Simply perfect, from the staff, to the rooms, to the services.
A lovely hotel in the centre of a big luxurious shopping area of central Rome. Staff are very polite and dealt with our requests. Room service was prompt and quality of food was very good (wouldn't say phenomenal, but very good). They offered a free interactive phone guide of Rome which was very useful.
I will say that not having air con is a huge disadvantage though. Luckily we visited in the autumn so it was just mildly uncomfortable but I can imagine it's unbearable in the summer as the rooms are small and open windows do not get much air flow as it's central Rome so buildings everywhere. They did provide a fan, but due to no cold air circulation it wasn't great for a 5 star hotel with big price tags.
The hotel is worthless, nothing works there, the only good thing is the friendliness of the staff but I have to exclude the doorman who is a crook, never let him get a cab for u...
grossly overcharged for the 3 days we stayed with you from aug 30-sept2. at $600 per night we expected so much more.. every night the a/c would stop working; the shower pan would overflow on to the floor: $10 charge for nuts in little glass jars that should have been complimentary[that s the case in every other luxury hotel]. this is not a luxury hotel, you just charge like it is---we certainly get better value in a nice marriott hotel. i do have to compliment the courteous staff....they just seemed constrained as to what they could offer us in the way of compensation for the issues listed above.

Traveling from Texas to Italy for the first time we stayed only at Starhotel properties. The hotels are 5 star and the service is 6 stars. I will always stay in the Starhotel when available due to the comfort of receiving a high level of service and that all my questions will always be answered with solutions provided. Amazing Experience!!
Perfect location, in the heart of Rome!
The hotel is classic, fancy, still some details are getting old. The rooms are quite small but clean and cozy.
The breakfast was good.
The restaurant is good, has a nice street terrace.
The hotel staff was kind and helpful.
We would love to go back!
Overall, this is an excellent hotel. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The reception staff were particularly helpful in dealing with Citalia regarding the failure of a tour guide to turn up.
My only quibble would be with the breakfast area - this is far too small and always feels overcrowded. On our last day, there were no tables free and we had to have breakfast outside. I would recommend converting one of the lounges to an additional breakfast area.
best regards
Michael Brooks
Great location and junior suite. The suite is very spacious and comfortable. However, I had a problem with the staff's attitude. They are not friendly and not helpful.
For the heart of Rome you cannot do better. They need to totally redo the restaurant menu. Very boring.
Every single staff member that we encountered during our 7 day stay was extremely professional and courteous. The mattress (Room 378) was the best I've ever used. Only one small suggestion: makeup mirrors in the bathrooms wold be most helpful.
The smallest room in the world. So small that I had to put the suitcase in the bathtub (to call it somehow) and I paid about 500 euros a night. Only suitable for those who wish to feel like in the punishment cells of Alcatraz. It's not a hotel, it's a tease.
In the interest of full disclosure we were provided a nice room upgrade on arrival (to a jr. suite), but even without it, our stay at the Hotel d'Inghilterra would still have been in my top three hotel experiences, and that includes 35+ years of business and vacation travel. The staff was friendly and attentive, we were given a short tour on the way to our room and were made to feel very much 'at home' right away. The facilities are charming and comfortable, the location is perfect (5 minutes from the Spanish Steps and within a 15 minute walk of many of the most beautiful sites in Central Rome), and I simply can't imagine being anywhere else for my first time in Rome. The front desk and concierge staff were first-rate - we were treated like visiting relatives rather than paying customers - and they always managed to anticipate our needs and desires. Everything from dinner suggestions and reservations to directions and help communicating with a glass gallery in Venice was handled quickly, clearly and with great style! The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the room was quiet and cozy. All in all this was a fabulous experience and I can't thank the staff enough for their friendliness and service. We will definitely be back!
Just a very beautiful hotel. Everyone was very nice even during the busy check in time. Would have loved to have stayed longer.
A bit outdated for my taste, however it was about the location. Service was ok and they did try to assist as most possible under the COVID circumstances.
Exceptional service from the moment we walked in until we waved good bye.
The hotel, astoundingly considered a five star, is horribly rundown, filthy, and extraordinary overpriced. The owner(s) must hate people, there's no other explanation for the contempt they show their guests by charging the amount they do for two star accommodations at best. Upon check in to our double superior my wife and I booked for $450 Euro we found our headboard covered in foul stains, the ancient a/c not functioning, the room looked like it hadn't updated in fifty years. Shocking. To the front desk's credit they moved us to a junior suite when they saw the pictures on my phone (this only after first trying to cover the headboard with a sheet!). I'll say one positive thing, the staff, they were nice and really tried, but we could tell they were frustrated and slightly embarrassed. I will never recommend this hotel and will use it as an example of Rome's uneven and shoddy hotel choices, yours of which might have been romantic fifty years ago, but today is an infuriating tourist trap to be avoided.
Very nice counter staff, the service is very good, the location is invincible
We had an amazing stay in Rome. The staff was amazing. We had difficulties getting there and our luggage didn't make it on time as a result. They were very helpful and communicated with the airline on our behalf so that we could enjoy our trip. They gave us some kits that had all the essentials so that we didn't need to rebuy everything. We were there on our honeymoon and they had a bottle of champagne and some treats waiting for us in our room. Very helpful with procuring taxis and tips on where to eat and so forth. I highly recommend this amazing property!
Incredible service from the door to the impeccable room, charming hotel, very knowledgeable staff and host. Very comfortable room, delicious breakfast. Felt at home.
All perfect. The hotel is beautiful and is located in one of the best areas of Rome, a step away from the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon ... All the staff is super friendly, friendly, etc ... I recommend it without a doubt . And if we return to Rome, of course, I will return to this hotel. Thanks a lot for everything.
Beautiful place we had a great time. The only thing wrong was the scrambled eggs were too cold and you could do with some double glazing because it was very noisy at 7.00am.
But it was a brilliant hotel. Also the mobile phone worked a very good idea.
The staff, especially the Front Desk and Concierge staff were magnificent. They were fantastic with recommendations and advice. We had a superb time. The hotel was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed.
The hotel is amazing, staff is friendly and rooms are very nice.
Location is great, close to many interesting places in this beautiful city.
Breakfast is good, nothing fancy but plenty.
Overall hotel details make it a very nice place to stay.
WE SPENT ONE NIGHT AT THE HOTEL, AND IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. THE HOTEL IS UNIQUE AND THE LOCATION IS THE BEST. WE HAD THE CHANCE TO HAVE DINNER AT CAFE ROMANO RESTAURANT AND TEH GASTRONOMY IS EXCELLENT.
We checked in for two nights, this is my first time to Rome, the experience with this hotel is really bad. Everything is old and not clean, the elevator is small and shaking, the wifi can never connected for iPhone, the towels smell bad, the hot water can't adjust temperature, it's too cold! The worst part is the employees, they need more training, the guy bring our luggages to our room, sighed when he walk out because we didn't give him tip, but we were too busy unpacking...anyway the hotel is overpriced, we chose this because the location, but we should've chosen other hotel for a better holiday experience.
Great Hotel near the attractions Spanish Steps - 5 min walk, Trevi Fountain - 10 min walk. Staff are very helpful and a pleasure to speak to.
We will be coming back at some point.
beautiful superior room, the hotel is a superior 4 stars, has no additional services, but is very well located and comfortable
They are already several times that I stay in this hotel and everything works perfectly. Great kindness, very comfortable rooms and high level service. Very good breakfast
Excellent service, friendly and accommodating staff, delicious breakfast and ideal central location. some of the rooms need updating.
Noble 5-star hotel in a very good, central location. Nice staff, the rooms are in the historic building a little small and mostly equipped with antique furniture. Very clean, only with the plumbing, you have a few drawbacks due to the age of the building make, so remains for example the water temperature is not constant. Good, but with 18 euros quite expensive cocktails in the bar. I take off a star, because at check-in my reservation was not initially found and I had to wait about 30 minutes until the problem was solved. In addition, the selection of the very good quality breakfast for the price of over 30 euros per person too poor.
I would pass on this one. Dirty rooms. No irons in the whole hotel and they charge 20 euro to iron one. The rooms were cramped and filthy. The hotel was supposed to give us $50 food and bev credit and failed to do so and will not do it now that we are checked out.
Furthermore, i had them dry clean my very expensive shirts. They washed and dried (dry clean only) 7 of them and ruined them all. They will now fit my 14 year old. Again, no help from them to remedy this.
Star hotels have really let this place go. The only thing redeeming about the hotel was how nice the bartenders were.
I stayed at Ihillterra hotel more then 30 times, and I can't imagine, that I can change this wonderfull p ace for another.Fantastic staff, discret and helpfull. Now it is my Home .
We had a very satisfactory and enjoyable stay at the Hotel L Ingilterra in Rome. The staff were gracious and very professional and we felt welcome, comfortable and well looked after throughout our stay. The location and room wer excellent and We ll be sure to stay here again on our next trip to Rome.
At least one room is a squeeze (this would have put a damper on the experience), but we were moved to a much better sized room without fuss. Everything else was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay.
I believe that yours is the best Star Hotel we have visited. The staff was warm, welcoming, helpful, and highly professional. The location and the quality of the rooms was perfect during our stay. We did not receive this quality of service from the HASSLER and the De La Ville. Thank you to the Francescas, the outstanding concierge, and all the staff. It is just wonderful to stay in a hotel that brings alive the lost art of hospitality.
Room was nice and clean. Staff was very kind and helpfull. Restaurant was excellent. The location was ideal : near the good shops and important monuments.
The Hotel d'Inghilterra is the perfect hotel in Rome. The location, price and great customer service make it an excellent value! You are steps from the best shopping and restaurants, yet far enough away from the tourists sites and train station so you don't have that sketchy, tourist feel.
The rooms are nicely decorated and the nightly turn-down is a special touch. I wish the television had more English-speaking channels, but I wasn't in Rome to sit and watch tv so it was not a big deal.
The staff truly makes this hotel a wonderful experience! Thank you for a wonderful stay in Rome. We cannot wait to return again one day soon!
Loved the location. The room was well appointed and nicely appointed and serviced. The bar was great.
I couldn't open the door of the room by myself, so I always had a cleaning lady help me.
Love this hotel. The location is ideal it is in the middle of everywhere you want to be but tucked away a bit so that it is peaceful outside the front door. The staff is first rate and provides warm, welcoming service consistantly. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful. If there is a negative, it is that the rooms are not very large - even by Rome standards - and the furnishings could use some freshening up. Still, my favorite in Rome.
Everything about the hotel is perfect. Second time staying here and when we visit Rome again, we will certainly be staying here again.
A classy hotel with splendid interiors and a staff that is always up to par.
A historic house that was once invaded by pseudo-millionaires
We enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect. The shower left something to be desired in that it was difficult to use without inconvenience. Difficult to read in bed as the lighting was so low even with all the lights on. However, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Many thanks to the staff for their work in looking after us. The buffet breakfast was as good as we have ever enjoyed.
Great location. Great service. About 15 euro cab ride to Vatican Museum. Rooms need some updating...I do not like carpet in hotel rooms.
The hotel is in the center of Rome and therefore close to all the most important tourist sites, very welcoming not only in terms of structure, rooms and furnishings but also all the staff, always very kind, helpful and smiling. An excellent quality / price combination worthy of belonging to the SLH.
I will definitely in my future trips to Rome
Good reception, very responsive staff.
We reported a leak in the bathroom, on our return they had moved us to another room as the leak was not immediately repairable.
Very generous breakfast, only downside, the eggs / bacon too fatty.
The rooms are very nice with high ceilings. Very nice bathroom nicely decorated in marble.
Another thing, I am very sensitive to noise so if you are like me, bring bowls if not, you will have trouble sleeping.
This hotel is located in the beautiful areas in the city center. There are quite a few monuments nearby.
Beautiful hotel. Staff were OUTSTANDING! Great location - centrally located to almost all of Rome's attractions. Restaurant was outstanding as well.
Hotel in an old building, but there are all the amenities and services of a 5 star hotel.
The buffet very good rooms good and with air conditioning, a good stay
Great food, but drinks prices at the stables .... 1 Fanta: 7 euros
I want to be amember of the I am star program. I was impressed with many of your staff but I want to nominate the concierge Maximo as outstanding
I forgot an item in my room that cannot be replaced and as soon as I realized it I called the hotel to report it. I never received an answer on it even though I called twice to speak with someone. They told me they would speak with housekeeping and let me know. It wasn't until I reached out to my travel agent who reached to them that apparently the General Manager got involved and I received a proper although unsatisfactory response via email. I don't think I will ever stay here again; for the price I can find better service and accommodations somewhere else in Rome.
Small but elegant and central in the city. I advise
Hotel is located within heart of Rome's designer shopping area, close to the Spanish Steps and roughly equidistant from the Vatican and the Forum/Colosseum, both of which are a c.30 minute walk away.
Standards of service, cleanliness and decor are all very high.
We had only a few relatively minor niggles, which included incorrectly wired lighting within our room - which was not fixed despite being reported several times during our stay. No big deal, but the TV channels were a bit limited and did not correlate with the guide provided.
Also be aware that, depending on where your room is, the daily pre-dawn emptying of bins into Rome's mini-dustcarts can be very loud - certainly enough to wake you if you are anything but a very heavy sleeper.
Also odd was the floor covering in our room, which was ruggedly corrugated to the point of being painful to walk on barefoot.
I know this is going to sound mean-spirited, but whilst the hotel makes very effective use of mirrors in its public areas, the impact of this was lessened by many of the mirrors (which were not obviously antique) requiring re-silvering.
Against these points, however, must be set the overall charm and character of the hotel and quality of the staff, who were outstanding. Reception staff were particularly helpful in providing advice and guidance. Doormen were also very good.
We did not dine in during our stay, but breakfast was excellent and the ability to use the street-side seating as a bar for a nightcap was also very good.
Overall i would say that this was a good experience, though I think the hotel is pushing it slightly with the "International Jet Set" referencing...
Would I recommend? Yes.
Kind staff, great placement, spacious rooms, and very delicious food. I would definitely come back.
I find that the price is high for what it is ... in the restaurant there are only 5 dishes in total and the rooms are not like on the website. Hotel
Bellman greeted us, he was great through our entire stay. Entire staff could not have been better. WE stayed there a few years ago and had forgotten what a really nice Hotel it is. WE have been to Rome almost every year for as long as I can remember. I can't believe I sort of forgot about your Hotel. I'll never visit Rome again and not stay at your Hotel.
The hotel is centrally located in the center of Rome. It is within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon. There are also very nice little shopping boutiques nearby. Euro clothes. Also, for a short cab ride, there is a local theatre to enjoy a play.
Overall, I enjoyed staying at this hotel, the staff were very accommodating.
The Hotel D Inghilterra Roma is charming and historic, with a convenient location.
Wonderful bed and dining linens. Great breakfast buffet.
What pushes this hotel to truly excellent is the genuine hospitality of the service staff.
Saskia and her front desk were always incredibly accommodating. Stefano with his big smile and warm greetings every morning, oversaw every little detail of the dining guests was met. Angelo's enthusiasm and mixology flourishes served up some spectacular cocktails.
We spent five nights here and felt loved! We will definitely be back!
Five Stars *****
what a wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. excellent amenities and decor. updated bathrooms, bedroom, sitting area furniture. would totally recommend to anyone visiting Rome.
Air Condition on coldest setting was inadequate. Carpet was severely stained and appeared dirty. Paint was chipped on trim and mini-bar. Bathroom so small that it would only accommodate one person at a time! We complained about the above and were told that we were upgraded to a Junior Suite upon check in which had an old sofa, chair, and desk in one room and a terrace to go out on! We were told perhaps if the AC was not cooling good enough to open the terrace doors! In summary this was the worse $500 per night room I have ever stayed in! Did not make my trip to Rome a pleasant one! Will never consider this hotel again!
As always I enjoyed my stay with you. Like I repeat every time : for me it is like coming home. The kindness and assistance I meet at every level is very much appreciated and the fact that you manage to book my favorite room (675) is great. I have been a faithful guest for almost 20 years.

85 for a transfer to Fiumicino airport when a taxi takes 48 justifying the fact that there is a taxi strike (invented by you) in my house is called scam ... congratulations
Old rooms with no air conditioning to work, and horror bathrooms, with shower phones flying off and tanks with blocked drains!
This hotel was not only really beautiful and great location, but it had the best customer service. They really went above and beyond to make you feel welcome, answer your questions, and help make your stay the best. We will definitely be returning to Rome and this hotel. Thank you for a wonderful few days in Rome!
This is a true gem. We stay with or italian greyhound in a room with a view over the roofs of Rome. It a serene and romantic place we always long to come back to.
The hotel is beautiful, fantastic bed and pillows, great buffet breakfast, however the carpet in the room is painful to walk barefoot on or put your knees on. Also the bathtub/shower is horrible, because the tub is too narrow to stand and it is difficult to shower. The room is a little cramped too. But everything else was fine. The staff is friendly and efficient. And the location is good.
Breakfast was delicious ~
The room was not very big, but the room and the lobby were very clean
Service and help excellent. However, I suggest you review your policy of the floral fragrances downstairs. In our first room, , the strong perfume caused considerable respiratory discomfort. The information as to why was confused and attempts to solve with a so called Ionizer were fruitless. It was actually an Ozone generator (which can only be left on for a short period), and not an Ionizer.
HOWEVER to the credit of the staff, we were upgraded to an odor free which we really enjoyed our remaining stay. Thank you to all for your help from thereon. The restaurant on the final night was also very good.
It's the small things, it's always the small things. It's how they remember your breakfast preference, or how they recommend a special drink. It's how they use the right surname in a couple, our how they pass about knowledge of a birthday.
Yes, the rooms might be a bit on the old side, but this is the eternal city and if you are looking for a modernity you might be a bit off.
The quality of the service and the staff more than make up for any hiccups the infrastructure might have. You will forget that particularly sleek shower arrangement. You are unlikely to forget someone showing a genuine smile first thing in the morning, every day.
This is not a Grand hotel. It feels a little squashed and aged, but it has character and is in the middle of the shopping district. The wi fi stinks, the decoration is awkward, the bathrooms are done with white marble but in need of renovation . Though the staff is friendly, this hotel has very strict policies : the day before departure, you get a letter saying in fact that if you dare ask for late departure, they will charge you 50% of the room rate. Not very friendly...Breakfast is nothing to write home about.
