The original historical hotel in Surabaya. This is the ground zero of Surabaya war againts the Dutch in 1940s. This is the place where Dutch's flag of red - white - blue was torn to be red & white, the Indonesian flag.

This hotel is almost as original as it once opened in 1910. AMAZING!

I stayed here once long time ago. The room was like it was back in the day in early 1900's. The room rate is worth it for a 5 star.

Extremely beautiful! You can't say you have visited Surabaya if you have not visit this hotel.

Highly recommended!

Great classic hotel. These days it is the same room wherever you stay in the world. Colonial building with patio and taste. The breakfast was very delicious. Especially coffee is good.
Unfortunately, the cleaning is not well done. The interior is based on wood, so it's hard, but pride remains in every corner. Maintenance around the water is not good either. If left unattended, a classic hotel could become a rag hotel.
The concierge was very good.

Faded elegance at its very best. Built in 1910, this must have been a world class hotel. It is still a delight. Gracious staff, enormous rooms, silky soft bed linens. Everything is just a little worn, but clean and comfortable. (great mattress) Just walking through the arcades and gardens is a pleasure. Highly recommended.

A very historic hotel especially for the people of Surabaya and the Indonesian nation in general ... Colonial-style hotels that are still maintained until now ... are located in a very strategic location on the very famous Tunjungan road with the program 'I know-I am Nang Tunjungan'
The hotel is close to the Shopping Center which until now is the largest in Surabaya in the center of the city ... namely Tunjungan Plaza.
Recommended to be visited especially to be able to stay here while being able to feel the colonial atmosphere that reminds of the past with a different romanticism.

Hotel Majapahit is a hotel that contains historical value. Initially this building was the hotel where the incident of the red and white flag when the Japanese colonial era was called the Yamato hotel. This hotel has been renovated but still leaves some architecture that has never been changed to remember its historical value. This hotel is pretty cool. Located in the Surabaya city section of the Tunjungan road. Parking space is quite extensive. The rooms and facilities are very good. Recommended.

Hotel Majapahit is a historic luxury hotel on Jala...

Hotel Majapahit is a historic luxury hotel on Jalan Tunjungan, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Formerly it was called LMS, then Hotel Oranje and then Hotel Yamato and also Hotel Hoteru. Currently, the Majapahit Hotel which was built in 1910 by the Sarkies Brothers from Armenia has turned into a five-star luxury hotel with a total of 143 rooms on the first and second floors. This hotel was managed by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group from 1993 to 2006. In 2006, this hotel was acquired by PT Sekman Wisata. Most of the original buildings of the hotel can still be seen today, although some of the outbuildings and some elements of the interior have been renovated.

One of the moments of struggle at this hotel occurred on September 19, 1945, namely the Flag Incident. The incident began when a group of Dutch people led by Mr. Ploegman raised the Red and White Blue flag at the top to the right of the hotel. The Indonesian fighters broke the blue color of the Dutch flag, which was red, white and blue, thus the flag became red and white, namely the flag of the Republic of Indonesia. The flag incident also resulted in the killing of Mr. Ploegman.

This is one of the five star hotels in Surabaya that is very unique. Colonial building since 1910 and located in the middle of the city feels like an oasis in the middle of the city of Heroes. With 5-star service and facilities guaranteed, if staying here will be very memorable. Besides that, it can be used for pre-wedding photos with beautiful garden garden background and Dutch colonial buildings. In addition, it can also hold weddings or other parties. This hotel has a history that is very closely related to Arek2 Surabaya's struggle where the events of the 1945 Dutch flag tearing occurred at this hotel. Besides that, it also has the largest 1 room Presidential Suite in Southeast Asia and has been inhabited by several important figures in the archipelago and the world.
