My husband and daughter drove up from NC because they advertised having 6 runs open today and they had only ONE run open and it was a black diamond. They also don't refund your money when you're not able to ski on what is open. VERY limited skiing. We will not be back. Don't waste your money or your weekend!

Nice mountain for a day trip from NYC. East coast skiing which can often be icy. Still, they keep the slopes running even if there wasn't a lot of snow, so well with the trip.

Buy tickets in advance and skip the lines! Locker service is cash only.

The prices are reasonable, and the mountain is very family friendly. The rental line (on the weekend) is a bit chaotic, but we made it through pretty quickly. Overall, we had a lot of fun and would definitely come back!

Best terrain of any Catskills mountain. It has sick steep trails, mellow beginner trails, and everything in between. The West side also has it's own fast/detachable lift with much shorter lines than the main face, for when it gets crowded and you just want to get as much vertical as you can (and the west side has the best/steepest terrain at the mountain)

The views were incredibly beautiful. The ride up and down the mountain was alot of fun. The only problem was we had to leave. I would give 10 stars if I could. Love the Hudson Valley

The place I really learned it all for real at Hunter 1 when the small dots coming down Hunter were insane maniacs. Now I'm one of them can't ever be mad at #Huntermountain best learning center and if you can ride Hunter you can ride anywhere lol. I currently help volunteer with #ovrride we run trips up there 3 or 4 days week thru the end of March at least. If you see a guy with a green jacket with a on the back. Stopped by to take a lift up the mountain to view the Rip Van Winkle sculptor. It was well worth the $12 lift fee and easy to get to. The scenery was great. The also offer Zip Lines that look fun, but did not have the time to do. Looks to be a great ski area as well. They also offer horse back riding and off road 4 wheelers.

We love hunter mountain. Although their lift tickets and rentals are a little expensive, the trails are pretty diverse and formidable for about a 2 hour ride from Manhattan. They continue to upgrade their check in and rental systems to ensure they are quick and smooth. However, we were a little disappointed in their customer relations this passed trip. Mistakenly, one of the associates misinformed us about the ski lift closing time. But when we approached management to discuss the issue we felt as though they did not care about us or our patronage to Hunter.

The sky ride at Hunter was a lot of fun fory three kids, myself and my father. There is plenty to look at once you are at the top and room to spread out for a picnic.

The only negative, and not Hunter's fault was that I was terrified on the chairlift. Of you are afraid of heights like I am, be mindful that you might not like the ride up or down.

Great mountain

Great mountain

Best terrain near NYC terrific trails .
Great vibes people are relaxed and friendly
We stayed in the kaatskill lodge so essentially got free lift tickets - darn good deal . Check out snowbirds rentals good shop.

Hunter Mountain is definitely the best option close to New York City. We sometimes do day trips to beside our long trips. Some days it's really crowded but it's always great time. Lift tickets are $80 for one day and $40 is full gear rental.

Great local mountain, great conditions this weekend.

In winter can be a little crowded and sometimes a icy but great mountain. In summer great festivals and activities too!

The mountain is ok but the food is terrible!!! The greasy plates and trays on the top of the mountain are disgusting. I ordered French fries with bacon and cheese and the the amount of grease in the tray was more than the oil used to fry it. I'll bo brown bag next time.

Great steeps when conditions are good. But it's the first real big mountain north of nyc so it's usually pretty packed on weekends with lots of novices and citidiots so beware. Better off waking up the extra 2 hours early and driving to VT / real upstate NY.

Poor service. I got the single pack for $79 and they didn't give a prior information about the lifts being overcrowded because only lower mountains were open. The lifts weren't working properly, it stopped every few minutes and it was running at 50% atmost . For the lower mountain it was one run per hour. Also, when I went back to the office after first run, they refused to refund my ticket or provide a voucher for next time.

East coast hardpack(aka ice!) from January through March. Make sure you have good edges on your equipment! Most holidays and weekends at this place is packed and not much fun because of long lines and crowded slopes. Probably fine if one is just going for tubing and to socialize. Resort is much better mid week and non holidays.

If you re participating in the koo-koo COVID fear and scare tactics just stay away from this place. There are lots of people on the lifts and slopes with no mask, but who cares?! They re OUTSIDE! Also, take into consideration that if you have to cancel your lift ticket it ll be 8 weeks for you to see your money. We all know it doesn t really take 8 weeks to process a refund but that s the story Hunter is sticking to. I m just glad to see an outdoor facility that has enough common sense to not adopt an over-abundance of these over-reactive and over-restrictive measures all too prevalent elsewhere, pushed off as safety measures Afterall, we re outside. Enjoy all!

Despite the terrible winter so far, the snow was pretty decent. The crowds were moved efficiently so even the weekend crowds didn't slow you down too much. Hunter is one of the best mountains a day trip away from NYC

The snow Tubing park is great. We brought a group from 12 to 72 and everyone enjoyed themselves. There are several Lanes to go down and the magic carpet to bring you back to the top. You pay for 2 hour time slots and first come first serve for them.
