We went to ski during long weekend. It was a bit packed on the mountain(of course). However, I feel they did a really good job sanitizing everything and separating the crowd indoors. The staff were super nice, and they were all wearing masks.

Not bad for for a small ski area. They make quite an effort. All the snow at this time of the season is man made. The facilities are relatively nice. The Lines were not too long. The staff was nice. I'll go back.

Super crowded. Waited 20 minutes every time I wanted a beer, which was only twice since it took so long. Just a bunch of food vendors, very few crafts, and super long lines for everything. $12 a person to ride the ski lift. Really? I guess there was no admission, so there is that. Won't go again

Hunter is for people from NYC bottomline. I'm not making a sweeping judgement of all skiers from the city but this mountain has become in the last 20+ years the mountain to go to when you don't know any better or you just want to tell your city friends you went "upstate to ski" when you really went for the nightlife. The Mountain itself is cool but it's overcrowed... loaded with poachers and hacks who will run you down and think it's your fault....just clueless idiots.Oh and lock your stuff up...it'll walk. This is not a real skiers mountain...."all show, no go" Advice....Go to Belleayre off the Kingston Exit (Rt. 28 west) to Highmount, NY...cheaper, better snow....quiet wilderness atmosphere. NY State run moutain.

I purchased some lift tickets to go snowboarding for the day on Thursdays March 1 2018 for that following Saturday March 3rd 2018. Drove 2 hrs and 1/2 to get there a d find out that the mountain is closed. That they have not had power for over 2 days. I did not receive any notification of this at all. No emails or call. Now that I am asking for a refund they want to deny me. There excuse is because they extended there tickets to Mt Snow a 2hr and 30 min drive from Hunter. No thank you. Just would like my money back.

Great experience doing the ziplines! Super fast first and second trails! A little nerve racking on the slow down at the end banging into the stop brick lol but fun stuff, good times so far up the mountain side

We had booked the ski lesson at 10. We were there at 9:15. There was 2 staff taking care of entry passes with 100 people on the line. We did all the reservation online. But by the time we got our rental equipment it was already 11:15 and we were exhausted of standing for 2hrs. We missed the good portion of our lesson and it was the instructors kindness to get us going. There were painfully slow service for every single item. You need the shoes? Wait 15 minutes, need a locker? Pay 13$ or walk back to your car and get back in line. Need a helmet? Theres a line, oh and also the board. I wouldn't go there on a weekend again.

Overnight front desk was unable to give basic directions. Hallway floors are hollow planks and noisy. The rooms are dumpy, but attempt to pass lux, they are not. The maintenance is really lacking for such a new facility, the walls have very poor patches, needs fresh paint everywhere, furnishings are beat.

Great day skiing. I took classes with Amanda who was phenomenal. She answered all our questions and gave equal attention to everyone in our group. We ranged from children to expert level. Yet she managed to make us all feel equal. Highly recommended!

Brand new area and 6 passenger high speed lift only makes a good Mountain even better. Hunter North as it's called is a challenging new addition and many years overdue. Definitely not for beginners. All we need is a mega dump and I would give 5 stars.

Lots of hype for this place but overall the entire experience was subpar.

The facility is extremely old and looks like almost zero attempt at updating it. Doesn't even have that older charming look, just old decrepit look.

The lines are insane at all the lift, and we went on a midweek work day. Also went back on Saturday and wow, you can wait 20 minutes or more minimum just to get back up the mountain. The food court lines are not much better at lunch time.

The rental experience was pretty terrible. They chose to go the "self service" model which I have never seen a mountain do. Only a handful of employees wandering around helping folks. Poor renters are pretty clueless and need some love.

The staff was nice and helpful and all the lift operators were super nice and always encouraging and offering high fives and asking how the mountain is.

Finally (and no blame to the mountain, it's hard to control this, so this did not affect the rating) the conditions were awful. I'm more of a green-blue snowboarder and this place

I'm no math whiz, but if you limit capacity to 50% as per covid guidelines, but then only open 50% of the mountain, you're not REALLY following Covid guidelines!! Went this past weekend and WOW. So many people, lift lines at least 20 min at all lifts, trails were packed, and the lift operators basically had their heads in the clouds. It was extremely disorderly and everyone was on top of one another. The parking lot is completely filled, so there's no way they are limiting the number of guests. NO real surprise that there was a massive Covid outbreak here last week! All food options close at 3, which means that when you come off the mountain, your only options are gatorade and ice cream from the 2 vending machines. Seems like Hunter is using Covid as an excuse to cut corners and save money! It's sad that this is the only NY mountain on the Epic pass, but looks like we will go with Ikon next year to ski at Windham instead. Definitely would not recommend going to Hunter if you care about your health!

Tubing at Hunter is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Staffed with half baked lazy teens, safety issues such as untreated ice was built up at the bottom of steps. I watched 11 people fall, one man with his baby in his arms. Other staff member on their phone instead of watching the safety of families on the conveyor belt and lying to their supervisors over the walkie talkie. Distgusting behavior by allowing drunks to go tubing in their underwear. This is a family resort but felt more like animal house. If your going tubing in the tri state area, Camel Back had order, control and was family friendly.

Went off season for an Oktoberfest. Not the biggest place but food and drinks were good. Went during a cider festival so no issues getting gluten free options. A good amount of people and they were running the ski lift to get to the top of the mountain. You could bring your drinks wherever you go. Activities for all ages and some shopping and well. In regards to the Oktoberfest, not many people were actually dressed up. But still some were and there was some music going on inside.

Had a great time here today. Takes far less planning and even though a one day trip can feel like a big commitment, it was worth it coming out here. Long lines for sure, but people here were nice and I'm exhaustes.

This review is strictly in relation to the "boardroom", or where you go to in the lodge to get your snowboard looked at if it breaks. The mountain itself is fantastic. I went snowboarding this past Saturday and unfortunately the binding strap buckle broke as i was tightening it. I was told to take it there to get it fixed. On a busy Saturday they only had one woman working in the shop and another woman coming in and out of the store helping with the cash register. I show the girl my board, which has pretty recent Burton bindings and she looks at it in such confusion. She had maybe 10 min of experience in fixing snowboards so I can't fathom why she would get hired to work in a shop that is supposed to fix snowboards. She tries fixing it once with a piece and then simply gives up and hands me the parts box, which is a box with old bindings and screws and such, hands me a screwdriver and literally says " good luck". After a whole 45 minutes later I finally found a replacement part from a different binding which barely fit, a whole ordeal which should have taken no longer than 10 minutes to fix. I wasted nearly an hour rummaging through old parts trying to fix the snowboard myself with absolutely no help from the employees. Sad.

Quick and Easy rental system. Fun skiing. Could have slightly more easy trails but not complaining too much. Only really one long green trail and that's from the half mountain not the top.

Great for beginners and the facilities are adequate however I can see in 10 years time some upgrades will be needed (facade uplift). Also has tubing and zip lining for younger visitors. The staff here are always chill and friendly. Two snow shops below have a range of equipment in case you ever need replacement jacket or socks.

Food hall has plenty of seating and offers a great view of the slopes. Best time to hot the slopes and avoid the crowds are early in the morning. Have fun!

Was just there yesterday, beautiful weather and loved the outside sitting area, haven t been there in years. I was super disturbed by the behavior of some of the instructors I could hear. I overheard a children s lesson and the older gentleman instructor was rough to say the least, as a mother I would NEVER let him speak to my children the way he spoke to that group, it was awful. There was also a younger female instructor who was helping with the group who proceeded to argue back and forth to the point where they shut down the carpet with all the kids on it because the class was so unorganized parents started removing their kids. The three gentlemen working for hunter in the booth at the top then proceeded to curse out the instructors (far enough that of course they couldn t hear but right next to children which I thought was really awful). We were really interested in having our daughter learn at hunter like I had but the behavior of the staff was completely inappropriate. Both my husband and I went to hunter as kids - I definitely don t think it s the place it used to be.

Very nice day trip snowtubing. The snow was was good, even though the weather wasn't too cold. Seating was available for onlookers. Although, it was crowded the lines went smoothly. Lots if fun!!!

Social distancing could have been much better. Waits were longer than expected, but the worst wait was definitely going through the rentals. Took us about an hour and a half to get through. They also let us knows our lesson wasn t confirmed 36 hours before we got to the mountain.

Overall, had a great time as a beginner skier and there were a couple great slopes to go down. Some of the staff was very helpful too.

Would recommend they figure a way to go through the ski rental process outside and that they more strongly enforce social distancing in lines.

One of my favorite mountains to snowboard at. A great bunny hill for beginners and a wide array of trails for every level of skier and snowboarder alike.

Food is a little over priced, but that's to be expected. There are a lot of seats but it can still be hard to grab a seat since many people will leave thier stuff on the tables all day. It would be nice if management was able to combat that.
