Great mountain for boarding or skiing. There are lots of blue and black courses, but not many greens. I came on a long weekend and it took almost an hour to get rental gear. The snow was powdery in the beginning of the day but became icy towards the end.

Love the mountain! I especially love how easy it is to get back to one place. So many other mountains get so spread out that it take so long just to get to the terrain that you want. Here, the top is almost always one lift away. Disappointed the only mogul run was the competition run. We can look at the moguls but can't skip them. Moguls on Lower k27 was closed but it wouldn't have taken much it seemed to open it up. Cool deal we got though, not sure how often they do it, but sleep-in Sunday was $39 for skiing after 12.

The best mountain for a day trip from NYC. They have great snowmaking and a variety of terrain although there aren't too many blue runs. Good selection of single black diamond with a few double blacks. The learning center is great as well, being separate from the main mountain, which keeps the beginners safe. It's also a great mountain to visit in the summer and fall for a hike or their Oktoberfest. Weekends can be crowded but when Hunter West is open it alleviates the lift lines. Coming on a weekday is the best!

We enjoyed ...Hunter mountain sky ride here. It was awesome experience with friends..my 3 year son enjoyed the ride. Also there will be October fare fest..it's good place to spend one day.. local food will be nice to test ...less options for vegetarian.

Im under impression that preparing, grooming of slops went down. On March 23 after cold week there should be no solid ice, like rock surface on blue and green trails.. Watched poor guys on beginner trails struggling to stay on that icy surface. Shame.

Hunter mountain is a great mountain especially for its location in upstate New York. When you are in Hunter mountain you feel like you're skiing in the Rockies you don't feel like you're skiing in the Pocono mountains. The lines are long on Sundays but good on all other days. Beware of ice on trails. Trails are groomed very well.

First. Got kids? Way kid friendly. Snow tubing anyone? I turn 51 in January, and I've decided to choose Hunter and their team to teach me to snowboard....(yeah, a young 51). Super fun at Hunter all year 'round! Google' em.....

Nice lift ride to the mountain top with a great view of the area. Had a two hour zip line for ( not my thing) that drew a lot of interest from others. However, you need to reserve ahead of time as weekend read full

One of my favourite ski destinations in American. You don't get the crowds of foreigners other places have. So you can feel more like a local. They spend a lot of time and money on new lifts and snow making with realistic prices for passes.

Horrible experience. Presidents day weekend 2018 was a nightmare. 90 min lift lines and ice covered mountain. They gave us a free ticket to come back because the bindings on my rental board broke. Too bad I won't use it because I am never going back. The people who work there are miserable and mean. It used to be friendly but now they're corporate and things really went downhill last 2 years. Horrible now!!!!

Love coming here during the week when the mountain isn't slammed. They have GREAT snow making and a ton of fun runs. When all of the trails are open, there's something for everyone at all levels of skiing & snowboarding!

Small mountain that gets crowded easily. 3x card requires you to stand in line every day to redeem for that day's lift ticket. Hardest runs are not that challenging. Does have a small mountain's charm though. Prices are not too high. Discounts available on lift tickets

Went zip lining and it was a complete blast. You have to try once in your lifetime. The guys who conducted the tour were excellent and very friendly. You basically start at the top of the mountain and zig zag down. Each zip is a little different which is nice. A+++

It's not really a mountain if you've been to Tahoe. That said, it's a great spot for beginners and some intermediate folks. Close to NYC, so that's a plus. If you have time, go to Killington instead.

I went to ski which was awesome on Superbowl Sunday. Barely anyone there. Good snow not much ixe except on way out trail. Got cheaper lift tix on their website order. Rented skis from a seperate shop. Cost about 120 for 2.lift tickets bought in advance online. Free. Parking. Very fun.

Went for the NY Zipline and got a ride up the mountain on the chair lift. Very nice ride up. Would give it 5 stars but the operator was not too friendly; when asked if you could ride all day with one pass/ticket he looked at me like I was from another planet and said no. I think they would sell more ride tickets if you could go up a couple of times in one day. I'll stick with zip-lining they are much more friendly and it was much more fun.

Hunter Mountain is a good ski resort if you remember to keep things in context. If you're looking for a ski resort in close proximity to NYC and even for a day trip this is your best bet. They upgraded their cafeteria and offer a decent variety of eating options.

It's an East Coast ski resort that's close to NYC. Good variation of trails, lots of snowmaking but also lots of ice. Very crowded on peak days. Food is expensive. Discounted tickets available at some costcos and at rei. If you went better snow, go north or west.
