Exclusive and historic hotel in the heart of Rome just a few steps from the most important monuments, as well as the street of international luxury shops. Nearby historical places such as Greek coffee and much more ..

The staff, from Mr Colli to the assistant GM to Massimo and his team were the ultimate make things work with a sense of uniquely friendly service . Front desk to door men to housekeeping to the dining room people. Teams win, and they are made of individuals. And there are a lot of them. Having been a consistent guest since 1987, and having seen the changes over that period, and having experienced some visits well in the past of confusion with charm , the hotel has it together.
Location is wonderful and the improvements terrific. My only complaint has to do with calling from the outside and occasionally reaching machines rather than people - that can be improved.
As I mentioned, we have been coming a long time, have stayed in the best hotels globally (and many are great), but there is only one place on the Bocca di Leone that makes us feel it is a second home.

Hotel : nice staff attentive. Breakfast good quality. Regular menu good nothing special. Had problem in room with ants in bed and on furniture
Housekeeping did change bedding quickly upon call desk. Needs exterminator. Bathroom ok. Tub shower has plastic cover hard to stand in.

Although it is a five-star hotel, it really has less than one star service and 3 star equipment. Our room is facing the patio, and there is a ventilation pipe outside. It seems to be with the kitchen. The room is very stuffy, but the window is open. There will be small bugs and smoke smell, and the reaction with the counter waited for two hours and did not respond at all. Later, I went to the counter to react once. The answer is that the air conditioner is repairing! Therefore, the wind that is blown out is hot, and the water in the shower is cold. In addition to the lively location of the hotel, I really can't find other advantages! !

The hotel in my mind isn't 5 star maybe 4 would be more accurate.
The room we were in was lovely with balcony, however definitely needing upgraded. A/C didn't really work at all and the safe was too small to put anything in.
All of that said the staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. I did see a room which had been upgraded and it was lovely.
Great location, lovely staff and who couldn't have a fabulous time in Rome!

This hotel was situated in a fabulous location within walking distance of all the action...shopping, restaurants and famous landmarks. The hotel exuded typical old world charm and Italian hospitality in a beautiful setting. The staff were quite personable and the concierge was "movie star handsome" in his uniform.

The breakfast was extensive and quite delicious not to mention the cappuccinos were perfect. The room was smaller than anticipated though the bed was comfortable. The terrace was lovely with nice views of the city. Only regret was that we missed breakfast on day 2 due to an early morning ride to the airport. We definitely plan to return perhaps next summer with the entire family.
Thank you,

We have stayed at Hotel d inghilterra a number of times when we are in Rome. We love the hotel, it s close proximity to wonderful shopping but most of all, we love the personal service , experience and attentiveness of Massimo - the conceirge. He is the reason we keep coming back!

We were visiting from the US. The hotel is well situated in the heart of Rome. The hotel staff offered amazing service. They were friendly, helpful and fluent in English (unfortunately I do not speak Italian). One morning, my wife needed to leave very early at 5 am and we asked for a wake-up call. Without prompting, the hotel offered a large breakfast box of food since she would miss breakfast.

We ate breakfast there every day and enjoyed it entirely, especially the selection of fresh-squeezed juices.
I would highly recommend the hotel. My only minor complaint was that the telephone in the room had no code or key so it wasn't clear how to reach the front desk. We simply stopped by the front desk.

We had lunch in the restaurant of this beautiful historic hotel. Chef Gianluca delighted us with a culinary journey based on fish and vegetables. The result? An unforgettable experience! The maitre Angela pampered us with a thousand attentions and a fabulous pinot grigio. And what a surprise that berry pie!

In general the hotel is excellent. On the plus side, excellent staff, nice decor, good breakfast and excellent location. The restaurant also had really good food and friendly staff. The bathroom was on the small side and the tub needs improvement. The airco did not cool enough during hot days.

One of the worst experiences in a 5 star hotel.

One of the worst experiences in a 5 star hotel.
The hotel is well located, but the services and the facilities are not of a 5 star hotel, not even of a hostel.
When I arrived at 13:00 at the hotel, there was a tray with leftovers from the room service in a sideboard in the alley in front of my office. When I came back from my meeting at 20:00, nobody had picked it, even though they had prepared the room for the night, and the tray was full of ants. I had to tell reception to have the tray picked. They did not apologized or something similar.
The next day I had another experience in terms of cleanness. I arrived to my room in the afternoon at 17:00 and the room had not been cleaned. Later on, when leaving the hotel, I asked reception when was the room supposed to be cleaned. I had to speak with reception, where they told me that it was supposed to have been cleaned between 9:00 and 14:00. However, they did not react as if it was something not acceptable. Later I found that the room of several co-workers in the same floor had not been done until late afternoon.
The bathroom is small, the same as the breakfast zone. Common zones are non existing

The choice of Hotel d'Inghilterra could not have been better. It is situated in the traffic free area in the center of Rome within a 30 min walking distance of most places to visit including the Vatican and Villa Giulia.
It is a building with a history, and an outdoor restaurant for breakfast and lunch while enjoying the movement of visitors and shoppers untill the shops close and calm returns.
We would not hesitate to return there for a next visit the Eternal City.

The location was great - super close to the Spanish steps and the shopping street/underground - the room were small (I'm sure there are large rooms as well) but had an interesting atmosphere, the breakfast was good even though their tea selection was lacking.

A wonderful visit,

A wonderful visit,
from the first moment of our arrival, my wife and I always felt that we were very welcome, the staff could not have been more helpful, they made it feel as though we were all part of one big family.
A fabulous location - just minutes from the main shopping streets and in very close proximity to all the main tourist sites.
Would not hesitate to go back again.

Nice hotel in a great location. The room we had was....tired. We had a suite, which was very large, but the armoire was tiny and the bathroom, while spacious, had little room for your toiletries and the like. Big TV's but nothing to watch (except news channels) unless you speak Italian. Except for some problems with the timing of the bill (we got it a day early - and wrong) everything else was good. The staff is excellent and very willing to help. The restaurant and bar are very nice.

We stayed 5 nights at the hotel, our first impression on arriving was that the reception staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful with our checkin, the doormen handled our voluminous luggage in a efficient way and had it up in our rooms immediately.
Our bedroom on the 2nd floor facing the street was clean and very comfortable, next time I would ask for a room on a higher floor and not facing the street, ours was pretty noisy at all times, small price to pay considering the location of the hotel. You are in walking distance from about all the central sites and even the Vatican. If you are into shopping it is ideal!!
The staff in general were all polite helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in central Rome.

The d Inghilterra is the ideal city centre proper...

The d Inghilterra is the ideal city centre property, perfectly situated in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance of cultural and commercial activity. But it is the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff which makes it such a pleasure to stay at; not to mention the standard of the rooms. If I have one criticism and it is an important one, the standard of the breakfast leaves a great deal to be desired. Beginning with the cramped space and the frustrated staff to the way the breakfast is set out and the procure: not at all what one would expect from an hotel of such standing. This breakfast may be acceptable to some guests, but it leaves us cold. What is frustrating is that I mentioned the same thing last September after our stay there, but nothing has changed. That said, we shall continue to visit the hotel because all the other attributes far outweigh the one negative.

Really great place to be staying in Rome for a few days, the staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. The location is amazing and central. Room is being cleaned up twice a day.
The restaurant is very recommended as well - we enjoyed a very romantic and tasty dinner at the first night.

This hotel is very historical and majestic with a hint of culture. Stayed here a few years back and can't wait to visit again. The staff is amazing. The food served for breakfast is amazing. I live in the U.S. and you can taste the difference in everything from the juice, the meats, the cheese etc. The location is also amazing, because there are so many things to do from a walking distance perspective.

Unbeatable location but very small rooms and restaurant not according to the category of the hotel. Good quality, but all excessively compressed. Expensive. The staff is very friendly, net and make up for everything.

GREAT hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful, clean, well air-conditioned rooms. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was lovely - one of the best meals of our whole trip to Italy. Breakfast is kind of expensive, but was such a yummy spread of choices we felt it was mostly worth it. We stayed in connecting rooms for our two nights at the hotel which was perfect for our family's needs. The location of the hotel is perfect - on a nice quiet street in the thick of Rome's imperial attractions. The marble bathrooms were luxurious. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we return to Rome someday.

My family had a wonderful three-night stay at the Inghilterra in August 2017. The decor is lovely, and the whole team at the front desk was amazingly helpful with all things, from dinner reservations to bicycle rentals and advice on avoiding lines at the Coliseum. Andrea the doorman always greeted us by name and was consistently cheerful and helpful. Our second floor room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Looking forward to our next visit.

We loved our stay here. The hotel was beautiful, with a great minibar and accommodations. The restaurant had delicious food. A reminder to Americans traveling that in the winter there is only hot air for the AC, even when you set it on cool. The best part of this hotel is the exceptional service that they provide us. Whether it was going out of their way to make reservations for us or helping us find a place, we always felt that we were in good hands. On our last day my wife became ill and being in a foreign country we were trying to figure out how to best handle this. After a short phone call, the hotel got us a doctor and located a pharmacy close by so that we were able to enjoy the last day of our honeymoon. I can't wait to say at Hotel d'Inghilterra again!

Rome was our last stop on a two-week vacation in Italy. Arriving at the Hotel D'Inghilterra did not disappoint us. The room was spacious and we had a lovely bottle of champagne, a tray of cookies and a dish of fruit waiting for us.

The location of the hotel was perfect. It is right near the Spanish steps and the high end shopping district, so it made it easy for us to walk around Rome and see the sights and get to some excellent restaurants all on foot.

We would stay here again.

The hotel is one of the oldest in Rome, it is perfectly located near the Spanish Steps and the style is uniquely beautiful if you love a classic hotel like me. The size of the room is pleasant, the bathroom is very spacious. It is a bit noisy in the evening, but you are in the middle of the city. Breakfast was a la carte and a bit expensive for the performance, even if the quality was right. From day 2 we went 100 meters further into the Ginger, there is a great selection from 10 a.m.

Located in via the mouth of Leone, an unusually quiet street to be near via condotti and via del corso, the Hotel has meticulous and elegant furnishings, with attention to the smallest details. I highly recommend you go to the Bond Bar, a real gem inside the hotel.

Present staying in the hotel from April 22 to 24. A.c not working fournd out that hotel does not turn on A. C till weather becomes warm. Today temperature is 70 degree F. And humid. Upon request to turn A.C they denied. Shower are extremly small and water does not drain. I am petite person with 5 feet tall and I felt suffocated in shower so just imagine if some one taller than 5 ft and on top water flooding every where.

We were delighted with the hotel in every respect. The location could not have been better. The free upgrade to a Junior Suite was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to return and will recommend the hotel to our travel agents and friends. Thank you!

Hotel D' Inghielterra is an excellent option to stay in Rome. The Junior Suite that we were in was big, clean, clear and very pleasant. The bathroom was marvelous and its size and appliances are very uncommon in other 5* European hotels. The staff is very helpful, cordial, polite and available. The localization is absolutely outstanding. I strongly recommend this hotel in your staying in Rome the Eternal City.

Our home in Rome, this hotel conveniently located a minute s walk from the Spanish steps is really lovely. We stayed in several different rooms of this hotel and even though the windows open to busy streets in the middle of the historical centre, we can hardly notice any noise as the insulation is fantastic (as well as the light shutters). Xenia from reception is always very kind and friendly, and we always feel welcome. Breakfast buffet is really nice, most rooms we stayed are quite spacious (the junior suite is really big), beds are big and comfortable, but there is nothing better to be able to come back at any time to an air-conditioned room for a break, since this hotel is in such central location, before going out again.

You really do get what you pay for!

Staff goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs and rooms are clean and well kept with constant turn down service.

Hotel Restaurant has very good food in comparison to the garbage you ll eat in Rome s tourist traps.

Hotel is not one of the cheaper ones but worth every penny and truly a five star hotel !!!

We were very happy with the location and service of the staff however the hotel was average. The room we were given on the 5th floor had a lingering smell of cigarettes and had a barely functioning AC on what we were told was the hottest week on record. The floor, once exiting the elevator, was also very hot compared to other floors we checked out.

We were also greeted with a fire alarm that went off on our first morning at 7am after a long flight from LA and weren't informed breakfast wasn't included at time of room purchase or check in.

Lastly, we had some miscommunication with the very helpful concierge. They instructed us they could set up tickets for the vatican museum, something we could've done ourselves online, but didn't tell us there would be a fee thru the booking agency, something avoidable if we did it on our own. They also didn't instruct us it provided access to St Peters so I had to pay again the next day essentially triple paying.

The staff at this hotel were excellent in making the most of our four nights, our room was comfortable and large enough.

We had an early start one morning so tried to order room service, we were informed that we could only have a sandwich and not a continental breakfast we wanted, so we passed on that. We mentioned this to the office manager at checkout and he dealt with this in a brilliant and understanding way, we left satisfied this had been addressed. The rooms would benefit from tea and coffee making facilities

I would stay here again

I can not judge the hotel because I worked there for an event. It looks like a standard hotel but the staff didn't seem particularly "responsive" to the demands of a meeting organizer, it could be more efficient.

While the location is perfect, this small boutique hotel can no longer be considered a five star luxury hotel. This hotel is three stars at best. This is the second time that we have stayed here, and this hotel has far surpassed its glory days. The rooms have not been updated in at least 10 or more years, the rooms feel dirty and smell like damp musk, the air conditioning is the worst I have ever experienced, the wifi is simply terrible, and the Staff is not even remotely up to a five star rating. As a westerner the most important thing is a cold hotel room in Rome's brutal summers. Our room temperature never dipped below 80 degrees. While we asked hourly for a fan, not surprisingly all of the property's fans were in use. It was not until the second day, when we demanded that they buy one, did they actually assist. In addition to the heat, the housekeeping services were subpar. Although on the surface the rooms appeared clean, it did not feel as if they were clean. In fact, when we first given our room we opened the door to find that the room had not been cleaned since the prior guest had departed. At one point we asked for a bucket of ice, which apparently became a daunting task to fill. The beds have clearly not been changed out in years, the pillows are low pile and hard, and the bed linen is equivalent to ones that you would find a a budget hotel. In addition, at 6:00 a.m. every morning you are awoken by the sounds of glass bottles being thrown into the neighboring dumpster. On the positive side, the continental buffet breakfast is nice, and the management appears to clearly know the major problems they are experiencing. This hotel was just purchased by Star Hotels, so I can only hope that they will announce a major renovation soon. Until then, and until the renovations have been completed, I strongly recommend that you select another option in the area.
