The hotel is not bad. The problem is that we had asked for a king bed, they gave us twin bed. We asked for high floor, quiet room; they gave us 3rd floor, noisy room. We asked for river view, they gave us parking view...
There are some good aspects too. Location is good. You can use the complementary shuttle service and the bar has a nice view to Boston...

Excellent location, beautiful view because it sits by the river bank. Outside of the hotel looks old but it's nice inside. Standard hotel rooms, but the hotel shuttle service is very convenient. It can take to many different stops around Cambridge, good for school tour.

Impressive staff and hospitality! I travel and stay at luxury hotels as an ACRC board member and never expected anything great from this small Hyatt Recency upon arrival. Boy, was I wrong. But, when I walked in at 6am after a red eye flight from California i was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed and greeted by a sweet hotel clerk. I found out later that day after my nap that her name is Holly Chenkin.
I wanted to acknowledge Holly for not making me wait all day until check in time in the lobby for my room. We had a little mishap with the first room not being made, but she
quickly apologized and moved me to a better room with a view of the river. For me that went above and beyond excellent customer service.
My first impression of this small hotel was changed by Molly and was reinforced daily at the ACRC conference by your friendly ambassador Carolyn (?) AND your awesome team! They should be recognized as exceptionally kind and attentive employees.

Thank you,
Gayle Wiler

The hotel itself is nice and the shuttle service was perfect and always around when we needed it. For the price the amenities were not worth it. The pool was for doing laps, no hot tub, and the sauna was in the bathroom. Breakfast is very overpriced for continental breakfast it was $15. If you wanted eggs and toast it was $12. And the cafe didn't have much of a selection except muffins for $5. The front desk said the closest place for breakfast is a ten minute walk. We're checking out early just so we can go eat! Nice place to sleep and that's about it.

Couldn't be a more ideal situation on the Charles. Close to all the colleges and relatively easy drive from the airport. Hey it's got a giant atrium remember when all the fancy hotels had a giant atrium.

Great hotel, wonderful breakfast buffet. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because you would assume that parking would be paid for if your spending $200+ for one night at the hotel and it wasnt. We had to pay for overnight parking as well as the room.

Nice hotel decent location if you visit MIT. Other than that there is nothing around to eat or do. It was way out of my way but needed a Hyatt. Hot water in shower was lacking. Sink had a leak. Otherwise all was ok. Restaurant was delivered decent though my meal was limited.

Room was like an ice box- cold air blowing in from sliding exterior door. Despite heat on 80 still had to wear coat in room. Asked for new room first thing in morning after miserable night. Desk per unsympathetic said would look into it. Late told room fixed by same person. Room still frigid. Lasted a few hours and texted front desk who immediately responded and offered to a new room and apologized- moved us to new room within 20min. Room was toasty and comfortable- slept wonderful without having to wear our coats!!! This was excellent customer service- hopefully a lesson for the morning front desk employee. Thank you

Food Service could not have been any better. I stayed at this hotel for the annual Head of The Charles, and I appreciated the close proximity to the Charles River. This was a very good hotel.

the location for this hotel is prime, as it is right accross the river from boston, next to MiT. service was great, but the rooms were no clean. there were at least a couple small bugs on the bed, and several other areas that were not as clean as they should have been. i was less impressed than i have been with other Hyatt hotels.

Clothes were left in a drawer and we called immediately afterwards. We used the Lost and Found website and registered the items, etc. as told. We called several times. We talked to the head of Lost and Found. Somehow they do not have the clothes...mmmmm. I was very disappointed in the service around this issue.

Cramped rooms with worn surfaces. Very inconvenient to get to the pool/workout space in the winter. Walking through a drafty/unheated causeway to the health center is very chilly. Having gotten locked out of said causeway in an unheated stairwell/elevator corner was even more inconvenient.
Staff was friendly, though food was mediocre. Thankfully there is plenty of other restaurants near by. This was our first and last visit here.

Although I didn't stay here had lunch with my son and grandson. One server was rude. This would be my 2nd time eating here. The first time was Excellent food was great not so much this time

The parking garage was expensive, but better than being towed, I suppose. I don t remember asking for it, but they thought we deserved a handicapped room. Oh, well. The elevators were cool, glass and not square, but you had to play a trick (another guest showed us how) and put your room key on a sensor to get beyond the 3rd floor.
On the second day, no fresh towels came. I asked the guy at the front desk, and he called it in, but nothing happened. I saw the woman with her cart down the hall in the morning. She said she would take care of it right after her watermelon break. We went out and came back in the afternoon. The same woman was in the same place down the hall, still taking her watermelon break. I called the front desk again. Finally, late at night, fresh towels were delivered, but the used ones were not collected.
What lousy service!

I did not stay at the Regency on Memorial Drive in Boston, but I worked with a friend on wedding flowers for that venue on Sat. Sept 28. The exp we experience we had with the wedding planner, Dierdre was wonderdul she was incrediblt helpful and pleasant. We also chatted with the chef for that wedding who, not only provided us with a meal, but was so friendly. It was such a blessing and made our work a joy

My wife and I were here for the Boston Marathon. The staff was excellent and made this one of the best experiences. They had information on the race. Had logistics worked out for transportation to the buses in the morning and how to get back to the hotel. They even had a celebration once we returned after the race. The little things like this made the difference. The rooms were excellent! Right next to running and walking trails. Close to all the events and easy to get to. I will 100% stay here again and would recommend it to everyone else.

Went for a convention, the staff was rude and kept speaking to me as if I were impatient. Arrived Friday morning and went to the buffet for their breakfast, when I tried to order a mimosa the waiter exclaimed "it's 8 o'clock." Well thanks, but I asked for a drink, not the time. When leaving I had to leave some things a friend left in my room with the front desk and was spoken to rudely and harshly simply bexause I didnt know when the owner of the items would claim them. A "four star hotel" ought to have more attentive and polite staff.

Good upmarket hotel. Now looking rather dated. Food is worth a try. Be very careful when you turn left into the hotel off Memorial. Idiots have a habit of ploughing into the back of you while you wait for the lights to change!

It used to be a nice hotel, now it's a dump. They replaced the hanging plants along interior balconies with rocks. So now it smells bad and looks bad!

The mattresses are old and misshapen and the pillows (not the light fluffy down pillows that were the trademark of Hyatt) are flat slabs of old foam.

The restaurant is worthless, they either have no chef or hired one from Applebee's or Chili's, no unique entrees, no steak, and no decent service except at the bar. Oh and the Fresh and Healthy Hyatt promotion is over, so no fresh salsa at breakfast and no grapefruit juice just the high fructose cornsyrup laden cocktail that looks like grapefruit juice but isn't. No fresh eggs just from a carton. And the bacon is now served raw, if you want it cooked they still microwave it into little pieces of wood for you!

BTW I'm a lifetime diamond member (now globalist - a term they used to remove the 3 best amenities) so I'm not an amateur at hotels or Hyatt's, this one has just slid into a dump!

Honestly, for the price and hype of being the Hyatt, it wasn't really as impressive as one would expect. The room was nice, and clean, but the hallways felt run down and the staff was a bit uncommunicative and cold. The pool was nice, but restrictive as it was part of a health club and the majority of it was reserved for lap swim. Parking is not included and is an extra $38 to park for the night. The river view rooms are an extra charge. The location is nice, with lots of fun things to see nearby.

Very disappointed! Not to the standards of a Hyatt Regency. The staff was rude, pool was dirty and had rusty grates, the shower in the room also had a rusty drain, there was a spill on one of the beds that took 2 calls to housekeeping to come and remake the bed, this hotel is not worth the money they are charging. Good location. The other positive thing was the Manager. After we called Hyatt he made things right. I would never stay there again. They reallly need to update the hotel. The pictures are misleading it's very old and dated, way overpriced! Smelled of mildew.

This Hyatt Regency has been host to anthro New England for the last 3 years and it has been a fantastic location. I haven't had the pleasure I'm staying in any of the rooms yet. The staff unfortunately didn't seem very knowledgeable of services available. My sister is dependent on a breast pump and the desk worker couldn't point us to a private area where she could pump. We had to wander the floors looking for a private space for her. We found a unisex bathroom on the second floor that was exactly what she needed. Another complaint I have as of the prices in the convenience store in the lobby. $5 for a bottle of Aquafina is highway robbery. Other than that the convention was fantastic and I had a lot of fun there. It was amusing to watch the hotel staff react to all the people in costumes.

Stayed in Boston before Patriots game. Asked for early check in and got it before earliest time available. Usually 4pm, got 1 pm. Very happy with that. Expensive breakfast but good omelet bar.

Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable, enough space for a rollaway is definitely a plus. Hotel location is kind of in no man's land, but they have a shuttle that will take you to a handful to "Boston Destinations" and it's easy to Uber/Lyft back.

This hotel is just okay if traveling for business in Boston area. There aren't any nearby dining options unless you want to take a cab or Uber. The hotel is handy to MIT and Harvard though. Rooms are nice. Food and beverage could use an upgrade in my opinion.

We only stayed one night but the hotel is quite beautiful! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the Riverside view was gorgeous! The rooms are clean and modern, and quite spacious in the single queen room. Having charging stations and Bluetooth speaker clock radios in the room was a nice touch, but I suppose it's pretty ubiquitous now. One unfortunate part was that the air conditioning and my room did have a little bit of a rattle. Didn't keep us from getting to sleep fortunately. The rates were fair as well! Would definitely come back!

We had a great trip to Boston this Labor Day weekend. The hotel was great! We had two rooms, one with a lovely view of the river, the other didn't have a view but was quite comfortable. The hotel staff were exceptional. The concierge was particularly helpful and really made our trip special as he made reservations for us at restaurants that he recommended to us. He would call us mid day to confirm the reservation time and indeed his choices were outstanding!
The hotel had it all - a really lovely, large indoor pool, restaurants, gift show, fitness center and the best for us was the van that gave you lifts to Kendall Sq. and Harvard Sq. all day and night. The drivers were always friendly and on time. I would highly recommend the hyatt Regency Cambridge hotel.
