Pleasant rooms, friendly staff, but somewhat confusing check-in process.
Pleasant rooms, friendly staff, but somewhat confusing check-in process.
Accommodations are very clean. The staff is friendly. Check in was easy. And decor is interesting. Only ding, which is more a personal thing then something the hotel did wrong, is the size of the room which is just enough to fit a bed.
Only ate at the restaurant. Food was ok and pricey for what we got. Good service throughout.
Exemplary service, I stay here once a quarter and have not been disappointed. They introduced a new texting service which makes communication with the front desk very convenient.
Location is very central. Hosts have been extremely nice and helpful. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Serving beer after 5:30
Great location, cool vibe. Very small room and poor internet connection. Very clean, though and pleasant staff.
Met a few friends for drinks, as soon as I sat down the bar tender was right on it! Made really good drinks also!
I've been to better hotels. Over priced and snooty people
Free beer for an hour everyday. That s all that needs to be said.
Friendly staff, cool rooms and great hotel services!
Clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. I accidentally booked a small room which is like really really small but they couldn't upgrade us because they were completely booked. Instead they gave us two complementary chocolates and a bottle of champagne. We weren't in the room very long anyway other than sleeping. We enjoyed the complementary IPAs at happy hour and the vallet parking was pretty great too. ALL staff was super friendly and accomodating. My only complaint is that there was no dairy free creamer for my coffee.
The hotel location is okay. The elevators are super small and only fit 3 people comfortably. As well the bathrooms are tiny and the smoke detector will go off if you have a hot shower just from the steam. If you have to use Hotel Max, sure go for it, but you're dollars are almost certainly better spent elsewhere.
This place is awesome!! Free beer hour every evening! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place!!!
Small but cozy and trendy hotel room. There for one night and absolutely loved it. Staff was very nice and the guy serving craft beers was extremely friendly kudos to him+! Great chatting and atmosphere. Will be back again for sure.
Very classy hotel with great accommodations. Love the free beer hour every night. They work hard to make your stay enjoyable.
Ate at the connected restaurant - The Miller's Guild. Definitely tasty pub-style food with especially delicious fries.
It's a solid place for the price. Killer customer service. Room is very tiny and outdated. Great location.
The lobby is nice and hip, but the rooms vary in quality. Each room has some unique pieces of artwork, which is a nice touch. The rooms on the 2nd floor are small and noisy whereas the ones on the 10th floor are much quieter and seemingly more clean. One problem though is that the walls are paper thin so I can hear every word the other room is saying, and I presume they can hear me.
friendly staff and good location. my room on the 4th floor was super noisy though, not the good night of sleep you'd expect.
Pretty cool hotel with a great location and cool vibe. The only negatives I have to say are the A/C is pretty weak so it could get nasty on really warm days.
It's a cute boutique hotel, and the free craft beer at happy hour is nice. On the other hand neither lamp in our room and the coffee machine we're both broken. If you're just here to sleep the room was clean and the staff are extremely nice.
Centrally located hotel with a great Seattle vibe. The hotel is small but cool. Attentive staff and I would stay here again.
Great hotel with awesome service, four stars for having thin walls.
Great staff! Austin and Alex at the front desk made my day. The doorman was always there and gave directions I really needed. The rooms were very cute and clean and the bed was really comfortable.
Stayed at the Hotel Max from Thanksgiving Day to Sunday. It was the perfect place for me. I wanted a convenient location close to downtown to walk to restaurants and shopping. My room was warm, bed was cozy and it was quiet. Many amenities in the room such as water, drinks and snacks. Nice plush robe and towels so soft. I brought my own toiletries but ended up using theirs because it was luxurious and smelt great. From the time I checked in to the time I checked out I was treated very well. I highly recommend Hotel Max!!
This is a nice little hotel. The good things about the hotel: It's well located, it's easy to reach most major tourist attractions; the staff is very friendly (as most people in Seattle); it is clean and well maintained, NO bedbugs!
The bad things: the rooms are not small, they're tiny! Everything is so small, the bathroom couldn't get any smaller. The walls are paper thin, so you can clearly hear the neighbours. And if you need silence to sleep well, this is not your place.
I may stay there again next year, but I'll probably check some other hotels first.
The rooms are small, the elevator is small, and it s a little pricey, but it s got a great atmosphere and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. It s a super funky hotel and it s in a fantastic location. Also they serve free beer from 5:30 to 6:30 every day.
There are 2 things my husband and I love: rock & roll and beer. This hotel provided both in abundance. I love the style of this hotel. It s everything I want from a hotel: funky and modern with nice people running it. I love the colour scheme and the cool art throughout the building, the Seattle Doesn t Settle logo on the wall outside and the big neon Hotel Max sign that comes on at night. It s just our kind of hotel. It's Rock & Roll crossed with Pop Art.
That said, there were people of all ages staying there, so don't be fooled by thinking this is a hotel just for young people. Everyone was very laid back and very cool.
As my husband is a huge Pearl Jam fan we asked to stay on the Sub Pop floor. )As if we need any more rock & roll in our lives !) Even though this was not possible for our whole stay, the team at Hotel Max were more than happy to move us mid-way through our stay and were so accommodating and helpful. I m sure most hotels would just say no.
We loved the FREE beer hour (music to our ears!) in the evening. Such a great idea and a pleasant surprise! As we stayed a week we got to try a vast range of beers. Tip: they re not conservative when it comes to top ups or helping you out with a second round so take advantage!
Also brilliant were the teas & coffees in reception in the morning. Although they had these facilities in the rooms it was another string to their bow and a welcome extra.
Hotel Max gets extra points for the fact that you get rewarded for being green by not having room service every day this is an issue I hold close to my heart and mark most hotels down for. Every hotel should do this!
Last, but not least is how awesome Kevin, the General Manager, was. A lovely guy, who is happy to chat and seems genuinely interested in who you are and what you re about. He is the biggest credit to this hotel. None of the rest stands up without someone decent manning the ship and Kevin is the guy.
My ONLY TINY negative point, in agreement with a few earlier comments, is the lack of suggestions from staff on where to grab a decent breakfast. The breakfast at The Miller s Guild was fantastic, but as we were staying a week, it got a bit tiresome and we wanted to try something different, but the staff didn t seem terribly clued up on other options A little research into the area you work in perhaps ? Just a small thing though!
Would we stay there again? Hell YES!
More like the Hotel Min. It's swanky, but uncomfortably cramped, especially for the price. I've been in fancier hotels that don't compromise on space...and don't require you to make a full step to access the closet or the bathroom (which is also a closet.) As my friend said, "a king bed in a queen sized room."
Really small rooms but awesome use of the space. Fun atmosphere and the bar was great. Good specialty drinks, friendly bartender.
Hotel is conveniently located! Rooms are clean and staff was nice. The free beer from 5p to 6p was great for Happy Hour! The only cons is the very small bathroom and shower in the room.
Rooms are small but comfy. Staff is friendly and accessible, expanding to even texting as an alternative to calling the front desk. Great beer selection for their beer hour and very tasteful modern decor.
Really cool hotel but the bathrooms are super tiny.
The hotel is great. Great service, great staff, turntables in the rooms. The rooms however are tiny! Hard for two people to walk side by side. Great place to stay if it's just one person or you really don't mind a sub 200 sq ft room.
Great restaurant. Rooms a bit small and overlooked by other buildings but not too big an issue
One of the worst hotels I ve ever stayed in. The only thing boutique about it are the tiny rooms and bathrooms. Heating and cooling through window units only so the rooms are constantly swampy and smell like mold/musty. House keeping turns off the units when they clean making the rooms unbearable when you return. Staff are generally rude and act like it s a bother to help you. Bathrooms smell. The whole place needs a deep cleaning and replacement of pretty much everything. If you are larger than average height or weight, be prepared to sit on the toilet in order to brush your teeth. The sink is a cross between prison sink and a stainless steel kitchen mixing bowl. Toiletries are extremely limited so better bring your own if you decide to stay here. It s surprising the beds don t vibrate since they include a bunnyjuice love hit in the box of snacks. The hotel lobby is probably the only nice thing about this hotel. Other than that it s at best a budget motel. STAY ELSEWHERE!!! You ll thank me later.
Great crew! This is our first trip to Seattle, our local friend recommended the Hotel Max, and we haven't been disappointed. Very stylish and trendy decor , the staff is extremely gracious and helpful. The rooms are slightly small, but they offer everything you will need, and it has been great for the two of us. Overall good location, good rooms, great staff. I feel this hotel truly reflects the Seattle vibe.
I wouldn't recommend this place. I stayed here before and had a completely different experience (earlier this year). This time it was awful. The room I stayed in shouldn't be rented out. The window wouldn't close all the way, the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and the bed was so incredibly uncomfortable that it caused me such bad back pain, I moved the bedding on to the floor and slept there. They have several room size options. Mini, Modern, Max. I was in the Modern and I wouldn't recommend this room to pregnant women (like me) or anyone who was on the larger size.I couldn't even imagine what the Mini is like. The bathroom is hilariously small. The shower curtain didn't reach the floor so water would spill out from under and soak the floor. It was only me and I stayed 5 nights and every single towel was used because of the water issue. When I tried to wash my face in the sink, water would splash on to the counter and all over the floor and I would hit my head on the small glass shelf above the sink. Every time I sat on the toilet I would ram my arm into the sink counter. I have a bruise from the corner. When I would shower and go to wash my feet or legs I would touch both sides of the shower (even when I tried not to).
Good things? The staff is super friendly and helpful. They offer credit to the honor bar if you skip daily housekeeping, they have coffee in the lobby every morning (which I skipped because the it tasted burned and felt it was sub par for Seattle standards), and offer a happy hour in the evening with beer (which I did not partake in since I am pregnant but saw lots of people enjoying). The location is nice and central. It's an easy walk to food, shopping and - why I stay downtown - my office. The best thing about this place is their bathrobes. It honestly is why I came back this time. They are basically a hoodie that has been elongated into a robe. Same material, style and includes a hood. I even tried to track down the manufacture and purchase one (you can purchase through the hotel I believe for $100 which I wasn't willing to spend on a robe)
Excellent location, but obviously with a price to match. Very chic atmosphere, giving the sense of a "downtown loft" more than anything.
Small room, couldn't check in until 4.30 (aparantly due to their Sunday late checkout policy) so left my phone number at reception. Did not receive a call to say the room was ready, but did receive a text message at 8am letting me know the check out time....
On check out the receptionists couldn't seperate my room extras from the main account, even though the company only pays for the room and I cover incidentals in cash. I told the lady what I'd had from the minibar snack selection, and she basically said she couldn't take my word that that was all I had taken. Then her computer system aparantly could not seperate the items from the main account bill. This hotel can't get the basics right
The hotel lobby is nice. The elevators and rooms were super tiny. When taking a shower the pipes sound like there going to bust out of the wall. The hotel location is super close to the light rail station which is way cheaper than having to pay for a Uber.
Small rooms but a really cool vibe. Very nice bar too
this hotel is really really nice. Everything looks clean and newly renovated, friendly service
Excellent staff and service. Great art work to see. We had a very small room and would not recommend that small of room for anyone. Excellent food and great bar, but very expensive.
The Hotel is very nice. Small rooms, but very cute. It's a very hipster place. It's also near the heart of Seattle, which is very nice.
My room was great, but friends who were also staying there were less enthusiastic. The front desk staff were really friendly and the daily beer and wine happy hour was a welcome amenity.
Take note: I ordered room service while I was there and got a small salmon filet (seriously, no sides came with it, just some sauce) and a glass of middling Chardonnay for $EVENTY DOLLAR$!! Yes, you read that correctly. The menu said "market price" so there was no warning until the smiling desk agent was standing there holding it with a bill. Keep in mind that the very meat-centric menu also featured a nice cut of steak for $23. No idea why salmon in the Pacific Northwest goes for 3 times the price of a steak, but be warned. You might want to steer clear.
Very hip with an artsy theme and popular with the younger crowd. Rooms are small but comfortable. Good location.
I love this place and stay there whenever it s not full and the price isn t crazy. Cool punk rock vibe with some rooms offering a turn table and records. The rooms aren t fancy or large but I always feel at home here. They have great snacks and the service is always excellent. The restaurant downstairs is also excellent and the hotel does a happy hour with local craft brews each day for guests.
Very friendly and helpful staff. They welcomed me like royalty!
The hotel is fairly nice. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I found the bathroom a little on the small side.
Love the max! Rooms are a little small because it's a historic building but that's what's neat about it. Very cool vibe about this hotel.
awesome location and friendly staff. it's easy to get to and easy to leave. parking at the hotel is a big plus. The room was a little small but for the price and the location I would stay here again defiantly.
They're alright, but it's kind of a weird hipster boutique hotel.
Breakfast here is A+ On the pricey side but good quality breakfast.
Averaged room and very very small bathroom. Splash from the faucet wets the bathroom floor, had to wipe the floor with toilet tissue every time I use water. Must be better place to stay with same money.
It s located in a corner of very busy crossing if you want quiet night sleep, not suitable.
The staff in any position were extremely nice that counts.
The staff was friendly and there's a happy hour in the lobby that serves free beer. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, but my biggest gripe was with the shower! It's about as big as an airplane bathroom, and the water pressure was really low, AND the drain was clogged!! Could not really enjoy my stay without being able to take a nice hot shower at the end of my day.
Great location, great service! Beds are comfortable and they have pretty good amenities too (like renting Shinola bikes!)
Super hotel, chic and wonderfully well located in the center of Seattle. Between Amazon and the city center. 10 minutes walk from Pike Market.
Design and trendy.
Beer is offered to customers on Fridays in 5 @ 7 format, which makes getting to know each other.
The restaurant, in the lobby, is perfect for eating well oh have a drink but there are also fantastic cafes, wine bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk around.
A great place to use as a base while walking around downtown Seattle. Rooms are cozy but well appointed and staff were great.
Great location and staff. Walking distance to the convention center as well as restaurants and shops
Awesome hotel. The all you can drink craft beer hour is
Hotel Max is a trendy boutique hotel which is very centrally located in downtown Seattle. The Link lightrail station at Pine Street is very closeby and it will take you directly to the SeaTac airport (or vice versa). No need for taxis or Ubers as you can easily use the public transport or just walk to all main locations in Seattle.
The Queen Modern room is still relatively small but with some planning you can even find a decent place to keep 2 large suitcases open all the time.
Despite the fact it s in the middle of the city, the level of outside noise was low enough to have a good night rest.
The hotel offers a discount when you indicate that they don t need to clean the room during your stay. In fact it s a credit which can be used to cover your expenses in the hotel. Think twice to accept this offer as the next-door restaurant is pretty expensive.
The hotel does offer every evening free beer from one of the local breweries, between 6 & 7pm. That s really nice and very popular with the hotel guests.
In the morning there s also freshly brewed coffee available for the guests.
A good start of the day , before going out for breakfast. We chose the nearby Cherry Street Coffee House in Olive Way to have our daily bagel.
Cool hotel. Bathroom is tiny though. Best parking around! People are fabulous. Restaurant next door is super tasty but super expensive. Needed a microwave and coffee maker.
I spent a week here for training at work. There was free beer there every day which helped with getting it a 3 star rating but the room was tiny and for a bigger guy like myself the shower was uncomfortable. The staff was really friendly and helpful. But for the price I paid for the room there should have been at least free breakfast from the restaurant.
If you want a posh surrounding and feel pampered while you're visiting you definitely want to check out the Hotel Max
Great hotel, great location to visit all destinations. :-)
Sparse amenities, "hipster" atmosphere, beds are a bit too hard for my tastes, expensive for what you get. That being said, they have the largest televisions I've ever seen at a hotel, and very good staff
Tiny bathrooms and can be noisy if you're on the lower floors...
Great location to walk to pretty much all the major tourist spots and two block walk to the metro and transit stations. Staff was very helpful and the room had everything I needed. Bed was comfortable, pillows were good. Craft beer hour was a blast. Would stay here again for sure.
Very sweet hotel. Unique experience and will do again.
Excellent service, world class art & photograpgy, comfy bed, top notch restaurant and free gumballs!
This hotel is so rock and roll! From free beer to the murals, it kept us entertained and well taken of. Loved it!
Pros: Central location, professional staff, clean rooms, free WiFi. However, some of the rooms are noisy, and perhaps show the age of the building. My room had a loud thumping sound from the ventilation system.
Rooms are cozy, and very aesthetically pleasing. Lots of nice amenities.
Happy hour free micro brew beer! I requested a record player and listened to music which really set the atmosphere. Awesome!
