All the hallways look like they are from the 1920s, there is no wall paper, the carpet is dirty and old, shower temperature control is broken, poor tap water, small room, water cooker tastes like coffee, the refrigerator has ice drops dripping onto what s under it, there is no bathtub, and the fan in the shower room does not work. In my opinion the room is only worth $100 but they sell it at $250 (plus tax is $300). Very disappointing overall.

Enjoyed our visit with a magnificent view of the Charles River. We spent the day seeing museums and wandering Boston so it was a nice retreat from the city. Quiet location with a nice restaurant. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

When looking to balance location, affordability, and safety in Boston we decided on The Hyatt Regency Cambridge. I felt good after booking to hear my father stayed here many time while on business and raved about the hotel. I agree with and will reiterate many of the other reviews while giving our particular experience.

Check-In was quick and efficient while standing in the wonderful atrium lobby. We had requested and reiterated wanting a roll away bed for our 3 year old and that was accommodated and worked just as we hoped at the foot of our King Bed. Initially, I was not thrilled about the $25 charge but my wife was insistent she wanted him to have his own bed. I was extremely pleased when this charge did NOT appear on the final bill, when people do the right thing it always pleases me and I like to recognize it.

Our room was nice and clean and had an oversized TV that delighted my son though we wouldn t be in the room all that much. We had plenty of storage for our stroller and luggage and his car seat. (Note: We ditched our car because of the cost of parking.) We are also very comfortable with using rapid transit.

With that said, we did utilize the shuttle system provided by the hotel. I didn t see many reviews commenting on this so I will. The shuttle was very helpful for our family, it was simply a hotel conversion van that ran you to the closes T stop (subway / rapid transit). Coming from Chicago, we have no problem utilizing buses and trains and it is a huge cost savings and fun for the kids. The drop off is a safe location outside the T stop, next hotels and MIT. The shuttle ran on time and was very popular. Take a picture in the lobby of the Bus Schedule so you can time your departure and return so you never second guess yourself or get stuck at the stop.

Others commented and as will I about the pool being a great amenity but not in a conventional manner. It is definitely a journey to get to and find the pool in the adjacent building. (You never need to go outside.) It is a long walk but an adventure. It is located in a health club that can be utilized by the public as well. The pool is very much Health Club Swimming Pool. It is a full 25 yard lap pool with 3 lap lanes. 1 was for families to splash and play while the other 2 were strictly for swimmers. If you are a true swimmer, you have a place to actually swim laps, if you are a family, there is plenty of space to roam in the extra wide lanes and all shallow pool. It s not super warm because it is not designed for families like most hotel pools but it does get the job done and we enjoyed.

We did go to Fenway and tried to be savvy and take the bus DO NOT DO THIS. The cost savings is not worth it, take a taxi or ride share. The park is not far (too far to walk) and the bus was just a waste of time and I would have been more than happy to drop a few bucks to not deal with that. My We Are Going to Fenway buzz was nearly killed.

We did not utilizes any of the dining experiences but it all looked lovely.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone including families. We were able to save money while booking online. The location in proximity to the city center area was not an issue, and the location and surrounding areas was very safe. The hotel was clean and lovely and had great views. We would definitely return.

Great service, wonderful views of the city. Nice open atrium, free shuttle to take you closer to downtown. Rooms are a unique layout and very comfortable, with high ceilings. Feel very spacious.

The room and bathroom are small but there is a great view. I checked in at 8 PM and called ahead. Upon entering the room, both the room and carpet were damp. The following morning I was upset to discover that there was NO shampoo NOR conditioner to be found in the bathroom! For how much I paid for this room, I was extremely disappointed. The front desk, store, and restaurant staff were great but that doesn't compensate for not providing basic necessities!

I visited the Hyatt Regency Cambridge with a group of colleagues to view the Empress Ballroom to assist in planning our company's holiday party. The space was terrific with amazing veiws of Boston, including a great look at the famous Citgo Sign and BU.

Clean rooms. Small gym and pool. Modern architecture. Located at the end of MIT campus, not too far from Harward. The hotel has a strange elevator system where you need to use your room key to get to any floor. Breakfast not included, although you can buy a package. Enjoyed my stay.

Honestly this hotel has some inconsistencies, and I was originally a little upset. However, this lovely apology has made all the difference. I would stay here again. Thank you, Hyatt Regency.

Went to a conference here. The space was very nice. It had all the amenities that you would need during a conference. The food provided was very good. The convenience store on site is priced on the high side.

My stay at the Hyatt was exceptional, despite the surrounding events. (I stayed at the hotel during the week of the Boston Marathon bombings and suspect manhunt.) The Hyatt kept guests continuously updated of ensuing events, increased security, and maintained their high level of customer service throughout the crazy week. I felt very safe and well taken care of.

The staff was extremely friendly, provided excellent customer service, and was happy to be of assistance. If you are not familiar with the Boston/Cambridge area, ask the front desk or shuttle drivers for recommendations on restaurants, bars, shopping, and attractions. They are very knowledgeable of the area and had excellent recommendations!

The views from the hotel of the river and the Boston skyline are incredible. If you are visiting during warm weather months, I recommend upgrading to a room with a balcony. The balconies are very spacious and would make for a lovely place to hang out with travel companions. The rooms were very clean and the entire hotel was very well kept.

I definitely recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency, the staff is incredible and the hotel is lovely!

With a View of the Majestic Charles River located in the World Capital for Academia, Intellect and the seat of Political Power, the land scape is littered with Culture and Cuisine from the Local to the exotic.

Great hotel - beds are in decent condition and there s a lot of space in the rooms. There s also a decent restaurant on second floor. The rooms w view of the river are very nice. There s a large desk and large new flat screen lcd tv. Nice chair w ottoman to kick back in and bathroom has nice space and decor as well. I travel to Cambridge a lot - this is one of the better hotels.

The hotel is located in a great area. It's right across from downtown. The services are good, but the little things made they stay a bad experience. There were no beverage machine, and parking was $40 a night for overnight hotel guest. If I knew these things I would have choosen another hotel.

Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with their customer service. Booked 4 rooms with double beds for 7 guest but when my group arrived for a conference they told me they are sold out of the rooms I booked 3 months in advance and couldn t accommodate us. There was no manager on duty and women working the desk wasn t even apologetic. They simply charged our cards and offered no help, no additional accommodations or upgraded amenities because of their mistake. And if that wasn t bad enough an employee misinformed us about their complementary shuttle which provided transportation in the opposite direction of the convention center and no assistance to or from the airport.

Rooms were clean, other than the comforter in one of our rooms. More attention to detail would have been nice. Rooms need to be better labeled especially on the zephyr level. Overall, the stay was satisfactory and we were very comfortable.

PROS: Next to river and free shuttle to various locations in Cambridge.

CONS: The hotel seems to host a lot of conferences and it's easy to just get lost in the crowds. The elevators require a key swipe each time a new floor is chosen, which is ridiculous and causes delays. They have four elevators, but only two were running. The stairs are not easily accessible (I think they only open them for emergencies?) and I waited for literally ten minutes one time for an elevator. The pool is not part of the hotel building- it is the top floor of the parking garage and you have to take an elevator to a certain level to get to the skywalk, and then another elevator to the top of the parking garage to get to the gym and pool. You have to sign into the gym facility to get access to the pool. The pool doesn't have a leisure area- it only has designated lap lanes. We were hoping to get a view of the river, but our view was of the top of the adjacent building. Not recommended.

Horribly disappointed. The staff decided to renovate the room right next to ours at 6am. Then house keeping came to clean it. Terrible planning on their part. If you knew you had a room to renovate then don t put people right next to it.
They don t have anywhere to buy a water bottle. All the vending machines were either sold out or closed.
The room itself was okay. Definitely not 4 stars though. The furniture was clearly dated and worn, especially the nightstand and dresser. The bed wasn t that comfortable but we made do.

A bit dated but very pleasant stay. Note the hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere in terms of off property eating. There are buses to kendall square and nearby rental bike stand one block east. Nice views of the Charles river and good walking or jogging there. And the local flock of white geese.

Rooms were nice and clean, comfortable beds. The heating system worked well, and the shower water was nice and hot. The provided soaps and such were really nice and not irritating to the skin. The bathroom was also very clean.

Check in and out was seamless, and the staff was courteous and professional.

The only complaint I have is with the elevators. The glass sides are cool for some people but for others it triggers fear of heights or vertigo.

One thing to note is that access to any restaurants besides the hotel one is a long walk if you don't want to have to deal with parking on the street or finding a parking garage. However, restaurants in the area that deliver know where the Hyatt Regency is so that's not too much of a problem.

Had to wait over an hour to get batteries for tv remote replaced. Finally had to turn off the tv by unplugging the outlet so I could shut off the tv noise. Placed 3 calls down to front desk until someone finally came. Hotel is also dated and far away from shops and restaurants.

We are on a family trip to Boston and this hotel has provided a file e first night. Staff was fast, friendly and competent. The rooms are nice and we have a keen room overlooking the Charles River. The pool is just a lap pool with two of the six lanes being roped off for families to swim. But my 8 year old still had fun.
