My husband and I stayed on the 8th floor for 3 nights. I could write a novel but I'll keep this short and sweet. Day 1: luke warm water at best and toilet stops working that night. Day 2: no water. They're saying it's a city wide problem and they're working on fixing the problem. The offer was that we could bring all of our toiletries and clothes to a fitness club and shower in their public facility. No thanks. And the restroom in the lobby worked for our use. Day 3: water will be completely shut off from1-4. No biggie. We were going hiking. Come home at 6. No water. Finally comes back on around 7:30. I run bath water and it yellow. Gross! I wish I would post a picture. Also the room was hot even though our AC was on 68. Bed wasn't comfortable/ maybe the comforter was too hot. Were going home early to get some rest before we have to go back to work on Monday. Nothing was offered or discounted for our TERRIBLE stay. On the flip side, the access to town car is nice and The Nickel was delicious.

We've stayed here in the past and had a great experience. However, we booked a room there last week and couldn't stay because of an emergency room visit. They charged our card anyway, and refuse to issue a refund (even with our emergency room receipt). This kind of service is unacceptable from such a high end establishment, and we will not be staying there again.
***In response to the hotel response:
I understand your policy, and the reasons for it. I also understand that I stay at your hotel for its level of service. I can get a bigger room and more amenities across the street at the Four Seasons. But I've always appreciated your attention to detail in my stays.
At the end of the day, you have the power to address a concern, and you are choosing not to do so by citing policy. This is not the level of service I expect at your price point, and thus will take my business elsewhere.
Another Hotels Tonight score! This boutique hotel is very plush and elegant. The bathtub was excellent for relaxing after a night on the 16th street mall, which is two blocks away and has all the food and amenities you need. Fantastic location and beautiful aesthetic.
Very clean, wonderful bathrooms, friendly staff. No complaints! Great place to stay while on business. Only a 5 minute walk from the convention center.
Thursday Sept 28 attending the Brewtography Project exhibit. Nice venue, service and drinks were top notch. Primary complaint was the upstairs bar and downstairs photo gallery were very warm and needed more circulation/ventilation. The event attracted many people and became somewhat crowded, but the temperature was uncomfortable for most, and the crowd bled into other areas of the hotel.
This hotel is a great spot in a fun part of town. We parked our car, had a pleasant check in early and set out on foot. There was a great shopping and eating area a block away. There was a nice walk by the creek. The room was a bit small but had a couch and a desk. The bathroom was large with a double vanity, a shower and a tub. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.
Great place! The staff was unbelievably helpful in setting up our event. Really I could not say enough about how great they were. The rooms, bar, and restaurant was all great too. I'll be holding more events for sure. LOVE THIS PLACE!
Great hotel! Very clean. Staff was warm, helpful, and respectful. Unique style throughout. I really enjoyed the restaurant as well. Overall I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel was great and close to a lot of stuff downtown. My only complaint was that our room (212) was right next store to the building next store's A/C unit so it was kinda loud. The staff really did do everything they could to make our stay comfortable. Unfortunately they couldn't move us because they were completely booked.
We had a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, the whole hotel was very clean and tastefully decorated for the holidays. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Both restaurants inside the hotel were amazing. The food was fresh and delicious. The location in LoDo Denver is perfect, everything is in walking distance. I would always go back there!
We picked Hotel Teatro for a work retreat and the hotel itself was beautiful and met all of our expectations. We were specifically impressed with Matthew. He checked us in and helped with every question and/or accommodation needed during our stay, and he completely went out of his way for everything we needed. Highly recommend and hope you get the pleasure of meeting Mathew during your stay!
I can not say enough good things about this hotel. I was just in Denver and booked this hotel online based on stylish pictures and good reviews. I was not disappointed. The hotel's lobby and restaurant were recently renovated, and the style was unique and inviting, while being modern but still maintaining all the character of the vintage building. So charming. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and oh so welcoming to my little dog. It's hard to find a dog friendly hotel, especially one that feels so luxurious. The room was comfortable and quiet at night. We slept really well. The location is right down town and close to freeways to convenient to whatever might bring you to Denver. I would stay at the Hotel Teatro again, and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Denver.
Upscale place in a very convenient location in downtown. We were able to walk from the train station and to everywhere we wanted in LoDo and the CBD. The building is older and has a lot of character without feeling outdated. Clean room, helpful staff, quiet halls.
We got a great deal and saved a lot by staying close enough to skip transportation costs. We didn't need to use the service, but they do offer to drive you anywhere within two miles. So, I highly recommend the Teatro if your business is anywhere in LoDo or nearby.
Excellent sense of style and quality. I love the flow in the building and the aesthetic they choose. The rooms are high quality and the staff is humble and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with the remodel and the location of the hotel.
The only gripes, both of which are extremely hard to overcome in an old building is the rooms heating and the drains. Although they say you can control your thermostat I did everything possible, including work with the front desk and still was sweating at night or freezing with the window open. The shower had amazing pressure and was a highlight. The shower drain however was not up to the task and almost flooded the bathroom if you were not careful. As I mentioned both of these things are extremely hard to control in an old building like this.
Rockstar level hotel with rockstar service. Staff, food, atmoshpere, service, and aesthetic all fit the bill. Trendy, designed, maintained, and well thought out. Loved it!
We had to leave Vail a day early & I came across Hotel Teatro on a Travelocity search. 25% off made it a great deal. It's very clean, staff was great and the location was right by it all. Larimer Street, 16 Street Mall, Convention Center, etc. Would definitely stay again.
I highly recommend Hotel Teatro. Before I even got the my room the staff made a huge impression on me. They were all upbeat and extremely polite. There was a problem with the credit card being used for incidentals and the front desk was extremely helpful and got it worked out without any frustration. The corner king room was absolutely outstanding. The huge bathtub and rain shower were so nice after long days at a conference. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a hotel. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the staff at The Nickel as well. The bartenders are knowledgeable as well as extremely talented. The food and drinks are top notch. It's rare that I would give a hotel five stars but everything about my four nights at Hotel Teatro was so amazing that I can't rate it as anything but. Having been to Denver multiple times I can't think of any place I'd rather stay.
Husband and I went to enjoy dinner before a night at the symphony. While we couldn't get a table inside The Nickel, we were welcomed into the Study and enjoyed the same food/service. Excellent server, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere. Yes, it's pricey, but for what you pay, they deliver. We'll be going back.
I like the hotel, the location, the staff, and the restaurant. Knocked it back a star because wow is the furniture in my room uncomfortable. The couch was like sitting in a high school gymnasium.
This hotel is classically beautiful with very tasteful design features. Every employee we worked with went above and beyond. The Nickel had excellent, farm to table food and the bloody mary bar was to die for. Such a convenient location too! The building is definitely the most gorgeous building on the block! I can't wait to stay there again!
Stayed in room 710 (Corner King upgrade) which was amazing. Perfect views, great restaurant downstairs, and the staff were amazing. The Lincoln Navigator courtesy vehicle is an amazing perk. Don't miss Happy Hour @ the Nickel! Make sure to take the train from Union Station to Winter Park - makes for a great full day adventure!
My wife and I stayed in a 5th floor corner suite Saturday night and the Hotel Teatro did not let us down! The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very kind. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and we walked into our room to find a nice little bottle of wine along with several chocolates waiting for us! Nice touch! We loved sitting by the fire and enjoyed some drinks from The Nickel. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is the street noise that made its way into our room at night.
Beautiful hotel, somewhat small rooms and lobby but incredibly friendly service. The vanity mirror switch in our room was broken and therefore the light was permanently on. Not a big deal though. Amazing linens pillows and super comfy bed. Also so nice to be able to take advantage of their shuttle .
Shuttle service was a little slow, but overall good hospitality. We enjoyed being able to have our dogs stay with us as well. We would come back to visit again.
Walking distance to union station , restaurants and bars and shops. Nice service. Very clean with fresh scent. Only that parking is $40/ night. But if you find the over night parking spot in the theater garage structure cross street then you will save 1/2.
The room was smaller than others BUT, really clean W/ cool balcony . The bathroom was huge, bathtub for 2 and a separate shower.(I'm a plumber, it was nice!). The atmosphere is classical. Doorman and elevator operator every time we walked through. The staff we're amazing.
This is a nice hotel with very comfortable beds and large bathrooms. Our room had an amazing deep soak tub which was great after our hike. They also offer a private car to take you to locations within a few miles any time of the day. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Our only disappointment was breakfast but there are plenty of options within walking distance. Have a drink at the Nickle.
I stayed at Hotel Teatro about a month ago with my boyfriend. Last summer, we stayed here and had the most amazing experience for our anniversary. We were very excited to repeat the experience. The hotel has amazing amenities: a gym, on-site bikes, free shuttle service, a coffee bar, & restaurant. We loved using the bikes in the summer to explore the city! The hotel is centrally located downtown near the theater district. Unfortunately, I won t be giving 5 stars today because although our overall service was excellent, our room was half the size of the previous summer for the same fee. We were a little bit surprised at check in. Regardless, it s a beautiful hotel and we might stay again in the future.
It seems nice, was there briefly my only encounter was with security making sure I was not a straggler. Lol. Rather nice about it. I found the decor pleasing. The bike rack could use a look at, but most places have bike racks that are not very functional.
Loved it. Dining room was packed, though it was quite late when we arrived. My friends were....hmmm, quite high mainteance but the staff stayed cool. Rooms are lovely
The hotel was lovely and the service was exceptional! The only issue I had was that the room was not well ventilated. I couldn't open a window and there wasn't a fan in the room or bathroom. It made it a little stuffy. Overall the place is wonderful. It would have just been nice to have some fresh air.
I was served upscale food inside in comfortable seating while my dog was allowed under the table. The room was a bit small, but immaculate. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate. What more can you ask?
Classic Elegance. Had a very similar feeling and vibe of Union station. The menu changes seasonally so the options are new and fresh. The chilled pea soup was the most refreshing dish I have ever had paired with a lovely Italian Pinot Grigio. They have a large wonderful selection of wines and an eclectic array of specialty cocktails. They also provide an industry discount if you work in another restaurant or bar. I was thoroughly impressed with my first time and will definitely go back for a proper date night.
Love the place. Old building but modern in the furnishings and the renovation. It does not have the old building smell some of these boutique hotels have, very well done
Very cool hotel! Pricey food and noisy when trying to sleep, but one of my favorite hotel stays. There's a car that drives you around and they have cute bikes to use and ride around!
We booked three nights here, arriving the day after our wedding. We wanted spoil ourselves a little, and boy did we! Hotel Teatro did not disappoint. The hotel itself is beautiful, we stayed on the top floor and upgraded to a room with a soaking tub (so worth it) and even had a little balcony to stand on and watch people go by. But I would say the best part of our experience was the service. Truly five star service from the maids, to the front desk, and the valets especially. Having the complimentary car to take us anywhere within 2 miles was an amazing perk we hadn't even considered when booking. There was also a bottle of champagne and bubble bath waiting for us when we arrived, to congratulate us on our wedding. I don't have a single complaint about our stay here, and would book it again in a heartbeat!
Very nice reasonably priced upscale hotel in heart of downtown Denver. $250.00 with tax on weekend. Half the price of Four Seasons across the street on 14th ave and Lawrence. Huge corner room with as comfortable a bed as I've ever slept in. Large walk around bathroom with huge tub and spacious walk in shower. In a 100 year old building that's been renovated. Most of the modern amenities with the charm of a mid 20th century upscale hotel. Staff was awesome. Breakfast was simple but excellent. Restaurant in hotel I didn't use but was packed.
Beautiful hotel! My boyfriend and I stayed for five days in the corner king room. It was amazing! The shower, bathtub, balcony, bed and the rest of the long list of amenities made our stay awesome! Thank you Jeff Rose (Director of Operations) for making this stay above and beyond! P.S. Check out the Nickel, the service was perfect and the food/drinks are delicious!
My daughter and I first visited Hotel Teatro a couple of weekends ago for a mother-daughter weekend in Denver. We received such a welcoming and VIP experience during check-in that we thought they had us confused for someone else. We were baffled. The concierge, Matthew Slavsky, upgraded us to a corner room with amazing views of downtown Denver and greeted us by name our entire stay. This guy doesn t sit behind a big wooden desk in the lobby looking bored. He circulates and finds YOU.
The hotel is in an older building (slow elevators) with a hip and upscale interior and a very friendly and relaxed vibe. The location is prime downtown and only steps away from Larimer Square. The Study lounge and Nickel bar in the lobby are great places to gather, especially with your dog. (Teatro is VERY dog friendly.) It felt like home, and we didn t venture outside the hotel nearly as much as we had planned because we were so damned comfortable.
We loved it so much that I booked another room for the very next weekend with my husband. We wanted another balcony room on the ninth floor which was full, and I shouldn t have been surprised when the concierge, Matthew, recognized my name on the reservation and called me personally to get us the same beautiful room.
On my second visit, Melissa and Jack(?) at the front desk took such good care of us that my husband immediately fell in love with the place, too. They even watched our dog while we went to grab some lunch to kill time until our room was ready. (Of course our Cheney is the most well-behaved, sweet baby angel in the world.)
Hotel Teatro is well managed and has some of the the best staff of all the downtown hotels I ve visited. Get this--I filled out a hotel survey from our first visit and mentioned some burned out bulbs in our room, and they were all replaced on our return visit. The only constructive criticism I can give concerns The Nickel bar/restaurant staff. The food is delicious and the service is solid, but the head bartender/manager is not the friendliest chap. Granted, on our second visit, we were in a large party with small children (never easy for waitstaff), but I noticed his attitude on my first visit with my daughter as well. Just a jarring transition when you re glowing from all the attention the reception staff lavishes on you.
I could not recommend this hotel more and just wish I had found it earlier. Despite pared down staff and amenities, reduced dining hours and extra cautions in place due to COVID, this place is SPECIAL. I can only imagine how fun it must be during the normal times. We live in Boulder, and Teatro is now our staycation destination. Upscale yet unpretentious and a whole lot of fun.
I came denver for work, I stayed at Hotel Teatro ,hotel is very clean . When finished work I wanted to take a hot shower, there was no hot water, I called front desk, said she's very sorry that she would comp a night. The next day when I spoke with front desk, they were rude to me and said they couldn't comp the room because the the girl I originally spoke to misinformed me. Everything was great, but what matter most to me is customer service. They were very rude to me and my co-worker. Next time I'll stay at the Hyatt
The staff is five star all the way, however the hotel as a whole falls a little short. Although I appreciate the historic feel of wooden sash windows I also appreciate not hearing everyone on the street. The lack of a pool and almost cramped rooms is noticeable. That said however I can't compliment the staff enough for their on point door and lobby service and positive attitude greating every guest. I would stay again despite my minor complaints but perhaps try to request a room not facing 14th. because of the large video sign that punches right through the curtains and the street noise.
Didn t like the hotel,I booked the room with king size bed and the guy at the front desk promised the room with the Mountain View ,so instead we received the room with queen size bed and when we woke up in the morning we didn t have any view at all.I think two star is a lot for the service they provided
This was our second stay at the Hotel Teatro and once again we were not disappointed. Our room was small as you would expect in an older hotel but that's what gives it its charm. Don't think that by being old that it looks old. Everything is updated and you lack for nothing... Even your robes. The bed is super comfortable and the shower head is awesome! The convenience of the location is a huge perk and they provide a free shuttle within 2 miles from the hotel. If you want to see any performance you are right across the street. Parking may be an issue but we don't like to Valet which they do have. The staff is all very friendly and accommodating. Very well worth a stay!
This is a very nice hotel. Rooms spacious enough. Liked the bed. Keurig coffe machine and safe in closet. Windows dont open in room. Rain Shower was AWESOME with a optional hand held nozzle. Two sinks and a separate tub. Bed stands on both sides. Big flat screens and plenty of outlets to plug into. Had lunch at the Nickel downstairs. Very good.
Great locations with multiple parking options plus valet. Close to many restaurants and event venues. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Restaurant "The Nickel" was amazing I recommend it highly. The staff were very nice and attentive.
We can t say enough good things about this place. My wife and I spent one night here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant was fantastic, the concierge was outstanding, and the free transportation came in handy a few times. We will definitely be staying here again!
