I chose the iftar buffet package at the Majapahit Hotel. The price is quite affordable for 5 star hotels, the menu choices are diverse, tastes good and there is live music

stayed there in Sep 2014..
very nice old building with cool garden..
the room I stayed was very spacious and furnished with some 'antiques' furniture..
public area is decorated nicely with many antiques..
the breakfast was excellent..
the location is perfect - just across Tunjungan Plaza - one of the largest mall in Surabaya..
many says the hotel is spooky but I experienced nothing spooky during my stay..
would definitely stay there again.. especially if I get special rate :-D

When the expansion of the building moves vertically, the hotel feels ciamsoo because he is in the middle of the city, only two floors, and luaas! It feels like Annelies Mellema.

The first time I went into the lobby and saw the interior design directly in the heart "wow happy". The vintage feel is very thick. No, it's not a fear of horror that I feel, but it actually feels lucky to be able to feel like being in European buildings without having to go far away. Especially when entering the room "Balai Adika" the ceiling interior is classy vintage, making a cozy baget atmosphere.

It turns out that all this time I've only been talking about what the hotel is saying about the obscene news.
Yeah, horror. Horror again for the staycation here haha

Staying here feels like returning to the colonial era. Not only the building is historic, the interior also leads us to reminisce back to old times. About food, not bad. The view is good when it's cool, cmn is a bit scary ...

nice affordable breakfast buffet, excellent taste, exquisite service, it's an old historic 5-stars hotel, but I think some renovations needed. Overall, still deserve a 5star rating from me.

there is a small canteen in the corner of the basement parking, usually surrounded by drivers and staffs. Just in case you are a cheapo and don't want to spend your money on hotel's drinks like me.

It is a sanctuary and not mere hotel. Lies in city center so it was easy to go to everywhere in Surabaya although you must consider that public transport is not Surabaya plus side but if you can afford this hotel who needs public transport anyway ? Staffs are ok food is ok too but I warn you if you re not sun worshipper don t take breakfast outside dining room. Perhaps only accesiblity for disable person that discourage the guest but the hotel was built around 100 years ago with no mind for accessibility

USED to be Hotel Oranje in Dutch colonial era, here on September 19th 1945, a month after the Declaration of Independence the Dutch flag still waving above the hotel. The Surabayan took down the flag and ripped the blue part leaving the red and white as Indonesian national flag.

The old building are well preserved so the ambience of old Dutch colonial era still there.
