

I wrote to TripAdvisor to ask how to rectify the situation. No response was received. I removed my original review from TripAdvisor and updated it to include this new concern. Here's a shocker (sarcasm); TripAdvisor has not published the updated review.

I have now taken a closer look at many reviews on similar sites. Typically, very legitimate complaints by travelers, followed by false (form/platitude) responses from the supplier that makes the supplier look good. I do not have many ideas of how to stop this behaviour other than the relevant web site, like TripAdvisor, refusing to publish the supplier response without clear evidence that the supplier has made amends or provided a real opportunity for the traveler to discuss the situation.

The current system must change!

Original review (on TripAdvisor and since removed):
I have now stayed in this location two times and my experience is the same both times. The building is beautiful and the staff (generally) are kind and helpful. The problem is the rooms are old and worn; our room stank like cigarette smoke, the wifi is mediocre to awful, the tvs work intermittently and the price of the room is extremely high. Sure, everyone who goes to an event in the arcade will likely be happy as they will enjoy the building and may be too drunk to notice their rooms after the party. They will also be enjoying the noise; the rest of us will not.So, if you are looking for a nice place to stay in the sense of an old building in a good location, this is it. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in the sense of a modern room, top services, quality finishes and food and fair pricing, this is definitely not it.

Last but not least, they are more talk than action. I did receive a note from the manager to help me find a "quiet room" next time. Unfortunately, the manager ignored my message before arriving at the hotel, and ignored my response to his subsequent message, and also conveniently ignored all the other issues in the hotel except the noise (which is too blatant to ignore). So, in the end, nice place for a party but you may want to stay next door.

Response to my original review from Hyatt [ a good example of the problem - leaving a nice impression with readers but really doing nothing]

Dear "x"I appreciate your thoughtful review as it allows us to grow and improve. I apologize that we failed you on so many levels as this is totally unacceptable. I am happy to discuss in greater detail.
Cordially,General Manager

The downtown location was perfect for getting out and walking around. We got there on a Friday night, and there was a street show going on, which was fun to see. The building was dated, but that is to be expected of a downtown hotel. The desk clerk was friendly, and the room was comfortable enough for what we needed. Overall a good stay.

Was there for a wedding, the whole environment was awesome and they seemed to do a great job with everything.my only neutral point was the food portion was sort of small and the steak wasn't amazing but that could have been what their food package was.

Beautiful hotel because of historic arcade. Room fine but minimal on the extras. Our second floor room had view of a wall, though other side looked into arcade. There were stores in the arcade but place felt a little dead on the weekend.

We were in one of the newly renovated rooms on the arcade. The room was pretty nice, the shower was excellent and roomy. There was a loud wedding in the arcade but they warned us about it in advance and they did end it promptly on time. Hotel is very close to done good restaurants and activities. Would stay here again.

Amazing architecture! Very nostalgic feel inside. Had a wonderful experience. Close to various attractions, restaurants, and shops.
The rooms were clean and quiet. Definitely would go back again!
Extended parking just a few steps down the street.

We stayed in the Arcade section. After looking at the Hyatt website, I thought the rooms would have a view of the Arcade. I guess technically they did, you just had to stand outside of your room to get the view. The view out of our rooms windows was an enclosed rooftop. Had I known that, I would have asked for a city view room instead. Also, the website leads one to believe there is all sorts of things to explore at the Arcade. This is also not true as 95% of the stores/shops/restaurants are closed. Very disappointing. The rooms were neat and clean, interesting in appearance but oh my did they smell. The scent of "old building" permeated everything, including the clothes hanging in the closet, which had to be washed when we got home (though they were not worn). Overall a slightly moldy smell, which triggered my allergies. The bed was comfortable enough but I have to say, they were the WORST selection of pillows from any Hyatt I have ever stayed at! You could either have a heavy brick pillow (you could kill someone in a pillow fight with these things!) or one so smushy, you may as well have not bothered with a pillow at all, unless you enjoy random lumps of feathers. The floors were VERY noisy and the toilet had a strange "moaning" sound to it when you flushed (our second room had the same toilet issue). Very loud too, guaranteed to disturb the other person in the room, if you get up at night to use the bathroom!
I really wish we had stayed in another part of the hotel. We went exploring, to the other, newer part of the hotel and the rooms looked very nice! My fault I guess, for believing what I read online on the website, which I guess was "technically" true, if a bit misleading. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
