A spectacular hotel with all the luxuries that one imagines and more. Own beach, catamaran rental, scuba diving, tour. It also has three day buffets, and five restaurants with reservations for the night. The theater is a spectacular place at a professional and technical level. in this place you will never be thirsty since it has 8 soda fountains and three cocktail bars. Truly an incredible place

Beautiful grounds with "jungle" in the middle. Great food. Excellent service.

We were there twice. In 2000 and 2006/2007. Last time we stayed three, instead of two weeks. That was a good thing, because we needed a week to get used to the climate. As a normal Central Europeans that was necessary :) The facility and organization (for example excursions) are well thought out and therefore recommendable. Also the service and the quality of the food is right. All in all, you can highly recommend the hotel area. If we can, we would like to book again. This time, however, with our two children, which we did not have then :)

Nice resort, with friendly staff. The rooms were nice, though a tiny bit dated. The food was good, with lots of selection for everyone. The pool was great, but it was very tough to get seats around it without getting there by 7:00 AM.

Excellent attention and quality. There would be more information about the available activities, and schedules of remains and buffets. The cordiality of all the staff members make you feel at home, despite wearing warm uniforms for those temperatures. The effort and care in removing the algae make them almost unnoticed.

Never have been at an all inclusive resort before and I am impressed. Beach was great. Pool looks great but I only used the beach. Staff were helpful but the 5 restaurants required reservations and they fill up fast so reserve them as soon as you can. Rooms are nice and clean.

Wonderful Hotel. It has a jungle and incredible wildlife. Ideal for those who have children but also for couples. Beautiful restaurants and its beautiful beach. The staff really strives to serve. All very attentive.

I have been to this hotel three times and the last stay I did it with my two adult daughters. The third night we went to dinner at the Mediterraneo restaurant, my wife and my two daughters had the same dish, based on salmon, the next day all three got sick to their stomach, one of them ending in a local clinic due to severe dehydration. by stomach infection. Given the complicated health situation of my two daughters and my wife, I requested a late check out, to which they respond that they are 100% sold. I asked to pay one more night for a room, to which they replied that it was not possible either. In short, I had to leave the hotel the night before, change all the flights, and pay more than US $ 1,450 in fines.
Worse, they did NOT acknowledge that the food from the aforementioned restaurant had been the cause of my wife and daughters' stomach ailments, acknowledging that we never left the hotel to eat something outside the premises.
My departure was for May 28 and I should have left on May 27.
The public relations manager agreed to give me an answer, which I am still waiting for.

Nice Hotel, it is big, it has a small jungle inside with wild animals. The rooms are comfortable, there are some with good location and others not so much.
Breakfast is from 8 to 10 which makes it difficult to stay a while longer.
Dinner tb is only until 22

Beautiful hotel. Delicious breakfast and food. The open bar is very varied and all the drinks very well prepared. The snak is all fresh and delicious. If you want a place with a palapa on the beach, it is better to find it early. All the amazing attention.

Some of these reviews that rave about how good this place is have to be fake. I'm here right now and it's just ok. The beach buffets are horrible, except for the burgers. The main buffet is mediocre at best. Part of the problem is that all the buffets are open air and the food does not hold up well in the heat and humidity.

Across the board, even in the restaurants, the food quality is subpar and the end result is bland, uninteresting food. They have a wood fired oven for pizza but it's undercooked and not even as good as many of the frozen brands available at home. We'll try their Japanese venue tonight.

On a positive note, the rooms nice and it does have a wide, clean, white sand beach. The water is beautiful and the staff, with the exception of the front desk at check in, is very friendly.

A large water feature, stocked with fish and turtle or two, meanders through the property. You can stroll along multiple paths through a little jungle between the main building and the beach, even get a massage there, and view peacocks, flamingos, howler monkeys and other animals.

Overall, this would be a much better a resort with just bit more effort and attention to the food.

If what you want is to spend your stay in Playa del Carmen in a quiet place, quality, with a pleasant attention, all the services included and the security that a privileged location offers at a competitive price, Iberostar is the option par excellence!

I would highly recommend Iberostar Tucan Hotel This hotel is 5 stars. The food was amazing, the customer service was extremely responsive. The rooms was very clean (bed was a little hard then we like, but CLEAN), always meeting the needs of their guest. Even though smoking is permitted on property (not in rooms), you couldn't smell it. They cleaned up that very well. The public bathrooms were always spotless, even at the beach and pool area. If I were ever to go back to Mexico, no questions asked would go back here. Always trying to keep quest entertained and busy including young ones. Very tight well oiled run ship.

A great service !!! The mentality and hospitality of the Mexicans is outstanding and incomparable. Some European hosts can cut a big slice! In short, super nice area with everything you need on holiday! 100% recommendation !!!

Beautiful stay! We spend the best vacations with the family, the hotel is fantastic and the service is unbeatable. Very good restaurants and staff always thinking about having fun. It also has a huge park with animals, even peacocks are seen. Incredible!!!

The resort location and idea is perfect. Its built around a jungle in the middle which includes various friendly wildlife. The check-in was a pain since we had a family of 8 people and they checked us into a suite which had only 2 rooms so we had to take our bags back to the lobby which is quite the walk and get checked into different rooms which took a very long time. The food is average, I honestly expected better since everytime I left the resort I enjoyed the food outside. Beach is great, clear waters and white sands. We struggled to get areas to sit as most were taken around the beach and the pool. The beach towel situation needs to be improved, you are given one towel card per adult from which you can only get 1 beach towel, so in case you wanted to go to the beach then to the pool you would have to go back to the towel guy and change towels. A simple thing like towels shouldnt be limited. The room cleanings were very good, our room was always left very tidy and clean. I enjoyed the resort but will not be a repeat guest. Thanks.

This hotel is beautifully situated within walking distance of playa del carman.
Rooms are spacious and clean,my room was 1130 which very close to the pool and the beach.
Food was excellent and plenty of choice,even for those with children. Staff are very attentive and polite.
Facilities are fabulous with a wide range of activities from Zumba to riffle shooting.
The hotel is in lovely setting,every morning we walked through the small jungle to breakfast and saw the Monkeys,peacocks and various other animals just wondering around.The beach is gorgeous and there was very little seaweed on it.
If you fancy a stroll along the beach for about 30 minutes,it takes you to Playa del Carman.
There are lots of shops,bars and restaurants on 5th Avenue. If you don't fancy walking back after too many tequila's you can catch a taxi for only 100 Mexican peso's!
Highly recommended this hotel for families,kids club and evening entertainment was of a high standard.

Iberostar was amazing. The staff and the food were pretty good. This is a great place to take kids the pool is very spacious. They havea lot of activities going on throughout the day to do on the resort. They also have a bunch of animals wondering around the resort that you can walk around and look at. I would definitely come back again.

Beach, jungle, all inclusive in 5 themed restaurants, family atmosphere, shows, bars ... non-invasive activities for those who are going to rest ... spa, gym, excursions ... there are no pool tables, only 2

Very good place, careful in every detail. Take into account for the elderly or with ailments that you have up to the second floor without an elevator.
Highly recommended I would go back without hesitation.

Animation and entertainment team was amazing specially ovidio mr flowers Fer and javier all the activities were so fun and the shows were amazing specially the dancers. It was just amazing.

Excellent service and without a doubt a unique hotel, it has it all.
The food is very good and the facilities are in good condition, I would definitely stay at this magnificent hotel again.

Resort geared towards families and couples. Not enough activities within the resort for teens or early twenty somethings. Rooms are adequate, quiet, and include a generously sized safe box. No drawers in our room, but we managed very well with shelves. Furnishings are a bit dated. In-room A/C is very good, with adequate temperature control. Staff is very friendly throughout the resort.
Buffet restaurant is probably the best within the resort, theme restaurants are just fair. Night shows are entertaining. Beach is good, clean, as are the pools. There are daily activities organized such as table tennis, tennis, volleyball, pool dancing, and other. Tennis, kayaks, and catamarans are free for guests (must prove proficiency to take out a catamaran).

Situation, environment full of nature, near the shopping center, very good attention of the staff and 2 very good restaurants: the southern and the Italian.

She was very happy to have chosen this hotel for my holidays, highly recommended everything excellent !!!

Beautiful place, especially for me because I love animals and they fit so well with the atmosphere here.
Major issues though, drinks were EXTREMELY watered down. I'd say only 10% alcohol in their bottles. Also some very rude receptionists! I never got a straight answer as to what those motion lights/ camera was doing in the bathroom though

Not happy. Everything I read online and what was included so far was a lie, the food is not at all the best, it took 45 minutes to get checked in as we were the only ones. Mini bar no such thing in my room, no tv channels are English, the showers don t even make sense. All around not coming here again

Invceible experience, incredible attention. All and all to our total presentation 24 hours.
The only thing I didn't like was that there are some cages with some animals. That is not necessary, there are already many animals typical of the local fauna that roam freely around the hotel. But out of that all excellent!

Excellent wonderful place excellent service ..... an Iberostar better than other all excellent!

First off my daughter has a severe nut allergy and this resort accommodated to every her need when it came to ensuring her nut free food. Margarita,, the main chef , came out and spoke to my daughter personally at every meal and asked what she wanted to eat. She even made her special dessert. Margarita was just fabulous and I can't thank her enough for the special treatment she gave my daughter. As far as the resort goes, it is a vey nice resort, the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Besides my daughter's special meals, the food is typical all-inclusive resort buffet food, some good, some not so good. This place has some fun activities during the day. Beach area is AWESOME no rocks or seaweed, just clear blue water and soft sand. We have been here before and will stay again in the future.

We just came back from a week-long stay at Iberostar Tucan. We have two sons - 5 and 2 years old - and they loved it. It was our first time in Mexico and we are definitely considering coming back to Iberostar Tucan next year. The staff were very professional, pools were nice, and the room was very spacious. We also liked the food.

The only minor issue we had was the refrigerator in our room wouldn't keep the beverages cold. There were no settings we could adjust.

The hotel gave us a room on the first floor near the pool knowing that we have two little ones - I thought they were being very considerate. The shows were great too. Our 5-year old kept asking us to see the show every night.

On our flight back home, our 5-year old told us that he really enjoyed the vacation and it really touched us. Thanks to everyone at Iberostar Tucan who made this a memorable vacation for us.

Beautiful place a lot of tranquility and a lot of nature

The friendliest and fastest service I have ever experienced. Some servants literally read your wish from your lips. You are very accommodating, but in a positive way.
The pool could be a bit cooler.
The themed restaurants are first class, as is the number of "beverage outlets".
If you want the best waiter in the hotel, ask for * Samuel * (he's mostly in the * Tulum * restaurant (in the Iberostar Tucan)). He is the nicest, most courteous and best waiter I have ever experienced.

This hotel is amazing!! This is my third stay here and I have never been disappointed! The staff are great and can never do enough to make your stay comfortable. The star friends entertainment team are all wonderful: Gilberto, Jefte, Luis and Gabrielle the new manager are great but the 'star' is Karlos who is just the best- he remembered us from last time and is so friendly and fun. Victor from Fit and Fun is amazing (his workouts do push you and my muscles ached after). They come round and encourage you to try the activities but you only do as much or as little as you want. Mariela down at the pool bar is just so wonderful, very attentive and always there to bring you drinks. She's great! Al in the Tucan bar is also amazing... he even gets our drinks ready for us as we go up to archery at the same time and pick up a drink know on the way. The food is varied and always something great to eat. Ice cream down by the pool is always spot on. The rooms are good, comfortable beds and the mini bar is a blessing. Showers can be a little temperamental but otherwise the bathroom is great. I can't wait to be back!!

A good hotel, however, I would not recommend it. The beach is very good one of the best I've gotten, the treatment to the guests is excellent. The food is the bad thing, so much food and drink leave much to be desired, all the preparations that take were bad, until the coffee; breakfasts and meals are the same every day, there are no changes and they are regular / good without much variety.

It is a beautiful place, the people are very friendly and it is the only hotel that has a jungle. 100% recommended family or couple.

I expected less from this hotel, It is magnificent, everything perfect.
If you like nature and animals, this is your place, because it is a mixture of it and the super nice and attentive employees.
It is all in detail and many activities for children and adults.

The hotel is amazing. Super nice staff, a very nice beach and also a very large pool area. The food was varied and always good. You could always choose between different restaurant. The room was also very good, unfortunately we had no sockets on the bed. The bathroom was very nice and especially big. On the balcony we had almost daily visit from the monkeys, who have driven around on the hotel grounds.

The best thing about the hotel is its staff. A 10. The ideal facilities. Located at comfortable distances for cultural visits in the area. Chichen Itza, the farthest to something more than two hours. I want to play the lottery and return there and stay to live!
