Not bad. The only decently sized mountain within a couple of hours of the city. However, for this same reason, it gets really crowded on the weekends and lift lines can take up to 20 minutes.

August 6, 2016- Celtic festival. $16.00 entrance fee, multiple venues playing mostly Irish songs. Bagpipe Competition. Highland games. And it was disconcerting to see one person smoking (how times have changed).

The resort itself is nice, lots of trails, well maintained and not too pricey compared to others. However the group lessons are not worth it. The lessons are usually 1 hour and 30 minutes long, but apparently there wasn't enough of us so we only had one hour and our instructor did not have enough time to get through the basics. We got up on the hill and his alarm rang and he basically told us "good luck" and left. I guess they don't really care for group lessons. Also the whole lesson our instructor kept on hurrying us and we couldn't really ask any questions because we only had one hour and he even told us that we're lucky because the group before us included 14 people and they wouldn't get half as much out of the lesson as we did(and we didn't really get much out of it, so imagine that). After we were left stranded on the hill, we tried to fend for ourselves and after falling a few times we learned a bit on our own. So all in all, the lessons aren't worth it, if you have a friend that knows how to ski, you'll be better of with your friend teaching you. Other than the lessons, the skiing area is huge, the facility it self is clean, the rental takes a while but it's more or less an organized process, the food is overpriced and the ladies at the cafeteria are mean. Not the best experience but not the worst either.

The only good thing about this place is the ski tracks. Safety is ZERO. And people working there are worst personel I've seen in my life (including customer service). In the middle of the hardest track my rental snowboard's left foot holder came out (it was not safely screwed). I almost broke my leg but thank god I didn't have any injuries. I walked up to the lift tower on foot and talked to two lift patrols there. Instead of focusing on the accident they started blaming me on cursing because I used "hell" in one of my sentences (Really???). The young one that was thinking he's a tough guy broke my jacket's zipper trying to rip off my ski plastic badge. I didn't want to get in trouble there but I wish I smashed his ****** up face on the ground. Instead I went down to the customer service and wrote a complaint. And can you imagine what they offered me as a compensation? To refund the rental fee of SNOWBOARD ONLY. I drove there 110 miles from NJ. They messed up my whole day, I almost broke my leg, I was blamed to curse because I said "hell", I got a "tough guy" with an attitude yelling at me, my jacket's zipper is broken and all they offered me to refund the rental fee of snowboard!!! Morons!!!
People, if you're serious about your safety don't go there. The cashier girl told me that they are getting more and more complaints about broken snowboards and there have been some serious injuries.

The closest mountain to the NY metro area with a decent vertical drop, around 1600 feet. The addition of Hunter North this season will add some much needed intermediate terrain. Hunter West offers some of the best expert terrain on the mountain but it is woefully underserved when it comes to snow making. They need to change that. The new owners have done a good job upgrading the resort and have maintained a high level of service and friendliness. Hopefully one day Hunter can convince the state of NY to allow them access to the true summit of Hunter mountain. If that happened Hunter would be an incredible place to ski and ride.

The skiing experience is great, the place is spacious, it offers the possibility of renting all the equipment necessary to be able to ski, it has different categories, the more advanced it is, the higher the mountain and finally the staff is very friendly.

I fell down last week. I broke three ribs, an arm, a leg, my neck, and a pinky toe. The bartenders in the lodge did such a great job, I didn't feel a thing. Can't wait to get back on skis! :-)

Went to the Octoberfest 2015. It was pretty cool, but the line to ride the lift was 45 mins to 1 hour...and there was nothing at the top of the mountain...zip lines werent even open. Very pet friendly.

So fun!! All the runs are groomed and the chairlifts are modern. Took a lesson with Lev the instructor who was great. There are a lot of busses that come here for day trips from NYC almost every day so easy to access

Went snowboarding here. It wasn't crowded when I went. Great mountain with a variety of trails for different skill levels. There's an easy hill for beginners that is wide and not steep. Friendly and helpful staff. A decent amount of food choices that are standard fare for commercial mountains, so nothing spectacular taste-wise.
There are no lights on the trails, so they close earlier than other places. Didn't have a card scan system for the lifts. They still had zip ties and stickers for lift passes. Get there in the morning if you want to have a long and fun day of snow activities. Overall great experience.

Waited in line for 3 hours to get lift tickets and rentals.

They clearly cant handle the crowds with COVID. They forced everyone to use the same computers to get rental papers without cleaning inbetween each person.

Save your money/time and go elsewhere

Favorite place to go in the tri state area. West side has plenty of awesome steep trails. Lower k27 is awesome but terrifying just as an FYI. There are several sweet terrain parks. Glades could use work but that's just a small detail. Definitely recommend.

Small, icy, crowded. If you are a good skier then head further north. If you have skied out west for any period of time then this will be a shock. I don't consider lots of snow making good but hey its close. Fun mountain fun aprie ski.. Have fun!

Beautiful spring skiing. First time up this winter, snow was holding up well, nolines, party atmosphere,. New North face was a great addition. Lift on the west face broke down while I was on it, luckily I was close enough to the top to jump!

On a neighboring mountain of Windham this place provides that extra challenge with what feels like a much larger trail selection and of difficulty. They have added a bunch of runs to their map since I have been last season and can say I can't wait to use this Peak Pass for the coming season. After some dope shredding make sure you go check out the local pub scene across the street!

I picked up my daughters from NYC and we headed there for holiday weekend 2017 ( presidents day ). First time there the mountain is excellent and lots of steep interesting long runs. The blue runs will make your legs burn by the bottom. Resort is well run and employees friendly and helpful. The place was packed packed ha ha for the holiday but aside from some longer lines at the lifts things went very well.

Decent mountain. The skii rental building is huge, bright, spacious. Which is needed for covid. They handled social distancing very well as far as the rental process is concerned. Everyone wears masks. There's social distanced lines for filling out the forms, waiting to get boots, waiting to get skiis and waiting to pay. They keep you managed and separated through the whole process. To try on boots, you are separated. To get the skiis, you are separated. To pay you are separated. Workers are either behind plexiglass or wear face shields. And masks ofcourse.
The food cafeteria, you need a reservation. So I'm sure it's also distanced. But since you have to take masks off to eat, we didn't participate in the cafeteria experience.
The snow conditions were poor with melting and freezing cycles. So the slopes were sometimes quite icy. But the resort had snow machines going. I guess that's the best one can do. We weren't happy that they opened only half the slopes due to covid. There were long lines at the lifts and limited selection of slopes, as a result. The lift tickets were priced higher without any sales to be found, so $110 adult 1 day lift ticket is the result, all due to Covid.
