Good and a beautiful place for people who like modern art. A bit funky. You can see the artist had a brilliant vision. Good place for tourists. Best part for me was an apartment from which a tree had grown. You can't go in the apartments but you can go to the store where you can buy different things as souvenirs. Bus station is very near. Loved the fountain in front of the building. It's a great place to take photos for memories and also for art photography.
Just be careful because the floor is dizzy and not flat.
Cheers from Croatia.
You need to see this when in Vienna. Spectacular building.
Hundertwasser house, colorful apartment building built by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. I think the paint is wearing off but it is a beautiful piece of architecture & holds some history.
Such a visual experience... loved the quirky nature of the colourful architecture. Got there a little too late to experience the cafe & shops, but still happy we got there to see the buildings.
12 a ticket, but worth it. Very interesting museum! The building as well as the art!
A very beautiful place. I have long dreamed of going there. And then my dream came true. The house fascinates with its colors and amazing vegetation on it. Nearby there are souvenir shops and cafes.
Ok, let's be clear about what can you expect: this is an private apartment house in a unique, unusual style. If you aren't particularly interested in architecture, skip it, as you can only go around and view the exterior, front and back and the surrounding area that is similarly arranged to match the the house's design.
You can buy souvenirs in a small mall near the house or have coffee or lunch in the restaurant. The food there is ok and prices average.
Unique painting on the residential building. Many cafe around with souvenirs shop.
To be honest I am a bit disappointed about the simple wall. It s been over rated, or maybe because we just visited the Leopold musuem about Herr.hundertwasser and his artworks so this building isn t that amazing at all.
This house looks funny, I went there thinking I won't see much ppl, but i was wrong!
Amazing beer and good ribs, we ordered 4 person ribs set, I suggest this set can be for 5 or 6 person, because the meat so much !!
Nice, but not that impressive. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it
A must see if you're in Vienna. This place is a short walk from Landstrasse Wienitte station and the walk takes you through some interesting and pretty back roads.
There's plenty of souvenir shops inside the Hundertwasserhaus village with a couple of things to eat too.
amazing place, you can watch on this house for hours
A must see if you're visiting Vienna. Although it can get pretty crowded in the afternoon. It's a cool neighborhood, plenty of things to photograph.
The Hundertwasser house is a perfect example for building planning in an extraordinary way. A simple apartment house built inside a piece of art. Beautiful combination of human nature and our rapidly growing world. It's messy and colorful architecture and the presence of nature as a part of the building reminds me of the place and mission of human being to be the part of our planet. I must recommend it for everyone who loves nature and sees no contrast between artificial and natural. A beautiful part of Vienna as a city and our mother nature which surrounds around it.
Great site, lots of tourists and souvenir shops. Also a cafe
hipster looking building with hipster shops. good only if you are interested in such sort
Worth a visit. It shows Hundertwasser's kind of imaginative creativity. It shows a different face for every season. This is winter's.
The nature and human friendly house .. unique building to see in Vienna
I think one should visit this place after Hundertwasser museum as the museum will provide you an insider and overview of what Hundertwasser House is. The architecture of the place is undoubtedly worth a visit as it is really unique and representing part of the movement in Austria during the 20th century.
It's a cute little village... While it's crowded with tourists, I actually enjoyed the simple art on the building.. It did make a big difference ... I just felt bad for the residents, not sure if I could accept these many visitors everyday in front of my apartment!
Yeah ok, the architecture is really unique, but the whole place is dead there. I didn't like it at all.
Wonderful
The artist built some buildings in Japan too !!!
It s also lovely
Lovely! Enchanting & Visionary. Would have loved to see the inside too but completely understand privacy due to its popularity.
Interesting and beautiful to see. Put it on your list to see.
Unique and beautiful! Don t miss visit Hundertwasser house if you are in the Vienna
You get a feeling like you are at a gate to the fairy tale world
Colourful, quirky and functional. The work of a true independent thinker. A must see!!
A fascinating piece of architecture that's also social housing.
The Hundertwasser House is one of Vienna's most visited buildings and has become part of Austria's cultural heritage
The most colorful spot in the city and a nice break from the rigidity of the city center. Takes about half hour fast walk from the city centre but worth the walk! One of my favorite buildings in Vienna!
Modern art where austran live , builted after ww2 around 1950/1980
Nice photo shooting apartment with unique art paintings... chill & relax place
It's a very cute and unusual building. Amongst all the symmetry is the only asymmetrical building. Interesting.
Lovely area to visit. Hidden gem. Worth the walk from the centre.
Nice crazy building where nothing is square
The architect is famous in Austria (his name is Hundertwasser)
There are nice temporary exhibitions and a permanent one. The last temporary one I have seen was about street photography.
It is possible to have lunch and/or drinks in the restaurant at the ground floor.
Definetely a must-see place in Vienna!
A bit crowded but you just enjoy the vibe, colors and feel the positive energy of an artist
Hundertwasser
Make sure to walk around to the other side of the apt. Way better views
A place to visit. Go around. Take pictures. Get the vibe.
Just a coffee and food place exactly on spot but when entered, the owner said consume the Anker drink you have and after you can order and everything. Extremely rude and location around is just OK because of it. No other options.
Very creative n artistic form of Architecture in residential apartments .
Beautiful place! Small but pretty cute and colorful. A lot of tourists and a lot of life!
This place is not maintained so it doesn't look like most photos posted. Color is vanishing, dark dirt instead
It is just 2 simple facade of 50m
Watching a movie in the Cafe located there won't help much since it is 100% in German without subtitles
Cannot believe that it is a recommended place to visit.
I recommend to visit the Hundertwasserhaus when you are in Vienna. The outside was really unique and different than the architecture in Vienna city Centre. The village in the houses is also very recommendable.
It looks good on the oks pictures but is poorly maintained so it looks kinda ugly and dirty now. There are way better things to see in Vienna
Very beautiful block of apartments, but I can imagine that if you live there that it might be very annoying that every day hundreds of tourists stop by. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful sight to see, the style looks a lot like something you More
Try to visit during the warm seasons. Not that attratctive during winter.
Hundertwasser House is a landmark because the architect decided to break with all the standards and rules in the exterior design
It's a bit of a trek from the centre, but still interesting to see (probably better when the sun's out and it's a little warmer)
A unique building in the world! However, it deserves some restoration works.
An unusual architecture/art to show buildings can be fun to live in.
Unfortunately, the maintenance of the building is inexistent and you can see that from the color of the walls, which is fading, with some dark spots all above them. Our guide told us that the artist himself didn't want to modify the building in any case, so that's why it looks like that. She told us that the you can't visit the inside, because people actually live in there. In my opinion, it's not something that you absolutely have to visit, especially when it's cold, because all the trees are leafless and make the area even more depressed and abandoned.
Interesting house. Too many people arround. Looks more like attraction than balanced living house with nature.
Friedensreich Hundertwasser started out as a painter. Since the early 1950s, however, he increasingly became focused on architecture, writing and reading in public . advocating natural forms of decay. In 1972, he had his first More
If you have plenty of time in Vienna you can visit this unique building and the neighborhood.
It isn't much more than a particular colorful set of apartments, but it's very different from the rest of the city.
Avoid the surrounding gift shops as they are quite pricier than others.
I (Eli) love art in Mosaic, imagine when I saw that in Vienna there is practically an entire building made by Mosaic pieces, including a small village and a Shopping mall.
This is Hundertwasserhaus, a apartment house located walking distance from two metro stations that was built after the idea and concept of Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser with architect Joseph Krawina as a co-author. The artist focused in architecture, combined an unique style mixing art in mosaic, fun colors and gardening giving harmony with nature and man to this cool village and you will find not only a building apartment but a village that included cafes, souvenirs stores, fountain and even a small shopping mall that even the bathroom is totally different and colourful decorated with mosaic tiles.
We would suggest you check the many pictures and their website before to take a decision to visit the place, because we spent a couple of days in Vienna and we had a spare time to go there and visit since we liked the idea to visit a different place in Vienna and a different neighbourhood than the touristic and historic Old town, but if you just have time enough to visit the main attractions that the city has to offer you might not be interested on this kind of architecture. However overall we spent a great time there.

Recommended: Yes, fun village and mall in a different and unique area of Old town Vienna.
Really interesting place not that far from the city centre. But the ride is worth it. You almost feel like in certain parts of Barcelona.
On a nice day a nice place to visit. On a rainy day the easy thing to skip. Unique and beautiful, but still just a curious looking building.
Unique building design - including curves, lots of colours as well as trees and plants.
Didn't catch the museum but cafe was a nice place to go. Very friendly stuff and good food. The cups are made from recycled coffee!
Definitely worth visiting at night, it s never crowded!
Interesting place to visit in Vienna. Genius mind of Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Stowasser) created this modern masterpiece in stone and paint. Place not for perfectionist :) broken lines and no symmetry. The opposite for the architecture we are used to. Please read about this place beforehand, it helps noticing the details and understanding philosophy of the artist. P.S stairs from the attached photo are from tourist store across the street, a replica of real ones
The style of painting is contemporary and appealing
Beautiful place. It's nice to be seen, but at the end it's just a place that has 6 or 7 shops.. so if you're not interested in buying souvenirs then your visit can last 10 minutes.
A unique building, stands out. Impossible to miss. A must see when you're in Vienna
Interesting architecture with a lot of history behind.
Very nice from the outside. The whole architecture by Hundertwasser is just amazing. It's a must see if you are in Vienna. You gotta pay for going inside. But in my opinion the more important part is the outside facade which you don't have to pay for to see it. Sadly on the other side of the street there are constructions going on. So it's difficult to get a great shot.
Too hyped, not properly maintained Colors are becoming dull. Though you can put filters and add intensify Colors, only 5 minute place.
A really quirky place to visit in Vienna. Shops are a bit overpriced, nonetheless worth a look
It nice to see. But also it really looks old and dirty. It has nothing from its former glory. Really disappointed in this place.
Very beautiful and uniqe architecture, it reminds me of the architecture in Barcelona.
Wow. What can I say about this place. If this is how social housing works successfully why we aren't we all doing it. It's certainly a tourist trap, souvenirs and cafes were a bit overpriced but if it all as a result of the social housing experience I suppose it's OK. Great place to wander, have something to eat and look at the wonderful exterior decoration.
Such a great region in Vienna. I didn't go to the museum but just walking in this part of the city was a new experience. Love the style.
It lies in the city centre of vienna. You can't smell the unique style of these buildings with different happy colours of life. I recommend to see it in the morning and by sunset. You will enjoy them
A variety of souvenirs to choose from. Nice place to visit.
A very beautiful and intriguing place to visit in Vienna! It's easy to get there with the tram (if I remember correctly, it's the tram be 1 Ringstrasse)
An interesting piece of architecture in the centre of Vienna. A short walk from Wein Mitte. You cannot enter the building itself as this is private property and people live here. Definitely worth a stop by if you are in the area.
A very interesting concept to architecture. The architect Hunderwasser is a proponent of sustainability and natural living, encouraging lively architecture rather than modern yet sterile ones. A museum detailing his work and life is located nearby (less than 10 minutes walk away). The museum is called Kunst Haus Wien. Museum Hundertwasser. Definitely worth checking it out.
I loved the feeling of eccentricity in conjunction with spontaneity, with its feeling of oneness with art, and in particular Gaudy
Vienna iconic building, it's great to see, however there's not much to do.
Very funky side tripif u are into design concept and art
My new obsession. Stumbled upon this artist by mostly accident. Definitely walk a few more minutes to his museum after visiting the house. Absolutely fantastic collection of work.
A different place to see in vienna. Its in must seen list but i believe if you are out of time so you can past this point.
Fun to see the creative spirit of Hundertwasser.Refreshing architecture in a building that doesn't know limits, ans plays with colors shapes and nature. Worth a visit
Amazing place. A bit touristic crowded but beautiful architecture. Highly reccomended to vistit when you in Vienna.
